  1. I am going to DIE if you don't change the banner. The banner has crap quality. Enkidu's original banner was good, but it was downsized and the quality ends up crap. Anyway, I'm on vacation so no avatar making for me. Yet. I'll actually make two random avatars while I have no internet, and post them when I do. But put me on leave until July 30th (like Naru-chu). And my favorite pokemon, for the purposes of this discussion, can be Latias.
  2. Alakazams don't scarf. And generally they don't run timid either, but some do. Anyway, full rate time. And I really don't have time for it. =| Aerodactyl: Standard taunt lead. Start with Taunt, not rocks, for most leads, since you outspeed them. Forretres: Honestly, toxic spikes are almost useless considering what this team is used for. P-z sweeps don't require the opponent to be poisoned; thats a bonus for later, but not useful enough to merit it. I'll reccomend a replacement at the end. Porygon-Z: Agility + NP sets don't work. Even with dual screens, most pokemon can 2hko P-z and outpredict him. Running just Nasty Plot is risky, but pass some Agility, and then you can really make him work. Silk Scarf NP / Tri Attack / Dark Pulse / HP Fighting is one of the most deadly combinations in the game, especially with Adaptability. Tri Attack absolutely decimates after a Nasty Plot, and even before, you can fake Specs. I'll suggest an Agility passer at the end. Infernape takes care of Lucario and Scizor (as stated) so... good. Bronzong: I don't like dual screen sets, but they are the singular best setup utility in the game, so... (just watch out for mixmence) Flygon: I think switching Stone Edge for Draco Meteor is a good idea. Two dragon attacks may seem bad, but Draco Meteor can hit a lot of opponents for more then Outrage, and it OHKOes plenty more then Outrage and Earthquake can. Anyway as a revenge killer, Flygon works really well. Watch out for Mamoswine though. I think for switching out Forretres, you can use a Jolteon fairly well to pass Agility. Jolteon is ridiculously fast, which renders Agility totally useless on it, but for passing, it works fantastically. For a set: Jolteon @Leftovers 6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Ability: Volt Absorb Nature: Timid - Agility - Baton Pass - Thunderbolt - Yawn / Wish / HP Grass There are plenty of cases for 252 Spe Timid on Jolteon, mainly that +1 Gyarados reaches 391 speed and outspeeding that requires Timid. As for the moveset, it counters Gyarados easily and passes speed. As for the last move, Yawn is good for forcing switches to make passing easier. Wish can serve a similar purpose, but with more options for team support. HP Grass is more offensive and I honestly don't reccomend it. Anyway, I havn't played competitively recently enough to go over threats. Ask others. =)
  3. Lets be honest, those pokemon are only banned from tournaments because the evolve after level 50, which kinda makes a problem since platinum doesn't have a level modifier. And secondly, people don't care. Onto the rate. (Sorry, I'm on vacation, give me a break =.=) P.S. Wraith, I wish I lived in france, your TV shows are so much better =( P.P.S. Tour de France ftw For Aggron, I don't particularly see the use of that set. Focus Band doesn't do anything particularly neccesary for him. If he could explode, it might, but otherwise no. Secondly, lets be honest, Aggron is pretty much useless; in effect, the only thing he tries to be is a physical wall, which can't work since hes 4x weak to Fight and Ground, two of the most common physical types. His attack stat is usable, but... barely. Swampert and Metagross (with EQ) can do massive damage to Aggron extremely quickly, will outspeed him, and can easily outpredict his Focus Punch. Knowing that, Aggron should be replaced. An important quality for a lead is to set something up for the team. Stealth Rocks looks like the only realistic thing to set up, and by the looks of the team, I think an Azelf with a standard SR/Psychic/Explosion/FB set would work good in the place of Aggron, giving you more special moves, SR, and a psychic move. You can swap FB for taunt if you want. Secondly, Blaziken. The eternal argument is that Infernape can do what Blaziken does but better, and sadly its true. Adamant Blaziken should never have any special moves, because adamant makes it useless, so Fire Blast has got to go. Honestly, if you must use a Blaziken, you should use a mixed set with at the least a scarf. If you don't like scarf, use an offensive Mild agility set with Agility/FB/Sky Uppercut/HP Ice, which gives you fair coverage and much better speed. Thirdly, Salamence. What in hell is that Salamence doing with a BRAVE nature? You realize that Brave is a -speed nature? If you MUST have a +attack nature, use Lonely, but I reccomend Hasty. Having more speed is much more important on mixmence. Metagross... SPECS? No. If you want a MIXED metagross set, which is exactly what yours looks like, give him a LO, Naughty, and MM/EQ/HP Fire/Grass Knot. That makes him usable, but I would reccomend more a CB Metagross, with MM/EQ/Expl/BP. Much better. And if you insist on specs (which I find useless), give him more special moves. Flash Cannon, Hidden Power, Grass Knot, Shadow Ball, Signal Beam, the list goes on. And get rid of the Serious nature. Use Naughty for Specs, Adamant for CB, and naughty for mix. Dusknoir has uses, and unfortunatly if you want to use a TR team you're going to have to ignore this rate and redo the entire thing. TR teams require atleast 3 Trick Room users, since TR is so short, and your team has only one. I would reccomend getting rid of Dusknoir entirely in favor of something else, possibly more offensive, hopefully more speedy. I highly reccomend Suicune, Starmie, or Empoleon, for some special water/ice moves. Tyranitar is fine I guess. What is an Adherence Scarf? Otherwise, w/e. Cheers, and good luck. P.S. Wraith, technically, his team does benefit from TR. All his pokemon are slow, and it explains Brave on Salamence.
