I sincerely hope you simplify your life and all and work everything out. And if that means dropping PP temporarily or permanently, then so be it. But this is The Internet. You can pop in every now and then and lurk. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Your presence here, on Shoddy, and IRC, as far as I'm concerned, is always welcome.

Moving to PP Forum feedback. Though a few misconceptions: Discussing pirated material nets a 30 point infraction (IE "My Pokemon ROM from warezsite.com isn't working :( "). Blatantly asking for or linking to pirated material nets a 50 point infraction. Any of these may be modified at a mod's discretion. I honestly wouldn't consider it beyond the realm of possibility to ban someone right away for linking to pirated material for a couple weeks. Viral marketing is a very obvious form of marketing but it isn't meant to be obvious. The Dark Knight put out a bunch of websites where fans could piece together a bunch of crap, but if you weren't in on the joke/promotion, you'd just be looking at a bunch of creepy websites with Batman themes. -
If you don't post EVs, I'm just going to merge your post into the in-game thread, because that's where it really belongs. Trust me, you're not the first person to think of BP Eevee team.

I use my laptop with a version of Vista. I know many have something against Vista, but I've never had any problems with it. I mean I could downgrade to XP, but that would be re-building my laptop, and why fix what isn't broken? I also have a desktop with XP on it, but I need to re-build that.

Says the guy who can't bother to spell correctly or use proper punctuation. While the US has the most reported cases, in proportion to it's population, other countries are much worse off. Germany has 22,000, Australia has 36,000, and Brazil has had the most deaths from swine-flu. But hey, who needs facts when you can just make a mindless anti-American post? EDIT: so yeah, I was gonna infract/warn everybody who made a post that was low content (IE most on this page). But then I got bored and had something to attend to, so I'm just closing this thread.

It's fake. I can say that without looking at anything other than "ebay." Plat is $35 at most major retail outlets that sell video games. I'd suggest you pay the full price rather than risk purchasing a fake cart used/ebay again.

You can download the Wondercard whenever, and you can receive the item as soon as you can get to any Pokemart in the game. But you'll need the national dex before you can go to see Shaymin. -
So after using the same 3-4 teams (only one of them was really unique, the other 3 were variants with the same premise), I decided to re-construct a Wi-Fi Sandstorm team I used....but from memory. Aerodactyl (M) @ Focus Sash Ability: Pressure EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Taunt - Stealth Rock - Toxic - Earthquake Nothing fancy here. I chose Toxic over Stone Edge to help wear down foes such as Swampert. Stone Edge just seemed to never get used, while I'm at least sometimes able to Toxic. The biggest challenge with this lead is against Crobat and Azelf and other Aerodactyls. With Crobat, I tend to switch out. With suicide leads, I hope for the speed tie and SR right away. Against Fake Out Ape, I SR first and anything else I get to do is a bonus. Breloom (M) @ Toxic Orb Ability: Poison Heal EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Spore - Substitute - Leech Seed - Focus Punch After testing out Seed Bomb over Leech Seed, I stuck with the standard set. At 212 speed EVs, would I still be able to outspeed most Swamperts and Suicunes? Leech Seed REALLY helps if paired up with a Toxic from Aerodactyl, or recovering health for Curse-Tar. Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 252 HP/46 Atk/212 SpDef Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Curse - Substitute - Crunch - Fire Punch The star of the team. I come in on something that's dying or hates T-Tar (I'm really enjoying the increased usage of Psychic that I'm seeing when using the Sinnoh Lake trio and on Scarf/Specs Starmie), Sub up, and see what happens. With Yawn on Vaporeon and Spore on Breloom, I also get a good number of chances to set up on what would otherwise be a threat to Tyranitar (Gyarados). And in an added bit of hilarity, I finally figured out why it sucked so much at taking special attacks. I accidentally assigned all sp Def EVs into sp atk. I'm also testing out Brick Break over Fire Punch, since it'll give me a neutral hit on Scizor, x2 on Heatran, and x4 on other Tyranitars. However, even with that, it also means I lose a good hit on Starmie, Gengar, and also the 20% drop in defense. Vaporeon (M) @ Leftovers Ability: Water Absorb EVs: 252 HP/128 Def/128 SAtk Bold nature (+Def, -Atk) - Yawn - Surf - Ice Beam - Protect I've never been big on Wish Passing, but Yawn passing is just fine with me. I'm having a bit of trouble directly countering Gyarados, so I think I'll be testing out HP Electric over Ice Beam. Scizor (M) @ Choice Band Ability: Technician EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 SDef Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Bullet Punch - U-turn - Superpower - Pursuit First time using this baby and I can see why everyone loves it. I'm not getting as much usage out of Pursuit as I'd really like, but every now and then it helps me finish off a switching out Blissey, Starmie, or Gengar. Maybe I should test out Bug Bite or Knock Off? Claydol @ Leftovers Ability: Levitate EVs: 128 Def/252 HP/128 SDef Bold nature (+Def, -Atk) - Rapid Spin - Light Screen - Earth Power - Reflect Basically my spinner. Spikes/Toxic Spikes can be quite annoying, and I figured this d00d would be best for the job on a sand team. He gets to set up screens too, sometimes, and covers fighting weakness. But with Aero basically stopping Roselia setting up Toxic Spikes, I'm not sure how much I really need this. Otherwise I'd love to throw Bronzong into the mix. This team is winning a fair number of battles, but I think it could be improved. Here's my run down so far: Status absorbing has multiple checks. After Breloom is poisoned it has nothing to worry about and can come in on any status. Tyranitar with a sub also provides a check. Finally, Vaporeon can scout out status with Protect. In addition to that, Claydol can take on Thunderwaves. I'm having more trouble than I thought with Gengar. Scizor can come in and finish it off if it's Specsed or Scarfed, but Life Orbed can fire off shadow ball and finish it with Focus Blast. For this reason, I'm seriously considering switching Vaporeon out for Dusknoir, which would also give me a handy spin blocker. Any suggestions for a set? EDIT: I apologize for the wall-of-text but I'm not feeling very creative right now. Also, link to the SPPF RMT: link

