No, sorry. I don't have any plans to go back and the staff at the Tokyo Pokemon Center don't let people video or take pictures. I've to go all the way to the center in Yokohama to take a picture, and that's not happening. We'll just have to wait until the game comes out, but it won't be long

No one could learn Dragonbreath in Yellow. It didn't exist until GSC. I wonder if he means Dragon Rage. But Pikachu could get Surf from one of the Pokemon Stadium games. I think it was the first one. That's what unlocked the Surfing Pikachu minigame in Yellow.

Old news, pal. Please read the thread you post in before you post in it. -
Awesome, I'll get some testing on this done asap. Illithian... it's a random generator

Awesome. But, I just tried it out, saved as a pkm file, and got back a "No Pokemon Data" message when I tried to open it with your PKM viewer. ><; Tried it out again and the Pokemon had no type, no EVs, and no IVs....

It depends on what kind of competitive battling you'll be doing. If you're doing shoddy or other kinds of 6 vs. 6 battling where people have all these pre-set notions of what moveset and EV spread every Pokemon should have, then that's probably a bad idea. But it would also depend on your ability to take down a fighting type. I bet many of those teams out there won't have more than one fighting type. (but then, of course, you'd have to watch out for Focus Blast, Brick Break, etc, from other Pokemon) But if you're doing Stadium style battling, like on Pokemon Battle Revolution, where you choose 3 from your 6 (or 4 if it's a double battle), then you could easily make a team like that work, since you wouldn't necessarily be using all of them at the same time in every battle.

Gonna go buy it today!

That's actually a pretty good idea. It could be done that way (just with a basic machine) and no mini-game. That would keep it separate from DPP, but... maybe it would just be one more feature they'd copy over. Who knows. -

Please don't cite serebii. But let's talk about this. The tree sprite DID look the same as other trees, but the tree being headbutted was out in the open by itself. Does anyone remember how it worked in GSC? Was it all trees or only specific trees? I honestly can't remember that well. edit: SCV just told me you could only headbutt some trees. -

Hey, so... I made a mistake. Evidently, the thing I thought was random battles actually turns out to be the normal wi-fi room. It has the same design as what was in Platinum, and I didn't realize they had updated that part of the game for Platinum. So it looks like I was mistaken on the whole "random battles" thing. My mistake, sorry guys. -

Here's some.... BIG news. Just saw some new Japanese TV commercials. There is a section talking about wi-fi... And it shows a shot of the Wi-Fi Plaza. And then... it shows a video of something that looks like a blue Union Room. And then... the player checks the screen, and is asked "What kind of opponent would you like to recruit?" with the choices: Single Battle, Double Battle, Trade, Plaza Game. There is also another character standing by in a circle on the ground, similar to the GTS during search. If this is what it looks like, that means that HGSS could feature random wi-fi battles and trades... fascinating. The trailer also showed some areas that haven't been shown before (routes, etc), Lugia on a PokeWalker, Lugia battling Ho-oh in a battle, the establishing (entrance) image of the Tin Tower (it has some Ho-oh statues inside), a trainer catching a Munchlax on the PokeWalker, the girl character walking towards Suicine who is standing on a route somewhere, some new gym stuff, and Jasmine's battle sprite. It also showed Entei headbutting a tree. Another large pokemon news fansite reported on these videos and only seemed to notice the headbutting part. That site also said that it appears ALL trees are headbuttable (??) and I personally think that's a pretty BS claim since there was nothing to indicate that in the video, AND it's highly unlikely. -
I have no idea. I'm guessing Wailord probably won't show up naturally in HGSS (unless it's way at the end of the game), so we might not ever know the answer to that until someone gets the game and trades one over from DPP. But I'm guessing it might look big, but only take up one tile of space. You can look at the sprites for Arceus, Steelix, Kyogre, and Groudon to see what I mean, but then Lugia and Ho-oh look like they'll take up a lot of space too... but maybe fit on one tile... I'm not sure. http://www.pokemon.co.jp/special/hgss/pokemon/02.html http://www.pokemon.co.jp/special/hgss/pokemon/01.html

Well, here's an example of how big a big Pokemon is. Here is Arceus with the player: The Snorlax was a little big shorter than this Steelix: There are also some shots of the Player with a Tyranitar in some of the recently released videos, so you can check that out. By the way, like I said, this time around I was the boy character in the demo, and his name was Soul. I'd like to point out again that the characters do not have any specific names, but that the suggested names are based on what version you are playing. So think about that if you plan on referring to the girl character as Soul.

