  1. Wow, this thread got extremely long. Great job everyone, I know I'm not all that active, but I do look at all the sigs, and I think everyone here has massively improved since they joined. And kudos to telos, for being totally overworked and keeping a fantastic attitude and quality work output. You may not want to hear this, but you'd do amazing in an office. Also, kudos to the creator, Narwhal. I saw your first sigs, and they were fine, but not great. Your newer sigs not only look good, but they show quality and time put into them, which is not all that easy to show. Finally, a few quick notes. Telos, again, I saw your sigs when you came, and I was thinking, "Are we really hiring this guy?" Turns out it was a good idea. Same goes for you, kunai. You've definitely shown lots of improvement. And Naru-chu, you started good, and you've gotten much better. You have the talent to be fantastic; you just have to develop the skill and experience. Good luck. =) Cheers.
  2. Firstly, in Photoshop, if you make a new blank layer and go Image -> Apply Image, it takes whatever you have currently in all your layers, flattens (combines them), and copies it onto the blank layer. Its for background safety, but it also has some useful stuff, such as using Overlay to darken the image. Secondly, no, the words Feel the Power are supposed to be slightly erased, although you're closer then you think. Finally, sure I'll rate your sig. Firstly, I like how you included the fractal render and I think the main render (image) is blended in well, and looks great. However, I do think you tried to put too much in one sig. The problem with sigs is they're small. You've probably already seen how hard it is to get a lot into a single sig, and thats why I like making larger images, even though they can't really be used as sigs. However, even though theres too much on the sig itself, I think you did a great job making the main render more visible and more important then the other renders, and I also think considering how much is on the sig, it actually looks suprisingly good. But for future reference, its a lot harder to fit quite a few renders into a single sig and make it look any good. Still, great job on that sig. I'll rate it 8/10, because: -Too crowded +Great blending +Use of fractal +Looks impressive =) Cheers.
  3. I'm not doing a full rate (as I just did one), but don't leave Aerodactyl in on bulky flyers. Empoleon is a fantastic counter to Dragonite and Salamence, and if they're stupid enough to stay in, blast them with Ice Beam for an easy OHKO. Magnezone will always trouble Metagross. He has extremely high SpA and STAB T-bolt is too powerful for most Metagross. The best thing to do is to give Metagross a new item like Shed Shell, which lets him switch out of even Magnezone, and send in a proper counter.
  4. I'm going to assume that many of the pokemon here, whos sets are extremely similar to smogon sets, were taken directly from smogon as were some of the descriptions. Many of Smogon's UU sets directly mention OU pokemon. Alright, time to rate. Ninetales: Ninetales is totally standard but shes not a good lead. The strategy seems fine, but some of the most common leads in UU (Electrode, Ambipom, Spiritomb) all easily counter Ninetales. Electrode will outspeed you and Taunt. Ambipom will flinch you then run away to an appropriate counter, or something to suck up Hypnosis. Spiritomb will not outspeed you, but he is immune to Hypnosis, and can Taunt and stall you with Pain Split + Sucker Punch. As such, Ninetales is a pokemon that can easily pull her own weight; unfortunately, she is best used to switch in on a pokemon that can do nothing, attempt to sleep or NP up, and then try to sweep. She isn't all that useful as a Lead. A Lead should set up something that your team can use; that could be almost anything from Rain to Trick Room, although in your team, I can't see enough synergy to use much other then an entry hazard. Ludicolo: Smogon set. Nothing to say. Weezing: Your entire team is smogon, isn't it. Great. W/e. Anyway, I never liked Weezing seeing how easily he is counterable; Haze is fine to get rid of physical attackers who try to stat up. Anyway, I would take him out. Your team needs more offense. Suggestions at the end. Registeel: More smogon. Fantastic. Honestly, I would swap Earthquake for Explosion. Registeel has fantastic defenses, but Earthquake would do pitiful damage to its main counters (any setup pokemon really). Thunder wave is good. By the way, using Registeel makes Weezing even more useless. Honestly I don't see why Weezing is even in UU. =\ Anyway, Registeel is a great pokemon, but put Explosion over Earthquake; Registeel doesnt have enough attack to do significant damage to his counters, and Explosion is powerful enough to take out most UU pokemon that aren't physically bulky. Slowbro: Slowbro works great with Registeel, countering most of Registeel's common counters and taking them down (most of his counters are not specially bulky) with Surf. Anyway, I'm not going to say more here. Claydol: Well... whatever. I don't see any particular synergy from Claydol, but... I don't see why not... Anyway, overall, you massively lack offense and you need a new lead. Firstly, Ninetales is an option, as she adds powerful STAB Fire, NP, and grass. Unfortunately though, you have very few physical moves. Chansey, Clefable, Weezing, and Registeel totally wall your team. As such, you need a powerful fighting type. Blaziken is an excellent option instead of Ninetales, keeping a powerful fire STAB and adding some new Fighting type moves, which conveniently counter half the pokemon that wall your team. Run a physical choice scarf set, and you might aswell copy it from Smogon instead of having me copy over a moveset. For a new lead, you might consider a Nidoqueen running Toxic Spikes. Two layers of Toxic Spikes make a Ludicolo stall so much easier, along with stalling using Registeel and Slowbro's great opposite resistances. I do reccomend running kind of a different set then the Smogon standard based on your team's needs; running Toxic Spikes / Taunt / Earthquake / Poison Jab or Stone Edge (either would be fine, although Stone Edge would probably be more useful, though Poison Jab has higher accuracy, more power [thanks to STAB], and a chance to poison) is a good idea because it offers physical STABs to your team, Toxic Spikes, and a Taunt. Run Lum Berry and Poison Point. Use the standard 252 HP / 200 Def / 12 SpD / 44 Spe, you can read up on Smogon if you want details. Anyway, I reccomend you make some changes and then just go play with it on Shoddy for a while. You will very quickly see UU pokemon that easily destroy your team, and the more you get used to using your pokemon, the more you'll see their weaknesses and what pokemon really don't work. I think Claydol is the weakest link, but thats for you to find out. Cheers.
