  4. I (quite stupidly) went out and bought an AR for the sole purpose of using PokéSav without checking if the software will actually work with my UK version of the game. I tried using the program, however I can't seem to load the AR code onto the AR. Anyone got any ideas?
  5. In the course of trying to edit every aspect of a pokemon for ROM hacking purposes, I've made some findings that may prove useful. Note that no tools exist to do this (yet), so I will just provide some insights on how each file works and those of you competent with a hex editor should be able to figure out the rest. The relevant file is (/data)/application/zukanlist/zkn_data/zukan_data.narc in a D/P ROM's internal filesystem. Unpack the narc (I used kiwi.ds's NDS Editor) and you'll get a folder with 58 binary files. Files 00 through 10 contain information pertaining to the height an weight comparison features of the pokedex, 11-58 contain lists of pokemon index numbers in various orders for use by the pokedex's search feature. Following is a list of each file, what information it holds, and notes on how it is structured. 00 I wasn't able to figure out anything about this file. Editing it did not seem to result in any changes in the pokedex -- maybe the information is related to the dex but actually used elsewhere. Of note is that it is the same length as 01, indicating 4 bytes per pokemon. 01 - Weight 4 bytes per pokemon. The number stored, divided by 10, equals the weight of the pokemon in kilograms used by the "weight check" feature. Note that numerical value in kg/lbs expressed by the pokedex IS NOT calculated from this. It is stored separately in msg.narc along with most other textual data in the game. I haven't taken the time to find the thresholds on which the animation used by the scale changes; if somebody wants to do this it would be appreciated. 02 I wasn't able to figure out anything about this file. Editing it did not seem to result in any changes in the pokedex -- maybe the information is related to the dex but actually used elsewhere. Length indicates 1 byte per pokemon. 03 - Trainer Scale Divisor (for female player) The number stored, divided by 256, equals the divisor used in scaling the trainer graphic in the height comparison feature. For example, if the divisor is 2, the size of the trainer will be half its unscaled size. 04 - Pokemon Scale Divisor (for female player) The number stored, divided by 256, equals the divisor used in scaling the pokemon graphic in the height comparison feature. 05 - Trainer Scale Divisor (for male player) The number stored, divided by 256, equals the divisor used in scaling the trainer graphic in the height comparison feature. 06 - Pokemon Scale Divisor (for male player) The number stored, divided by 256, equals the divisor used in scaling the pokemon graphic in the height comparison feature. 07 - Trainer Y-position (for female player) The higher this value, the further down the screen the trainer graphic used in the height comparison feature is. Default value is 8. 08 - Pokemon Y-position (for female player) Pokemon graphic used in height comparison feature is moved down by as many pixels as the value stored specifies. Values prefixed with FF instead of 00 will actually be moved up by 0xFFFF - x + 1 where x is the value stored. 09 - Trainer Y-position (for male player) The higher this value, the further down the screen the trainer graphic used in the height comparison feature is. Default value is 9. 10 - Pokemon Y-position (for male player) Pokemon graphic used in height comparison feature is moved down by as many pixels as the value stored specifies. Values prefixed with FF instead of 00 will actually be moved up by 0xFFFF - x + 1 where x is the value stored. 11 - National Dex order Listing of pokemon index numbers in the order that they appear in the National dex. In this case that is just the numbers 0-493. I have tried adding a 494th entry but unfortunately it did not result in a new pokedex entry. 12 - Sinnoh Dex order Listing of pokemon index numbers in the order that they appear in the Sinnoh dex. Pokemon that do not appear are omitted. 13 - Alphabetical order Listing of pokemon index numbers in alphabetical order. As with height and weight, editing the name of a given pokemon will not automatically update this. 14 - Heaviest to Lightest order You get the picture by now. 15 - Lightest to Heaviest order 16 - Tallest to Shortest order 17 - Shortest to Tallest order 18-26 - Subsections of Alphabet Each file contains a listing of pokemon index numbers with names that start with a letter in the given subset of the alphabet. Within each file the order is alphabetical. For example, file 18 contains an alphabetical list of all pokemon that start with the letters A, B or C. The letters associated with each file are as follows: 18-ABC 19-DEF 20-GHI 21-JKL 22-MNO 23-PQR 24-STU 25-VWX 26-YZ 27-43 - Types Each file contains a listing of pokemon that are of the given type; dual-type pokemon are listed in the file for each type. Within each file the order goes by national dex number. The type associated with each file is as follows: 27-normal 28-fight 29-flying 30-poison 31-ground 32-rock 33-bug 34-ghost 35-steel 36-fire 37-water 38-grass 39-electric 40-psychic 41-ice 42-dragon 43-dark 44-57 - Body Styles Each file contains a listing of pokemon that are of the given body style. Within each file the order goes by national dex number. Body style information is used exclusively in the pokedex and to the best of my knowledge these list are the only thing that makes a pokemon one style or another. The body style associated with each file is as follows (names for the different styles are never provided, so I'm using the actual graphics for clarity): 44- 45- 46- 47- 48- 49- 50- 51- 52- 53- 54- 55- 56- 57-

  7. Hey No rules, which means that you don't have to stick to a type theme (for the most part, One pokemon has to be of the leader's speciality type), and legendaries are allowed. This can also count for the E4+Leader. I want to give myself a challenge, and currently have several interesting ones, like Wake's team is designed to lower attack (Stantler, Staraptor, Gyarados, Masquerain), then Politoed and Porygon-2, for example.
