    There were a few spots in the early patches that just made no sense what-so-ever, completely ununderstandable by man, but most of those were fixed in the later releases. Though the Platinum/Griseous Orb was still ??? in the item list, unlike the Vs. Recorder Gracidea which were translated...even though they weren't in DP.

    No, we have the English files for Pokemon, Attacks, and Items (at least any that aren't new, like apricorns) from DPPt, they then create a patch that replaces said files in HGSS with the DPPt files. Thus, any text that is the same between games is then "translated". The rest stays in Japanese, jumbled jargon, or ??? marks.

    That was Emerald. You had to use the Gen 1 games to get the Kanto Starters, Kanto Fossil Pokemon, Bird Trio, Mewtwo, and possibly Mew on the Gen 2 games.

    Correct. Sinnoh is practically 100% Hoenn is about 25% Johto will likely be at around 75% once ripped. Kanto is unknown, depends if they use Johto trainers around around Kanto. -.- Fiore is 0% Almia is 2% Orre is 0% Okami, I'd really like that too, especially is it were a good one. =P As of right now though, there are no plans to make all the directions for these trainers. I really just want to get the fronts out of the way. Once I get the design down for all of them, then I might do the other 2 directions.

    Nowhere does it say that the truck they used to deliver the stuff to the house came all the way from Johto. They probably came by ship to Slateport or Lilycove and then drove the truck to Littleroot, afterward the truck returned to where it came from...where ever that may be. And even if the truck id come from Johto, they could put the truck on a boat. You can handle off roading just within Hoenn...which is what they'd have to do even if they took the routes, since ,as already mentioned, there are no real roads.

    Apparently you have never gone off roading. You don't need a road to drive, though it usually helps. =P

    I've always wanted a uniform Pokemon World uniting all the generations, but that will never happen within the games. The closest thing I can do bring together all the sprites from the Pokemon world into one style. Battle sprites would take for ever, so overworlds are the next best thing. The only complete region right now is Sinnoh (though a few extra characters from outside the games are being made once I find pictures), and though you won't find all the actual sprites that were extracted from DPPt, you will find all the characters. Certain people, like the Psychics for example, had the same sprite for both genders. I removed the hermaphroditic sprite and modified it into the two split genders. Included characters: Kanto (Gen 3 and 4) Johto Hoenn Sinnoh Orre (Both games, one template) Fiore Almia Pokemon Island (Pokemon Snap locations) All Regional Pokemon Version 1 Version 2 Version 3 Disclaimer: Some of the Hoenn sprites were originally made by a member of Deviant Art named Kymotoniam who has allowed free use of them. All of said Hoenn sprites have been remade by me though, as Kymotoniam only uses a Pseudo-DPPtHGSS overworld style on the sprites, shrinking some of them to a set of 4-5 uniform body styles and lacking the appropriate colored outlines instead of shades of black.

    I really don't remember where I got it from. I had done a Google search earlier for コトネwith Pokemon and Pocket Monsters and the list came up and had Gold's supposed name as well. It is the same as Bulbapedia now that I look at Kotone's page... might have been a copy and paste job then. -.- Oh well, I'm just going to stop speculating myself, its less than a week till the game is released and I'll have the answers. No point wondering right now. lol

    I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to editing a DS ROM, so honestly I'll probably have to be treated like I'm a 4 year old invalid. Okay, so you know how once you choose your gender, the character you don't pick is put into the support role? Well, I hate their names. lol I'd like to change them on all three games, but I have no idea what files would need to be edited or what tools would be needed to do so, or if editing the hex would be the only way to currently do so. Pearl - Lucas to Diamond Diamond - Dawn to Platina Platinum - Lucas to Diamond Possible? Impossible? Hard? Easy?

    The supposed list in order is: コトネ (Kotone) ミキ (Miki) ゴールド (Gold) ハート (Heart) シルバー (Silver) ソウル (Soul) Oh, and the boys default name is supposedly ヒビキ (Hibiki), likely with another default name and then Gold, Heart, Silver, and Soul. If they are going to change Gold's default name as well, then I'm definitely staying with my Kotone = Crys theory.

    I'm still convinced its a Crystal redesign, but Pokemon Sunday revealed her name to officially be Kotone. I don't really care about the games name choices though, cause I still call the characters by their Pokemon Special names May is still Sapphire, Brendan is Ruby, and Kotone/Kris are stil Crystal. lol

    That was directed more at SCV saying that they would have the Distortion World if they included Giratina than your joke. Possibly the same reason we never get full Coro Coro scans until the release date? I mean the people have the magazine, why not just scan the whole thing? I'm not100% certain myself that that "manual" is real, but I'm hoping it is. I want my Kanto Birds back in Kanto. lol

    None have shown up in sights so far. I don't check 2ch myself a) because the only Japanese I understand is the "turtle" symbol on Goku's gi =P and b) is the obsessive amount of porn. lol Not that I'm offended by it or anything, its just simply too much most the time. If I do come across anymore, no matter where I find them at, I'll let you know. I had actually been sitting on those scans for more than a couple hours now, I just figured other people had seen them and someone would do the posting for me.

