  1. Inuyouki: It looks pretty good. Its very monochromatic, but it has lots of cool effects. Firstly, the background; I like the mountains and rocks in the background and it does give it a cool texture. I also like the background thing and the cool top and bottom white overlay stuff. Makes it look cool. Unfortunately, the Darkrai just looks messed; it looks totally out of place. Whats with the white edges? The colors fit with the rest of the sig, but its not blended at all, and the white edges really make it worse. If the white wasnt there and it was slightly transparent on the edges it might be better, but its still not very blended. The member's pass looks fine, I guess. The text is okay, but the color is rather bright for the rest of the sig. Overall, I'd give it a 6/10. Not nearly enough blending for my taste. Still the end effect looks good, I'm just being picky.
  2. In the normal sig, if you look at the renders face, it is a normal, proper, tan-peach ish skin color. In the red color balance, in the areas on the face where the shadows hit it, it looks like a dark yellow, an unnatural (and unappealing) shade of greenish. When you did the color balance effect, you could have brought the original face back.
  3. As per design ideas for editing pokemon, I guess I'll pitch. When editing a pokemon, it should be split up between multiple sections, each shown as tabs. The tabs can be top or bottom, or make it an option. The tabs should be split up like this: 1. Pokemon Information - Species - Hold Item - TID - SID - Level - Exp - Happiness - PID with IV/PID & some sort of generator for eggs (make that more clear) - Name - OT - OT Gender 2. Stat Information - IVs - EVs - Stats Edit 3. Contest Information ribbons, stats, etc. 4. Moveset - ...yeah, and PP stuff 5. Meeting and Eggs - Date met - Level met - Ball caught with - Region / language - Marking - Same stuff, with bred pokemon - Egg info 6. Hex and Formes - Hex info (should be automatically filled, and make that noted) - Formes The ability and class should be inherently linked for each pokemon. PIDs should be searchable by type. The IV/PID generator should be much more in depth then the one Pokesav comes with. It should still be pretty simple. You should also take snippets of project pokemon's guide on each function and put them in one of those little mouseover ? icons, where it gives you some info on what to put in if you mouseover. There should also be a "simplified" version for people that have inserted there .sav file. The simplified version should just contain a few tabs: 1. Pokemon Information - Species - Held Item - Name - Level (but not exp) - Happiness (should have a 'default' and a 'max' button) - PID (keep it like the advanced version) - Pokerus - Ability 2. Stats - IVs - EVs (NOT an all 255 button) - There should be a stats edit button, but put a warning on there somewhere and make the max stats automatic 3. Moves - Moveset and PP info 4. Other - Forme - Date met - Egg stuff Make everything in this section more clear, more simplified In any case, keep it much simpler and make everything have a help section. Make the simplified version default but have a settings and make it switchable easily. Try to make a lot of things automatic, although that makes a lot more work... =| Still, kudos for making this. I hope it continues well.
  4. What would Ambipom do for your team? Well, running Sunny Day support is fine, although your team doesn't really benefit from it. =| What about.... (this is insane here) a nasty plot baton passing sunnybeam ambipom. Crazyness but it might actually work. Secondly, you really need a follow me user to support Blaziken. Follow Me has a +3 priority, making it faster then every priority move in the game barring Feint. Blaziken is easily capable of taking down all of the opposing team, although you may want to run Leichi for the extra power because of the follow me-er. Use Togekiss as a follow me person, because togekiss has usable defenses. its a shame to waste the special attack, but if you run an ambipom NPpasser, it might work. I know little about doubles, but a choice scarf mixnite is not a good idea imo. It doesn't work at all in singles. Maybe a support role, but since idk about doubles, that might be a bad idea. As an afterthought, since speed is probably really important, you can run this set for Dragonite: Dragonite @Choice Scarf Ability: Inner Focus (<3) Nature: Mild Evs: 68 Spd 252 SpA 190 Atk (assuming 31 speed IV) - Draco Meteor - Superpower - Flamethrower / Ice Beam - Thunderbolt Interesting set