    I didn't mean it as the only factor, we're only talking about the girl character and thats the only part that applied to her in marketing. And you're interpreting it to widely. I probably should have specified, but I figured it was unnecessary. Guested has already said that overalls are very in fashion for girls of practically any age below 30 (ballpark) in Japan right now. Pokemon is marketed towards young children, and Nintendo takes full advantage of kids impressionable minds. You say little girls don't have any interest in fashion, but all the ones I know prove otherwise. They always want those gaudy plastic rings, new clothes, their mothers makeup, and being able to dress up like a princess. Even little girls like cute items and fashion, even if they actually have zero fashion sense themselves. Most of them have their Barbies and other dress up dolls, or whatever the Japanese equivalent is. Nintendo uses the clothes that are popular in the current culture to entice. Kids are also greedy, and if they see something they want with a popular item, they'll bug there parents till they get it, and Nintendo pockets more cash. This is practically Marketing 101, and thinking that Nintendo ISN'T doing this is crazy. lol It's all about bringing new customers with what is hip and trendy. Now I'm not saying this is a huge part of the marketing like you seem to think I'm saying, but money and effort do go into this. You really shouldn't be surprised how much attention is payed to the little details like this by a big company, just so they can make more money. It is ALL about the money. Older kids, and the other demographics aren't as easily influenced purely by the visuals like little kids (why do you think they make coloring books, and picture books =P), they care about features, where a LOT more of their time, money, research and development go into. As for the players clothes turning you away from a series you like, that's asinine IMO. lol EDIT: Damnit, beat by Guested, and with a lot fewer words. -.- I still say its Crys even if she was extremely overhauled. The hair color change has now been done to a main character in every remake, so I hardly count that against her, it keeps the same basic style, and if it wasn't Crys there would be no reason to do so. As for her supposed name, it will probably be Heart in Gold and Soul in Silver, and while Crys may not be the name on top of the list, I'd bet it'll at least be on the list. (Though as Kris, which makes less sense to me, when the other characters are named after their game title and he spelling is nowhere near it. lol)

    You can store your teams in your Wiimote can't you? I thought I read that somewhere, similar to the Miis. If you do that, do you keep the DS Trainer when using your Pokemon in VS mode? PBR has always worked with Platinum, I just dunno why the video suddenly shows the trainer's actual platinum clothes though. Makes me wonder if Giratina, Shaymin, and Rotom would have their alternate forms in that video, if used, cause Diamond was 100% in his Platinum clothes, and I thought those who looked into said there was no data for the alternate forms or trainer clothes? First, Platinum works fine with PBR, so of course you would see BP Scizors once it came out. Guested knows the game works with it, just curious to the visual changes for the most part. So...yeah, bringing up Scizor was really...not that helpful. lol My Pokemon Ranch got a Platinum update, which I am STILL waiting for. -.- Apparently Nintendo is acting like the product doesn't exist and when asked about the Japanese update, they say there is no plans to update their product. -.-

    We already knew that too... Though there is no evidence to the extra Unown parts yet, but I don't doubt they will be in. And the Battle Tower was confirmed as well, as we have been able to Photoshop the Johto map art and reveal the tower under the coulds at Olivine. The tower may have extras and changes, but its there.

    I read Pokemon Special, I know the plot and who is who. But that has nothing to do with my statement above. The trio artwork is from Ken Sugimori, before the manga started. While the manga based Blue on the artwork of the unimplemented female player, its obvious where where it came from first. As in the manga, Yellow has been stated multiple times in interviews to be the first of the main characters that was created by Mato, as they had already used the original 3 kids. My statement above is based solely on the games and Sugimori's work. BTW, how does the trio art look anything like Mato's art style to have you bring up the Pokemon Special manga? Sugimori and Mato have really different styles.

    They seem to do this for remakes. The girl changes fashion entirely, while the guy is just updated, and I guess they toss a coin to decide who's hair becomes brown. The girl character in FRLG was already designed once in Gen 1. The gender choice was originally planned and dropped from the original games, then planned again for Gen 2, but dropped until Crystal. This may end up getting me in trouble as part of the argument, but without being unable to sound sexist, they ARE girls, stereotyped as liking clothes and shopping. Tons of outfits, different styles. It makes for sense for the girls to be redesigned with today's fashions in Japan as a marketing tool to appeal to the the girls that like them. The boys aren't really going to care what their guy character looks like anyway, they want the little monsters in balls that can be thrown out and beat each other up. Sure they may have an opinion on him, but its not really going to matter. lol (Still don't know why she has that hat though... gah.)