  8. If i use the code to rename another trainer's Pokemon and rename a Pokemon that I pal parked, will this ruin that Pokemon's legitimacy since it would remove the trash bytes?

  11. I use this team mainly on PBR, where there are no tiers, and you can see the opponent's team before you select your Pokemon. Azelf @ Choice Scarf Jolly Levitate 252 Spe / 252 Atk / 6 HP U-Turn Explosion Stealth Rock Trick This thing has enabled me to take control of the field from the get-go, so I'm not changing it. :] I usually Explode if I smell a Rain Dance team coming on, or I just have issues with a lead Pokemon. Trick is for bulky leads such as Bronzong, or suicide leads that start with Stealth Rock. Azelf and Blaziken usually come out together so Azelf can bring it down to 1 HP, activating Salac and Blaze on the first turn. Blaziken @ Salac Berry Hasty Blaze 252 Spe / 194 Atk / 64 SpA Endure Overheat Blaze Kick/Fire Punch Reversal My awesome Reversaler. I don't care what people say, this thing usually is able to take out at least one Pokemon. (Barring Priority moves) Overheat is for things that think they can wall it on the Physical side, along with it able to OHKO (123%-145% by my calculations) Naive Salamance (With Blaze activated, of course), which thinks it can scare Blaziken out with Intimidate. (Get it?) It even outspeeds it with a Salac boost, as most Salamance on Wi-Fi don't have 31 Speed IVs, which my Blaziken has. Jumpluff @ Leftovers Timid Chlorophyll 252 Spe / 252 HP / 6 Def Sunny Day Sleep Powder Substitute Leech Seed What? NU tier? Are you serious, Smogon? This thing has stalled many Pokemon into submission, and protects Blaziken from Hail or Sandstorm. Sleep Powder can keep a Pokemon at bay while Blaziken deals with it's comrade. Salamance @ Life Orb Naive Intimidate 84 Atk / 216 SpA / 208 Spe Draco Meteor Fire Blast Crunch Brick Break This is usually used as a late-game sweep, when half of the opponent's team is killed off by Blaziken. It OHKOs Kingdras with Draco Meteor, and Blissey with Brick Break with ease. What it can't outpace is usually Paralyzed by... Cresselia @ Leftovers Bold Leftovers (Don't know the EVs; I got this on the GTS, and it had an Effort Ribbon at level 51, so I'm assuming that it's around 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA.) Calm Mind Thunder Wave Moonlight Ice Beam Cresselia. She walls as if made of brick. The only thing I don't like about her is that Moonlight has only 8 PP. I'm surprised it's not in more OU teams. With Jumpluff's great Sunny Day support, Moonlight restores 50% or 66% rather than a meager 25%. Lucario @ Choice Band Adamant Inner Focus 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 6 HP ExtremeSpeed Close Combat Blaze Kick Stone Edge As much as I like Lucario, I'm thinking about replacing it. ExtremeSpeed kills off Focus Sashers or weakened Pokemon, Stone Edge is for Gyarados, and Blaze Kick is for abuse if Sunny day is in play. (That Rhymes! :bidoof:) Overview It may have Sunny Day, but this is NOT a full-fledged Sunny Day team! Sunny Day is mainly used for getting Sandstorm off the field, and powering up Overheat, so it can get vital OHKOs. This team has problems with Bullet Punch Scizor, but what team doesn't? Regardless, I'm still looking for a good counter for it that's name isn't Rotom-H. I might put Fake Out Ambipom in Lucario's place. So yeah, RMT.
  12. Hey. I have been trying to figure out this PokeSav Platinum thing for a bit. The DP version works perfectly. But for some reason Platinum doesn't. So. I would copy a SAV file to the computer and open it up in Platinum PokeSav and edit the party. Maybe do some storage things, and what happens in the storage is that I get some crazy things. Like, its set to level 100, all the hex values are not 00, there are random ev and iv stats all sorts of wierd stuff. Now, lets say I didn't do anything to the storage and just made party pokemon. Then I saved the sav and restored it back into my game. When I start my game, nothing happens. I look exactly the same before I hacked. So... those party pokemon didn't even show up. Now these pokemon aren't loaded files. I am about to try that to see if it works.... Does anyone understand whats going on or has had the same problem? Theres gotta be a way to fix it. I even downloaded a new Pokesav but same thing. I tried new sav files, but its always the same thing.