here. Its all one pokemon only moves, so I thought that might help? Anyway, Draco Meteor and Superpower are pretty obvious scarf moves. The rest is whatever Dragonite has access to; unfortunately, no overheat from him, and not much else to choose from. Flamethrower and Ice Beam depend on who you're afraid of, but in general Draco Meteor will do more to dragons anyway. That dragonite set will hit 244 speed with 31 speed IVs, which will outspeed all +speed natured 252 EV base 115 speed people. You miss out on outspeeding Alakazam though. If you're really worried about that, switch the attack and speed evs, which hits 388 speed after the choice scarf, which outspeeds everything under base 125 speed with 252 evs and positive nature. To clarify, that beats +speed 252 ev swellow, weavile (who'll ice shard anyway), and alakazam. Still, thats a lot of power lost in superpower. Anyway, the NP passing sunnybeam ambipom is a pretty good idea. Run something like: Ambipom @Leftovers Ability: Technician Nature: Timid Evs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spd - Baton Pass - Nasty Plot - Sunny Day / Swift - Solarbeam / Taunt Obviously, sunnybeam or swift and taunt. Anyway, ambipom has pitiful special attack, but nasty plot pushes it past 400, which isn't bad at all, and then you can pass it to someone proper. Of course thats not going to be easy in doubles. Still Idk what ambipom can actually do on your team. =|
  5. GL with your shop! =) Not to criticize (instictive), but... damnit, I won't. Well, the tree is... ugh. I'll shutup and leave. Sorry =| Seriously gl
  6. Np Relyte: Your name took me like four tries to spell. I thought porygon had flippers, not wings? (ty for rate) Naru-chu: Ooh I like the new sig. (btw, ty ty for the compliments ) I like the red one more. Actually, now that I look at it, its pretty much a tossup. Both of them look pretty good. The red one has much more flow but the render looks weird, and the normal one has slightly less flow but more realistic colors. In retrospect, I'm not sure which one is better. I'm still going to go with the red one though because I think color is good. In any case, the background looks really good; both sides ended up being really nice and having good effects and blending. It looks slightly smudged, and that gives it a pretty cool effect. The text is... fine. Actually, text is really hard, so I'll let up and say its pretty good; still, the small text is unnecessary. The render placement is cool and the recolor looks almost fine, but you could have brought the original render color back over the face. He looks almost greenish. Also, the stuff you tried with smudging looks like... you tried to blend, which I think is GOOD. But still, I'm not overly impressed with it. Don't get me wrong though, its much, much better then nothing in the way of blending. Advice: For the background, although it looks okay, before starting a sig instead of using a plain black background, put in a gradient. Gives it much more lighting. Also, again the black background behind the c4d looks a little plain. On the left, it works, because the c4d is more pronounced; on the right, its a little boring. As per the blending for the render, I think it looks much better then it would without it, but I do think you could have gone farther with smudging and with distortion effects to get some cool colors from the render on both sides. All in all, I'd give it an 8.5/10, because theres more you could have done, but its a big, big improvement and the final product looks pretty good. =) P.S. Again, I don't use brushes. I smudge.
  7. Hmm, very nice. I've never tried rocketdock. What music player do you use? And since I use a laptop, I've always found it somewhat of a 'scary' idea to run lots of skinning tools. I have 4 gb of ram, and 2.1 ghz 64 bit processor, which... is okay, I guess, but the ventilation on this laptop is totally screwed. Does all your skinning take a lot of processing power?
  8. I don't understand your point. OU is OU because the pokemon in it are stronger then in BL, UU, and NU. Thats why people play it. Tiers exist to separate metagames. If his metagame encompasses every tier except uber and legendaries, thats basically a modified version of OU. Smogon logic has nothing to do with it, its just that Smogon happens to be an exceedingly convenient way of looking at what moves a pokemon can learn and what movesets have proven to be effective. Yes, some prediction logic that I use is 'smogon logic', so just ignore that and move on with the rest. =| Is that so hard?
