Guide: Pokémon Team Building (Help Provided Here)
Enkidu replied to Greencat's topic in Competitive Battling Discussion
Normal form cannot take a hit, everything in ubers is..ya know UBER he might be able to take ONE hit from UU or NU, but thats as lucky as Deoxys is going to get. Attack form is superior in all cases to normal form for the uber enviroment. Super power > Focus blast as it actually hits when you need it to, and also only lowers physical attack meaning if your other 3 attacks are special it won't affect him at all. Calm mind/Recover are useless on deoxys's, he needs to be able to nail whatever switches in and either switch or hit it again to kill it. He also needs his 3 special moveslots, giving him only 2 reduces what he can and cannot kill greatly. The same way superpower is only useful on a 3 special move set, Psycho boost is only useful on a 3 physical move set . Anyway the most common moveset for him is Hasty/Naive 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Shadowball Thunder Icebeam Superpower -
What's Your Favorite Pokemon? Current Pokémon Type: Dragon
Enkidu replied to Greencat's topic in Generation 4
I have a tie for this on, Garchomp and Claydol. So why this beast? Easy he looks like a cephalos and Monster hunter is my favorite game series to date. ( Sorry for the terrible render ) and Claydol reminds me of an Armored core/Orbital frame( much like scizor ) and they happen to be my second and third favorite franchise to date. YEA -
Sandstorm team #124553: The annoyance of Destati
Enkidu replied to Aqueel's topic in Team Building Discussion
Vaporeon has no real business taking care of dragons in the first place, as its 2HKO'd by the standard Outrage nowadays after stealth rock damage and OHKO'd by a salamences +1 Life orb outrage , even with 252hp/252def bold, meaning it can't switch into Mence. Quite a bit of pokemon also set up on it, provided vaporeon has no Special attack investment ( and many do not ) so while it may be a great addition to a Balanced team, it has no place on stall or offensive teams. Aerodactyl is a solid lead as it can take out heatran, infernape and azelf pretty well. ( assuming you have Crunch + earthquake and attack first turn) However Metagross easily trumps it as Bullet punch is a 2HKO. Meaning you either setup rocks and die, taunt and die or not actually be a suicide lead and switch out. Swampert also pretty easily walls you, but once you taunt and get SR off, his job is done regardless. ( which is good as Avalanche is a 2HKO anyway ) Anyway you have a pretty big DDmence,/Nite/Gyarados weakness they have plenty of chances to setup up on one of Lucario's attacks, your Vaporeon assuming they don't switch directly into a toxic, Gyarados sets up on Jirachi and emploeon. You have a minor Choice scarf Flygon weakness, A major earthquake weakness ( as only Aerodactyl is immune and no one else even resists it. ) AND only Aerodactyl is immune to spikes as well. Giving you a very problematic stall weakness. Also ScarfZone picks off Lucario, Jirachi and Empoleon pretty easily, but it shouldn't be too hard to play around. Payback's PP is easily stalled out so Crunch is actually the preferred option otherwise skarmory will wall you to death. ( as it can roost meaning you only have a base power of 50, and with its meager PP you wont last too long. Crunch has a 20% chance to defense drop though, which means after 1 curse you can out damage roost and win ) Change the specs to a Life orb, and change Vacuum wave to Agility. This gives you the freedom to switch moves, but also allows you to effectively outspeed and kill off many of his common switch ins ( including gliscor ) Also on that note, Spe = Speed, SpD = Special defense. I'm fairly sure you can pick up where I'm going with this. -
Japan = Asia? Uh... Anyway I'm from North America, but I'm 50% Korean.

Eraser head or teeth probably take the cake. The professional is my favorite movie of all time though...

How......are you having a lot of success in the OU and UU tiers when steel types ( abundant in OU and UU ) runt through your team with ease. Scizor alone will 2HKO almost your entire team with CB Bullet Punch. You also have no way to counter Toxic spikes or Spikes and no one to absorb sleep and threaten the omnipresent Roserade, nor scyther. Your team is ripped apart by many of the common UU threats. Switch out Lunatone for Claydol @ Leftovers Bold with levitate 252 HP / 144 Def / 114 SpA Stealthrock Earthpower Rapid Spin Shadow ball This is a decent special attacker, but more importantly sets up Stealth rocks and spins for you, while hitting ghosts that will switch to block your spinning attempts for SE damage with shadow ball. That aside, you lack fighting types to counteract the many steels you will see in UU. I suggest throwing in a Hitmonlee somewhere, as that thing can really muscle through unprepared teams. Some pokemon to maybe consider using are Torkoal/Hitmonlee/Honchrow/Milotic .

Route 228, 2% chance with the pokeradar. You can catch Trapinch at level 25. On that same route, 20% chance to catch Vibrava at level 53 and 54. You need the pokeradar for both of them though.

OK WHAT?! Giving some things ( Like heatran ) leftovers does not make your team a stall team.Usually Magnezone isn't a problem for most stall teams, but he comes in and traps + Kills skarmory and Fortress. What you want in Fortress's spot is a Tentacruel Tentacruel @ leftovers EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SpD Calm with Liquid Ooze. Toxic Spikes Surf Rapid Spin Ice beam/ Hidden power electric or if your feeling advantageous use Swords dance/Waterfall/Rapid spin/Toxic spikes Anywho your stall teams lacks a few important things, one is a perish song user to take care of last Pokemon stat uppers that stall teams really have a problem with but MOST IMPORTANTLY you lack a rapid spin blocker ( which really screws ANY good stall team not relying on Stallrein for passive damage. ) Your team is more offensive - balanced than it is stall, Tyranitar, Offensive zapdos and heatran tell me that. Also just arbitrarily sticking 3 walls ( all physical by the way ) + 3 sweepers onto a team doesn't do you any good. I fail to see any synergy between your pokemon either. ( other than the fact that 5/6 of them aren't hit by sandstorm damage. ) I would give you a more in depth rate, but from the way it seems you haven't particularly thought this out, and I ( and I'm fairly sure no one else ) wants to entirely change your team for you.

