  1. That doesn't make any sense, the stats should be maxed anyway upon form alteration as far as I know.
  2. Emerald has absolutely nothing to do with D/P; there is a generation split between the two. Regardless, the natures remain the same. There is a 4% chance of getting the nature you want. However if you have a pokemon with Synchronize as its ability and the nature you want, the chance goes up to 50%; simply reset and eventually you'll get a good nature. Natures were added in the 3rd generation. FR/LG came after Ruby and Sapphire; as follows, natures were first implemented in R/S. See here. If you fought all the trainers in the game like you're supposed to do, you wouldn't be in that situation.
  3. Since I've already rated, I'm going to reply to Enkidu's rate. P.S. Dimi, Swampert has little offensive use as many pokemon simply have higher attacking stats. Whilst Jolteon is an excellent pokemon, Motor Drive with Electivire serves the same purpose and Electivire gets much better coverage and attacking power then Jolteon. Agreed completely. I suggested a bulkydos set before realizing this was an offensive team (it should have been obvious) and on an offensive team, that set will be much more useful. However regardless, I think he needs something that can properly set up as a lead and would benefit the team while staying offensive. Possibly a suicide lead such as Azelf, although since 90% of all Azelf leads are suicide, its easy to predict. I agree with that set, although Energy Ball might be the most useful of the two; Focus Blast's low accuracy and Gengar's frailty makes it very risky to carry low accuracy moves. Still though, Focus Blast is obviously powerful and is I his only Tyranitar killer that I can see. I agree that he needs a perm sandstorm setup. For offensive, Tyranitar is probably the best choice, although Hippowdon has potential as a lead.
  4. MLG = Major League Gaming. Personally, I think its rather pointless in the Pokemon section and there are so many other user run tourneys that are so much better for all the games they have. Also, towards the OP, MLG uses Smogon tournament rules, so theres no need to use useless items on useless pokemon (no item clause). Gyarados: If you must use a Gyarados, I reccomend not using the freakishly weird build you're currently using. A BulkyGyara would work much better. DD/Waterfall/Stone Edge/Taunt Has anti lead potential and can deal damage. Outrage isnt really worth it as Lum Berry will get eaten up by Twave fairly quickly. For an item, use Leftovers. And for EVs, use 156 HP / 108 Atk / 100 Def / 144 Spe. /smogon Rhyperior: Ooh, scary... Oh wait... Honestly I think that set is bad. And I mean... bad. Lets start off by commenting that Hard Stone is really useless. I reccomend using a Rock Polish set with Jolly & Life Orb. The incredible power allowed by that set along with outspeeding Celebi and Rotom-C and the rediculous ease of getting that set it, coupled by the fact that almost all priority moves are physical, make rock polish rhyperior a true beast. Metagross: Put Lum Berry on him and EVs to 112 HP / 252 Atk / 12 Def / 132 Spe. "The provided EVs allow you to outspeed max speed Timid Choice Scarf Heatran, who is the biggest threat to this set. 112 HP EVs places you at 329 HP, reducing the amount of Life Orb recoil from 33 to 32. One also has the option of dropping HP EVs and adding onto Metagross' Speed; 196 Speed EVs allows you to outspeed neutral natured, base 100 Speed Pokémon holding a Choice Scarf such as Flygon and Salamence, and surprisingly enough, allows you to tie with Modest Choice Scarf Gengar as well." Get EQ on him. Zen Headbut is almost useless; the psychic stab isnt worth abusing, and Hammer Arm IS useless. Consider using Ice Punch, seeing as your team has only one other ice move. Gengar: I was about to say "standard is standard", then I read the moves. Thats gonna need changing. Hypnosis has 60 accuracy. A single miss by it and Gengar will promptly be OHKOed by any physical neutral move sent his way. Not only that but Sleep Clause prevents him from effectively using Dream Eater. Put T-Bolt and HP Fire/Explosion on him. Also consider moving the 6 SpD EVs into Def, although thats nitpicky at best. Secondly, Wide Lens is useless. Even with it, Hypnosis would only have 66% accuracy and Focus Blast 77%; If you must have Item Clause, put Expert Belt on him since he has great coverage with that moveset. Zapdos: Meh... .. I can't see any use to that set whatsoever. It appears your trying to make him a mixed sweeper when Drill Peck is essentially useless and you can't realistically waste a turn setting up Raindance to use Thunder; not only that, but Roost is a waste as any rock type move will OHKO him with that spread. A much more favorable pokemon to be a mixed electric type attacker for you would be an Electivire. Electivire @Expert Belt/Life Orb Mild | Motor Drive 36 Atk / 252 SpA / 220 Spe Thunderbolt / Flamethrower / Hidden Power Grass / Cross Chop Expert Belt is preferable as the coverage with this set is great. The only attacking move is Cross Chop, but Electivire has such a great attack stat that its quite usable. Tbolt and Flamethrower have great synergy and HP Grass makes one of your ownly grass moves. Abomasnow: Hail hurts your team in every way possible and you cant just add someone in because they fit in with the typing; you need to consider the role, moveset, and ability. This team has no synergy anywhere and Abomasnow makes it worse. Lets quickly review all your pokemon. If we take out Abomasnow, you have one ice and grass attack. This needs immediate remification in the form of a powerful Grass type. Unfortunately, those are in short supply in OU; the only ones are Celebi and Breloom. Rotom-C is also a possibility.