  9. I guess I'll join this ever revolving totally opinionated discussion that isn't going to change anything. I own all three. I have games for all three. I use all three. Just wanted to say that. Firstly, the Wii. The Wii is a group console. Nearly all the games for the Wii (other then the standard complete crap movie games) are based around group play, and many of them do it really well. Mario Kart and SSBB are the best examples, but I've found a TON of enjoyment in the Wii Sports Resort. Also, the Virtual Console was a fantastic idea by Nintendo. I can say with confidence that Nintendo has the best ideas for how to sell a console. However, the console is based around families and groups of friends, not the current violent teenage generation. Still, the Wii has released titles that I enjoy, and the Virtual Console is always good. Secondly, the PS3. I'd like to respond to a few things. Some people, earlier, mentioned that most people have a dvd player near their TV. My PS3 replaced it. PS3 can do Bluray and DVDs with one of my favorite player interfaces ever, and I bought a special PS3 remote accessory that works amazingly well. Thats another thing, the PS3's controller and add-on system is a hundred times better then Nintendo's, including their charging system. Even better, no matter what you people say, I have played some PS3 games that look truly stunning on a 42" HDTV, and all of them come with dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. As far as gaming experience, the PS3 is the best, by a large margin. However, PS3 has a lot of extra crap that I don't like. The online environment is half-assed. It works okay with some games, but for most, its better to look away. Still though, PS3 has more good games then the Wii, and its price has come down. Its worth it for Bluray though and anyone with an HDTV thats watched The Dark Knight on Bluray can't help but agree with me. Finally, the Xbox 360. Without a doubt, Microsoft has done a fantastic job of attracting the general teenage gamer population with a stunning array of violent, bloody, gory, and excessively disgusting games that after playing once or twice end up being incomprehensibly addictive. Not only that, but the X360 has a sizable amount of games suitable for younger gamers (and for less violent ones). Still though, after playing Bluray PS3 games, its hard to appreciate what the Xbox does. Not only that, but I've gotten the least enjoyment out of my Xbox based on my little appreciation for the popular violent games of today. And my Xbox has broken. The only reason I got it fixed was because my dad works at Microsoft, and brought me to work so I could take a shuttle to the Xbox department and give it directly to the hardware management crew. The online system is stunningly well done, for hardened gamers at any rate. For the rest of us, its just another geek badge for those with too much money. In summary, the Wii is best for party enjoyment, the PS3 is best for when you want to be stunned, and the X360 has the best games. I think having all three is the best choice because theres no way to pick just one and get full enjoyment. If I had to have just one, I'd take the PS3. I rely on it for all movie watching, and full 1080p HD games are hard to pass up.
  10. Since finally someone shares some appreciation for Dragonite, I'll gift it to you. http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/4492/dragonairsigdragonitelu.png Sorry to the rest of you, I'm too tired to quote everything... =| Naru-Chu: Hey, don't beat yourself up over that sig! That was a good sig. It has a few problems, but overall its a really good sig. Firstly, the left side is a mess, and the fractal just looks weird there. Maybe without the face it'd be better, idk. But the right side is really well done, and theres enough focus on the guy in the middle that the two guys on the side that are semitransparent end up looking just fine. And the fractal does end up looking superishly cool on that side. And the main render, intentionally or not, shares a ton of colors with the background, which makes it blended enough for me. I'll give it a 7/10, because the left side dissapoints me but the rest is really good. Oh and you can't read your name. Thats a problem. Relyte: ty for rate. Narwhal: Starfishes are fun, but why would they love me and should I be happy about that? Anyway, nice sig. The c4d render in the background looks badass and I can't fault the color balance, if slightly uninteresting. And really nice use of the arcane runes brushset. Still, I find the sig as a whole to uncolorful for my taste; Keeping some of deoxys's color (if subdued) would have been much better. Still, overall, the background looks really well done. Sorry Narwhal but now I have to talk about effort. To me, the background looks like one arcane rune brush stroke, a copy/paste c4d render, pasted render set to color mode. (and some cool effects on the side which I think look really cool, hence the name cool effects) Still, I don't rate based on effort, I rate based on the aesthetic appeal, and the the sig as a whole looks just great. 7.5/10, only because I think its better then Naru-chu's sig but not meriting an 8 (sorry naru chu). Rate my new sig? (link for later viewers:)
