  1. I'm not being technically picky, wrong information is what confuses people. Arceus has to be taken to the Ruins of Alph first, its obvious: http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/1426/shinto.png As for the Shaymin article, the last paragraph is just wrong. You can use an Oak's Letter Shaymin if caught on Platinum, and not all Shaymin can transform (Granted all legitimately obtained ones are able to, but for those that hacked the Oak's Letter in Diamond and Pearl its a different story.) Saying so is just spreading wrong information of the Serebii caliber.
  2. The Arceus information still isn't a 100% correct, even going off the few details we know. This is whats on the page: In order to activate the in-game event and receive one of the three legends, you must bring your Arceus to the "Shinto Ruins". When you arrive there, a man will approach you and ask: "Is this the Pokemon from Sinnoh called Arceus?!". He will then allow you to enter the shrine, and it is here that the player meets Cynthia. There is an exchange of words and then Arceus steps into the center of the design on the floor. This causes several Unown to appear in a swarm. An egg then appears and begins to crack. Inside the egg is one of the three legendary Pokémon. And it should be more like this: In order to activate the in-game event and receive one of the three legends, you must bring your Arceus to the Ruins of Alph. When you arrive there, a man will approach you and ask: "Is this the Pokemon from Sinnoh called Arceus?!". This will activate the event at the shrine in the Shinto Ruins, and it is here that the player meets Cynthia. There is an exchange of words and then Arceus steps into the center of the design on the floor. This causes several Unown to appear in a swarm. An egg then appears and begins to crack. Inside the egg is one of the three legendary Pokémon. The Oha Suta video clearly showed the man talking about Arceus in the Ruins of Alph, but the Shinto Ruins are clearly in a snowy location. As for the Shaymin page, it just needs to be cleared up in that final paragraph that the Platinum Shaymin obtained from an Oak's Letter will activate the Gracidea event, as it has a fateful encounter tag, and that only those with fateful encounter tags can transform into the Sky form. Trying to use the Gracidea on a Flower Paradise Shaymin from Diamond or Pearl is useless.
  3. Well then,...yeah. Aside from the obvious running Pokemon, it always seems to me that the the more defensive Pokemon give me a harder time. The Regi Trio, Heatran, Groudon, Giratina. They don't like regular Pokeballs. -.-
  4. I also said the most difficult Pokemon I've fought, I'm following the rules. =P
  5. Munchlax for me as well. Muchlax and Snorlax are the only two missing Pokemon in my Sinnoh Dex on Platinum, as I'm trying to catch all the Pokemon in game without trading unless necessary, like for the D/P exclusives. So Munchlax has been the most difficult to capture, as I have yet to even track one down. The others I just chuck regular Pokeballs at until it works. I usually capture the Pokemon by the 15th ball, but Heatran was more like 70.
  6. I really haven't paid any attention to the main site's articles, since the few I did read had the same wrong information found on other sites as well, namely the Shaymin and Gracidea article on the Platinum page. That bottom paragraph is full of so much wrongness. lol The Arceus article is wrong as well, since you have to take the Arceus to the Ruins of Alph in order to activate the event at the Shinto Ruins, wherever they may be. I dunno about everyone else, but I'm a bit bored in the news lull. Sure we can speculate, but I want confirmed info. lol
  7. I'm finished, just on the way to obtain my Ho-Oh. Even if you don't need it, I want my own. =P These are my touched Pokemon that were in and out of my team: Umbreon - Leveled, new attacks =P Espeon - Leveled, new attacks =P Typloshion - Evolved, leveled, new attacks Hariyama - Evolved, leveled Ampharos - Evolved, leveled, new attacks Misdreavus - Leveled, new attacks Hitmontop - Leveled, new attacks Now most of those, as well as a few others that I had that gained a little bit of experience from having to be sent out in a double battle early on, I can easily fix with Pokesav, no problem. The only one that I'm not to sure about would be Hariyama. Since he and Makuhita have two abilities, if I take him back down to a Makuhita, will I have to change the class and possibly the ability, or will it stay the same? ------------------------------ UPDATE: 24 Pokemon migrated to Platinum, Mt. battle trainer 62. Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza are just tearing through them. I've only had one Pokemon be defeated in 60ish battles so far, and that's cause my Groudon got caught by a Wobbuffet's Counter. I plan on stopping at trainer 70 to trade so I can migrate some more Pokes to Platinum. I won't be trading over all of them till I get the Ho-Oh, as I find it redundant to go through all the linking, connecting, and switching just to transfer the one Pokemon.
