  1. I just recently completed the Factory and got my Gold Seal. My streak hasn't been broken yet, but I don't think I'll continue much further. I had too many unbalanced close-calls for my liking. Just gotta move on.... only three more gold seals left!
  2. Wrong. All five GBA games worked with Pokemon Box.
  3. Goruko. I think he's a weirdo, but whatever. Looks like Hitler. I think the guy on the right is weirder, though.... Professor Red. Seriously, why the make up?
  4. Are they all in different languages? Or are they the same?
  5. Official Help/Small Questions Thread for Pokémon HG/SS In order to keep clutter down in this forum, this thread can be used to ask for help (or ask small questions) if you are having trouble with HeartGold or SoulSilver. And those who can understand Japanese, those who remember the plot line of GSC well enough, or those who have already made good progress in the game can help you out.
  6. I admit, it does look different. But I feel like the "Pokemon" logo should have changed, too.
  7. I agree with you 100%. Most recent first-hand experience of this: Spent a lot of time playing D/P and Pt in Japanese... then play the English versions. The Japanese logos look very metallic and stylized and just awesome. Then I pop in an English version and get the same, standard, cartoony logo that has been around for well over 10 years, and it's even in the same color configuration. Ugh. At least the "version" info on these new logos is unique and not the same old font.
  8. Hi. FYI, Please don't call it Notched-Ear Pichu around here. That's a terrible translation that has been propagated by the bigger fansites and you will probably get flamed for it around here. We call it Jagged-Ear Pichu.
  9. Well, they certainly aren't releasing ALL information at the same time.
  10. They will most likely be released in the US and EU later. If you want to find out if there is region specificity, you could always load a Japanese movie Regigigas onto a US Platinum and see if that works.
  11. Official site update! Here's some things that were updated on the official site today. - Arceus event: They've updated the Arceus HGSS info to include the steps and results that were already showcased on Oha Suta and Pokemon Sunday... - Story: They've included the screenshots of the dockhouse and the Magnet Train and acknowledged that you can go to Kanto. - Characters: Professor Oak! They've included artwork for Prof. Oak and explained that he is the professor that you receive the Pokedex from. Kurt was also included, and it just explains that he is the one who will make Pokeballs out of Apricorns. - Legendary Pokemon: This section has been updated to show the full artwork of Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza (instead of just silhouettes) and shows screenshots of their lairs with the floor designs and a shot of the encounter with them. They are all at level 50 as was already revealed. - Tools: (A page was added for the Apricorn planter, the portable device that you grow Apricorns in. It simply says that you can grow Apricorns anywhere and any time. You plant them by touching the dirt and water them to keep them from drying up. Then you can get more Apricorns.) It turns out the Planter is for berries. I wasn't paying attention. See http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showpost.php?p=47709&postcount=1113 here for more info. There is a page detailing Apricorns and it only gives two examples of their use: making Pokeballs and making Apricorn Drinks. It also confirms that you keep your Apricorns in an Apricorn case (so Apricorns will not be tradable to DPP, for more than obvious reasons). It also confirms that Apricorn trees will be as they were in GSC; one Apricorn each day. There appear to only be seven Apricorns (one for each Pokeball type) as there are only seven in the Sugimori artwork, and only seven slots in the Case. They also give a little details on the Apricorn Shaker which makes Drinks out of Apricorns in order to increase the Pokethlon stats of your Pokemon. There is also a section detailing the new (old) Pokeballs from GSC and includes their new Sugimori artwork. Update: I looked up the old GSC info and it turns out there were only 7 Apricorn types back then, also. The other items you got from the trees that gave you status/HP recovery hold items were called Berries even back then. No word yet on if HGSS will have the same Berry types as DPP. Update: HGSS will have the same berries as DPP. - Safari Zone: It gives mostly the same info that has already been released. You can customize the layout of the new Safari Zone and send it to friends. It also says that in the area called "Safari Zone Gate" (the area to the south of the main zone) there are various stores. The machine you use to customize the Zone appears to be in the entrance building. It also says that doing this will change the Pokemon that are encountered. There is artwork for Sandshrew (also appears in a screenshot), Rhyhorn, and Tauros, so it's likely that they are present in the Safari Game. - National Park: Same info that has already been announced. There is artwork for Paras, Pinsir and Scyther. - Pokethlon/Poke-athalon: There are a few more details about the new games. Circle Push: Each circle has a number. You get that many points for being in the circle. So, it's good to stay in but push others out. Break Block: A Pokemon's Power and Stamina will determine its ability to break the blocks. Change Relay: A long relay race that tests Stamina and Speed. - Battle Frontier: Not a long of info... even the artwork is simply re-used artwork from Platinum's Frontier. It says there are various facilities in the Frontier Front, including move tutors! You can use your BP from the Frontier to buy the services of these tutors. - PokeWalker: There's a hook cradle that you can use to hook the Walker onto your belt or wherever. A lot of this information has been released elsewhere already, but it's good to get the real details from the official source, as well as clean screenshots and the new artwork.
