Okay, so first off, Hello! I'm new, hope I didn't do this wrong. On my game (SoulSilver, rom, Acekard2), I enabled the "Walk Anywhere" cheat. I went to Azalea Town, and went north towards Route 34 (avoiding Ilex Forest). On the very edge of the Azalea area (Northwest corner), the Rival is facing North. He can't be interacted with, but he is there. If you interact with anything else you get the headbutt trees message, but not on him. Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone know what purpose it serves? Is this the right place to ask this?

Okay, before I tell you guys what happened... *I'm using HeartGold (USA) *Using the non-compact version, .03a. *Using the ARDS, not DSi. Basically, when I output my box code from Pokésav, my AR read it as an Unknown Game. I noticed that the ID Code isn't the same as the usual HG USA code. It can read my SS USA perfectly fine, but not for HG USA. Has this happen to anyone else? EDIT: No, it doesn't work with my japanese version either. Before anyone asks.

Hey guys you think you can edit the game so you start out at pallet town. Make your starter pikachu, etc. I thought this idea would be great because of the pokemon following you around idea. Since in yellow your pikachu would follow you around, it would seem to make sense. and as addition you can go to johto region! basically reverse johto - kanto to kanto - johto. Neat huh?!

Can you tell where this is going? So, I was wondering if it would be possible to change the bicycle sprite in HGSS into a Pokemon sprite, I was thinking a Steelix. Obviously we can't fit a giant sprite, I was thinking of just riding on top of Steelix's head with the rest of its body underground. So, I guess his head could occupy 4 "squares", your character would be placed on the top-right. I can make some sketches it it isn't clear... So, I'm asking, is it even possible to make the bicycle sprite occupy 4 squares on-screen? How about replacing the Bicycle with Steelix's over-world sprite?

Well, not too sure if anyone else has already thought of this. To-do list 1) Make words spoken by male characters blue and females pink a la FRLG. 2) Make stat changes during battle colour coded again like in RSE and FRLG. - Didn't like it when DPPt changed them to just red for increase and blue for decrease. Should not be TOO tough right? 3) Introduce VS Seeker into HGSS - This will be tough....... 4) Enable VS Seeker to be used in buildings and caves etc. - Not sure if this is possible but will try - I want it to be usable on Gym Leaders as well. Will keep the current rematch function. 5) Put in the Sevii Islands - I plan to put Lorelei here (since it was mentioned that she did come from one of the islands though i don't exactly remember which one if i am not mistaken). Agatha.....I will think of a place (Maybe where Moltres was in FRLG?). - This will probably be the toughest especially designing it in 3D.... 6) The little pic during conversation (what do we call it again? Avatar? Hmm that's not quite it....) - You know, like the ones in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon ( I think) and the Megaman games? In the conversation box there is this little pic of whoever is talking.....yea. 7) Game Corner : Kanto branch (again) - Like many people out there, I was disappointed that slots were removed ( and you cannot buy coins anymore). So I was thinking of putting another game corner in Kanto where it used to be in FRLG (what is in it's spot now anyway? Need to find out....) Either that or I will expand the current game corner. 8) Poketch style Pokegear add on - Nah I won't do away with the current pokegear. I was thinking that if i added a button (since there is some blank space left) to 'activate' the poketch style add-ons. So basically, you can have a clock on the lower screen instead of the usual menu or the status of your party etc. All 'pages' of the apps will have a button to bring back to the menu page (kinda like the START button). So yea you will have the best of both worlds. I mean there are certain aspects of the poketch that i like over that in the pokegear. I am really new to rom editing. Yea my ideas may be are kinda absurd but will still try. If anyone wants to adopt any of these it's fine by me. Don't even know if i will still have any free time to pursue this. @ Xor Vok: Thanks man. Good luck in your ShadowWhite project too. @Frolossus: Yea. I think that is a good idea. And I think i would want to make them accessible in either the house or in Elm's lab so that Pokemon can be withdrawn without going all the way to the nearest town. The Wifi thing.....I don't have any idea about how to do that yet. @ Skyblade 12: Hmmm never noticed that before. Will take another look. @TehReelK41: True, but I am not particularly interested in cramming all regions into one game especially since many people have thought about that and i believe are already working on it. I just want to make a slightly more 'ideal' version of HGSS. Oh yea and if anyone has any idea of how to improve my ideas feel free to post here. And if anyone knows how to use any program to implement the ideas in this thread, it'll be great if you can post it here as well.

