Few things I'd add to Zafur's post: Firstly, technically humans are not part of the animal kingdom. Humans have the ability to reflect upon the past (and future), an ability that animals lack. Secondly, it seems almost dishonest when someone firmly believes in Genesis, but in other parts of the bible act as if they are a guide. And no one answered any of my questions.

I think bumping old threads is against the rules...

I know this will be taken out of context to say "BUT GOD IS LOVE OMGWTF". You believe in god, which you believe is love. He just believes in love. Pure love. No father figure up in the clouds going "Hey, you should do this so you can go to heaven". No carrot on a stick. Just love. Really, if you say "he believes in love so that means he believes in god", I will jump through the screen and hit you. I am in complete and unarguable agreement with this post.

Hidden Power type is determined by IVs. Look at this: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13601 That is the list of the best IVs for each hidden power type. You can also use: http://www.psypokes.com/dex/hp.php That will let you input IVs and find out the hidden power type and power. Play around with it until you find a combination you're happy with. Then go into pokesav and edit the IVs to what you want and the hidden power type/power will be changed.

My own question has been answered. http://www.casiopia.net/PokeMod/TrashBytes.zip

You may have forgotten to edit the level, and if they are party pokemon, you may have forgotten to click max stats. If you could upload and attach the .pkm files, I could take a look and see what the problem is.

Hello, I'm having issues with trash bytes. I recently made a shiny Armaldo. I want it to be fully legal. It is Pal Parked. I haven't tested how the fossils work in R/S, and I intend to soon, but for now, just help me with the Trash Bytes, something I don't understand how to fix. armaldo.pkm

Pokesav is a pokemon .sav file editor that can edit absolutely anything about a save file. You can find more information at the project pokemon website's Pokesav FAQ: http://projectpokemon.org/editing/pokesav/ Also, while you're at that page, look on the right side; you will find in depth tutorials that can help you get started at editing your save file with pokesav. P.S. If you are incapable of getting your .sav file onto your computer to edit with pokesav, have no fear. There are still other options. If you have an Action Replay, you can use Pokesav's Export ARDS Code button to create Action Replay codes that will edit what you want from the save file.

Your PID does not correspond with shiny or your IVs. (I can't believe no one noticed that...)

There is plenty of solid evidence as to why the bible isnt true. Actually, thats not quite correct. There is plenty of evidence as to why some parts of the bible aren't true. Its definitely possible that some parts of the bible are true, but the entire bible is a myth is it not? A story, passed down over generations to the people that wrote it? Regardless. Nothing the bible says supports evolution, and seemingly people that argue against evolution aren't willing to accept that the bible and the idea of evolution can coexist. If you ignore all of this post, before you start flaming my ignorance, please answer me this: I was under the impression that the bible is a story, intended to be a metaphorical guide to life. Am I wrong? If so, then what is the bible intended to be used for? Also, why do people treat some parts of the bible as fact whilst others as a guide? It seems to me that many arguments for the bible actually twist the bible so some of it is fact, and other parts of it isnt. Seems even more confusing to me then evolution, which is widespread fairly agreed on, and biological textbooks don't edit it like you and Okami seem to believe. P.S. Using "bad" language on the internet is not a slip up. It is a form of emphasis.

In all honesty, that article is complete bullshit. Theres so much crap in that article is ridiculous. It basically makes up facts about evolutionists that are NOT true and states that God cannot go with Evolution. Not only that but its saying that the bible is true, which is also complete crap because the bible is a guide to life. NEVER rely on a website of your own belief to prove something. First off, there is no such thing as Stellar Evolution. Thats crap. Darwin never said anything about Stellar Evolution. Darwin was ONLY talking about biological evolution. Secondly, evolution says sun before earth? ... I'm insulted. And I'm serious, thats insulting. Evolution doesnt say anything about that. Evolution talks about SPECIES. BIOLOGICAL evolution. Sun obviously came before the earth; the earth couldn't exist without the sun. Or are you somehow suggesting that our planet (in the view of the oh so wise bible), for 10000 years, magically was floating around and suddenly a sun magically appeared infront of it and the earth started floating around it? Sure. Yeah, thats realistic and all. /sarcasm Dry land before sea: Evolution doesnt say that. Its true. Dry land did come before water. I don't feel like doing the research to back it up, but I'm sure Wraith could, and Okami so far you haven't demonstrated any knowledge of what evolution actually is and encompasses. Atmosphere before sea: Complete crap. Water came before the atmosphere. Sun before light on earth: Wait, what? How could the sun come BEFORE light on earth, if the sun IS light on earth? This website has no credibility at all. There are so many mistaken assumptions on that website that I think I'll never get any of there magazines, and any info you cite from there I'll treat as assumptions crap that comes from a metaphorical guide to life. Edit: That last statement was out of line. I was just a little angered at the one sidedness of the website.

