  1. That would be true, but Spiritomb's pathetic base HP makes running 0 HP highly impractical and ineffective to an extreme. As a defensive set, running 252 HP is almost a necessity. Edit: Added Gardevoir. Gardevoir @Damp Rock Calm | Trace 252 HP / 120 SpD / 136 Spe Rain Dance / Memento / Will-o-wisp / Focus Blast The use of this set over Uxie is fairly obvious. Firstly, it can actually attack. Thats nice. Focus Blast adds a fighting type move to this team, which is great as a counter to a lot of pokemon, and enables Gardevoir to have an extremely powerful attacking move that can deal a lot of damage to common switch-ins. Secondly, Gardevoir can cripple incoming physical sweepers with Will-o-wisp. The use of that is obvious. Finally, the Rain Dance - Memento combo. Probably one of the reasons I chose this set. Lategame, it can be hard to find a niche for a sweeper to set up. Ludicolo is too frail to find a good turn to switch in and set up in the lategame. Gardevoir can switch into a special attacker and set up 8 turn Rain Dance, which is crucial to the function of a sweeper Ludicolo. Then, she can use Memento to suicide and dramatically reduce the usefulness of any pokemon, which almost guarantees a switch. And even if the opponent doesnt switch, the damage will be minimal. This almost guarantees that Ludicolo will have an opportunity to set up Swords Dance and proceed to (hopefully) sweep and enjoy the lack of priority moves in the UU metagame. Issues with this set is that I now entirely lack Stealth Rock, which means Sashers will be troublesome.
  2. Well, using an AR to speed things up doesn't count. Thats not ruining a game, thats preventing it from wasting your time and getting boring and repetitive. When you use an AR to skip the entire game, then you might aswell just use a simulator...
  3. Using an AR on games totally destroys any point in playing them. Theres a reason people don't like cheating. Yeah, I could spend about a minute in my calculator finding myself a chained shiny PID, put it into a pokemon, and click go. Instead, I spend 20 minutes getting a chain to 40, then spend 3-5ish minutes finding myself a shiny.
  4. What about Munchlax?
  5. This team is offensive, so Clefable doesnt fit at all. Kingdra is OU. Kabutops is all great and crap, but I already have two swift swim users and drapion takes care of the spot Kabutops would take up.
  6. Random fun facts about NFE's: Onyx has as much defense as Deoxys-D. Gastly has the same special attack as Starmie and Dragonite. Munchlax is the slowest pokemon in the game, with a maximum speed stat of 119 with a beneficial nature; however, his HP stat is higher then every OU except for Blissey and Snorlax, and his attack stat is higher then Dugtrio. Elekid with a beneficial nature will outspeed all Rotom forms. Tangela with Chlorophyll reaches 480 speed in the sun, allowing it to outspeed most OUs, and with a respectable SpA of 100 and a quite usable defense of 115, Tangela can easily come in on one of his resistances.
  7. Quick bump / update on Influenza A (H1N1): Obama (Mr. Genius) had the fantastic idea to spend 190 million $$ of government money to fund research for a vaxxine for H1N1, a virus that has killed all of TWELVE people in the United States. Thats almost 16 million dollars spent per each dead person. Secondly, the actual "swine flu" virus isn't transmitted from pigs, to pigs, or has anything to do with pigs. The only reason it was named that was because of a slight similarity in H1N1 to a virus that some pigs have. Yay for spending money we don't have.
  8. Shuppet must have excellent special defense to take on a chompah's Dragon Pulse. Yes, draco meteor is better, but Dragon Pulse isn't to be smirked at. I'm quite impressed at the taillow. 313 attack (guts included) isn't bad considering a 140 BP STAB Facade... Baby teams rely heavily on suicides, and yours exemplifies this. Excellent job
  9. I haven't broken a chain in a while, I end all my chains intentionally. I'm horrible at explaining things, but remember to reset the radar a ton. Why was your chain broken? By the way, an easy way for beginners to learn chaining is to use an infinite battery code for the pokeradar, and an infinite repel code to go with it.
  10. Good luck. I just finished chaining 8 Machops. I'll get a good picture later.
  11. I didn't lose to any of the gym leaders in Platinum. Then again, I played through the game with only Torterra and Staraptor.