Another idea that I have... Region: Holon Suggested storyline (to be amended) : Takes place after the use of mutating electromagnetic waves has ceased. It is observed that some Pokemon have mutated: classified as the Delta ( δ ) species. And recently it was suggested that maybe, just maybe, the Pokemon in Holon are naturally different from Pokemon from other species (which should also be called Delta species Pokemon but are denoted with Δ instead of δ.) So you are sent to find out. Any way, the main baddie this time won't be some control freak bent on taking over the world: he just wants to find something ( I was thinking Mew) for some less ambitious purpose ( like for healing his son or something like that since the delta species mew is said to be special and it was actually SIGHTED so it is possible to find it etc.). And maybe we can have a guy who starts to expose pokemon to high levels of electromagnetic waves to try to mutate them for errrr....i dont know maybe top generate clean electricity. Oh yea and we can introduce Team Rocket once more. Spoiler: And this time Giovanni is a good guy. End of Spoiler. So yea that's about it. Yes in case you are wondering, this is 'adapted' from the original storyline of the Holon arc in the TCG. Still needs some work with the storyline though. Seems ......I dont know. Some other stuff: I was thinking that instead of making us choose either fire, water or grass pokemon (which is not really all that fair since there may be a change of type which will throw it off balance), we will have to choose pokemon of the same type. Eg at the beginning, we will have to choose between Bulbasaur Δ, Chikorita Δ and Treeko Δ. And along the way, you will choose among the fire type and later the water type or something like that. You will receive a pokedex which is fully filled. But only when delta pokemon are caught, more entries will be made and more info is added to the current pokedex like it should have been. I mean how many times had professors sent kids to collect data? It's about time we got a functional pokedex like those in the TV show. Alternative names? Pokemon Delta Species ( you know....DS) So that's more or less it. Most likely to be a romhack of HGSS but still waiting for more tools to be developed as i admit that i know next to nothing about romhacking. If you intend to take this project up feel free to do so. Would be nice if you would inform me first though. Any suggestions?

Hi Everybody! I have an Idea, Just that I don't really know how to add them to the game, So here goes nothing: Wouldn't it be cool if you are able to battle Cynthia and Steven in HGSS! I thought it would! However, I have no idea how to do so. So anyone want to help me/ guide me/ do the patch? Also, I was thinking that it's "slightly unfair" that Red is in the game, And the Female Counterpart from FRLG is neglected, So maybe we can summon her too? I dunno. I think that including battles (and rebattles) with the pseudo rival (Elm's kid), And other past Elite four missing members, Will be sweet! So let's review: Add battle with Steven, Cynthia, "Green", Pseudo-rival, Lorelei, Agatha, Oak!!! I believe that priority can be given to Pseudo Rival, Steven, Cynthia (and maybe oak) cause their overworld sprites already exist! Now is to find the program to place them in the game, And give them a team. What are the programs available for HGSS editing? Also, which of the files in the game can I use? (Using NitroExplorers, I see a big bunch of folders and numbers that make no sense to me. The only thing I could have done is edit Sprites of pokemon using DspokepicPlat) Comments anyone? Thanks!

I'm not sure how well this is going to go down, but I saw that the forums only had 3 styles to chose from: HeartGold vB4 Default Style Mobile vB4 And because there isn't a Soulsilver theme, I got thinking: I have no idea how this is going to work (someone is going to have to figure out that), but maybe people could create their own style/themes and upload them here. Then a Moderator/Admin (or whoever has the power) to add them to the list. Questions, comments?

