  1. I think what he meant was: In Sapphire, Latias can only be found roaming. But way to be picky about syntax... ;
  2. That's a really good question. So far, that hasn't been stated, of course. There will be different Pokemon on different courses, but we don't even know how many of those there will be. The course selection screen has five slots (see picture) And we already know about five courses. BUT perhaps the list can scroll down to make room for more. So ... basically, I have no clue.
  3. I'm sure it must be somehow.... right? Probably a similar system to how My Pokemon Ranch is tied to a single player. OH, by the way. The last thing on that site is that My Pokemon Ranch (even with the Platinum update) is NOT compatible with HG/SS. I suppose that could be fixable with an update, but I'd guess most people have their ranch too full by now to make any use of it.
  4. Don't ever site gamestop for anything, please. I worked there, and they'd just put up some guesswork when nothing official was announced. And then constantly change it (if it got close) and blame it on the companies (such as "oh, looks like it got pushed back again"). They have no communication with companies, they just guess until something is announced to the press. So you'd probably know from the internet sooner than they would know. Trust me on this.
  5. PokeWalker is the met location, I know that much. Since the unit is most likely tied to one game's OT, then I would bet that the Pokemon caught there would have that OT. BTW, according to the Nintendo site, HGSS will be able to communicate with the GBA games through slot-2 (in a DS or DS Lite only), but it doesn't say whether this will be Pal Park, or just a Slot-2 wild pokemon encounter method like in DPP. http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/ipkj/index.html
  6. ^ This. Also, the term is "legal," not "legit." Since you are making a Latias, it is in no way legit, but could in fact be made to be "legal" if done right.
  7. So... Does anyone want to make a list of all of the locations and their corresponding values?
  8. I was looking at some of the new images, and evidently this was even in some of the old shots (I just didn't realize it), but... Berries have been confirmed to be in HGSS, at least through the PokeWalker. The images displaying the PokeWalker Mystery Gift (between two PokeWalkers) show a player receiving a Oran Berry (Berry number 07, restores 10 HP). So, this confirms that HGSS will be using the Generation IV set of berries instead of the old ones from II (which makes perfect sense). Furthermore, since the trees in Johto seem to do the whole "one-a-day" thing instead of being planted and watered like other regions, that's where the Berry Planter key item comes into play. Again, here's something I didn't really put together earlier: The Berry Planter screenshots show the player planting a Pecha Berry into one of the pots in the Berry Planter. There is also a Berry pouch in the main item Bag that will hold your inventory of berries that are not currently being grown. Keep in mind, the Apricorn Case only holds the 7 types of Apricorns.
  9. Yeah, but we're talking about items that you CAN'T trade because they don't exist in Diamond or Pearl. So they aren't even allowed to be brought into the Union Room.
  10. Well, I guess that's a good point for the multiplayer stuff in the Battle Frontier. I still haven't ever played them with anyone ever. (emphasis on ever, btw)
  11. Already confirmed, but this is not the place to discuss this. This is incorrect. The Eon ticket works just fine for Emerald. I have personally tested it. If you meant that the Eon Ticket didn't work on FRLG, then THAT is correct, because Latios, Latias and the Southern Island did not exist in FRLG.
  12. Wi-Fi Plaza = good for marketing and appeal. Same Global Terminal = good, there was nothing wrong with it. Identical Battle Frontier = sigh. Seriously? Come on! I'm almost done with the Platinum Frontier... Maaaaan, I guess I just won't be playing the new Johto Battle Frontier. Oh well. Big let down in my book. Hopefully they'll at least do something like update the random trainers or team combinations. Seriously, how many Quaqsire do we need to encounter in the Frontier???
  13. I recommend AGAINST DSorganize. The guy who made it isn't that great at programming and it is still VERY buggy and has the potential to brick your SD card.
  14. Uhhhh... an update is extremely unlikely. COM hasn't really made any updates since Platinum came out. Just a few at the beginning. HOwever, I'm pretty sure the guys working on PPSE will be including those features eventually.