  4. Most definitely Scizor, based on both usage and power. Scizor a ridiculously powerful STAB move in Technician STAB BP, instantly creating a 90 power priority move. Not only that, but he gets access to Superpower, Swords Dance, and X-Scissor, all moves that are ridiculously easy to use and form an extremely powerful combination. Not only that, but Scizor's low speed is countered by BP's priority, and he has exceedingly high defenses, creating an extremely powerful bug.
  5. Since apparently I can't find a request I actually want to fill, I invented one. xP Narwhal, I hope you like it. You don't have to use it, but I think you've had you're sig too long This is also my good bye post. I will be back, and I will check back, but I am going to vanish for the next month. Not that I fill all that many requests anyway, but now I definitely won't fill any. xP Anyway, I'll check back, and critique some of the sigs I like most. =)
  6. This is one of the main reasons (alongside CM Cress) that you ALWAYS, and I mean always carry a phazer around and never back yourself into a corner against a +6 CM or CP opponent.
  7. Seemingly. Try it. It has a lot of features for color text.
  8. Its a program that takes a shoddy log and makes a warstory out of it. I don't remember where I got it, but it has a lot of effects you can put in.
  9. xP Yes indeed I have. The sprite disorder is really annoying, I might just do find/replace in Word to fix it up. And I'm hoping I can make a new warstory before I leave.
  10. This is a Warstory by Illithian vs someone who wished to be named "Coffee Cake Plz!" I'd like to request that those who spectated in this battle keep the battler anonymous. Thank you. This is a 6-0 sweep by a Suicune. Please enjoy. Note: There is a fair amount of Misshax in my favor in this game. Lineup: Anyway, here goes. By the way, for some freaky reason, some of the sprites aren't showing up. I DON'T have the energy to get new ones, and its entirely PP's fault; I'm using the [sprite] commands, so I can't help it. Please bear with me, hopefully it'll get fixed... =( FAQ: Q. You're a noob! A. Fight me! Q. Why did you CM a ton of times at the start? A. Because I wasn't afraid of sleeping, and I couldn't do much else anyway. Q. Why did Surf do more then Ice Beam? A. See final discussion between Wraith and I Q. You're AWESOME! A. Thanks! Q. I want to see more warstories by you! A. Fight me and maybe I'll make one! Q. I want to make warstories of my own! A. Great! Do battles that are fun and/or intense and remember to put commentary. Q. This is too hard to format! A. I entirely agree! Thats why I use a program called "Warmachine" which automatically formats your Shoddy Log. Wraith89 EDIT: Added link to Warmachine ---> click me!! --- P.S. Go look at my artwork! =)
  11. Good job. Do you use Flash or Illustrator? And I assume you use a tablet, I've been meaning to look into using mine more for this type of thing. Anyway, I'll rate it. For the first Charizard, the background flames don't look all that much like flames, but you can tell it was supposed to be flames, and it actually ended up looking okay. The mouth is very well done. Scales are detailed and similar enough to show some time being put into them. Lighting confuses me; at a glance, it looks great, but with some further inspection, some parts of it that should be lighter are in shadow. (Mainly on the back, based on where the light is coming from. I think since the background is so contrasting, its probably better without the blue reflecting on the nose. I think the one without scales looks a little better, and stays more true to the original charizard, but the scales make it look much more realistic, and they are well done. Without outlines is better then I'd expect around the body and face, but definitely not the mouth. I like the pencilled Quilava drawing as well. Charmander just looks messed up with all the sketching lines, but theres a ton of potential there.