    No, I meant it to imply that that was my thoughts as well, except that I don't live in Japan. I seem to have forgotten to do the first part! I know YOU live in Japan, you couldn't play the HGSS demo otherwise...unless it was a vacation with a very specific purpose. =P I haven't seen that EXACT one, its much more detailed than the versions I've seen with normally only 4-5 images. I actually like this one a lot more than the others, and its pretty good at proving its point. I actually think that if the character had kept the blue hair like how the second to last image shows, people would stop debating if it was the Crystal girl.

    Kyo, since when have games = anime? Besides the fact that the anime draws ideas from the games, most stuff follows that pattern. The anime rarely ever inspires anything for the games. just cause the anime shows something first doesn't mean the game team didn't have it first. And as for Deoxys, it has only been available in game at Birth Island within the same generation, meaning its the same Deoxys in FRLG as well as Emerald. Take what I'm saying with a grain of salt, it was just what was translated from a scan or Pokemon Sunday about the next championships. How reliable the translation, or more specifically the meaning, is, I dunno. This last tournament was supposed to be platinum exclusive the same way the next one is HGSS exclusive. How strict they were on the Platinum Pokemon only rule, I dunno.

    HGSS take place before Platinum, the Red Gyarados of Johto is known of in Sinnoh, meaning the Lake of Rage incident has already happened. (I know the TV report was removed from Platinum, but a guy in the Battle Frontier mentions he taped it in Platinum, so it is still canon.) FRLG - Emerald -- 3 years -- HGSS - Platinum Cynthia came to Johto to get the Secret Potion she was carrying with her for the Psyducks headaches, and even helps along the event to help the player gain a member of the Dragon Trio. I could see a Cyrus cameo in the game possibly gathering minions for his plans to create a new Eden, but its not needed. If he was smart though, he'd follow the player and Cynthia to gain one of the Lv. 1 dragons, I'm sure they are easier to handle than their Lv.47-70 counterparts. lol Speaking of which, Giratina if created from Arceus and is hatched from an egg for you with its orb. I know it has the orb, I just dunno if it is born with it or you obtain it within the temple. Distortion world is unneeded, and slightly out of place. We don't need HGSS - Platinum Edition. We really don't have to worry anyway, Famitsu says there was no real surprises to the main story line. As for all these legends being made available in HGSS, it all so you can have them Lv. 50 or under for the next tournament. Platinum birds were Lv. 60 and unable to enter, but HGSS birds, if really included, will likely be Lv.50 or lower like most the other Legends, including the Weather Titans. Anyway, there is proof for about half the current Legendary Pokemon that they aren't an exclusive species, so why would most the others be exclusive? The only ones that really present a problem are Arceus, Mewtwo, and Deoxys.

    No, by that logic the 3 pixies and Dialga/Palkia/Giratina in their respective game are event Pokemon too, as most of the climax of the story revolves around them, but they aren't event Pokemon. They have a story plot based on them, but that's all. Event Pokemon, even in game, are dictated as ones that can't be captured without outside means: ie) The Platinum Regi Trio need the special Regigigas, Darkrai needs the Member Card, Shaymin needs Oak's Letter, Arceus the Azure Flute, etc. back through the generations.

    In the Japanese Diamond and Pearl, there is a glitch where ditto is allowed to keep the moves it transformed with. I don't know the specifics, so I can't really help you. Though for anyone else that can, the guy wants Aqua Jet and I believe Belly Drum on his Azumarill.

    You can abuse the RNG, but it will NEVER hatch shiny within the same game it was received in, because the check when it hatches will change the PID to one that results in a nonshiny Manaphy. Then you would have wasted all that time and effort. You HAVE to trade the egg to get a shiny, but you can abuse the RNG in the game you got it in to provide a PID that will result in a shiny in the game you are trading to.

    Heatran and Cresselia weren't event Pokemon. They didn't require anything special to obtain them, they were just Nation Dex Pokemon. Now Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, and the Regi Trio were in-game event based Pokemon. Anyway, we already know there will be some event Pokemon: Dialga, Palkia, Giritina, and Jagged Ear Pichu for starters. You can almost bet there will be an in-game Celebi unlocked via an item from Nintendo. Mewtwo, Latias, Latios, Deoxys, Mew and Shaymin have chances at being available too. You might be able to consider Rayquaza an "event" Pokemon since you can't get it in game without both Groudon and Kyogre. BTW, the Arceus being switched in for a scratched Mew event is pretty ridiculous,... though I suppose its not entirely impossible. Arceus may have originally been intended to only be available directly from Nintendo. Buuuuut, I still don't buy it.

    Well, the colors are for sure in the pictures on the HGSS site, the shadows on one stat are red, while the other is blue, compared to the standard black/grey. As for your demo experience with the stats, it is just a demo after all, maybe its not implemented in that build?
