Okay, so first off, Hello! I'm new, hope I didn't do this wrong. On my game (SoulSilver, rom, Acekard2), I enabled the "Walk Anywhere" cheat. I went to Azalea Town, and went north towards Route 34 (avoiding Ilex Forest). On the very edge of the Azalea area (Northwest corner), the Rival is facing North. He can't be interacted with, but he is there. If you interact with anything else you get the headbutt trees message, but not on him. Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone know what purpose it serves? Is this the right place to ask this?

I just bought an AR DSi and i tryed to make a Shiny Eevee using pokesav... i "think" i entered everything in correctly but when i pressed L+R to get him in the 1st slot of my pokemon party, nothing happened. I saved and and restarted but that didnt work either... Should i try to put it in a different party slot or am i just putting things in wrong.... thanks in advance... P.S.- i have soul silver, if it affects anything

Here is a small Guide for people that wish to use custom events on their HGSS games First of all open up Pokesav (Platinum Version) and open the PGT file you wish to use and export the code into a txt format. Now once that is done open it up and delete the top 3 lines and add these ones 94000130 fcff0000 62111880 00000000 b2111880 00000000 e0009e4c 00000104 Once that is done all you have to do is add it to your action replay and your all done.

Greetings, fellow hackers. I come to you with a question. I have located the file containing the different battle backgrounds in HG/SS, located in the pbr folder. However, I am uncertain of what extension these files are, or how to open them. I am asking the forum here if anyone has happened to come across any tools or knowledge on how to open these backgrounds so that they can be edited and shoved back into the narc file. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Just downloaded pokesav for HGSS and require basic assistance on how to save a specific pkmn with specific nature ivs evs moveset and gender/shiny for competive battling (savings legal in our tourney as long as movesets and abilities match) Help please I have an AR DSi but its not currently working Please help thanks:bidoof:

Hi, i have the 03.a or the newest version of pokesav of HGSS but i can not edit the events, i have read in another thread that only one version which has that option is the oldest or the normal but in the downloas site of the pokesav section i can't find it, if i click the normal button to downloas is the 03.a, so i don't know i f anyone has it, that can share it to me, please. Sorry for my english, i'm sure that i made some mistakes. thanks for understand! ... and help!

Sorry for foolish question or bad english. So, as title shown, that's my question and may be you'll ask why do I ask this question. It's because of this thread: http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5164&highlight=Event+Contribution has a HGSS event on PokeWalker Course! I did want it but the newest Pokesav 0.03a did not provide a function to edit the event. Can any one help me?

I looked through all the options and dropdowns in PKHeX, but can't find anything regarding block level for the safari zone. Is there something I am missing? I'm using the latest version. This would be much faster than waiting the 100+ days I would need to wait for specific Pokemon to spawn.

I've attached the files I have of Torchic and Mudkip, but they're regular and not shiny. Checked the forums but unable to find anyone that has them. Hi there. I was toying with HGSS save offsets and it seems that three parts are incorrect in the technical documentation: - battle items - first registered item - second registered item using this save, one can see that first registered item is a bicycle and the second one super rod. But according to listed offsets it seems that something is off - battle items starts at 0xD64 and consists of 31 blocks 4 byte each = 124 = 0x7C. But if this offset is used, then the last item of battle items is bicycle. I've subtracted 4 bytes from this supposed length and battle items were left intact. Then I've modified offsets of registered items so the first one starts at 0xDDC instead of 0xDE0 and the second one starts at 0xDDE. So I think battle items indeed starts at 0xD64, but consists of 30 4-byte blocks instead of 31. If someone would be so kind to verify my findings, as I cannot exclude the possibility of doing something wrong on my side. Though I'm rather confident, given that every other value is looking as it supposed to. So I want to play HGSS/Platinum but I have a really difficult time getting into them because of the absence of the gen IV styled exp share. This is because I don't have a lot of time to individually grind up Pokémon due to school and sports but also because I simply don't like grinding. Are there any rom hacks (that don't change the core game of HGSS/Platinum or change it too much) that would add this? If not are there any tools that I could add it in myself?

Hi ! Since one week, i'm working on replacing Gold's backsprites in HGSS. I've done 2 differents animations : one when the character has a pokemon following him (placed to "a/0/0/6/6.0.RGCN") and another one when a pokemon isn't following him (when you are on water for example) (placed to "a/0/0/6/6.75.RGCN"). I've followed this topic to fix a palette issue at the beginging of the battle but there is still something to fix. I've created 2 versions of "begingining animation", one when a pokemon is following Gold (like this), and another one when a pokemon isn't following Gold (like this). My problem right now is that when i'm starting a battle without pokemon following me, everything works good, but when a pokemon is following me, my sprites mix (like this). I don't really know if there is a way to ensure that sprites are loading separatly. If anyone knows, help would be appreciated. (Btw sorry for my quite not good english)

For example, "CommonScript 2036" and "CommonScript 2038" in script#1 of a Script File 842. (First ever event on overworld) It's the actual thing, see below Script 1: MecScript LockAll Movement Player Action#1 Movement Overworld.0 Action#2 WaitMovement CommonScript 2036 WaitTime 30 0x800C Movement Overworld.0 Action#3 WaitMovement TextPlayerName 0 GenderMessage 0 1 SetFlag 283 PlaySound 1418 WaitSound Message 2 SetFlag 284 PlaySound 1418 WaitSound Message 3 SetFlag 285 PlaySound 1418 WaitSound Message 4 SetFlag 286 PlaySound 1418 WaitSound Message 5 CloseMessage WaitTime 15 0x800C Movement Overworld.0 Action#4 WaitMovement CommonScript 2038 SetVar 0x4106 1 ReleaseAll End As you see, after those two movements ended, a script will run "CommonScript 2036" obviously. And at the top of the bottom four line does "CommonScript 2038". Of course, I tried these commands for original event script but...It hasn't been worked. Hi, first of all, sorry of I keep posting many things here but since I don't find anything on the web, the only thing I can do is ask my questions here, so sorry for that in advance. Anyway, now I just have a simple question (compared to the others I have asked) and this is... how can I edit 3D models (or BMD0 files) in HG/SS? I think many people have worked with BMD0 files already so, maybe, anyone who knows about this, your help would be appreciated P.S. : I'm working on the 3D models located at a/0/1/5, just if I had to be more specific