  11. I might as well go in depth. *opens smogon* Anyway, I actually read through your last thread, and I still don't particularly understand why you're stuck on Shuckle when he has little use without proper team setup. Which is particularly irritating in OU, since most people aren't going to fall for Encore. More on that later. However, since you allowed a new lead, lets get to work on that. SR is needed. As a ground weakness, a fire attack, and explosion. I have an idea. Azelf @Focus Sash Ability: Levitate Nature: Naive Evs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe - Stealth Rock - Psychic - Fire Blast / Taunt - Explosion Azelf is an extremely handy suicide lead, but on this team, he can serve a greater purpose later on: protection for probopass and scizor (not to mention easy switch-ins for many EQ sweepers). As a lead, Azelf outspeeds everything except Aero (which are relatively rare). Anyway, normally I would say Taunt instead of Fire Blast in every situation, but your team is alarmingly low on fire moves, which is a BAD thing, because of Scizor. On the other hand, if you put a fire move later on, definitely give Azelf taunt. With that said, lets move on to: Kingdra: Uhm.. aaaahh... weeeell... Honestly, I question Smogon of having Kindra in OU. Not only is it (imho) the most useless dragon on the planet, it just sucks. Really. Well, to be fair, it has uses, but they are far and few between. A Rain Dance Kingdra is extremely difficult to run. Kingdra's defenses aren't bad by any means but to call them good would be a BIG stretch. And his attack? Not so much. Kingdra with Dragon Dance and Rain Dance can work, to an extent, as it gives him plenty enough speed and power to take out a suprising number of people. But honestly, I don't think Kingdra does anything for your team. She was useful for P-z's thunder, but without Zapdos I barely see a use. Although the idea behind her was good. Lets build on it. One of my favorite pokemon in the metagame is Salamence, because: 1. He kicks ass. 2. See 1 for details. Not to mention his movepool. I reccomend a mixmence, since your team lacks special moves. Salamence @Life Orb Ability: Intimidate Nature: Rash Evs: 80 Atk / 252 SpA / 176 Spe - Draco Meteor - Fire Blast - Brick Break - Crunch Crunch can be alternated with roost, but I've never found Salamence bulky enough to make good use of it. In any case, this set gives you back Draco Meteor from Kingdra, adds a Fire move (give Zelf taunt!), and a fighting move. And some massive power that requires zero setup. And some speed. And a counter to many physical attackers. I could go on for a bit. Moving on: P-z Well... =| To be fair, P-z has some massive power behind a Choice Scarf, and is a very effective revenge killer, so I can't criticize. I am of the opinion that there are better options as a revenge killer, but I will not go on that point. In any case, thunder to t-bolt (you really should update the pokemon itself, not just say at the bottom what was changed), and Adaptability to Download. Your main attack usually won't be Tri Attack anyway. Scizor: Whilst one of the most effective pokemon I personally have ever used, I don't really see why you're using it. To add ANOTHER fire weakness? Yeah, SD Scizor kicks the butt out of anyone not ready for it, but unfortunately ever team on the planet is ready for it. I think SD Luke is a much better choice. Lucario @Life Orb Ability: Inner Focus Nature: Adamant Evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe - Swords Dance - Close Combat - Extremespeed - Ice Punch SD Lucario is arguably the singular best lategame sweeper on the planet. One turn setup + 120 base power STAB move + best priority move in the game + coverage = win. That argument has plenty of holes, including Ghosts, but Lucario in general is fantastically powerful. Running Adamant over Jolly is a question of risk and gain. The risk of running Adamant is being outsped by almost everyone and being slower then neutral base 100s. The gain of running it is: OHKO Skarmory OHKO Donphan OHKO Bronzong OHKO Hippowdon (All assuming SR) Hell, thats enough gain for me. Metagross: CB Metagross is one of the greatest physical threats in OU, not to mention a massive defensive boost for your team. Still, I fail to see why you run Bullet Punch over Thunderpunch. Thunderpunch gives you coverage against Suicune and Skarmory, while Bullet Punch as a priority move is rarely useful on a CB Meta set. There are a ton of problems that Metagross comes with him, including free switch ins for: Gliscor Zapdos Swampert Dugtrio Forretres Rotom Hippowdon Choosing to keep Metagross is