  1. Then how is a Diamond or Pearl Shaymin that has had the Fateful Encounter flag checked able to transform? ? EDIT: I just tested 4 Shaymin; one from Diamond, one from the Movie w/o the FE flag, one from Platinum w/o the FE flag but keeping the hidden hex values, and one from Platinum w/o the FE flag and hidden hex values. NONE of them transformed. I then checked the FE flag on all four, and they are now all Skymin, so there has to be at least one more step to the check than that. It should also perform a check to make sure Shaymin isn't frozen too.
  2. Yeah, that has to be one of the oddest theories I've ever heard about anything Pokemon. The whole point of the series is that the monster changes are instantaneous, and that there is no evidence for standard evolutionary theory for the monsters.
  3. I still hope for the day that we receive a good and official MMORPG for Pokemon. Just give me a massive world to explore similar to the handhelds, only fully 3D like the Gamecube games and use a similar battle system to what they have used from Stadium to PBR. I know it will never happen within the realm of Nintendo, but I can dream right? I normally don't like MMORPGs, but that I'd buy that.
  4. Like Guested said, I wouldn't rule out a Pokemon Battle Revolution 2, or PBR GS. Its not like its that much more work for them. They obviously have almost all of the models for everything finished. With the private tournament version, I'm sure both the male and female trainer as well as the new forms for Rotom, Giratina, and Shaymin are done too (which would imply Griseous Orb being added in as well). The only thing left to do would be add in any new Pokemon forms besides the Jagged Ear Pichu and maybe items that HGSS may introduce, as well as the male and female trainer models. Other than that they could technically use the same colosseum masters if they want. I don't see too much effort going into a sequel with how little was really done with the original.
  5. In my experience, a Pokemon you've put up for trade will evolve if you complete another trade, and then remove the Pokemon you hosted from the GTS. Though after reading your story, you may not need to actually complete the other trade, but just attempt to do so? I have had a Kadabra evolve after taking it back from the GTS once I completed a trade between starter Pokemon. Perhaps the GTS is just full of glitches though, I dunno.
  6. Pokemon Colosseum Pokemon The save files under the USB Memory Adapter area are .gci files, I don't know if they work or not, because I never bothered with Wii homebrewing, or anything durring the GC era.
  7. Opinion my dear Watson, opinion.
  8. They don't. It was added to all the Pokemon in , but I don't know why. Maybe to differentiate them from the Colosseum Pokemon? or maybe they just wanted to. I have no idea on that, its Genius Sonority's doing.
  9. I'd love to be proved wrong, as I'd really just like everything cleared up. But if it does turn out that certain DP Shaymin can transform, it'll just open more doors to questions of why others can't. It'll really make me wonder why of the 20ish that I've caught, none of them transformed. Maybe just bad luck? lol Its just as far as I can prove, none of my non-Platinum Shaymin have transformed, and none of them have a FE flag. While the Movie and Platinum Shaymin all have the flag, and have no problem transforming (as they were designed to). If you can provide proof to the contrary, I'd love to see it so this can get settled once and for all. lol Oh, and Zowayix,: The Platinum Darkrai and Arceus don't have the Fateful Encounter flag checked. But as of right now, the flag isn't needed for the only Arceus event we have access to (the Miner in Oreburgh and Canalave), as that event apparently just needs you to have registered data for Arceus in your Pokedex (obtained by trade, caught, or via wondercard. Not inserted as a pkm file.) and an Arceus in you party. No word on how the HGSS event works yet, so we don't know if any Arceus will work besides the Movie one. Even though it was used with the Shaymin and Regigigas events, the Fateful Encounter flag isn't the only thing used to activate them, as I described with the Arceus event above. We don't know exactly how the the Pokewalker will recognize the NZ Jirachi as the one to unlock the special courses. It may be the FE flag, TID, SID, a combo of things, we just dunno. We'll have to wait until release and investigate further
  10. randomspot555, I posted video proof that they can't change. Nothing on the Pokemon was edited after capture, just loaded into the sav file I used. Its a fact, even if not fully understood. Even if there is more than one flag that help to trigger the transformation, Shaymin caught(or made) before Platinum's release cannot transform with the Gracidea (unless you alter them, or checked the FE flag just because you wanted to the first time lol). I have caught Shaymin at the Flower Paradise in multiple games from multiple regions (Korea, US, Japan) in Diamond and Pearl, and none of them have the ability to change. The Fateful Flag must be checked in order to transform, the hidden hex values aren't needed either as shown by the Movie Shaymin. The Espeon from that you mentioned Midnight, transforming after changing it to Shaymin was likely due to the fact that Pokemon have the FE flag checked if you weren't paying attention to that. All you have to do is check the FE flag on the Diamond and Pearl Shaymin and they will transform just like all the others.
  11. Its the same on the DS. -.- I just can't post a video of the DS. Being on an emulator isn't going to stop a transformation on ONE Shaymin, when two others work.
