  1. I would like to be able to keep all caught Pokemon, but only submit one for the contest. Granted it was cool to have a fun event to do every couple days, but I didn't like having to choose between which uber-bug I wanted. lol Terrible choice for competitive people, catch shiny Caterpie, or win contest with Scyther...choices, choices. =P
  2. That water ball was held in place using a psychic attack, don't think it would work that way anyway. I'm almost a 100% sure the Pokemon will move just about the same as they do in Mystery Dungeon, just a different graphic style and less effort. =P Like how Arceus just floats up and down behind you and doesn't move his legs. I know he's PokeGod and all, but would it kill him to actually walk? lol
  3. Well, I'm almost done with the game. All 83 Pokemon Purified, traded for Duking's 3 Pokemon, have caught all but a female Surskit from the Pokespots (I will find you!). All that is left is for me to clone a copy of the Togepi to trade back to Hordel, find that female Surskit, and then challenge the 300 trainers at Mt. Battle for all 3 Johto starters. Earthix, you don't have access to a flashcart or an Action Replay? I mean there is already one of the Lugia's in the database. Eventually I'll post them, or at least send them to those who want to study the Gamecube algorithms. If Guested wants them for the project as well so they can all have the same OT, then I don't mind. If you really want him, you can have a clone, but you'll have to wait a while. He's not my first priority in trading over and Pal Parking. lol ----------- EDIT: I do have one thing to note though. I may have terrible luck when trying to catch a Munchlax on Platinum, but I swear that little ass has eaten my Pokefood about 30 times now in 4 days. -.-
  4. EDIT: Any Arceus will work as long as it is registered in your Pokedex it seems.
  5. One word: Dunsparce. Right this second though? Shadow Lugia was a pain... -.- Wouldn't stay in its ball! He is nice and snug in it now though, after being outsmarted by an Electabuzz, Salamence, and a weak little Lv. 24 Skiploom. lol I assumed the Kanto bird trio would be a pain as well, but only Zapdos didn't like his cage. Still, he was no where near as bad as Lugia though.
  6. Set the "Hometown" to the Hoenn game you want, and then the location to PalPark.
  7. I'm playing Gale of Darkness right now, so I'm after Lugia, not Ho-Oh. lol In the event that you did mean Lugia, its no big deal. If i really wanted him THAT bad, I would just change from using a standard Pokeball to something more effective, like a Ultraball, Timerball, or my Masterball. (Its my own fault that I'm not catching him, I know that. =P) Thanks for the offer, but this is just part of the fun of the capture. A legendary is something that should be difficult to obtain. (Frustrating as he is, the last ball I threw before posting rocked 3 times, then he got out -.-) --------------- EDIT: Shadow Lugia is officially mine. He is nice and snug in his Pokeball after being skillfully captured by the Shadow Electabuzz, Shadow Salamence, and a weak littel Lv. 24 Skiploom to put him to sleep. lol The best part is that since Greevil is using all Shadow Pokemon, and my goal is to capture them and not knock them out, using the Shadow Pokemon is fine. They resist other shadow attacks, are gaining no exp since they aren't defeating anything, and most of their attacks are better. I love Shadow Half. Onto the Kanto Trio and the other creatures... lol
  8. Its a huge pain. lol I'm currently destroying Citadark Isle, and so far I've gone through the game with nothing but Pokeballs. I've caught every Pokemon up to Lugia (WHO WON"T STAY IN HIS BALL! -.-) except the Solrock I accidentally killed with a critical hit. These legendaries with catch rates of 3 are a pain in the Gamecube games. I'd have had him by now on a GBA or DS. I'm not looking forward to Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres now either.