Balance Crystal What is it? Balance Crystal is my mod idea with the aim of making a more balanced game, hence the name. This would be accomplished by looking at the official tier list to find out why some Pokémon are weaker than others, and improve the weaker ones to be on par with higher tiers. This would include editing stats, movesets and in very rare cases, types. Other features could be included (like additional story mode content), but the focus is on making a balanced game, which could be used by others with the same mod competitively. Although it may seem like a pretty simple hack to make, it would actually take a lot of time and effort to comb through all Pokémon to balance them out, without going too far in either direction. Any interest in this kind of hack? Would anyone use it to battle others more fairly and diversely? Let me know below. Ok! When I activated a code; I made on Pokegenerator 3.0b8; then saved, turned off, and then turned back on... It said "The save file has been erased, due to corruption or damage." Has this ever happened to anyone? If so please tell me why it keeps happening! I mean, this is at least the 4th time it's happened! By the way, CODR, I don't blame you for it. Please Help!:frown:

Sorry guys but the results are in and this isn't working. I don't know what else to try so consider this project dead until further notice. The following is kept for informational purposes only: MUST-READ: There are several important pieces of information that you should be aware of here: I recommend that you DO NOT use the method I am going to detail here. This method is potentially risky and much more restricting than simply using a save editor (which I do recommend). This requires your copy of D/P/Pt/HG/SS to be retail; no flashcards. This requires at least one DS "Phat" or DS Lite. The second DS can be any model DS, as long as it will run Black/White from a flashcard. This requires that you flash the firmware of your DS "Phat" or Lite. Flashing carries an inherent risk of bricking your device and/or voiding your warranty. I am not responsible if that happens. That said, I have flashed my DS without a problem and will provide guidance for you. Firmware can be flashed back to its untouched state later. If after reading the above bulleted items, for whatever reason, you still want to try this method, follow the step-by-step instructions below. For now the modifications I've made are only available as part of Project Pokemon's English translation patch. Make sure you have applied the latest version from here to your B/W ROM. Just let me know if this doesn't meet your needs. Now we need to flash your DS "Phat"/Lite. Download FlashMe from here and place it on your flashcards's microSD(HC). Make sure your flashcard is in the Phat/Lite you want to flash. Boot your flashcard and run FlashMe. As it will tell you, you should plug in the charger before continuing. Once that's done press x+b twice. Now you'll see a new paragraph followed by a line reading "Progress:" ... If the progress percentage goes right to 100 and you get a new paragraph saying it's safe to turn of the DS, you're done. Most likely in that last step you didn't make it past 0%. If that's the case, get out a small Phillips screwdriver and a small flathead screwdriver. Use the Phillips to open up the battery compartment of your DS. Depending on if you have a Phat or Lite, you will see something like this: The part circled in red might have a bit of paper stuck over it, you will have to remove it. You can either discard it or try to stick it back when you're done. Now you have exposed the SL1 terminal (circled in red). As FlashMe says, we need to short this. Use your flathead screwdriver to bridge the two sides. Make sure you're applying constant, firm (but not hard) pressure on the screwdriver. Flip your DS around, still holding the screwdriver in place, and have another look at the percentage. It should be progressing upwards now. If it pauses don't panic, just adjust the screwdriver a bit and it should continue. Continue holding the screwdriver until you get a message that it is safe to turn off the DS. Turn it off and you're done flashing. You can ditch the screwdriver and put your battery cover back on. Upon turning on your DS again you'll notice that the health and safety screen is gone, this is normal. You can now PokeShift/Transfer Machine as you normally would, only with an English game. Just make sure the English game is in your flashed DS and your B/W is patched as mentioned in step one. Enjoy! Technical Note (You don't need to read this.) Some folks out there might be wondering why it's necessary to flash the client DS. After all, nobody has needed to flash a DS since practically the beginning of time right? Well, as you probably know B/W uses download play for cross-generation communication. That brought in an ancient problem in respect to editing the regions. The region is of course specified in the download play ROM (which is inside and sent from the B/W ROM); problem is, Nintendo decided in developing the original DS that all download play ROMs must be RSA signed to prevent unauthorized code execution. Lucky for me there was an ancient solution to this ancient problem: flashing, which removes the RSA signature check from the DS's firmware, freeing it to run my slightly modified ROM. =) I'd like to give a big thanks to to those who worked on FlashMe and its custom firmware; this wouldn't be possible without them.