  12. The date is actually irrelevant. You could only get the Letter during a certain window of time, but you're free to catch Shaymin whenever the heck you feel like. I guarantee you that there were probably MANY Japanese Platinum players who had not yet made it that far in the game, or just hadn't completed that extra quest with Mai that leads out to the rock. There are probably a LOT of legitimate Shaymin out there that were caught after the Letter distribution ended.
  13. It's the area West of Cianwood. It looks like there is a pretty big area BEFORE you enter the actual Safari Zone (which is the area that looks like six squares). The sign outside the cave in Cianwood says "the entrance to the path to the Safari Zone." I'm planning on labeling a map to show the locations of all the new stuff, for those that aren't sure.
  14. It seems like it's only going to be arranging the layout of the six areas. Not what is inside them. The bottom picture is the "Safari Zone Gate." That's all I know.
  15. Some more clearer images of the latest Corocoro have surfaced, and I'll write this post as I read it now and let you know new details. -Safari Zone info: You can use a computer to customize the layout of the Safari Zone. Of course, different Pokemon appear in different areas. You can also send your custom Safari Zone maps to friends for them to try. - Johto info: This section shows some info about the story such as getting the Pokedex from Prof. Oak, and the Egg delivery mission. It also shows info about the Bug Catching Contest. It looks to be much the same as GSC. It happens on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and there are six competitors trying to catch the best bug, using Konpe Balls (Compe from competition). There is an image of the player trying to catch a Paras. - Apricorn info: This section confirms that Apricorns will be carried in a special Case. They can be picked once a day from their trees, like in GSC. It shows two uses for the Apricorns. The first is giving them to Kurt to make Pokeballs (which was posted earlier) and the other is using a drink mixer to make drinks for your Pokemon to increase their Pokethlon stats. - New features: The next section gives info on going to Kanto (already known), the Johto Battle Frontier and the Yellow Forest PokeWalker event. The only new Frontier info is that the Frontier has opened in Johto, and that there is one "Frontier Front." No new info on the Yellow Forest that I can see... but it does say that various Pikachu are in the forest. - Pokethlon info: There are three new Pokethlon events shown; Break Block, Push Circle, and Change Relay. - Legendary Pokemon info: There is a big section on the Legendary Pokemon, including a small blurb about the legendary Pokemon being eligible for competition at WCS 2010. It shows the legendary trio from RSE, but does not reveal where they will be found. Their lairs show their body designs illuminated on the floor, and they will each be encountered at level 50. I'll update the first post to include this week's new info as soon as I have some time to do so neatly.
  16. 100% WRONG. Pokemon Sunday confirmed this: - The Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina in HGSS will each have their orbs. - Giratina's new forme is in HGSS. - The Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina sprites in HGSS are the same as in Platinum. - HGSS will be used/usable in upcoming competitions. - The three legendary dragons, along with Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-oh, Kyogre, Ground, and Rayquaza will be allowed in upcoming Pokemon competitions. That's it.
  17. It's not something I can explain simply. If you don't understand, you shouldn't be editing them. The pkm files on this site are fine. As long as you aren't editing them, they will be fine.
  18. This is what I was worried about. The Pokemon will look fine when viewed in-game, but when checked with Legality Checker, they will not have the correct algorithm because the algorithm is connected to nature, class, and IVs. By changing one of these without using the correct algorithm, the Pokemon is not technically legal.
  19. I was thinking it could be something like that, Pory. Both referring to where the data is stored (Pt-exclusive locations) and to the reverting to a pokeball. It seems the most logical, doesn't it? My guess is that any new items (Balls and apricorns) simply won't be able to be traded. What happens if a different Pokemon (not Giratina) tries to enter the Union Room while holding the Griseous Orb? I know Giratina drops it, but do all Pokemon drop it before entering? Perhaps something like that will happen with any new items in HGSS
  20. person: I see that some people are requesting certain natures and such. Are you able to get the algorithms correct?
  21. Seriously?? HGSS is a remake of GSC. Therefore many things from GSC will be in HGSS. The Pokeballs are included, but those Pokeballs were not in Generation III (GBA) nor Generation IV (DPP) so that's where the confusion comes from.