  15. "no" ?!? I think you mean "yes." UK is included in the list of UK/US/AU, Korea. So when you palpark using a UK game, it gives you trashbytes. UK/US/AU and Korea all have the same trashbyte system, that's why they're grouped together.
  16. Well, I tried to skip the second battle, actually (the one with the psychic). But his vision is pretty good, so he saw me trying to sneak by him. THAT battle is unavoidable. However, it's possible to walk around the twins, but I didn't realize that until after the battle had already ended. The mart was open, but I didn't go in. I did have a chat with Eusine, but didn't bother paying attention because I figured it'd all be stuff I heard 10 years ago. If I go back, I may try to complete the "quest." Ha. But I really want to take a better look at the menu features (and try to make Snorlax walk around).
  17. Because they were probably palparked from one of those four countries. ...right?
  18. Yeah, what the hell? WHY did I say that? ALL 251 Pokemon are in the Johto Dex... Man, I'm an idiot. "You can't catch Clefairy in Johto" is probably what I meant to say.
  19. For those interested, the new stuff in the trailer that has been added to the official website has some stuff on Kanto (like Dante just said). The last part of the video shows a small bit of video footage of: -the player boarding the Magnet Train -the Magent Train traveling East (to Kanto) -the player battling a Clefairy in a cave (presumably Mt. Moon, since that's the only place it was available in GS... it's also not in the Johto dex) -entering Pallet Town from Route 1 with the tag: "And the adventure continues..." The music playing throughout this portion of the video is the HGSS version of the Route 1 music. Another interesting note: The video has a section on the PokeWalker that wraps up with some info about the Yellow Forest event. When demonstrating the mini games, it seems like it is using footage from that course because the player encounters a Pikachu with the Pokeradar game. But here's the interesting part: for the ItemFinder game, the player finds a Light Ball. This could mean that it may be possible to find Light Balls in the Yellow Forest, but it could also mean that they can be found in another course... something to think about.
  20. I played the demo for HeartGold and SoulSilver at the Pokemon Center in Tokyo yesterday. It's been there for a while now, but I had been out of the country so yesterday was the first chance I had to get down there and see it. There have already been videos of the demo posted elsewhere on the web, and between that and the screenshots, there wasn't any thing much that surprised me in the demo (other than the presence of Eusine). But I'll give you my impressions and we can use this thread to discuss what we think about the demo. If you don't know anything about the demo, the premise is that you have 5 minutes to go from Route 37 to Ecruteak City and deliver a package. Your character gender and name are random. My character was the girl and her name was Heart, just going to show you all that the gender does not determine the name Heart, Gold, Soul, whatever, it's the VERSION of the game that determines which name is suggested. Your party starts with three Pokemon (starter, Pikachu, and one other big pokemon), and you fight a set of twins and a psychic with Dunsparce along the way through Route 37. -The first thing that jumps out at me about HGSS is that the battle menus look a lot cleaner/shinier. I really like the new look that they have. -The new menu system outside of battle was VERY good, and I'm really glad that they've finally made the menu systems all at least somewhat similar. Using the stylus for everything will be very nice and easy. -My party was Chikorita, Pikachu and Snorlax. I hadn't seen a Snorlax in the videos yet, so that was a small surprise. -You may have noticed, but the Pokemon that follows you around simply slides onto the screen during battle instead of coming out of a Pokeball (for obvious reasons). -The Running Shoes button is indeed a toggle, so that's great. -One thing I forgot to do was to check the Pokemon menu to see if I could get any info on how to change whether or not your Pokemon follows you around. If I go back down there later this week, I'll definitely try to check that out.
  21. Checked on Shoddy? Since when is Shoddy an authority on anything? By the way, NOTHING about this Latis is "legit." You need to check your definitions. An English Latias cannot have a Japanese name. The only way a pokemon from one language could have a name of a different language would be if it was non-nicknamed and traded to another language and then evolved. Latias does not evolve, so it's name would never change from the language in which it was caught... in this case: English.