  9. Then no offense, but you simply won't understand, even if we explain it to you. Playing from the original RBY generation, and then getting GSC, there was nothing like that fresh jump into the new era of Pokemon. None of the other games have given me the same feeling of excitement on the first play through. Gen 1 was mysterious, I didn't know exactly what I was getting into when I first got Red. Gen 2 was just pure excitement. I had already played Pokemon and gotten familiar with it. The idea of a new region with new Pokemon, and TONS of new features, it was great. Gen 3 I wasn't even originally going to pick up. But once I hear FRLG were coming out, I picked up Ruby to see how much had changed in preparation for my return to Kanto. It was good, but it was more like only a feeling of curiosity. Gen 4 was a mixture of Gen 2 and 3. Excited to see how they would handle the transition to the DS, and a bit curious on what would happen to all the Pokemon I caught in the 3rd Gen, as trading between generations had seemed to be a lost art before hand.
  10. I have multiple saves for Platinum. Kanto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are organized by their Regional Dex numbers, as I caught all Pokemon in the Dex's, not just the new ones for that game. Any Pokemon not in the Regional Dex that I captured in the game, are given their own box. Orre is organized by the order in which you can capture them in the Gamecube games, while my Events file is organized by country and order they were given out. Johto will be completed once HGSS is released.
  11. That's probably about the time I'll finish 's main story. I recently got some money for the 4th of July, so I broke down and bought it yesterday because of my OCD of having uniform OTs. Though 300 fights at Mt. Battle isn't exactly something I'm looking forward to. It'll be nice to see the project up though. besides WC contributions, it feels like there hasn't been an update to the event Pokemon in forever.
  12. I've read the basic idea for this somewhere before, but I don't exactly remember where. I know the games =/=anime, but I'm sure the HGSS team at Gamefreak gave the animation studio the design and basic details/info on the Jagged-Ear Pichu. This is easily proven in the fact that Shaymin's Sky form and Giratina's Origin form as well as the idea for the its home dimension premiered in a movie before the game, and we know the game was in development much longer than the movie. In the 12th movie, the JE Pichu is only in the past once the characters travel back in time thanks to Dialga. So what if the Pichu we find at Ilex Shrine is actually from the past and brought to the future by Celebi? Maybe the old man we saw in the event was the Pichu's trainer once upon a time ago? I would love the return of the GS Ball and a miniature Time-Warp event for Celebi, and definitely wouldn't mind the PC Pichu-JE Pichu event being kind of tied together with the Celebi event. Granted they really only have crossing information and nothing from the Pichu event is required to activate the Celebi event in case you never got the Pichu's. Something like this: Pikachu Colored Pichu transferred to HGSS - Possibly some NPCs in Azalea mention an odd colored Pichu that used to be spotted in Ilex to hint to take the Pokemon there. You take the PC Pichu to Ilex Forest, and once in front of the shrine, the JE Pichu pops out from behind the shrine and instantly becomes friends/rivals with your PC Pichu. The two begin to race and and after coming back, a few steps behind them is an old man. The man may say something like "I was wondering what all the ruckus was. Oh! What's this? I used to have a Pichu just like like that one with the jagged ear, but one day she just disappeared." The Pichu will jump and walk over to the old man. "You mean you are my Pichu?! Hm... I wonder if this is the will of the Guardian of the Forest? My Pichu used to often play with one the same color as yours, they were very energetic. I am too old to take care of her now, will you do me a favor and raise my Pichu?" You answer yes, and the the old man thanks you and asks you to take good care of it as the JE Pichu joins your party. I also know that if the PC Pichu evolves, that the event still activates. If you use a Pikachu or Raichu, the text will simply change to reflect which one you own. You obtain the GS Ball in HGSS- Like before, there is a NPC or two somewhere that mention how Kurt not only makes Pokeballs from apricorns, but also likes to collect and examine strange Pokeballs (the item description also mentions its a strange ball that wont open). You then take the GS Ball to Kurt who asks you for some time to examine it. You then go back and he says how he has never seen anything like it and can't even get it open. His daughter can run in and mention how Ilex Forest has suddenly changed. Kurt will run outside and mention how the GS Ball is giving off the same kind of feeling as the forest, and perhaps you should put the ball in the shrine of the guardian. You take the ball to the forest and place it in the shrine, and almost instantly you are warped back in time. You can then explore the forest ,but can only go back to Azelea because the forest hasn't had a path cleared through it. You return to Azelea and are greeted by a younger Kurt who mentions how funny your sense of fashion is. A guy then runs by asking if you have seen a Pichu with a cute Jagged Ear. Kurt says no and the guy asks if you will check the forest while he and Kurt check the route to the east of town. You agree and the guy and Kurt head east, Kurt will remain at the edge of the town to prevent you from leaving by telling you to check the forest. You head back to Ilex and find the JE Pichu and Celebi playing. As you walk up to them, Celebi gets spooked and warps the Pichu into the future to protect her and then challenges you to a battle. You then capture or defeat Celebi and it either teleports you back to the future with it out of friendship or without it out of fear. Something like that anyway. I just know I like the longer events than just, walk with item to spot, Pokemon arrives, battle, end.