  8. I currently have the Gold in the Castle and Arcade, Silver in the Factory and Hall, and have yet to challenge the Tower. I was on my 6th streak in the Factory when my game glitched up and froze, so I was disqualified for not saving before completing the challenge. -.- I got a little ticked and moved onto the Battle Hall for now. I've got about 60 trainers left in the Hall, but it's proved pretty easy so far for my Articuno. Mind Reader + Sheer Cold FTW.
  9. Okay, I just defeated Evice. So after I track down the one Shadow Poke I missed (Ran outta Pokeballs and hadn't saved for a while) and the other 3-4 post game shadow Pokemon, I'm done. So I guess now begins the pain in the arse task of purifying every Pokemon that I haven't already gotten to. I'm thinking of just leaving the game on for the next week and letting "WES" walk in the corner for hours upon hours to purify them, cause I know I don't have the money to keep buying colognes. Afterward, on to Ho-Oh! --------------------------------------- EDIT: 8 Left: Skarmory, Houndoom, Metagross, Tyranitar, Smeargle, Ursauring, Shuckle, Togetic. Half of them are already around halfway purified. Then Ho-Oh awaits.
  10. Lickitung could learn rollout before Gen 4, but we still didn't have a LickiLicky. =P Needless to say, the system has its flaws and not everything can be perfect. I assume the dex will be the original 251 Johto Dex, but unlike FRLG, they won't stop you from evolving your Pokemon if they have an evolution. Granted I'm not saying they will GIVE you a Dusk Stone to evolve you Murkrow pre-National Dex, but they just won't prevent evolution if you happen to obtain one from a trade. I mean, from the looks of things, its not like you can't trade with DPPt right off the bat. They're promoting trading the Arceus, Jirachi and Pikachu-Colored Pichu to HGSS, so I don't see why they would restrict you from the beginning.
  11. I am almost done with Colosseum for the second time. I'm "Duking" it out with the what, 4 trainers before Evice? Though my team isn't all that great and I keep getting my arse kicked during the Evice fight, since I don't want to capture his Tyranitar until it is the VERY last Pokemon. Whats the point of capturing it if I'm only going to lose the fight and have to fight 6 Pokemon the next time instead of 5? Though I can't promise how many of the Pokemon will be untouched without a little bit of Pokesav editing, because purifying Shadow Pokemon in Colosseum is more of a pain in the arse.
  12. Um, it has always been restricted to the first Pokemon in your party. I'm not big on the overworld weather changing though. If I did have a Tyranitar following be, I'd get VERY bored of the same old effect over and over again. Not to mention I'd feel bad for everyone else in the region having to deal with a sandstorm just because I let my Pokemon out of its ball. =P
  13. All three, since I will simply save before the event and go through it multiple times. Though I will save Giratina for last, as he is my favorite, so the save I continue on in will have him as my choice.