Oh yeah, you're definitely right. I guess I just couldn't see it well on the screen on the DS I was using. It's kinda tough to tell with the menus being those altering shades. I was TRYING to see (but thought my eyes might be playing tricks on me)... and I THOUGHT that it looked like the Snorlax's Special Defense and Speed were a different color. I originally thought that Sp Def was Blue and Speed was Red, but when I got home to check, it's characteristic of "likes to run" indicated that Speed would be it's highest and should have been blue. I could just be remembering wrong, because I had a really long night before I came home to check. Sorry for the sloppy report, but we'll have our answers in a matter of days. I could have just memorized it backwards since I was trying to not look TOO fascinated by the game, and I was also giving battle tips to the kid playing on the other demo unit. Ha.

Really? You can tell? I'm gonna try enlarging one to get a better look.... but I'll do that later. It could be that it was in the demo, but I just couldn't see it clearly. I didn't want to look too weird.

Someone else brought it up first. To be honest, I can't even tell anymore. Stupid optical illusions (maybe).

Okay guys, I went back and played it again, so here's what I found out: - I had the boy character this time, but my starter was Chikorita and I once again had Snorlax as the third Pokemon. - Snorlax's new HGSS Sprite is awesome. - Changing the Pokemon in your first slot immediately changes who is following you. When I did this, the top screen cut back to the overworld and showed Snorlax popping out of it's Pokeball... but it only showed this animation the first time I changed (maybe only once per play session/area?) - Snorlax walking behind you is absolutely precious. It was gigantic, and like Totoro or something. Coincidentally, my Snorlax's characteristic was "likes to run." - There was nothing I could see in the Pokemon menu that was an option to let you put the Pokemon away and have none follow you. Maybe there's an option at the PC like the Capsule Seals or something? Maybe it's impossible? No idea. - It may have just been the lighting, but I could not see any coloration of the stats of my Pokemon. Some screenshots of the legendary dragon trio look as if one stat is red and one is blue (possibly indicating highest IV and lowest IV). Perhaps this feature isn't in the demo, or maybe it is activated with some kind of key item, or NPC that checks for you.... I have no idea. Maybe I just couldn't see it well... Maybe the coloration of the menu just makes it LOOK like some stats are different colors... Look at the bottom of the page here: http://www.pokemon.co.jp/special/hgss/news/03.html What do you think? - The health and Exp bars in battle are just a little bit taller so it's a slight bit easier to see, which I think looks really good. I made it all the way to the monk guarding the way into the tower, but then ran out of time because I spent so much of it playing around with the menus (which still stand out, and I still really like).

You want to close it because it's big??? Why does it matter? -
trading Hi I am looking for movie arceus event <3
Guested replied to av10231's topic in Wi-Fi Trading & Battling
Person, do I need to tell you again? If you modify the event pokemon that way, they are no longer legal! If it just HAPPENED to come out with perfect IVs in those area, that's fine, but if you've altered it, the PID no longer matches. You can't change stuff like that and expect it to still be legal. -
Fixed Oh yeah! THAT is what I wanted to check. Man, this heat is frying my brain. Back on topic: I'll have whatever Pokemon I'm trying to give some exp in the front slot. For example... My party in Crystal right now is a Pidgey, Cyndaquil, weak Gastly and an Egg.... the one in the first position is Gastly... cool looking, but that won't always be the case with whoever I'm trying to level up.

I think you guys need to provide a reason for wanting to close this thread and start another one. Things would get pretty cluttered if everyone did this. As you can see, there is not a 1000 post limit, so that can't be the reason why. If you do have a good reason, we can open the new thread back up and lock this one. -
Whichever Pokemon is in the first slot of my party at the time. I hope you all realize that that's probably how the system works. I'll check it out later, I'm planning on going back to play the demo again this week.

EZ Flash IV is a GBA-cartridge-sized GBA Flash Cart. There are actually 2 models. One that is normal sized, and one that is DS Lite sized, if you want to do this: it also works as a DS flash cart in slot-2 (with a slot-1 pass card)
-
I just recently bought a EZ Flash IV (to use on my SP, Micro, and GC Player), which I HIGHLY reccommend. I can't find really find anything about it that I don't like. It's far superior to the Supercard and has no compatibility issues.