Download the patch: HeartGold - SoulSilver For those of you who just want to use this and don't give a crap about how it works, follow these simple steps: If you don't have them already, you'll need CrystalTile2 and Tsukuyomi UPS (or any UPS patching tool). I've tailored this guide/patch to work with any HG/SS ROM, no matter how much anti-anti-piracy, translation, etc. crap you've applied. Open your HG/SS ROM with CrystalTile2 (you can ignore the small window that pops up when you first open the program) and go to Tools>NDS File System. A new window will pop up with a long list of files. Scroll down until you see the one labeled "overlay9_0074", right click it, and select export. Save the file anywhere you like. Open Tsukuyomi UPS and select "apply patch to an existing file". Use the file you exported as the target file and apply the patch that corresponds to your game. Switch back to CrystalTile and right click the same file as last time, then select import and browse to your patched "overlay9_0074.bin". You're done! Save the ROM and you're ready to start migrating from your English GBA games. Now for details. I'd done this before on D/P/Pt but HG/SS's overlay files are compressed, so it wasn't as simple as the find and replace it had been in D/P/Pt. Initially this had me stumped because although I knew the files were compressed (and there's documentation around on how they're compressed), I am not much of a programmer and didn't have any tool to help me decompress the files. Yesterday though I realized that the function was included in CrystalTile2, a program that has been sitting on my desktop for some months but never got fully explored. Fail. Anyway, just right click a compressed overlay in CrystalTile's NDS filesystem explorer and you'll have the option of decompressing and saving it or opening a decompressed file and compressing it to that location. The process once you've got the decompressed overlay (#74) is easy enough; do a text search in a hex editor for AXVJ. It'll find a small list of game IDs for the 3rd gen pokemon games in which you can replace all J's with the letter corresponding to your language and vice versa. Save and compress/insert the edited overlay and you're good to go. Any 4th gen game can be hacked to accept any third gen game in a similar manner. Hope this is useful to someone! Hi all, I am a IT student and I am currently trying to reverse engineer the inner working of the Gen IV Distribution ROM. I already figured out the basics but... Right now, I am facing an issue with the way data is encrypted. I already know of tools such as WC4PCD or PokeGen, PokeHex... but I am trying to understand and create my own program to decrypt and reencrypt all by myself. So I am asking if any one here as any leads or straight up know what encryption algorithm is used. I obviously did some research but no luck yet. (Chat GPT told me to XOR the file but idk what key to use). Thanks in advance, and my apologies if I made any english mistake

Hi I am new to this and tried to get all starters for Pokemon Soulsilver. I added them to my save file and after that, the encounters in the game changed. What can I do so that this doesn't happen aynmore?

Hello, I recently decided to transfer some Pokemon from an Emerald save file to my SoulSilver, using the latest version of PKHex. The problem is, none of the Pokemon I edited in show up in the Pokedex when I check it. I've tried putting them in my PC/the daycare and then taking them out and battling with them in wild encounters but they still don't show up. When I go to Pokedex tab in PKHex it says that the Pokemon are caught but not seen. I've used PKHex before and the Pokemon I've added to my saves have been added to my dex, it's only with the latest version that this has happened. Should I just edit the dex manually for now? (I've attached the file for reference, some Pokemon it's doing this with are Crobat, Espeon, Typhlosion, and Ampharos) POKEMON SS.sav