  6. Although my reasoning may be wrong (it was assumed), I would like to confirm that Korean games can only interact with other Korean games, and furthermore, Nintendo of Korea events can only be given to Korean games.
  7. One big problem here. All the Johto starters are ridiculously underpowered in the 3rd and 4th generation, being outclassed by almost every pokemon of their type; pure water, fire, and grass types have little realistic use anywhere. Not only that, but moveset can only take you so far. The fact is, no matter what new moves they give meganium, Meganium will still stay an extremely mediocre wall thats outclassed in UU by like 4 different things; Typhlosion will remain the only starter with usable speed and SpA stats; and Feraligatr will remain a Gyarados wannabe on his most usable set. Hoenn staters are not much better, but they have many claims to fame. Swampert has two types, a usable attack stat, and is bulky enough to earn itself a reputation as a bulky lead that can be extremely difficult to take down. Blaziken also has two types. Unfortunately, Blaziken will always remain the underdog to Infernape. His moveset isn't bad though and his base stats arent either. Sceptile is the fastest usable subseeder, along with having a usable SpA stat in UU. Meganium can't claim half as much. The reasoning behind all of that is simple; in each generation, base stats GREW. And by that I mean pokemon evolved and new pokemon came in; only the pokemon from the first three generations that had exceedingly high base stats can hope to compete against pokemon such as Mamoswine and Bronzong. Many new legendaries and ubers provide even more powerful pokemon that replace the sweepers of old; Azelf and Cresselia are prime examples of this. In newer generations, older pokemon will get worse and worse.

  10. Scientists are fairly certain its the missing link. Look at it this way. National Geographic (as of today) has officially proclaimed it the missing link. Thats a massive organization with a big reputation. They don't want to say things that end up being disproven later. Yes, it happens, but it still looks bad. They are pretty sure about something before they announce it, let alone put it online. I'm not going to make a long statement about why I think science can explain everything (and my freakishly sci-fi version of "creation of the universe"), but I might write a novel about it. Someday. Far, far away.

    Pokemon XD

    It was moderately similar on a VERY base level. On another level, Coliseum was the worst pokemon game in the 3rd gen, with most of the models rehashed, many of the environments being shaky and having dreamcast-like edges, and one of the most ridiculously obvious plotlines ever invented. had a bad plotline, but many of the models were fixed up and most of the attacks were changed to not look like a 5 year old playing in C4D. Environments got much better, and you didn't have a stalker anymore (thank the lord). Purifying got better (although it resembled an egg incubator ) and it was much more challenging then coliseum, along with allowing you to start at a lower level, not at level 30.

