  1. Psyduck is one of the most realistic aspects of the anime, considering it's origin. Remember, Psychic typing and psychic type attacks were completely broken in Gen I. Alakazama could sweep entire teams.
  2. Because moves and EVs can still be decided. You should read the post of a RMT thread before posting in it. I made it very clear that this was a gimmick tournament. Anyway, tournament is over. I got haxed to death in the first round.
  3. At least Smods can modify the poll. I can change the names of the Pokemon, or the numbers of votes. Hmmm.... But seriously, wraith, PM me the changes you want done and I'll do it soon. EDIT: Greenie, Wraith, and I all voted for Manaphy. Looks like mods do know best
  4. There's no shortage of free image hosting sites on the Internet. Most don't require an account. Some do. But if someone suggested photobucket, and it takes all of 30 seconds to make an account, I'd go ahead and do that :\
  5. Closing dis. But leaving it viewable so people can copy/paste their posts from this thread to mine.
  6. While we're not a mecha for competitive battling, and I like seeing diversity in RMT forums, most in-game RMTs consist of this: *6 pokemon +moves* *people comment on moves* *repeat* But at the same time, I know that a well balanced team can help in the main 8 gyms + E4 game. Sure, you CAN beat everything with a level 100 Caterpie if you REALLY wanted to, but it's frustrating. So, here is what I was thinking of implementing, and everyone please feel free to comment on my ideas, modify them, or suggest your own: One thread for all the typical in-game stuff. 6 random Pokes, nothing else. And when posting it, pretend you are on at least the 7th gym, so by that time your Pokemon have evolved. Of course, Battle Tower/Frontier teams can have their own individual threads. If you're making an interesting gimmick team for in-game completion, that can warrant it's own thread. Some mono type, or Luvdisc/Unown/Feebas play through. You know, some type of theme. I spent like 5 minutes thinking about this, so I'm sure you all can think of something better. Previously said by other people:

  8. I know I saw Move 3 on iTunes. From what I remember reading on Bulbapedia, a bunch of production companies own various rights of the dubbed movies. So it'll be quite a pain to find them in any legit fashion. If it's any consolation, you can probably find Movies 9-11 DVDs at garage/yard sales, or used through Amazon or Ebay on the cheap. Just as a forewarning to everyone: Remember, no linking to illegal content.
  9. I haven't tried the GTS Cloning as done in D/P. I don't know WHY it wouldn't work, since the GTS operates the same. But from what I've read on forums, it doesn't. There is also the very risky cloning while trading tactic. It's basically what cloning was in Gen I except applied to today. If you disconnect at an exact moment during a Wi-Fi or Union Room trade, you'll both end up with a copy of each Pokemon. The risks: Both Pokemon may be lost Only one Pokemon may get cloned, the other lost One might be cloned, the other normally traded I've had option #2 happen to be once during a disconnect in a Wi-Fi trade. I doubt the other guy was intentionally doing it, but it sure sucked to lose my Pokemon at the time. My advice? Just do your GTS Cloning in D/P. If you really want to clone Pokemon efficiently and quickly, save up for an Action Replay or a flashcart (CycloDS recommended).
  10. I don't think the later (dex thing) has ever happened. He does identify Pokemon he may have seen in previous sagas. But just like the games, the anime Pokedex is updated too. So it might reveal new info. As for types and attacks, some of it is dumb, some of it is "anime is not the games", and some I don't blame him. Recently, he was attacked by a Swampert and ordered Pikachu to use Thunderbolt. Brock reminded him it's part ground. But if I never played the games and I watch the anime, there's no way I would've been able to tell Swampert was part ground.
  11. Being a Legendary Pokemon doesn't inherently mean anything, including being "unique." Sure, there are many Legendary Pokemon with unique traits, such as a signature move, ability, or unique typing. But just because one might lack it doesn't make it not Legendary, or even bad. The only rule of being a Legendary Pokemon is being deemed so by Game Freak. Pretty much every gen has "broken" a rule made up by fans. Gen II had the trio roaming instead of being stationary, Gen III introduced a legendary with no in-game location (still true as of now) in Jirachi and showed that Legendary Pokemon can have genders (Lati). And Gen IV showed that a singular legendary Pokemon can be either gender (Heatran), and that Legendary Pokemon can breed (Phione can make more Phione with Ditto, Maanphy makes Phione with Ditto). There's a few more differences that I left out too. I think Pressue is a great trait for a Legendary Pokemon to have. Powerful moves like Thunder, Fire Blast, and so on have low PP, and Pressure can quickly make them go away. Levitate...eh, depends on what Pokemon we're talking about.
  12. Moved to Wi-Fi Trading forum. And it looks like he's offeing and looking for legit Pokemon. So please, no "why not just save them", no offering the OP generated Pokes , etc.. Any posts doing anything other than discussing the trade of legit Pokemon might be marked as spam. Carry on and happy trading.