not a bad idea per se, but it opens a ton of new weaknesses for your team, and unfortunatly since you refuse to use legends you CAN'T ACT ON THEM. CM Latias, Celebi, and Zapdos absolutely destroy most of those pokemon, but your stubborn refusal to use them makes metagross much, much harder to manage. Not to mention a new ground/fire weakness to manage. I really can't see Meta being that useful for this team. However I will not deny that this team needs a powerful physical sweeper. There are two good options I can see. Firstly, we introduce Swampert: Swampert @Leftovers Ability: Torrent Nature: Impish Evs: 252 Hp / 6 Atk / 252 Def - Earthquake - Avalanche - Waterfall / Stone Edge / Protect - Roar This guy can adress a gigantuan amount of problems this team has. Infact, its one of the best matches I've ever seen. Physical Swampert is bulky enough and has the typing to be a pretty good wall. Earthquake and Avalanche form the ground / ice combination (shared by the below pokemon) resisted by only Bronzong (and Surskit, but thats by the by). Swampert also gives your team a neccesary Phazer. For the third move, its a pretty tough choice. Waterfall will do the most damage to levitaters such as Azelf and Gengar, but I would run from them, because the non-lead types often run a grass move. Stone Edge does more to Gyarados and hits flying types for more then Avalanche on average. Protect helps Swampert be a better wall and lets you scout for random grass moves. Option 2: Mamoswine @Leftovers Ability: Snow Cloak Nature: Adamant Evs: 124 HP / 252 Atk / 64 Def / 68 SpD - Curse - Earthquake - Avalanche - Ice Shard Mamoswine is right up with salamence as one of my favorites in the metagame. Tons of stuff I love about him, but he has nearly as much baggage as Metagross does. Still though, Curse enables him to be an EXTREMELY functional physical wall (which pert up there was doing aswell). Two curses pushes Mamo's attack to 788 and his defense to 486, which is basically... insane. Ice Shard will take out Salamence regardless of Curse, and once you get one or two down, Avalanche will do the rest. Avalanche is only 10% less damage towards Gyarados then Stone Edge would be, and thats before any curses. In essence, this guy is freakin amazing. Which of the two you prefer is your choice. Probopass: As far a special replacement, Togekiss works. Latias is best, but oh well. Gengar... would not be my first choice, as hes too offensive for this team. And theres even more options in the physical section too. Snorlax can do it, although I wouldn't use him if you're using Mamo. Gliscor works well, but no special walling for him. Ignoring special walling, Electivire would be fantastic, as would Infernape. Tons of options there. I would reccomend leaning towards the physical side, as its always good to have 3x special, 3x physical, and I don't think Gengar or Togekiss add enough to be better then Electivire or Infernape. --- That ends my rate. I'll add more if I get internet again (or when I get home) if you have more questions. I hope you noticed I did not re-include Shuckle, and that is because I think Shuckle has no place on any OU team whatsoever, and I'm being perfectly truthful. Favorite pokemon and preferences have no place at ALL in competitive battling. If using legendaries is banned how your friends play, thats totally fair, but using shuckle when there are so many better options isn't fair, and if you aren't willing to accept that competitive pokemon is entirely separate then ingame pokemon, where everything can work, then you shouldn't even try. Cheers.
  12. Haha thats fun =) Anyway, I'm almost home! I LOVE the new HGSS artwork and I'm supar excited to make sigs with it. =D=D=D=D=D=D=D=D=D=D=D=D=D=D=D=D=D So I'm in a good mood n stuff, just watched high tide jump off a wall and now I'm all wet =| Anyway sorry that was a random post. lol. =D
  13. It made me laugh (I'm in a good mood ). Seriously though, I've seen WAY worse for a first animation, and I like the blue ball thingy =) So for your first, I'll say 9/10. I'm not going to say what I think of it when compared to other standards The Ninjask one... I like the background, but there isn't enough blending on the Ninjask... =| 4/10 Suicune... actually, I like the aurora beam thingy, and it makes blending less needed. And the background is cool. =) 7/10 The last one looks like three pictures copy/pasted... =\ Thank you! And since I have nothing to do with my life, I'll go look at your deidara sig. (not that I know what deidara is) crap, it was your old sig... nvm then =|
