  1. Thanks, and NP for the sig. Still, I agree with wraith; you should make your own sig to show what you're capable of and advertise the shop.
  2. Okay, first post edited. Comments/suggestions on my new Vaporeon please & any other suggestions are appreciated.
  3. I'll take that advice. Editing my first post now.
  4. I'd love to help make sigs if you like. I haven't done it in a while. Here's the short version of my portfolio: Banner (rather abstract): Two Sigs: I don't have any interest in running my own shop, but I could help you if you get more requests. I use Photoshop CS2 and Apophysis. P.S. I come with gifts (read post #11)
  5. 1. Nice new sig. Vaporeon sounds great and I love the pokemon but I'm not sure who to switch. I could switch Froslass but she's my current favorite pokemon. I could switch Gardevoir. I'm hesitant to do that since Gardevoir is one of my favorites, but I can't help but think that she doesn't add THAT much to the team. On the other hand, a special wall along with a psychic stab & a fighting type move is quite useful, but Vap would be more useful against fire types. Help?
  6. How is writing ability irrelevant? No one wants a suspect test thats badly written and no one would pay any attention to it anyway. And either way, you seem to be an excellent writer; if you make a good argument, why don't you bring it up for suspect testing again back on smogon, or write a suspect test here for peer review then submit it to smogon? I personally would love to see a good argument against Latias backed up by data. I would love to peer edit it if you make one.
  7. Gardevoir was my favorite pokemon back in RSE, I just had to put her in. Abomasnow's EQ should take care of Lucario but I know I have some big problems with Scizor. Wish on Gardevoir is more designed to ease switching. Fire types will screw me over. I need suggestions for a good fire counter, since Abomasnow can't really do that job effectively with only EQ and a 4x weakness. I think I'm proudest of this team because it isn't just a Smogon copy. Rash on Abomasnow is there because honestly I'd rather have him be attacking then defending.
  8. Finally have the time to start up Battle Tower. Just designed a Hail team. Basically, the difference between the Battle Tower and competitive battling is that theres virtually no switching from the opponent and generally there are few choice items. This team is based on Abomasnow setting up hail and the rest using it to sweep. Overview Abomasnow @ Big Root Rash Snow Warning 252 HP 180 SpA 76 Spe Energy Ball Blizzard Leech Seed Hidden Power (Ground) Abomasnow is my lead (obviously). His EV spread is taken from smogon. I don't really know what its based on, but it looks good. Special build. Energy Ball is a simple special STAB move. Blizzard goes hand in hand with Hail. Leech Seed is excellent for keeping this guy alive. HP Ground goes a long way with Electric types and potentially slow fire types, although thats very risky. Big Root is there to increase Leech Seed's healing, although it seems totally useless at this point. Need suggestions on a different item that isn't already in use. Froslass @ Petaya Berry Timid Snow Cloak 4 Def 252 SpA 252 Spe Substitute Blizzard Shadow Ball Thunderbolt My main sweeper. Simple Sub Petaya set from Smogon. She is blazing fast already and the speed EVs make her a monster. Substitute is obvious for activating Petaya. Blizzard is the main STAB assisted by Abomasnow's hail. Shadow Ball is secondary stab. With Thunderbolt she has perfect coverage and gives her something with at least neutral against steel types. Vaporeon @ Leftovers Bold Water Absorb 188 HP 252 Def 68 Spe Wish Protect Surf Hidden Power [Dark] Wish Support. Wish is a given on this guy and is great for helping my Abomasnow switch in. Protect is good for getting Wish on Vaporeon himself. This guy also acts as my main Fire counter, so Surf is a given and with STAB it works well as a bread 'n butter move. HP Dark is the only dark move on this team, and I think its rather needed as a Psychic counter. There you go. Any suggestions? As a Hail team, Abomasnow is invaluable and can't be switched out. I'd like to keep Froslass as its my new favorite pokemon. Vaporeon is my replacement for Gardevoir and my fire counter. No legendaries (and I mean NONE) since they can't be used in Battle Frontier.