  5. How sad... However, although unstated, I do see your reasoning, and I wish you well in all endeavors.
  6. I've been refraining from making sigs for a while, because I like the freedom to use a large render and really show off lighting and smudging. Anyway, a different kind of thing that didn't fit into my smudge thread. A few things I know about it: 1. Alienware probably owes me some money. 2. I will never see a cent from Alienware. 3. I have recently discovered that Dell owns Alienware. () By the way, I made a mistake on it. See if you can find it. (stupid apply image =|)
  7. Added yet another spoiler-ed creation.
  8. Giving opinions is fine, as is critiquing. Please refrain from flaming others in my thread though =|
  9. Palkia, because of the three, Palkia is my favorite. Especially because his signature move is actually viable in competitive battling and is very powerful even ingame, along with his excellent typing.
  10. If you are, just tell me. By the way, added two new ones I made today. They aren't sigs though.
  11. Well... for a warstory, you're supposed to put in comments to make it more entertaining.
  12. I'm impressed. That is indeed the best and the most advanced way of doing it, but its very time consuming as well, so be warned. There are other ways of selecting your render, including the Quick Mask tool, which works very well for complex backgrounds and renders with holes in the middle where the pen tool can't reach. For simpler backgrounds, you can use the magic wand tool. Remember to feather your selection, kids!

  15. I made her sig, and I requested my sig to be in the same style. I made my own avatar, and hers is also in the same style. Complete coincidence. And Platinum is indeed compatible with PBR.
  16. Interesting battle... ...... .. Um, Well, I don't know what else to say. Oh, and btw, Latias SHOULD be OU. Just because a pokemon functions well in Ubers doesn't make it an Uber. You know that Shedinja can actually sweep a team of ubers if set up properly, since it resists almost every move you'll see? That doesn't mean it should be ubers. Without Soul Dew, Latias has no lasting impact on the OU metagame to the point where you HAVE to have a counter for it. Latias is like Scizor. You can complain and complain about it, but at the end, you have to realize that Scizor is the best revenge killer in OU and since almost every team has a revenge killer, Scizor becomes omniprescent. Latias has the potential to be an amazing sweeper, no matter how you use her, but she has plenty of counters and isn't flawless.
  17. Well... in theory you could, but its kind of pointless. The main types of pokemon you'd be using Zen Headbutt against (Poison, Fighting) all have generally weaker defenses anyway (with the exception of Weezing). Nearly all of them would take massive damage from STAB Body Slam or Return anyway, and with a curse, it would probably take them down. Also, with a curse or two, Snorlax would have so much defense that they wouldn't be able to touch him with those physical moves, and his special defense is too high to use special moves either, so neither of those types actually pose much threat to you. On the other hand, using Zen Headbutt over Crunch is not worthwhile, because Ghosts are hit super effective by it and they are immune to Body Slam, his main attack, while Zen Headbutt doesn't have any really useful super effectives. As such, its not worth it.
  18. That picture of Gardevoir and Garchomp is simply the most fabulous picture on the face of the planet. So, as far as the team, I'm super ridiculously tired so all I can say is that Latios might work better then Starmie in the slot you have currently; hes still obscenely fast, has higher SpA (so you can run LO and have as much power), has high defenses, and a dragon STAB. Yes it makes you weak to ice, but Scizor takes ice like a champ, then OHKO's back from his obscene attack stat, so... =)
  19. I am, but its free anyway so you might aswell just register. Or you can link the render and I'll reupload it somewhere.
  20. You don't even need to use brushes. Hell, I use a basic round soft brush for everything except smudging. For that I just use a preset cloud brush. And I made your sig with that. =.=
  21. Oh come on, I'll never understand why Subpunch works. I've used it, and every time someone tries it against me, they die. I don't understand why its not ridiculously obvious. It even has -1 priority! My best breloom sweep was a SD breloom with Mach Punch and Seed Bomb (not poison heal, it fails on that breloom), and he absolutely destroyed a team.
  22. Well, for a hail team, Cloyster would work well, especially since he's Chansey's opposite. Also, toxic spikes = win, and just replace Ice Beam with Blizzard and you're set. Use something like: Cloyster @ Leftovers Ability: Shell Armor Nature: Bold (+Def,-Atk) - Toxic Spikes - Rapid Spin - Blizzard - Surf Simple hail abuse, along with rapid spin, STAB water, and toxic spikes. Only Tentacruel can claim as much.
  23. When was this announced? Also this looks awesome.
  24. Setting the country won't change shinyness, it will just make the pokemon legal. To get a shiny wild pokemon, use the PID generator and follow the instructions in the file and on the readme to generate a shiny PID, then put it into pokesav. You can go for either chained shiny or normal shiny, depending on how you want it.