  12. There is no proof at all that the Bass Tower was basically a copy of the Tin Tower, only with Lugia statues instead. We don't know the inner decor, nor do we know what Pokemon the Sages had back then in either tower. The only time we see it is after it is burnt. The only evidence for your theory is that 150 years after the fire, 3 sages have the 3 elemental Eeveelutions, and so they possibly used them as tradition. Heck, there is a possibly they have them not because they are the standard Pokemon for Sages and the same species as those who died in the fire, but to honor the 3 Legendary Beasts that Ho-Oh created, since the Beasts are also known to be protectors of Ho-Oh (Crystal). There is nothing wrong with speculating and trying to theorize what the Pokemon were who died, its just no matter what you do, you are probably never going to get a answer to prove anything. To me it just seems kinda in vain, especially if HGSS don't delve deeper into the legend. I hope they do though, I love mythology, and Pokemon is no different.
  13. Well, I can't help that all the articles are based on wrong information. I made a Youtube video as proof. A Diamond Shaymin, Movie Shaymin, and a Platinum Shaymin. First I show you some of the details in Pokesav, then in game, then the transformations, one of which fails.. Care to guess which? =P (Sorry its kinda long, I have yet to download any editing software.)
  14. No Toffeuy, only if you say it will work on any LEGAL Shaymin. Since the only ones that are legally available and can be legit are the Move Shaymin, and the Platinum Oak's letter Shaymin in Japan. Shaymin HAVE to have the Fateful Encounter flag to transform, try and transform one caught in Diamond or Pearl, it doesn't work.
  15. I've got it all. Walking all that distance isn't hard when you hatch eggs a ton, and walk to and from your Munchlax trees everyday.
  16. Platinum Shaymin has the Fateful Encounter flag, which is the only game the Oak's Letter has legitimately been obtainable with (only in Japan as of right now). Diamond and Pearl Shaymin won't transform. Shaymin wasn't even supposed to be known about until around Platinum's release anyway.
  17. And here I thought we had dropped the subject. lol I still say there is no use trying to prove anything, as there is no evidence for or against any of the theories. The legend says 3 nameless Pokemon died in the fire. It does not say their species, nor their type, and the fact that it says nameless means that NOBODY in the game from the time the events happened to the present knew what Pokemon died. There are three simple facts known about the Pokemon. 1.3 Pokemon died in the Brass Tower fire. 2. Ho-oh revived the Pokemon into the 3 Legendary Beasts known as Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. 3. Ho-oh granted them these forms to embody the events at the tower; the lightning strike, the raging flames, and the torrential downpour. Anything other than that is fan speculation and will NEVER be proven unless Gamefreak addresses the issue in HGSS. And if most of the old stuff is kept as is, like most the dialogue was in FRLG, we will never know. The best bet is just that 3 wild Pokemonm like Pidgey/Hoothoot/Ratatta got caught in the fire. I doubt wild Eevee were in the tower, as Eevee are domesticated Pokemon only, and if a trainer had an Eevee die, then we'd have had a known species to put in the legend. lol
  18. That it is. Gold & Crystal's sprites are based on it, and Silver's is kind of the opposite (with the wings down and head up).
  19. We dunno yet, plain and simple.
  20. If you can put your Ninjask to sleep, and then make it use Substitute while asleep, as long as the Ninjask doesn't wake up to actually use the move you should be able to copy it even though the move "fails". This is the same method to Sketch Metronome and moves like it.
  21. This is my absolute favorite Ho-Oh artwork, as it isn't put in a ridiculous pose. I was hoping to see see an updated version of this from Sugimori, or as a sprite in the game.
  22. I'm not really going to comment on the that about the hat, to each their own. =P But not EVERYONE should wear it. I may actually stop playing if every character has the mushroom hat. As for saying old Crys had the dye job, I think you missed the part where it's Japanese, and ANY color can be a natural born color. Pink and white are especially common, but the other colors aren't far behind.
  23. But that's just it, you are missing the point. That's why I showed both of the genders. While the girl didn't get the hair color change, the guy DID. So are you saying, that because the male FRLG player changed his hair color, that its not Red? Its now a standard that the girls in remakes get an outfit change to something similar to what is popular at the time, as well as one of the character getting a hair color change. (This may change if a Hoenn remake is made and contradicts this at a later date.) Last time it was Red, this time it was Crys, it wouldn't be fair to keep altering genetic traits of the same gender each remake. As for your bit on Mato and Sugimori, its two totally different things that we're trying to get across. We're having a discussion about Sugimori's designs on the girl from HGSS, and by comparison, the girl from FRLG. Sugimori drew the character art first as designs for the game, which came before the manga. I was simply wondering why the manga was even brought up when the game version of the characters were being discussed. That girl is a Ken Sugimori character, even if not implemented until a later generation remake with a new design, and not only Blue from the manga. I'm not at all disputing the fact that the characters look similar to each other, sometimes exact copies, becuase like 90% of Pokemon Special characters are based on Sugimori art.
  24. You are. =P I know everyone has their opinion, and that's fine, but I for sure don't understand how you reached that opinion. I don't see anything in the sprite worth praising, except for the fact that they finally spread out his tail feathers again. His Gold/Crystal sprite was for sure the best of the bunch IMO, and all the rest have been decent. Though now I think HGSS has made the list as the worst. I'm praying its a beta sprite, but my luck it won't be.
  25. No offense, but you're blind. lol Ho-Oh now looks like a hideously posed Turkey-Peacock hybrid. The legs are way to spread out, one is slightly longer than the other even though they start at the same spot and perspective is roughly equal, and his head feather crest thing lost half his height. It's like Arceus was drunk when he made Ho-Oh's in Johto.