R/S was released in 2002. Almost 7 years ago. In a couple of years, it will be a fairly good time to remake R/S. Red and blue were released to the US in 1998. Firered and Leafgreen came out in 2004. Thats less then a 6 year difference for US release. Its already been more then that for Ruby and Sapphire; thats not "too new"

You couldn't have said that two weeks ago when I actually needed that idea? Okami: Just because a debate is happening, doesn't prevent it from being widely accepted. Look at global warming. Massive, massive debates at one point in time yet it was widely accepted as fact. (don't get me into that one) Evolution is like an infinite jigsaw puzzle. There are billions of pieces to the puzzle. Each piece is a different species. When its fully put together, you can see a record of exactly where every single species in the world at that point in time evolved from. We are not even close to completing that jigsaw puzzle, and while we have extra clues like when a certain species was living based on radioactive and carbon dating, we have yet to find a fossil thats completely out of place and doesnt fit into anything. And when we do find one, there will most likely be another explanation. As far as I can tell, the Bible has no evidence whatsoever to support it.

Need a team for just for killing
Illithian replied to 4evil's topic in Competitive Battling Discussion
Well, if Gengar has proper team support you can make a great set with him. If you have a weather neutralizer (someone with rain dance or sunny day) and a rapid spinner, you can remove everything that might potentially hinder a sash-gar. If no weather is in place, pass Gengar a wish as he switches in to heal SR damage. Tyranitar is killed by everything, thats just what happens when you have a x4 weakness to fighting. -
First team of real consideration (MLG)
Illithian replied to Chaos's topic in Team Building Discussion
Gyarados are not generally late game sweepers, they are early-mid game sweepers that try to destroy some common counters that could hound your team in the late game. Azelf is better off setting up rocks then Taunting, although that depends upon the team; Gallade is simply underpowered and Aero has little use other then Taunt. Basically thats all anti-leading. For this team, he needs a real lead. Weavile is a horrible physical sweeper. Priority crushes his pathetic 45 defense. With Bullet Punch on Scizor and Mach Punch on Infernape, along with Extremespeed and Vacuum wave on Lucario, Weavile can't hope to compete with Ice Shard. CB Weavile is a revenge killer and has no use as a physical sweeper. He has an extremely powerful physical sweeper, Rhyperior. Electivire, like I suggested, is a good choice for a Mixed sweeper, but not physical. Rhyperior isn't just a wall, its an incredibly powerful physical sweeper and you are totally failing in understanding that. The fact is, he has extremely high defenses making him an excellent physical wall to fall back. None of the pokemon you listed can make use of nearly as high attacking stats or defensive stats except Scizors, and Bulky Scizor has no use whatsoever in this metagame. The standard Scizor set is better then any bulky set you could use with his mediocre 100 base defense and 80 sp def. Alakazam is the quintessential trick specs. Fact is, his dwindling use is due to the advent of priority moves. Any neutral priority move with OHKO him. Bullet Punch from Scizor = instant death. He will fall to a similar fate with extremespeed, aqua jet, ice shard, etc. Shuckle might be an amazing wall on a STALL team. This is an offensive team, so shuckle is absolutely, indisputably useless on this team. Next time read what the team is about before rating.- 14 replies