  9. My first shiny was a Ralts in Ruby. I caught and trained it. (I hadn't actually seen a ralts yet so I didn't know it was shiny) Funny thing is, when Wally got his ralts, I thought HIS was a game glitch. It took me a while to realize mine was a glitch. I looked it up and found out how lucky I was. =)
  10. Sorry, atm I really don't have time for a full RMT. I will later. Your Swampert doesn't even HAVE stealth rock. A Fighting type will tear through your team; the only person who resists is Latias and none of your pokemon have anything above a neutral hit against one. Ice types tear through Salamence and Latias and a hail team will have a field day on this one.
  11. That wall of text is a great post, really. I read through it, and found it quite informative. Might be worth submitting for peer review.
  12. In a future console with more flash memory & processing power to work with, this might be a possibility.
  13. I got Diamond the day it came out and I recieved Pearl for my birthday about 3 months later. I bought Platinum 2 days after it came out. = All three.
  14. Novelty? Why not. Absol @ Choice Scarf Super Luck Adamant 4 Def 252 Atk 252 Spe -Night Slash -Psycho Cut -Pursuit -Stone Edge? Scarfed at 374 speed, it'l outspeed anything up to base 120 speed. Switch into any psychic attack with impunity and Pursuit on the switch; Night Slash if you predict otherwise. Psycho Cut allows for a nice countermeasure to fighting types and since scarfed it outspeeds all of them, its worthwhile. Stone Edge is mostly a filler. Any suggestions?
  15. I randomly evolved mine into Jolteon. Big success, a fantastic electric type that gets powerful moves early on and is quite zippy. I really enjoyed my Jolteon.
  16. Honestly, as with basically all ingame adventures, its all about offense. Espeon outspeeds, outlevels, and outdamages umbreon, not to mention every other pokemon in the entire game. If I were to say other, it would have been my Flygon at the end.
  17. That is the definition of owned. Technically you can just play coliseum to get the Doggies for much less trouble. And Blastoise is actually fine for ingame and Venusaur is just annoying as hell.
  18. Squirtle absolutely wins in FR/LG. Charizard is too cliche and Venusaur is ugly as hell, but Squirtle works great.
  19. I just beat the E4 on my Platinum literally like 6 hours ago with a 60 Azelf, 60 Torterra, and 60 Staraptor. Use less pokemon, fight everyone, and you'll be way overleveled with the entire pokedex finished at the end. (I cought Giratina, Azelf, and Uxie at that point) And I used repels from the moment I could buy them. I hate wild pokemon.
  20. My first pokemon game was Ruby. I picked torchic by mistake and played through the entire game with it almost alone. I soloed the elite four with all my ethers and elixirs & blaziken at level 71. Not only that but I knocked out Groudon. Second playthrough was much better, and I very much enjoy blaziken. Not many other fire options anyway. I did my true solo playthrough with mudkip, which was actually pretty fun, but I'd go with blaziken any day.
  21. My favorite legendary in general is Shaymin (non-sky). My favorite catch, however, was Rayquaza from Emerald. After that, Giratina Origin. Fun fight.
  22. I Loled for about a minute when I read about reading the ability Insomnia. Yeah, because there are definitely useful pokemon that have that ability. /sarcasm. Well, I suppose Honchkrow does, but that didn't exist last generation. I don't think its exactly fair to let your team get sleeped by a 100% spore. On the other hand, Breloom only has 70 base speed which is rather mediocre, so it is counterable, on the assumption you can OHKO it? I suppose a Brave Bird might. In any case, sleep clause is useful to no end. If my entire team is asleep, I would just give in out of boredom; no point waiting. It is not official as far as I know. Hmm, maybe I should bring a scarfed Breloom to the Seattle tournament?
  23. A lot of people seemingly have difficulty understanding the point of the tier system. The tier system is designed for the metagames. It was designed so certain pokemon could be banned for a metagame. It isn't designed as a guide for which pokemon you should use, its a guide for which pokemon you can't use. Nothing else. Of course there is some separation based on battle usefulness, but all pokemon have situational usefulness and if you build a team around a pokemon and play it skillfully, it will work fine. The point of the tier system isnt to say that all the pokemon in NU suck, its to say that all the pokemon in Uber are too powerful for the Standard metagame. After all, Entei has a BST of 580 and yet hes in NU. Oh, and for those of you who care, X-Act has an incredible guide on how to rate a pokemon's base stats. Viewable here. @Randomspot; Quite literally, all pokemon have been tested and analyzed. DP has been out since 07, theres been time. Hundreds of new analysis' have been written. When theres an issue with a certain pokemon, its brought up on smogon and people will test it. Everything has been tested and retested; its just a matter of where you look.