  13. I am 100% certain that the battle is 2 v 2, single battle. This community (Something Awful) likes to switch up tournaments between hyper competitive and gimmicks. This is a gimmick. I'm not trying to make a well balanced team, because that's already made for me. I just get to decide the sets. And what I have to work with is...well, why I posted the thread :\ From the original thread:
  14. Okay, so ground rules/explanations: The host of the tournament generated eggs for it's participants and handed them out. Egg moves were included, no one would get screwed over by 2 Pokes with tons of common weaknesses, IVs would be similar across the board And both of mine are Quirky, so I bet neutral natures are used for all. That means I can't re-breed, change Pokes, etc... Oh, other rules Sleep Evasion OHKO Species Focus Sash banned Item Clause Best two out of 3 Single Battle I can re-EV train, move tutor, etc...Plat moves are available to me: Spritomb w/ Choice Specs/Band/Scarf Quirky Pressure 252 HP/128 DEF/128 Sp DEF - Trick - Confuse Ray - Icy Wind - Will O Wisp (before I go on, egg moves that I got were Shadowsneak and Pain Split). Spiritomb is kind of setting up for it's partner. Trick away it's item, then attack as needed. Icy Wind serves the dual purpose of cutting it's speed and damaging. Will O Wisp helps me with physical hits. Confuse Ray helps me switch Octillery in. Honestly, by the time I wake up tomorrow I might completely change my mind on what I want to do. Spiritomb has a lot of options. I was also thinking of using the Macho Brace or some other horrible item instead of Choice. I'll look into this more tomorrow. I was initially thinking of a Calm Mind Spiritomb. But in a battle with only 2 Pokemon, I don't think I'll have enough time to boost it's sp atk to a respectable level. Octillery w/ Wise Glasses OR Life Orb Quirky Suction Cups 252 sp atk/252 HP/6 DEF - Thunder Wave - Ice Beam - Surf - Charge Beam Octillery is a bit more straight forward. Thunder Wave in case I need to slow something down. Charge Beam almost necessary for +sp atk. Surf+Ice Beam round out the coverage. Please, make any suggestions/modifications you'd like.
  15. Brock has far outlived his usefulness to many, but all of those people (like myself) are way outside the demographic the show is aimed at. But for kids aged 5-10, he's the perfect supporting character. His Pokemon usually do some type of running gag or have unique traits, he himself is part of a constant running gag (flirting), and he provides the "older brother" aspect to the younger traveling trainers.
  16. ^ Jirachi is also without an in-game location. It came with the bonus disc for some versions of Colo. US, Europe, Australia I believe, while Japan got Celebi.
  17. Moved to Wi-Fi trading. Please update you post to conform to Trading forum rules within...say 48 hours or so.
  18. Could you tell us more about the hack checking process (And if possible, the machine actually used)? How random are the checks, when are they performed, did anyone get kicked out for it and if so, do you know specifically why they got kicked out (hacked items, hacked Pokemon in their game, hacked Pokes in their registered party, etc)?
  19. Please don't claim fan-made hacks are the actual events.
  20. That's kind of why Bronzong is a bad lead, unless you want to just do something like Explode right away. It can't raise it's attack, but it can Calm Mind up it's special attack. You can kind of use Bronzong to counter Trick leads by giving it a horrible item, like Macho Brace. But then you have to watch out so it doesn't get tricked backed onto your speedy Gengar or whatever. Starmie w/ Choice Scarf Bold (+Def, -Atk) Natural Cure 252 HP/128 DEF/128 Sp DEF - Trick - Thunder Wave/Icy Wind - Confuse Ray/Reflect - Toxic/Recover/Light Screen Defensive Stamie has sucked in the past, but I'm eager to test out how Trick will work with it. Even with no speed EVs, it still outspeeds Jolly Aero and really only fears other Trick leads. Trick the Scarf away to something that won't like it. After ditching it, do your thang on the inevitable switch. Thunder Wave to slow down foes. Icy Wind is also a usually unexpected option because Stamie learns Ice Beam. But Icy Wind lowers the speed one stage. Utilizing Icy Wind might need some special attack EVs, and those can be taken from special defense. Confuse Ray, Toxic, and Recover are preferred over Screens since other Pokes can set up screens better than Starmie can. I'm also working on a more offensive version of this set. Same basic premise, but Cosmic Power will be used to make up for the lesser EVs in DEF/SpDEF.
  21. I'm not speaking for Varna, but simply because Smogon's set of rules and how they design Pokemon sets are based on using a battle simulator. Rules such as Sleep/evasion/ohko/species won't necessarily need to be re-done. Pretty much every battle forum out there uses those as a basis, and for good reason. But how useful a Pokemon is on Wi-Fi can be drastically different than how useful it is on Shoddy, and thus the tier lists may actually greatly differ. Think about it: If you caught a Zapdos with a sucky Hidden Power, how useful do you think it actually is? Hidden Power Grass or Ice is recommended on every set on Smogon (and only in the first two sets is it a second or third option; every other set has it either has the first option of a slot or the only). The same can pretty much be said for any Pokemon who has a special attacking set but with a limited special attack movepool. Heatran, Vaporeon, and others usually rely on HP to round out their coverage.
  22. While we technically do have a tier list, no one uses it and it's really the thoughts of just a few people rather than though any real method of testing. But before any talks of PP developing it's own metagame, a clear plan needs to be developed, a method of testing that we can follow. But that's really a discussion for another thread.
  23. Ok, question answered.