Perhaps the recorded audio was worse then what they added? =P Fun Festa videos added, though some are useless for HGSS and this topic, but they tell the story of the cameramans day. =P

    Part of Raikou's sprite can be seen in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQRv6TA0QSg Also noteworthy...Lugia looks freaking amazing bursting out of the waterfall, I hope that is an in game cut scene that then transitions to the overworld sprites, but its likely just in the opening video.

    Finally done. This should theoretically be the last release as well, as long as there aren't any more problems right? Hey, do the contributors get a badge for these? They aren't events, so I don't care one way or the other, just curious.

    Yeah, its Sabresite's program, but it was just recently updated with some of the Pokes from the massive event flooding (well, more than usual) we've had. I'm not sure if it will be updated anytime soon though, he may wait until there are a few more events to program in. Edit: The Miner is in Oreburgh first, and it is triggered by having ANY Arceus in your party, as long as you have its Pokedex data registered. I'm not sure if you have to have the Nation Dex for the Hiker to show up, since they Dex will officially show and register Arceus, or not though. You probably have to have beaten the game and gained the National Dex, otherwise the Event would be diffcult to complete if you haven't reached Canalave yet. =P

    Are you loading both the .pgt and the .pcd? Sounds like you are only loading the .pcd. The .pgt at least has to loaded to generate a Pokemon for the delivery guy to give you, the .pcd isn't required to receive the gift.

    But the new forms can't even be traded between Platinum games. Rotom jumps from its item (and it magically returns to the lab ), the Griseous Orb returns to the bag, and the Gracidea is a Key Item anyway. So unless they provide the 7 items within HGSS, we won't be seeing those forms (without hacking). Now they are doing it with HGSS. the JE Pichu can't be traded, even between the remakes themselves. I'm sure there will be HGSS exclusive items, Rage Candy Bars? Apricorns? Now I'm not saying these mass items, so much unlike the "one of a kind" Griseous Orb will be unable to be traded between HG and SS, but there is a chance any important normal items may not be able to. Just seems like a new trend. I really do hope I'm wrong though.

    For my "import" =P I will be obtaining HeartGold, but once the games come stateside I will be buying SoulSilver. I may buy HeartGold too just to support Johto and to have both games just like I did like 10 years ago, I'll just have to wait and see.

    Seeing how this fits into the topic, sort of.. does anyone know where to track down some of Sugimori's other art? The Pokemon themselves seem to be everywhere, but is there a gallery site or something that hosts all his art for the NPCs, items, the players, etc? Oh yeah, just a note, Kaarosu missed a few of the arts. Deoxys' attack, defense, and speed forms aren't in the package.

    20% boost. Max Special Attack IVs and EVs, 20% boost for the plate, Judgement has 100 power, as well as STAB. Scary. lol (Regardless if you were asking for Arceus or not, I felt the need to say it. =P)

    Well, they show up as normal for me. Both have valid trashbytes, an Orre hometown, etc. BTW, the Pokemon will have Fateful Encounters, but Colosseum won't. As I told Guested though, I'm on a few new medications from a recent hospital visit. I don't remember very well if I sent them directly after Pal Parking them, or if I bothered to dump the whole batch on the Trashbyte normalizer first. I wanna say I didn't touch them, although the Makuhita have invalid bytes since I had to unevolve him from a Hariyama (I wasn't paying attention at the Purification Ceremony >.>). I do know for a fact that Guested will have to check the Pokemon I sent, because after all the Pal Parking and and the little bit of editing I had to do to a couple of Pokemon, as well as unevolve my Espeon back to Eevee, I didn't want to mess with the little guys again for a while. But I gave fair warning for that. =P

    Since Gamefreak is going out of their way to make a lot of things unable to be traded lately, like the Griseous Orb and Origin Giratina as well as the Rotom forms and their items in Platinum, and more recently the announcement that the Jagged Ear Pichu can't be traded. I'm starting to think there wont be any reason to worry about the Apricorn Balls, as they probably won't let them be traded. The GS Ball won't be a Pokeball to catch anything in though. Its supposedly made of a Rainbow and Silver wing to put forth an energy to summon Celebi, but there is no proof of that in game. If its introduced it will only be a key item, and unable to be traded anyway.

    That gold "globe" is the new Itemfinder, nothing more. It just looks more like an actual radar now. The blue "globe" is supposedly the radio feature. Those screens of the dragion trio are from HGSS, they use the same text boxes as are seen in all the other HGSS screen shots with text. You are right that it is just showing them using the moves though. You have to take notice of the Wi-Fi battle icon in the top right corner before saying they are part of the in game event.

    With all the Crystal elements that are being added, Eusine and the Suicune plot specifically, there is no reason for her not to be included. As horrid as the hat is, I rather it be Crys, even if she gained a terrible fashion sense, than introduce a new girl for practically no reason except for to spite her. =P