  24. In my opinion, your team has 2 big weaknesses. Firstly, if your Zapdos is taken down, your team suddenly can be sweeped by Lucario, Heracross, and Breloom. Skarmory will ruin your team with EQ immunity. Abomasnow will ruin your fun. You don't have anything that can effectively counter a Machamp from sweeping your team with Dynamicpunch or RestTalk. I know I'm not a fantastic RMTer but I'll try. Hippowdon @ Leftovers Ability: Sandstream Nature: Impish (+ Defense, - Special Attack) EVs: 236 HP | 24 Attack | 192 Defense | 58 Special Defense Earthquake Stealth Rock Ice Fang Slack Off An excellent lead that also serves as an Anti-Lead with Sandstorm. Late game, EQ could help you a lot. Keep this guy. Zapdos @ Leftovers Ability: Pressure Nature: Timid (+ Speed, - Attack) EVs: 252 HP | 80 Special Attack | 176 Speed Thunderbolt Heat Wave Roost Hidden Power [Grass] Quite a powerhouse. With perfect coverage this guy could sweep a team. Move the HP EVs to complete SpA and Spe. This guy is going to go down to Stone Edge no matter how many you put in. It might survive one Ice Shard, but that seems unlikely. Leftovers almost seems a waste, but it does negate SS damage which is definitely a blessing. I'm a little confused as to how you intend to use Zappy as a Pseudo Hazer, but thats beside the point. Scizor @ Life Orb Ability: Technician Nature: Adamant (+ Attack, - Special Attack) EVs: 252 HP | 252 Attack | 4 Speed Bullet Punch Brick Break / Quick Attack Roost Swords Dance I have a lot of issues with this pokemon. Heatran laughs at you as he outspeeds your pathetic base 65 speed and hits you with a STAB 4x Lava Plume, as does basically all non-physical fire type in the entire metagame. On the other hand, Bullet Punch is incredibly powerful with STAB, Technician, and Swords Dance. So long as you arent faced with a fire type and basically a forced switch, you'll be okay. You may want to swap out Brick Break for Superpower and Roost for X-Scissor to take advantage of more power and STAB, but thats at your discretion. Vaporeon @ Leftovers Ability: Water Absorb Nature: Bold (+ Defense - Attack) EVs: 252 HP | 252 Defense | 4 Speed Protect Hidden Power [Electric] Surf Wish Not much to say here. HP Electric really isnt worth it with Zapdos and Starmie both having Thunderbolt. Swap it for Ice Beam so you can take care of Dragons a little better (along with Skarmory, although debatably covered by Rhyperior). Starmie @ Leftovers Ability: Natural Cure Nature: Timid (+ Speed, - Attack) EVs: 136 HP | 156 Def | 216 Speed Thunderbolt Surf Recover Rapid Spin Basic Smogon Starmie. RS is a blessing for Zappy and this guy is perfect for absorbing Toxic Spikes or Toxic. Also great against Mamoswine which are steadily getting more common. Rhyperior @ Liechi Berry Ability: Solid Rock Nature: Adamant (+ Attack, - Special Attack) EVs: 4 HP | 252 Attack | 252 Speed Substitute Rock Polish Stone Edge Earthquake Okay I'm going to be honest, I think this guy requires way too much setup. Its basically setup bait for any water type, and horrible typing ruins this guy. With such a massive weakness to HP Grass, I feel he isnt worth keeping. Either switch him to a Choice Band set (not many things enjoy taking a Stone Edge or an EQ from a 614 attack stat) or swap him out completely for possibly a Mamoswine. I reccomend a Curse Mamoswine with Ice Shard and Avalanch which will seriously help out the fact that none of your pokemon have ice attacks. Overall a great team. I hope I was of some help.