  12. Enkidu and ちよ父 are closing down their sig shop anyway. And as explained before, Me and Narwhal's sig thread focuses only on sigs, while Kunai and Telos's avatar thread focuses only on avatars. Furthermore, even if both of us had sig shops, theres no point in hosting a competition. Not only is it rather immature to care whos are better, but making an "art contest" is both pointless and stupid, and if it happenned on a larger forum, I would most likely leave said forum for lack of moderation. Either way, its a bad, bad idea. Please lock this.
  13. This is totally random, but I can answer that question better. Use the Quick Selection tool (W, in the same place as Magic Wand) and switch between add to selection and decrease selection with different brush sizes (use [ and ]) and click to add or decrease selection. Feather it, then you're done. And I'd recommend using renders anyway, so much easier.
  14. Narwhal, this is totally random, but its killing me. WHY do you have the person you're quoting UNDER the text that you're responding. It doesn't make any sense at all. For example, in this post, I quoted you. The quote is on top of the text. Same with everyone else (Telos, Naru-chu, and kunai). Except you. Its just... eating my brain... =.= Anyway, I havn't made a sig in a while, so if I can actually manage to grab a request somewhere between you freaks ninjaing them, I'll make one. Especially since I'm leaving for a month in a few days. I'll check back though, but not all that often (2-3 times a week). So leave me a request plz okay? =D P.S. Narwhal... have you heard ?
  15. Yeah, it makes sense that Pikachu and Raichu would have notched ear forms, but notched ear doesn't fit into those keychain positions; look at Dante's drawing, both ears are showing for the Pikachu and Raichu. Nintendo would make it obvious that it was a notched ear form on a keychain, so I highly doubt its any of the three pokemon you stated. We'll find out. On another note, has anyone pre-ordered them?
  16. Why would they make two keychains for Pikachu and Arceus? That makes no marketing sense at all. Secondly, is it possible that the within first item on sale (メダルA), the second coin has new pokemon?
  17. Every news network in the world is anally covering every instant about Michael Jackson's death, including everything about his doctor. His autopsy shows he was perscribed Demerol by his personal live-in doctor, which has similar effects to morphine. Its similar to narcotics, and its possible that it caused some damage which could be shown in a detailed brain study and toxicology. In any case, I wasn't a specific fan of Michael Jackson, but I think he was an incredibly talented musician and was the reason for most of the pop we have now, so I think its a very sad loss. For more info, see TMZ.
  18. Unfortunately, that means she can only intoxicate one opponent, rather counterproductive for this type of stall.
  19. Which is why I think my method is best. Having a selected group of voters based on competitive skill alone (determined by other voters, or some judges?) is more fair then a deadline. And lets be honest, many people here have been here since April, and quite a few have little competitive skill at the moment. They can learn, but allowing them to vote without some sort of a test is not a good idea.
  20. I personally think that if we decide to run a suspect line (of which we should probably start a new sub-forum thats quite a bit more organized then this thread), we should have something similar to smogon in that they restrict the voters. But not for the same reasons. The restrictions should not be based on how well you can place an argument, but more for your skill and understanding of the competitive metagame, which should be "judged" by several active players on our Shoddy whom have witnessed several battles in which the potential battle has participated (and not necessarily won, but played well). In that, I suppose were becoming elitist as well, but our smaller forum has a better chance of including a far greater percentage of our population within suspect votes.
  21. Syberia, I agree on almost all points, but honestly Yanmega moving from UU to OU makes little difference. Its essentially just banning her from UU, which is pointless as she does play just fine in both tiers. I think its a redundant argument anyway because if she fits in UU, keep her in UU, and she can still be used in OU. And I can't think of any OU pokemon that have a realistic reason to be moved to BL or UU. Its a stretch, but you could make a viable argument for Donphan, Empoleon, Kingdra, Ninjask, and Smeargle to be moved into UU, but it would probably just break the metagame and most UU fans would just cry and complain. As for UU pokemon moving up, none of them are particularly broken at the moment, so I dont see any point.
  22. All of my rates were designed for UU vs UU. Against OU, its totally different, and I don't reccomend it; it takes a massive amount of skill and luck to have any sort of success with an all UU team taking on an OU team. One or two UU pokemon that fit perfectly with an OU team can work just fine, but not an entire team of them. I'm actually worried that my suggestions will make your team far worse in OU, so if you really want to stay in OU, don't change anything... although Nidoqueen lead would be nice. And use Infernape instead of Blaziken, running full physical.
  23. Obviously, the famous greencat stall. Except not executed as flawlessly. Anyway, its fairly easy to counter, even when its unexpected, so I'm surprised at this outcome. Good job. =) Cheers.