  13. Confirmation long ago that both birds will be available in each game, it was in like the second or third news blurb that we received about the games.
  14. There is no proof to say that Lugia and Ho-Oh will be fighting in the movie, it was just a teaser to show off the Pokemon, which is easier to do in battle. They may actually end up fighting it out in the final film, but we dunno yet. I personally hope not, I like the two more as peaceful coexisting legends. I have to say though, I wasn't expecting to wake up and find Movie 12 and 13 info on Pokebeach as well as some tidbits about HGSS (that we probably won't see for ourselves for a while). Pretty sweet.
  15. I normally just hack a Pokemon catching machine once I beat the game and have nothing to do but fill the dex. =P Wobbuffet - Shadow Tag False Swipe Dark Void Recover Spite (For opponents who use recover.) If I feel like doing it legit though, there is always my Crobat with Mean Look, Hypnosis, Roost, and Air Slash.
  16. I would personally guess that it has to be returned to the game it was transferred from originally, similar to My Pokemon Ranch, especially since the Pokewalker uses infrared is in the HGSS cart and not a form of the DS wireless. Though right now, there is no info to really answer your question for certain at the moment, as far as I know.
  17. I wasn't very excited about anything they showed this week, really wasn't worth a mention IMO. The Shiny Gyarados was already 100% expected, and them showing it to us blocked out is more of an annoyance than anything. I understand its for those who haven't played the Johto games, but still. As for the Pokewalker, it really wasn't anything we didn't already know. except that apparently the Pokemon don't gain levels on the device, and all exp is added to the Pokemon upon transfer back to HGSS. Anyway, expect an update to the official HGSS site, a CoroCoro leak, or something before next Sunday, as Pokemon Sunday never really shows information first. So expect another source to "confirm" the Shiny Red Gyarados before the next show.
  18. I used my SID. There was no way I was using a random one and only having half of the right trees. Feel free to tell me if there is a mistake somewhere in my method. These are kinda like my rules.. I always slather all 4 trees. I check all trees before I begin slathering, but... If a tree doesn't have a Pokemon on it, I slather it right away. If all trees have Pokemon, I slather a non Munchlax tree before returning to slather the others. July 4th, 2009 (Platinum) Attempt 2 - Fuego Ironworks: Aipom Route 210 (South): Cherubi Route 211: Cherubi Route 215: Burmy Attempt 3 - Fuego Ironworks: Aipom Route 210 (South): Burmy Route 211: None Route 215: Heracross
  19. No, I could easily breed one of my, like 8, Snorlax on my other saves? ...is Snorlax plural in it of itself, or ...nevermind. But I'm trying to capture all the Pokemon in the Sinnoh Dex in game, with out trading. Obviously this excludes the other starters, the Glameow, Misdreavus, Murkrow and Stunky lines, of which I traded from another game and then breed them to have that games OT. As of right now, all that us left is Munchlax and Snorlax. -.- And they just have to be the pains in the arse. I know you said not to ask... but that is just a little strange. More so than a hermaphroditic Azumarill, since the gender shift to Marill is 1:3 to 1:1, they occasionally change sex, but your Burmy hast done the impossible. lol July 4th, 2009 (Platinum) Attempt 1 - Fuego Ironworks: Wurmple Route 210 (South): Combee Route 211: Combee Route 215: None ...-.-...