Battle Frontier Platinum: Discussion/Progress
Illithian replied to Darach_Chiaki's topic in Generation 4
Totally cutting into a conversation here, but I just wrapped up Battle Frontier about an hour ago. I think the Battle Factory was the most fun. Its just so random and messed up and actually quite difficult. It was really enjoyable because you really don't know whats going to happen next, and whether or not you should switch pokemon; its quite difficult. The rest were difficult, but not impossible. I used my hail team for most everything. I beat the battle tower starting from nothing in under two hours with my hail team, I found it really easy...- 135 replies

Yep. Great pictures. Well that definitely proves that; Also, it answers my question. If you look between the + and the -, theres a rather large space between them. For defense, it signifies that you are adding negative stats. Such as + -16 would not be interpreted as +- 16.

R/S was my first introduction to the pokemon games. After enjoying Ruby, I bought Sapphire and played through it again. Then I got Fr the day after it came out and I bought Colluseum. I proceeded to buy and Emerald. I had no interest in completeing the pokedex at any point; I was playing the game because it was fun and there was so much to do it in it. I think the longer routes were a blessing for Hoenn; they made everything slightly more realistic. I think Emerald was one of the best pokemon games ever created; its right up there with Platinum for me.

Its almost guaranteed that Johto will have a regional dex in the remake. Also, the omnipresence of egg pokemon is impossible for game freak to ignore; HGSS would lose huge popularity if you couldn't breed in it *cough* new egg moves */cough* among other things, and loss of popularity = loss of money. Game freak needs money atm, badly. They're more then willing to edit gen II to make us happy. And if they aren't, then they'll put in the orange islands like the Sevii islands in FR/LG. I might add that at one point, I never left the Sevii islands in Frlg, which seems kind of sad.

Very true. Some old pokemon had excellent stats, movepool, and typing, and have either found a niche to fill or can keep up with the metagame. By the way, when I said the fastest usable subseeder, I didn't count Shaymin-S as usable.

Those pictures don't work. Upload them properly to imageshack or something that actually works.

I had a super long post written out, but I'm going to burn it down to a few small paragraphs that really show my point. Wraith, since you seem to be the main advocate for God and the bible that hasn't basically said, "I believe in God because its easier just to believe in God and conform," or hasn't posted some totally irrational form of logic, this post is mainly directed at you. In one of your posts, you stated that it was impossible to breed a horse with a donkey. I agree. Can you breed a turtle with a snake? No. This we can agree on. However, could you consider that at one point you could? The embryos of turtles and snakes are remarkably similar. I wonder why this is. Furthermore, if God did indeed plan out everything, then did he really plan for the embryos of all phylum chordata to have extremely similar features, however when in adult stage they are completely different and obviously cannot breed? Could it possibly be that at one point in time, there was just ONE chordata. Then a group of this hypothetical chordata species moved to a different location. Suddenly one of them had a small genetic mutation that allowed him to survive better. Since it was a small genetic mutation, he could still breed with the other chordata species and he did. Then he passed it down to his kids, and they passed it down, and eventually another small genetic mutation happenned, and over time these small genetic mutations in many different environments produced extreme results. And if you must tie this into religion, christianity, and God, then you can! Thats the great thing. Maybe God really did create everything. Maybe he is a transcendent omniscient being that is behind everything in science, humanity, and the world. What if he did create the big bang, what if he is behind evolution, what if he is behind science? If the viewpoint of the church followed a belief that had a little more reasonable logic in my point of view, then I would be religions; however as it is, I have never seen a good argument as to why the bible should be seen as fact. On the other hand, that is a misinterpretation in itself; from my limited knowledge of religion, I was under the impression that the Bible is a guide to living a good life. In that, I must agree. If people interpret the parables in the bible in an intended way that enables them to live a peaceful, prosperous life, then I am all for it. Maybe though, just maybe, it goes a little overboard; in my opinion, the bible wasn't meant to be fact, and it never was; a guide to living your life in parables should never be associated with fact. Science is not fact either. Science is the art of attempting to find fact. Then again, you know all of this. So why aren't you using that knowledge?