  13. My AR is broken. I'm getting a new ARDS media edition in about 3 weeks, but for now I'm locked out of cheating aside from Acekard's absolute crap cheating system. My method is to ensure that I don't use any cheats on any ingame playthrough and not cheat. The only cheat I use is infinite money. Once I've played through the game, I use 999 berries & TMs, but rarely anything else; I just use pokesav to edit saves where needed. I reccomend you just stop cheating for a while. You'll get used to not cheating much and it will get much easier in the long run. Also, you'll extract more enjoyment from the game if you get used to playing it the normal way.

  16. I use Premier Balls. My Sporeing False Swipeing Breloom tends to aid this process, and when I'm feeling lazy I just use an AR code for 100% catch rate. Even for ingame purposes I use Premier Balls. Its just more fun that way. I caught my recent Giratina in one.

    IRC Client

    Well I want to actually get into using IRC. I currently have mIRC, but its clunky, it can only connect to one server, and when you start it up you wait like 20 seconds for the stupid popup windows to close. Essentially I hate IRC right now because of mIRC. I need suggestions on an IRC client. These are my requirements: -Can have 3+ servers open at once -Is free -Works quickly, doesn't make you wait upon startup -Looks good -Minimizes to an icon (near your internet icon and sound icon) -Functions fully with Vista 64bit Thanks for your help.
  18. Backgrounds from sigs can come from a lot of different sources. Google for one. However, generally the best thing to do is to make your own. Start with a c4d render (google it, you'll find some cool things). These renders are abstract and are high quality. A good example would be this. (you can play with it if you want) Edit the colors and play with some abstract brushes until you get a result that you like and blend the picture into the background.
  19. This is a UU rain team designed for UU alone. Currently 4-1 in shoddy smogon UU ladder, this team has been moderately working for me. In those 5 matches, I've noticed that Omastar gets outsped even with Swift Swim, that those 8 turns of rain dance are too short, and I need to remember that neutral STAB + rain water moves can be more powerful then SE moves depending on the situation. Omastar generally goes down extremely early game, so I need to focus on keeping him alive. On with the team. --- Spiritomb @Damp Rock Careful | Pressure 252 HP / 140 Atk / 116 SpD Sucker Punch / Rain Dance / Taunt / Pain Split This is my starter, RS blocker, psychic counter, and anti-setup all in one. Not only that, but he sets up rain dance. Damp Rock goes hand in hand with Rain Dance. The EVs are from smogon, and supposedly Sucker Punch has a chance of OHKOing Azelf. Sucker Punch helps make up for his pathetic speed. Pain Split works wonderfully with his low HP to provide fairly good recovery. Taunt works well against psychics who attempt to set up on him, and can be an effective anti-trick room, which I noticed rips this team apart. Ludicolo @Leftovers Adamant | Swift Swim 4 Def / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Swords Dance / Waterfall / Seed Bomb / Ice Punch Yes, a physical Ludicolo. Why? Because I have an exceedingly effective special sweeper that can abuse a higher special attack, and no one expects it. Swords Dance is the main reason this set is more useful then a special set as with quick setup and rain, he'll outspeed most threats and have an extremely powerful aresenal of moves. My Rain Dancers should be enough to make it so rain dance isn't a necessity on this set. Waterfall and Seed Bomb are powerful STABs, and Ice Punch gives excellent coverage against dragon types such as Altaria that might pose a threat with CB or DD Outrage to his mediocre defense stat. Main strategy with him is to only leave him out with rain. If I'm getting stalled, switch him out ASAP because without Swift Swim he has virtually no realistic