  12. Whats hardest for me to understand is how hypocritical Floot seems to be. Humans didn't use some sort of sadist magic to create medication. Everything that a human could create could also be created by nature and used for the exact same purpose. Scientists don't cause disputes. They publish information. People take that information, apply it to their beliefs. If they don't like it (or the person who published it...), they will start a religious dispute about it. Otherwise, they'll accept it and move on. I really cannot understand the idea of refusing to take medication, yet using so many different human created tools around you. Are computers and antibiotics different? Yes. But computers are thousands of times more complex then penicillin, one of the most influential and used antibiotics that just so happens to be a random discovery of nature, totally "unedited" by humans. Now, once we get into the human genome and editing DNA, I can fully understand religious controversy against that, but not against technologies that even those who argue against them use and accept. And scientists most certainly do NOT force their kids not to be religious. You're extending an absolutely minuscule stereotype of scientists onto all scientists (and if you're doing that, I could easily say all religious people are extremists who cause huge wars and don't accept any other beliefs under any conditions at all), which is simply ridiculous.
  13. In the rain, Omastar reaches 418 speed. Milotic reaches a maximum speed of 287 with a beneficial nature. Not only that, but although a Specs set might fit nicely with this team, it wouldn't serve the purpose that I want Omastar to fill. Life Orb recoil is the least of my worries. Omastar tends to either be early game sweeper or late game cleanup. I generally get all of one or two attacks in before Omastar gets his face handed to him with a quad weakness to grass attacks such as Energy Ball and Grass Knot, both of which are often seen on non-grass pokemon (Ninetales much). Not only that, but Life Orb gives an incredibly useful 30% damage bonus, which can really give Omastar an edge. And quite honestly, Omastar's base 125 defense and good physical wall typing will enable Omastar to come in quite easily and cause switches. Finally, three pokemon to get rain out is quite necessary. Uxie and Spiritomb have limited use and survivability, and Omastar's ability to cause switches makes them all excellent choices for Rain Dance, so I see no reason to say 3 rain dance users are too much.
  14. I believe you're talking about SCV's PID>IV generator, and I have no idea where the link would be found.
  15. The name Gold was thought up by some complete idiot in the 2nd generation. I mean really. That was one of the worst parts of the first two generations: the names Gold, Silver, Red, and Blue. Just the worst names ever. If Gold and Silver are even IN the default name list, I will not buy the game.
  16. Wrong. I'm going to quote Smogon's ever helpful strategy pokedex: "The power of an attack is increased by 10% on each consecutive use, up to a maximum of +200%. The boosts are lost if the holder uses another attack or switches out. The boost is only applied on multiple selections of a move, not multiple executions. This means that moves that lock the user into the move for multiple turns will not boost for each time the user attacks, only when they select the move again. If a Pokemon uses a move that selects another move (for instance, Sleep Talk), Metronome's bonus will increase when that move selects and attack, and do nothing (neither boost nor reset the counter) when that move fails to select an attacking move."
  17. 0 Ivs is possible, and it signifies random IVs.
  18. I'm boring, I use two Smeargles...
  19. *cries* /bump
  20. Well, I'm kind of an offensive freak. My dad is super impatient, and apparently he passed down that impatience to me, which really annoys me. In any case, I don't like using defensive pokemon ingame. These days, for ingame purposes I walk around with two HM slaves, Deoxys-A and my false swiper (scizor).
  21. You took a picture of a shaymin, painted the background green, and deleted an eye and some black lines. That doesnt qualify as sigmaking.
  22. The Regi's were a letdown. None of them were any good ingame or competitively. Still though, a lot of the pokemon were really fun. Salamence was great. The Lati twins were excellent! Don't forget Groudon and Kyogre.
  23. Also, battle tower uses hax. I used a different battle tower team (that I didn't post) of Mismagius, Lucario, and Feraligatr; Mismagius, who outspeeds my own Lucario, got outsped by a Weezing who toxiced me, then confused me as I was setting up. Then I missed with Shadow Ball because he was holding Brightpowder (wtf?) and he critted me with sludge bomb. ... Okay, Lucario comes out next since hes specs. Weezing outspeeds and tries to toxic, but that fails (obviously), and I OHKO with Dark Pulse. Out comes an opposing Slowking. Said slowking is weak to Dark Pulse, but it doesnt OHKO; he proceeds to crit me with Surf and OHKO. I send out Feraligatr and dragon dance; OHKO with some move (I dont remember) and then Feraligatr gets OHKOed with a leaf storm. Kill me.
  24. Jiggy, that logic is virtually infalliable. Basically you just said everything I wanted to say about that ridiculously useless document. I don't really have time to comment on each point you made in your document. The main thing that I agree with is the concept that creation came before the creator, and that Science came before nothingness; the idea that Science came before everything. In any case, this debate has seemingly gone back to the original point. I do hope Wraith posts back in this topic, or else there will be no realistic opposition for the Bible side.