  20. That's not even fair.... I've caught all of the honey tree exclusive Pokemon except for Munchlax...and its been MONTHS. Not that I've been trying just for Muchlax for months, but I restarted my game to recapture all the Pokemon, and I was slathering every tree to get all the exclusives. And within that time, I haven't even seen a Munchlax. Once the calculator came out and I had caught everything else, I've only focused on those 4 trees, and still no luck. Is there some way to abuse the RNG on this like there is on what seems like everything else? lol
  21. I fully understand that it is only 1% (basically 0.01% if you slather the same tree that didn't have one immediately after the battle) chance on 4 trees decided by your TID and SID, unless even Bulbapedia's huge in depth guide on Honey Tree calculations is wrong. But I doubt that seeing how SCV and Sabresite practically wrote that article as far as I know. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Honey_tree
  22. Then why don't you just save in front of the trees, then when you find a Combee, you can soft reset until its a female?
  23. I don't know how many of you would actually be interested in this, but I thought it would be fun to note how lucky or unlucky we are with Honey Tree Pokemon. I know that there are a few of you out there actually hunting for Munchlax off the trees instead of breeding one, and with that 1% chance of finding one, you'll probably be looking for a while (Just like me). July 3rd, 2009 (Platinum) Attempt 1 - Fuego Ironworks: Burmy Route 210 (South): None Route 211: Burmy Route 215: Combee July 4th, 2009 (Platinum) Attempt 1 - Fuego Ironworks: Wurmple Route 210 (South): Combee Route 211: Combee Route 215: None Attempt 2 - Fuego Ironworks: Aipom Route 210 (South): Cherubi Route 211: Cherubi Route 215: Burmy
  24. You're a little late. I posted the terrible quality one when it was first leaked and Klaatu got the clean quality one before you. ------ As for the trailer itself, my thoughts on the stuff in order of its appearance. I'm really diggin the Ho-oh and Lugia start screen, Lugia more than Ho-oh though, as IMO it has a bit better of a render. The Pokemon starter selection screen is pretty sweet. Nice to see them using the 3D engine a bit more than just opening a briefcase. Ecruteak is getting more and more annoying to me. While I like the golden trees, I feel its a bit more of an overkill. The map showed the orange trees more around the towers then all around the town. Unless I get used to it more while playing the game, I will be staying out of the town unless I need to be in it. Not much to say about single Ecruteak City and the Slowpoke Well shots. Cyndaquil does a dance in front of the Burnt Tower, that's kinda cool. But I won't be talking to my Pokemon very often. lol While that looks like a Bery Tree, I wouldn't be so sure. I don't understand why Berries will have grown from their own plants for 2 generations now, and then mid Gen switch to being picked off their own tree. I wanna go with Apricorn Tree. :\ I dunno, we'll have to see. But Chikorita can use Cut, literally. We then switch to a quick view of the Pokedex. Nice to be able to switch between multiple Monster's actual info without having to select the Pokemon, go to the entry, and either scroll through multiple monsters or exit out of the entry and select the next monster. A quick view of Ho-Oh, then some lava gym challenge, I assume to be Blackthorn, and some Chikorita-Razor Leaf action and some Totodile-Water Gun action. Along with the darkened gym in Ecruteak and about to challenge Morty. Another shot of Ho-Oh that we've seen ten times over...where is the Lugia love? And then ending with a Tyranitar using Rock Smash in Cianwood flowing into a battle between Typloshion and Meganium with Tyranitar and Feraligatr. Over all some good stuff, but now there is just more to speculate about.. I wanted more confirmed details. lol
  25. Now that its been revealed that the Pokemon that follow you can use HMs while on screen, I think I have my team planned out for my choice of Pokemon to follow me. All the HMs can be put on them, even if they decide to switch some of them up. I understand my teams weaknesses, but I dun care. =P They are the Pokemon I'm most looking forward to behind me. 1. Cyndaquil & Evos 2. Togepi & Evos 3. Pidgey & Evos 4. Mareep & Evos 5. Gyarados 6. *Event or Legendary Pokemon* - PCP, Arceus, Lugia, Suicune, etc.