use. Swords Dance and abuse Swift Swim to sweep. Lack of priority moves in UU makes this set work wonders. Gardevoir @Damp Rock Calm | Trace 252 HP / 120 SpD / 136 Spe Rain Dance / Memento / Will-o-wisp / Focus Blast The use of this set over Uxie is fairly obvious. Firstly, it can actually attack. Thats nice. Focus Blast adds a fighting type move to this team, which is great as a counter to a lot of pokemon, and enables Gardevoir to have an extremely powerful attacking move that can deal a lot of damage to common switch-ins. Secondly, Gardevoir can cripple incoming physical sweepers with Will-o-wisp. The use of that is obvious. Finally, the Rain Dance - Memento combo. Probably one of the reasons I chose this set. Lategame, it can be hard to find a niche for a sweeper to set up. Ludicolo is too frail to find a good turn to switch in and set up in the lategame. Gardevoir can switch into a special attacker and set up 8 turn Rain Dance, which is crucial to the function of a sweeper Ludicolo. Then, she can use Memento to suicide and dramatically reduce the usefulness of any pokemon, which almost guarantees a switch. And even if the opponent doesnt switch, the damage will be minimal. This almost guarantees that Ludicolo will have an opportunity to set up Swords Dance and proceed to (hopefully) sweep and enjoy the lack of priority moves in the UU metagame. Issues with this set is that I now entirely lack Stealth Rock, which means Sashers will be troublesome. Omastar @Life Orb Modest | Swift Swim 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Rain Dance / Surf / Ancientpower / Hidden Power [Grass] Omastar is my Special Sweeper. He also is the third and final Rain Dance setup-er on this team. Rain Dance is extremely important for him as without it he can't really be effecive. Surf is for STAB. Its his main attacking move and will do the bulk of his damage. Ancientpower is a needed rock type move on this team which can do a good job taking care of Ice and Bug types that come in expecting Ice Beam. HP Grass covers fellow water types and ground types. The strategy here is to come in with Rain Dance and sweep. He can set up Rain Dance if the opponent is almost guaranteed to switch. Essentially, abuse Surf STAB + Rain to the fullest with the occasional Ancientpower. Use HP Grass when nessesary. Drapion @Scope Lens Jolly | Sniper 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Swords Dance / Night Slash / Earthquake / Cross Poison Drapion is my second physical sweeper, but his nearly polar opposite typing and moveset make him a perfect compliment to ludicolo. Swords Dance is an obvious choice, and with his excellent typing, its fairly easy to find a niche for him to use it. Night Slash and Cross Poison are obvious STABs, while Earthquake is for coverage. Scope Lens is to allow more Sniper abuse and is a perfect compliment to Night Slash and Cross Poison's high critical hit rate. The strategy here is to abuse his many resistances and excellent defense to come in easily, Swords Dance, and abuse Sniper and Scope Lens to the fullest. He can easily take care of Psychics and Grass types that my team has no realistic counter for. Ice Fang is possibly a better choice over Cross Poison, but the Sniper abuse is very appealing and my team has Ludicolo with an alternative Ice attack. Luxray @Choice Scarf Jolly | Intimidate 252 Atk / 216 Spe / 40 HP Spark / Ice Fang / Giga Impact / Crunch Luxray's low speed makes Choice Scarf a viable choice. Choice Scarf brings his Speed to 384, allowing him to outspeed all Swellow variants and OHKO with Spark. Spark is for physical STAB, and was chosen over Thunder Fang for accuracy. Ice Fang functions as the second Ice move on this team and works well with the revenge killer ideal of this set. Giga Impact is a very weird move, I agree, but its 150 base power is so much more useful then Return in that it can OHKO most anything thats defensively mediocre and doesnt resist it, and it can be invaluable in the endgame. Crunch for coverage.