  14. I guess I might aswell do a rate. I'm bored, so whatever. Spiritomb: I'm going to be brutally honest: Spiritomb is a crap lead in OU (which is why hes in UU). Hes too slow for taunt to realistically do anything. Switch Pursuit to Sucker Punch and you can OHKO Gengar (I think?) with it. Really, Spiritomb is annoying, but not troublesome. His defenses aren't high enough to be a true wall in OU. Use a Swampert lead. Much more effective, and counters ghosts / steels troublesome for Swellow. Rhyperior: Rhyper can't do anything. I'm wondering at Smogon, keeping him in OU. In any case, Rock Polish is a fantastic set up move that can enable Rhyperior to actually do something. It does make him viciously fast. In any case, if you can find a niche location to switch him in, and can set up Rock Polish, you have an exceedingly powerful sweeper thats respectably fast; however be extremely careful because Rhyperior is useless as a wall. Switch Stealth Rock for Rock Polish if you use a swampert lead. Swellow: Star of the show. Unfortunately, not a very good one. That set is very well known and extremely deadly in UU, but not in OU. It is walled by a TON of different pokemon, and destroyed by even more; Ice Shard simply massacres Swellow. Scizor, Metagross, and any priority user can take him down, as can DDmence. If Mixmence outspeeds you, you're dead with Draco Meteor. Same goes for all scarfers. Rotom walls you. The list goes on. I can't give you suggestions to replace him though, because hes the star. Hitmontop: Useless. Donphan is a much better pokemon. Use the set described by Enkidu (I think, might have been randomspot). Gyarados: I don't have anything specifically against it, but I think DDmence would be better... DDmence can help set up for Swellow too with Fire Blast and Earthquake to effectively deal with steels. Rotom: Your team doesnt need an RS blocker. A steel wall would be effective though. A few options include Gliscor (massive team ice weakness though) and Hippowdon, which further the destruction of steels. Still, Bronzong walls this team (except for Rotom, but what bronzong would stay in on him?) Good luck. =)
  15. Hmm... I can see what you tried to do, and honestly I think it only half worked. The fire looks weird, if you wanted it to be pointing at something to the side, you should have made the fire much larger. If you wanted it pointed at us, the face is wrong and the fire just looks... messed. Actually it looks messed period. Also, whats with the red thing in the background? It doesn't help and honestly I can't figure out what it is. In any case, the rest of the background looks boring and uninspired, and the salamence isn't blended at all. On the other hand, I'll do what greencat did. Rating based on other sigs here: 8/10, really nice editing Rating based on my standards: 2/10. I place too high standards on blending, and there isn't any. A fair rating would have to be 5/10, since you did do a nice job on editing with the render itself and the fire doesnt look as bad as I complained about above. Still, not much extra effort put in, and it shows, and it hurts the rating a LOT. Anyway, rate this new creation? Not my newest creation (as I have too much free time here) but I'll have them rated one at a time.
  16. Good luck! And I guarantee that you're going to get some jealousy from the other avatar creation thread. Its hard to live with the idea of competition when you've monopolized the requesting business for so long.
  17. Some nice work. Unfortunately I havn't found one of your renders that I like enough to sig. =| Still, all of them are really well done.
  18. A ghost is a good idea. Rotom is the best choice, although what form is hard. Heat maybe, although doesn't do all that much... good Lucario counter though.
  19. THANK YOU for the sig compliment. =D Anyway, I half way agree with what you said. But only half way. One track teams are exceedingly hard to play effectively, and unfortunately most people that aren't really good at battling / prediction can't play them well enough to be effective. Support helps. Short baton passes help. In essence, I agree with all the weaknesses you mentioned; the problem is how do you effectively counter them? NP Infernape is unwallable, although Specs Starmie can OHKO. By the way, I'm more positive then ever that you should make P-Z the NP kind with Tri Attack; without it, hes nearly useless. And never run more then one setup move. One is bad enough.
  20. Yay for post 707! =) One of the longest threads on this forum. Gz Narwhal I don't do enough work here. When I get back I'll focus more, promise...
  21. I feel like I'm post stalking you. Well... when I first looked at it, it looked... mushy... like the person was melting? Kinda?... I guess that was kind of the point though. In retrospect, for what it was made for, 9/10 is more deserving. =) Rate my avatar? (I did it along with my two examples btw)
  22. Did you make that? =3 Its pretty cool. I couldn't draw that =| Anyway, I'd say 8/10; its a little bit messy but it does look cool. Rate mine?
  23. I used to photoshop all my wallpapers, but then my old hard drive blew up with literally hundreds of hours of work, so I gave up doing them. I do wallpapers for my friends though. Anyway now I just use Deviantart, and sometimes find them elsewhere.