I recently said that I was going to start hacking Soul Silver and I don't have much experience with rom hacking, and let's say I got stuck (again) with the Pokédex editing, but this time I have to replace the graphics of the Pokédex... On my research I've found that the graphics of the Pokédex are located at a/0/6/8 of the internal files of the game, I checked it with Tinke and yes, the graphics were there, now, I tried to replace the graphics there but once I opened the modified rom, I only noticed the only thing that have changed was the color palette of the graphics, but the original sprites were still there... I've tried replacing the sprites many times but it never worked, I tried to search a tutorial of how to edit the Pokédex's sprites but I didn't find anything... If someone knows how can I edit the sprites located at the HG/SS Pokédex, it would be of great help.

So on my way to hack HGSS (especifically SoulSilver) and to getting familiar to the basics of rom hacking and stuff, I got to a point where I had to edit the Pokédex and I found that the information and help related to editing the Pokédex are very scarce, hours of researching have led to nothing. My intention is not to add new Pokémon yet, but I'd like to know how to modify important things from the information that appears in the Pokédex (like species, type, entries, height and weight) now, I managed to find a way to edit entries and types, but I need help to edit the height and weight of the Pokémon (and also the protagonist's height and weight when comparing). I don't know where to start and what programs I have to use nor the files I have to edit to do this, the most similar thing I've found related to this is a research from Poryhack in which there is an explaniation of the zucan_data.narc, but this one is a D/P/Pt's file. If someone knows how to edit these aspects of the HG/SS Pokédex, it would be of great help.

So i took a chinese hack rom that is awsome as base and import most of the files to a clean copy of SS. After some weeks of work i made it to add some more content of my own and make the old scripts and sprites to work. All the hard work is done but it still have some bugs to fix that i have no idea how to fix so it need some more work but i have a solid base to start showing you guys. Most of the bugs are in scripts and in some trainers in the way (like some of them freezing the game before the battle) Since is my first time doing this im open to help or suggestions from more experienced people to fix the bugs so we can share a competed rom and a whole new experience to the people who loved the features in HGSS like i did. I will show you some screenshots and a short video. Let me know your opinions. I still need to add the text to the game but before that i wanna fix the bugs so dont pay much attention to it. I am working on a ROM hack of SoulSilver and I don't know where to go next. I have 3 things I am looking for help with. I want to add some Team Rocket events in Kanto. Basically Team Rocket would be in all the caves of Kanto trying to find new Pokemon and it would end with the hero having to beat them again on their way to Mewtwo in Cerulean Cave. I was wondering if this is possible. I also want to change how the Elite 4 interact with you when you go through the Elite 4 the second time. It has always bugged me that they act like they don't know who you are despite the fact that you have already beaten them. The last thing I want to do is eliminate all the rock climb areas and turn them in to stairs so they can be accessed throughout the game and you don't have to have a Pokemon with rock climb to get to Red. Can anyone help with any of these?

So after trying to contact, uh, a few people I think it's safe to say they either forgot or just didn't respond in general(imagine) so basically; How would I do something like add a pokemon to the overworld, when you interact with it, it starts a battle with said pokemon? Kinda like Groudon or Kyogre in the Embedded Tower? What are the steps and what tools/resources can I use to help me with this? (If it wasn't obvious, this is under the implication that I have no, no goddamned idea or experience in rom editing or modifying)

I have found the location of my sprites in HG/SS. a/0/0/4. I extract the narc, which I have to add the extension to. This may be the first problem, I am unsure. However, when I open it in PokePic DS, the only images I get are garbled messes. I am trying to make custom shinies for some of my favorite pokemon. Any advice to fix this? What am I doing wrong? Also, for whatever reason, I can't find a version of PokePic that is not in Italian.

Hello again! Ok so I've been working on a Pokemon SoulSilver Romhack and I've now reached the scripting stage. In a small amount of time I figured out how to change the game corner prizes and gift pokémon through SDSME. Feeling motivated with my progress I tried moving onto more complex things. I wanted to make the spiky eared pichu event avaliable without the need of action replay. However then I realised that you need a mystery gift shiny pichu to trigger the aforementioned event. Apparently the game will trigger the event if the shiny pichu in your party has the description 'met through a fateful encounter'. With my very limited knowledge I went through every script function for Ilex Forest trying to figure out what I had to do to trigger the spiky eared pichu event using a normal shiny pichu. However with my limited knowledge I don't really know what I'm supposed to change and the number of functions in the Ilex Forest map are overwhelming. I'm guessing there is a 'checkflag' line somewhere that if I remove should produce the desired effect. If I figured out how to do this then I could also trigger other events that normally require event pokémon such as the giovanni and sinjoh ruins events. If anyone knows how to help then please reply, it would be a big help! TLDR: does anyone know which flag checks for the fateful encounter description on a Pokémon? Or does anyone just have a list of flags that the game uses?