  14. First and foremost, GAMES=/=ANIME. Terrible reference point. The manga is better, but still not a good ref. You might as well just give it up. Everyone has their own opinion on this, and you're never going to come to an agreement (except maybe to disagree) on what they were beforehand. The only way we'll ever know is if you ask one of the creator's who dealt with this part of the plot, or if they answer it in HGSS. As it stands right now, you really only have three options: 1. They were some random Pokemon that inhabited the tower when it was all nice, standy and not burnt, like a Rattata or a Pidgey, who were unable to escape in time. 2. They were a Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. You may not imagine them in the Burnt Tower, but it did look like the Tin Tower once. Maybe they were wild, or maybe they were owned by a Monk or a Kimono Girl in the past. 3. They were the legends themselves Raikou, Entei, and Suicune who were, for some reason, too stupid to get out, died, and were returned to life. (Yes, even Entei the big bad flamey volcano Pokemon.) They were said to be nameless Pokemon that perished in the flames 150 years before the current GSC-HGSS plot. And when resurrected they were the embodiment of the lightning that struck the tower, the flames that burnt it down, and the downpour of rain that extinguished the flames. That's it. The legend was meant to be vague. What they were beforehand wasn't that important, it was the resulting transformation/rebirth and connection to Ho-Oh that was meant to be the focus. I mean, I dunno about you, but I'm tired of checking the thread and seeing the same back and forth of "They were Rattata(Or other small helpless Pokemon" and "No, they were the first gen Eevee evolutions." I mean, you are totally free to banter back and forth with the same arguments and getting nowhere. lol I just though maybe you guys could convert the effort from here into another topic.
  15. Yeah, either "Red" caught him in the Kanto games, or when you defeat him he "flew away, deeper into the cave". Anyway, some people on Serebii have been playing around with the Johto Map in Photoshop and they managed to remove most of the clouds that are covering the new area west of Olivine. Seems to be the returning Battle Tower from Crystal, or a watered down Battle Frontier(less likely), or something totally new(very doubtful).
  16. I know the is a Honey Tree code in the official Topic, but it says its for the Valley Windwork's Honey Tree. Well, that tree isn't one of my Munchlax trees, so I was wondering if there is an alternate code for different locations? Infinite Honey Tree Pokemon Modifier: Honey Tree is always shaking with a Pokemon you selected beforehand on it. Available for alternate locations besides the Valley Windworks. Preferably Fuego Ironworks, Route 211, 215, or 210 (South).
  17. Um,..its a Pokemon. Less than 300 bytes of data. And you are on a website who's main purpose is to provide, at least those with the means, the special Pokemon to everyone. Why are you acting like its a HUGE deal? Everyone has the right to complete their Pokedex if they so chose to. My opinion at least.
  18. I'll be stuck at three stars for good then, cause i don't do contests and I have no reason to go underground.
  19. I could maybe see a jaggedy Pikachu, but Raichu, just no. I'm really hoping that the Jagged-Ear Pichu doesn't just evolve into the notch tailed female. The gender difference jumping from the ear to the tail would just be weird.
  20. To be able to obtain one in the first place? An evolved JEPichu would still keep the possible hex values that change it to that form, so breeding from that JEPichu would be the only way to obtain another one? As I'm sure none of the wild Pokemon from the Pikachu line would have the hex values for the Jagged-Ear form.
  21. No, I'm pretty sure they were specific that the JEPichu is to be female. I'm not ruling it out, I just doubt it. As to the multiple JEPichu, I'm sure there would be. I'd expect it from breeding at least. But since Pichu can't breed, you'd have to evolve it, and if it evolves into a normal Pikachu, well then I dunno. They'll do something? lol
  22. I wonder if there will be differences to the Jagged-Ear Pichu available within HGSS depending on if you use the Pikachu-Colored Pichu or one of its evolutions, kinda like the ZAPRONG Elekid available in Pokemon . The official website says a Shokotan Pikachu or Raichu will still activate the event, so I'm wondering if the JEPichu will have a different moveset or something if you don't use the PCPichu like originally intended, and instead use one of the evolutions.
  23. People really don't read anything, do they?
  24. No, and no offense to anyone, but they've been slow to update the main site with a lot of the news recently. No problems with that though. People have lives, and I'm sure they like to make sure they have all the facts first before posting inaccurate stuff as soon as it pops up.
  25. The database technically already has it. I posted the WC parts in the contribution thread almost immediately after I downloaded it this morning and proved to Guested that it was a full Wi-Fi event. =P