From what I understood about your question, all pokemon I have migrated through Pal Park onto my Platinum version then transferred onto my Diamond ROM have worked perfectly fine both on their summary screens ingame and on Pokesav. Make sure you are using the newest version of Pokesav, and re-download it incase of a bad download. (sometimes internet screws up downloads because of lag)
  21. Welcome to the forums. =) It appears to be a fine hack. The bytes at 44h and 45h are good and the moveset is legal. However, upon closer inspection, the PID will not work. While it is technically possible to have that PID, its so unrealistic that most people would discount it instantly. Hatched pokemon have no relation between the PID and their IVs. You used the PID > IV generator on Pokesav, which is fine, for wild pokemon. For hatched pokemon, use the Generate button, not the PID > IV. You could use any one of these PIDs: 3627542264 1550270714 3982633714 There are tons more, just hit generate a few times and you'll get an idea of the possibilities. All of these are legitimate PIDs for hatched pokemon. (don't use the Shiny box, those are not legit) Cheers
  22. PID and shinyness are legit. Moveset is legit. Gender is legit. IVs can't be checked for legitimacy because its hatched, and a legit shiny with those IVs is highly unlikely (unless you RNG abuse), but theres nothing to constitute that it would be hacked.
  23. I'll do some quick math for you. There is an approximate 0.01225% chance to find a shiny in each random battle you're in. Chaining it gradually reduces it until a 40+ chain the chance is reduced to 1/200, or 0.5% chance. Assuming you can fight 200 random battles in an hour (one battle every 18 seconds), the theoretical probability of you finding a shiny is increased to 2.5% chance of finding a shiny in that hour. Lets assume you were looking for two shinies in a single hour. Assuming its a perfect split in that you get a shiny at attempt 100 and 200, you would have to use the math 100/8162 squared. This is a 0.15% chance that you would find two shinies in an hour assuming you fight 200 random battles. Yes that math is off, I think, but I'm really tired so dont blame me =(
  24. Sorry for my weak rate, I was very tired and I can't rerate atm. I'll do it later. I agree with Randomspot; you need a usable EQ immunity to pair with Chomp to use him effectively in doubles. I highly reccomend Zapdos as it covers some water weaknesses in your team. However, I dont think CBchomp is a good option for you. Chomp can be excellent as a baseline for your team, as a core attacker; CB seriously limits your options and can be crippling lategame when sacrificing a pokemon to use a different attack is devastating. I highly recommend Life Orb CB for freedom of attack. Finally don't pay any attention to most of my rate, it was suckish and I forgot it was doubles while writing it. I wrote it at 3am though so dont blame me... =| lol sorry I'll do a full rate later, busy atm.
  25. Edit: Please disregard most of the info in this rate. Some may be useful, but most of it would be far more useful and informative in singles, not doubles. I forgot that this was doubles in the middle of writing the rate. Garchomp: =| Thats a weird set. You're much better off with a Swords Dance set. Try: Garchomp @Yache Berry/Life Orb Jolly | Sand Veil 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Swords Dance / Dragon Claw / Fire Fang / Stone Edge Also, he's a bad lead. See below. Hippowdon: Needs to be your lead as Garchomp doesnt do anything for you as a lead. Not only that but your set isn't really going to be useful at all because neither Rock Slide nor Crunch offer any STAB options or reliable attacking power. For a proper Hippowdon lead, you need Stealth Rock at the least. Earthquake is almost a nessesary inclusion, so you may want to consider pairing Hippo with Gliscor or someone with Levitate. Slack Off is fine, and Toxic would work nicely. Use 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SpD for EVs. Armaldo: I honestly don't see the point of a "physical tank" when Hippowdon has way better defenses and utility movepool, not to mention Armaldo having one of the worst speeds in the game. Hes useless, take him out. Lucario: Special Lucario is... bad and that set is disgusting. Specs, Agility, or Scarf Lucario would be SO much better. For Specs, use Aura Sphere / Shadow Ball / Hp Ice / Vacuum Wave. For Scarf, use Close Combat / Stone Edge / Dark Pulse / HP Ice. For Agility, use Agility / Close Combat / Dark Pulse / HP Ice. Magnezone: Why would you use Sturdy... regardless, switch it for Magnet Pull to be able to use it for its only realistic purpose: To kill Bronzong, Metagross, and Skarmory. Use Substitute / Magnet Rise / Thunderbolt / HP Grass and abuse all of them to the fullest. Use Magnet Pull to trap Skarmories and OHKO or 2HKO them with T-bolt. Magnet Rise is anti-ground type moves, although Earthquake will be much less common in the double arena. Omastar: That thing looks horrible... I'd like to comment on the moveset before I tell you to get rid of it. Omastar CAN'T be a Special Wall. It can be a PHYSICAL wall, but not a special wall. Secondly, Omastar is only UU because of Swift Swim and Shell Armor is half useless on it anyway. Water Pulse and Icy Wind are useless. Sandstorm is redundant because of Hippowdon and Earth Power is the only moderately okay move on the set. Not only that, but by definition a tank needs to be able to actually do something to an opponent, and that thing is a trashy piece of crap. Instead, use a Blissey or something that can actually serve as a Special wall, okay? P.S. Omastar ONLY works well on rain teams. Don't use him. Edit: Yay I just noticed I'm an official Team Rater