1. I downloaded the TWLSaveTool .zip file and extracted it to the root of my microSD card. 2. I also downloaded the .cia file and left it in microSD/cias/TWLSaveTool.cia 3. I switched to my 2DS XL with pokemon dream radar installed. Then I launched homebrew but TWL save tool had an undecipherable caption and lauching it only loaded one line of text (see pictures provided.) After that. the only thing i can do is power off my 2DS which leads to the picture provided that starts with "An exception occurred." 4. Since homebrew didnt work, i tried installing the .cia file now using fbi first and then dev menu. I got the TWLSaveTool to appear on the home menu but launching it results in the scenario i mentioned; black screen with one line of text. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? I've played a few Soul Link's so far and every time I start my play session for the day it's always kind of an annoying process. Loading up 2 separate emulators, 2 roms, having to rekeybind the controllers every time. I was wondering if someone would be able to make a program that could make it easier. If your unfimiliar with a Soul Link Nuzlocke, heres the rules. 1- Any Pokémon that faints is considered "dead," and must be released or stored in a specified PC box for "dead" Pokémon. 2- You can only catch the first Pokémon encountered in each area, and none else. If the first Pokémon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances. 3- You must also nickname all of your Pokémon, for the sake of forming "stronger emotional bonds." 4- In a new area, the first encounters for both players will be, "linked," together until death. 5- If one Pokémon in a linked pair is placed in the PC, it's Soul Link partner must be placed in the PC as well. 6- If one Pokémon in a linked pair dies, it's Soul Link partner is considered dead as well. 7- If one player fails to capture their first encounter in an area, the second player must forfeit their encounter in their corresponding area. 8- Across both players parties, primary typings may not be repeated. Basically what I'm looking for is a program that emulates 2 roms side by side and be able to control them individually. I've thought of a few features to make it better. Features -Emulators from all consoles built in - Ex. VBA, Desmume, and Citra -Saves both roms under 1 "project" and loads them on the same side every time -Type Chart ready -Online Remote Play - Be able to join your friends session online to see and control one of the games. -Games connected locally so you can trade and battle -Database where you can input your linked pokemon pairs and where you caught them -Built in Pokedex Database (Not necessary but would be helpful) -Program reads both your teams and displays them between the game (I'm aware that's not an easy ask but if it's possible, why not) I feel like except for a couple of them this is a completely possible thing to create. I know it probably wont happen but I just thought I'd get the idea out there. I love doing Soul Links and I'm so happy people found a way to make Pokemon Co-op. Thanks for your time.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please update to the latest version if you were using 1.0.2, a pretty serious glitch was fixed. It uses the same download link Introduction Pokémon SoothingSilver is a QOL DS ROM hack of Pokémon SoulSilver. The main goal of the hack is to be somewhat close to Vanilla SoulSilver but with more variety, a bit more difficulty and quite a few new features (such as custom shinies and alolan forms) to hopefully give the player an even better experience without ruining the feeling of the original SoulSilver. The game is beatable, all the way to Mt. Silver!Features Some Pokémon have been replaced by their Alolan forms, mainly for type variety, later on I'll release a patch for people who don't want this feature in the game. Alolan forms have custom Pokédex entries! All gen 1 & 2 Pokémon (apart from legendaries and fossil pokémon) are avaliable before beating the league, and most gen 3 & 4 pokémon aside from the sinnoh fossils, Spiritomb and some legendaries. Lyra is replaced entirely by Kris! Gold/ Kris will now act like a rival with new dialogue and a few battles throughout the game! Variety. Remember back in the original SoulSilver when you would find a trainer with 5 Pidgeys or when you fought Lance and he had 3 Dragonites? That won't happen anymore, trainers will have more varied teams and Pokémon that didn't appear much previously, will do now. Increased difficulty. All boss trainers have improved teams with better movesets and starting from the 4th gym all trainers will have increased levels. This means Kanto should be more of a challenge now! The difficulty is intended to be somewhere inbetween vanilla SoulSilver and StormSilver. The Hack should work on flashcarts like the R4! All Pokémon have their base stats updated to their Gen 6 stats. Some Pokémon have slightly altered stats, typings, and movesets in order to make them more usable, to add more type variety or just because it makes sense. Examples include Dragon-Bug Yanmega, Beedrill having slightly higher stats and learning Megahorn at later levels. These changes aren't as drastic as other hacks like Project rebooted. Some moves have been edited to be more usuable. Notably HMs are now actually better in battle so they don't hinder your Pokémon as much. For example Rock smash has increased pp and 100% chance to lower defense and Flash is now an electric type special move with 20 power, 95 accuracy, 100% chance lower accuracy and has priority. Easier Evolution. If a Pokémon has an evolution/ pre evolution introduced in gen 3/4 it'll be avaliable pre league and all evo items can be obtained in new ways. In addition any evolutions will be possible without having to trade. The type chart has been edited a little to help balance the game. Most notably Ice type is now immune to ice and resists water/ ground attacks New overworld events! Shiny rate increased from 1/8192 to 1/2048 (although it seems to be even higher than this!) Some pokémon will have custom shiny palletes! GB sounds from the start of the game Game corner has changed prizes and cheaper prices Early exp. share Removed the catching tutorial Repels and Max Repels now last slightly longer and Max Repels are cheaper Some characters have their dialouge altered a little to be slightly more memorable or just to explain features like alolan forms Plus more small features!