I have the hex code for pokemon diamond but some itens are change and i can't find the gracidea or the platinum orb. If it is possivel i would like to know if the pokemon hex code and the attacks hex codes for pokemon platinum are the same of pokemon diamond. Tanks.   16. Hi guys, does anyone have the map co-ords for the PAL version of Platinum for the Distortion World portal in Turnback Cave (the room where Giratina was in D/P)? I really REALLY hate Turnback Cave and I just wanna get back to the DW and get the Platinum Orb or w/e it is! Thanks in advance. PS. Yes I know I could just add the item but I want to return to the DW!
  17. I start playing Pokemon Platinum and I save the game. The SAV file is 154 KB so I can't open it with PokeSav because its neither 256 nor 512. So I go to Shuny to convert my files to 256. I put it in the BATTERY folder in my no$gba folder. I opened up PokeSav and edited my pokemon then saved it. When I go to play it, my pokemon don't have the edited stats and moveset and whenever I get rid of the original SAV file and leave the new one, my saved file in the game is gone and I have to make a new one. Am I missing something here? :frown: Tried it with 512 too, same result.

  20. ._. I have no idea whatsoever how to remove the .sav file from my current Pokemon Platinum Rom. I'm using the no$gba emulator. I have PokeSav, since cheats are crashing the game, and so I would like to know how to remove the .sav file from the rom, and then put it back it. .-. Blaziken (male) Nature: Jolly Ability: Blaze Item: Choice Band EVs: 255 ATK / 255 SPEED Moves: Flare Blitz Stone Edge Superpower Thunderpunch I gave the advice for Blaziken that I was given some thought, tested it out, and I like it. After all, it got me to the second battle with the Tower Tycoon, and helped me win. But I'm wondering if I should replace Thunderpunch with something like Earthquake (I decided to ditch my whole "style" thing with moves). I only keep Thunderpunch to deal with Gyarados, and other water types. I tested Stone Edge on a Level 100 Gyarados and it did not OHKO it. Shiny Gardevoir (female) Nature: Timid Ability: Synchronize Item: Lum Berry EVs: 188 SP.ATK / 67 DEF / 255 SPEED Moves: Psychic Calm Mind Focus Blast Thunderbolt Same as before. Though I am thinking about leftovers for her. The disadvantage to that is that my friend could now use his Starmie to thunder wave her without much worry. Salamence (male) Nature: Jolly Ability: Intimidate Item: Yache Berry EVs: 255 ATK / 255 SPEED Moves: Outrage Fire Blast Earthquake Dragon Dance Like I said before, I ditched my "style", and Salamence's earthquake has done him well. Other than that he is the same. Roserade (female) Nature: Timid Ability: Natural Cure Item: Black Sludge EVs: 188 SP. ATK / 67 DEF / 255 SPEED Moves: Energy Ball Shadow Ball Sludge Bomb Sleep Powder Same as before. I am thinking about giving her a choice specs and teaching her Leaf Storm, but her sleep powder is too useful to throw away. So I'm still not sure. Milotic (female) Nature: Modest Ability: Marvel Scale Item: Salac Berry EVs: 255 SP.ATK / 255 SPEED Moves: Ice Beam Recover Hydro Pump Mirror Coat Same as before. I'm thinking about hypnosis, but one: it is innacurate, and two: Mirror Coat has proved really useful to me in the past a lot of times. For instance, using Mirror Coat, she can usually OHKO a Kyogre, provided that the Kyogre used Thunder. Metagross (genderless) Nature: Adamant Ability: Clear Body Item: Life Orb Moves: Meteor Mash Agility Explosion Earthquake EVs: 204 ATK / 152 SP.DEF/ 154 SPEED I ditched ice punch and taught Metagross explosion. It packs more power than ice punch, and if unresisted, it can usaully OHKO the opponent's pokemon. I use it when either Metagross' HP is low (after he used agility), or if it is my opponent's last pokemon. If I make a mistake or something this time, can you please not close this thread? Can you just inform me of any mistakes, and I'll correct them when I have the time? Please rate.
  22. So, if you want to fix the freezing problems, there is an ActionReplay DS code and a Codebreaker DS code that allows you to play without freeze. The ARDS code is 020DD9E4 E1A00000 (You have to tick the "RAW" box on NO$GBA) The CBDS code is 220DD9E4 E1A00000 (You don't need to tick the "RAW" box) I found the ARDS code on the internet, then converted it to CBDS using a code converter, tested it and it worked. Now, if you have a flashcart that supports full ARDS (Including raw) or supports CBDS, you're good to go. Please note that I only tested these on NO$GBA, so it might only work on this. If you want to help me, you can tell me if R4DS supports either raw ARDS codes or CBDS. I know if supports ARDS, but I don't know about CBDS and raw ARDS codes.