forums Stickied topic about .pkm and event pokemons
randomspot555 replied to Duplicated's topic in Project Pokémon Feedback
I've made stickied topics and announcements concerning various things. I usually still give out infractions despite those notices being there. I think a much more effective method would be to post it on the front page. Of course if anyone bothered to search before posting, it wouldn't happen :\ -

Best Wall, your opinions?
randomspot555 replied to Lugiamaster's topic in Competitive Battling Discussion
Blissey beats it in special walling, no contest. Blissey has better HP and Sp Def base stats, a much more reliable recovery (Wish or Softboiled), better typing (only one weakness), and a better ability (gets rid of status upon switching out). As a sweeper that can also take a hit or two, that's what Cress is suited for. A very wide offensive move pool and good defenses. But to wall? Blissey wins, hands down. -

Power Trick Shuckle is one of the worst ideas. It means now you have pitiful defense instead of pitiful attack. Not to mention it requires a ton of set-up. 1. Pokemon to use Trick Room. 2. Switch in Shuckle 3. Force a switch (and trust me, not many Pokemon are going to think "oh shit, it's Shuckle!"). 4. Use Power Trick 5. ???? You're probably fainted by now anyway. Shucke in a sand storm can take a bunch of hits from both spectrums, can Toxic Stall, Knock Off, but it does take 25%HP loss from SR. -

The problem with Curselax is, depending on the set, it can miss out on a lot of coverage. Especially if it utilizes Rest, with only two attacks, it's not uncommon for Normal/Ground (Gengar, Mismagius, Shedinja all being immune). It can also easily be Roared away, or be set up bait for Breloom. Don't get me wrong, it can TAKE HITS. But it can't wall. Blissey can wall special attacks like no tomorrow, and apparently so can Lugia. But there's simply no equivalent wall like Blissey, for the physical attacks. Skarmory comes close, getting Roost to recover and immune to ground attacks, but it's still 2hkoed by many of the common STAB Close Combat users. Tyranitar is in a similar situation to Snorlax. It needs to set up to take a lot of hits. I love my Curse-Tar. I dump a bunch into HP and Sp Def, then sand storm boosts sp Def even higher. Sub up, Curse 1-2 times, and it's so incredible. BUT Tyranitar's typing gives it...what, 5 weaknesses? And it's not something I can play in the early game because there's only two attacks. -

Official Help/Small Questions Thread for Pokémon HG/SS
randomspot555 replied to Guested's topic in Generation 4
I asked SCV or Sabresite about the in-game trades in relation to D/P/Plat. They said the only thing tied to what you trade them is the level. The natures are (mostly) pre-set, the Trainer ID, ID#, and SID would be that of the in-game trainer that gives it to you, and the IVs are probably random, though I'm not 100% certain about the last part.- 187 replies

Off Topic is for off-topic discussion. Tech help threads are not discussable because it consists of a question and a straight forward answer. I'd recommend that any modding of ipods or whatever, you should direct them to the site where the program originates from.

Pokemon Downloads Hidden/Missing
randomspot555 replied to GreenBanana's topic in Project Pokémon Feedback
OP, the admins of the site have lives outside of running PP. Patience is a virtue. I think it would be helpful if it was noted somewhere on the main site that Event downloads/PKM file system is being updated, but you could've searched the forums and found the answer. Closin dis. -

I'm pretty certain no one has had the Azure Flute released yet. -
With a x4 weakness to rock plus the multilpe weaknesses Flying typing gives it, I don't see it having much hope outside of a lead Pokemon. It's offensive movepool is also fairly shallow. It's one of the many special sweepers that basically needs a good HP to round out a Specs set. Compare that to Starmie, Gengar, and others who can utilize HP, but don't rely on it.

Eeveelution teams are basically Heracross weak, which makes it very wise that Gliscor is in there, since it's the best Heracross counter. Look, I'll show you how horrible Eeveelution teams are: Jolteon: Weak to ground, doesn't resist anything Heracross carries except the rarely seen Aerial Ace. Umbreon: Weak to Bug and Fight. Flareon: Weak to Ground, Rock. Leafeon: Weak to bug. Glaceon: Weak to fight Espeon: Weak to bug, dark, resists fighting Vaporeon: No weaknesses to Heracross, but doesn't resist either STABS either. Now some might say "but randomspot555, Heracross can't take out [whatever]". Yeah, but when there's so many shared weaknesses, that means at leat two of your Pokemon can be manhandled by Choice Scarf Heracross. Meaning now your opponent has 5 others to take care of the 4 you have left. Also, Baton Passing gimmicks suck and are easy to counter. The only way to work Baton Pass (and it still requires a lot of luck) is Mr. Mime, or Ingrain.