I actually really liked the small additions to platinum, coming from D/P I feel that although slight they made the game seem unique in it's own way. The ONLY gripe I have is that some of the new sprites look SIGNIFICANTLY less cooler than their D/P counter parts. namely Scizor/Gengar/Gyarados/Azelf/Jolteon to name a few. Although things like Lucario/Vaporeon/Gliscor... got cooler sprites.

greatest water pokemon(no legendary)
Enkidu replied to ALEGUS's topic in Competitive Battling Discussion
Wait...whats the criteria to establish the "best" water type? if its for your team, without knowing what the members are we have no idea what kind of water pokemon you should use. For the most part refer to what wraith said, but I find that vaporeon's spot is contested with jolteon for best Eevee evolution. The fastest good subpasser in the game, and also a beautiful late game sweeper with STAB thunderbolt is nothing to just sweep under the rug for another water type. Not to mention Vaporeon's defenses aren't that great, its just it's massive hp and wish + protect that makes it so survivable. It's also set up fodder for a lot of common sweepers. And with only 4 moves theres no way vaporeon can counter all of them and effectively pass wishes. If used right it serves its purpose well though. -
HEART GOLD just sounds so epic for a Pokemon game. I'm definitely going to pick up a copy when it comes out.

That is bed head for me haha.

Step by Step Guide to typing a successful RMT.
Enkidu replied to Silent Storm's topic in Team Building Discussion
I actually completely disagree with the "threat list" addition to RMT's. Just checking off threats and mindlessly saying " These 2 pokemon help me "check" or play around X" doesn't help us too much. I prefer listing ( under the role description of each Pokemon ) common switch in's to certain Pokemon and how they are dealt with or taken care of by different Pokemon in your party, or in lieu of creative move sets how changing the "standard" set helps you deal with specific switch in's more, and how that adds to team synergy in taking out specific defensive and offensive threats to accomplish your strategy. PLEASE not " fire goes to x" as each Pokemon has 4 moves and any player worth his salt isn't going to carelessly spam a move that may give anything common a free chance to set up ( Subtran? CM suicune? ) when it poses no risk to itself. Also SS you have a fair bit of spelling errors... -
Don't worry about it, but in a debate thread, you DEBATE not talk down to other people from what seems to be a self justified position of higher moral authority and simply state I believe what I believe and your beliefs are just wrong. but anyway, lets get back on point here.

I really think someone should delete that last post, it's ignorant to no end. By simply saying it shows your lack of even a pathetic attempt to understand the theory, meaning I believe you don't even have a right to say it's wrong.Your faith also seems ill met if your calling the bible an Antique Science fiction novel as well.

It takes me about 25 seconds on average to solve one of these things, so assuming they were scrambled the same way shouldn't take me more than a minute. Although I don't have an AR or an Flash Cart so...

I don't actually like the shape of my old one, the neck is really long, the strings are on both sides and the Horn is fricking huge on it. As for the new one I want, it's a remake of the classic Thunderbird design, from like 1963 so it's not actually a new guitar. I also really wanted this one But that was a limited edition version So I'm stuck with black. 3 day EDIT* I ended up buying this bass , thats a picture of it in my room. Although now I really want a Rickenbacker 4003 in solid red. ( 2000$, so hell no )

On Steelix change Stone edge to Gyro ball and Stealth rock to Curse. He's too slow and not strong enough to work as a lead in UU, where the majority of leads have at least 65 base speed and carry taunt. ( also with his weak offensive stats Earthquake is a 3- 4HKO on most of them. He's great at mid game walling though. Make nidoqueen your lead and Change Toxic spikes to Stealth rocks. Toxic spikes are too easily absorbed in UU, as poison types are pretty abundant here. I don't see sucker punch stopping too many priority user's on Victrebell as its low base speed means Even slow pokemon will out speed you ( and sucker punch fails against priority attacks if the opposing Pokemon is faster. ) also did not know it could even learn sucker punch. Anyway the main reason swords dance isn't used on Victreebel to often is that it's physical movepool sucks it only really gets Return + leaf blade for type coverage. Meaning you don't hit much outside of UU for SE damage. While the difference of 5 in Base stats between Attack and special attack doesn't do much because leaf blade is a 70 power attack, while leaf storm and solar beam are a 150 and 140 move respectively. Its also a chlorophyll pokemon, meaning giving it Sunny day/HP x/Leaf storm /Sleep powder makes it pretty good. Sunny day on the switch, Sleep spore the counter and then proceed to sweep with a 150 power 1 turn attack that gets STAB along with a hidden power of your choice. MEH sorry gotta get to class, good luck with your team. Edit ***** Ok whats up with that list of UU banned pokemon? Regigigas is fail against ANY experienced player, Mamoswine is a BEAST in OU, who would EVER consider him for NU/UU? Peck? ANY pokemon with a 400% weakness can be killed by a weak attack if backed up by decent attack, Rock smash can OHKO Tyranitar, but thats besides the point. Most of the things you listed as "Broken" are literally walled by a rather large portion of the UU metagame . Aside from the Obvious OU/UBER pokemon you listed here I don't qualify the majority of them to be put into BL. Clefable is ridiculously easy to deal with, I don't understand why everyone's losing to greencats. On milotic the prevalence of grassknot and the fact that it 2HKO's her unboosted is cause enough for her to be UU, if that isn't convincing how about after stealth rocks damage a +2 Close combat from a 100 Base attack pokemon has a chance to OHKO her, assuming no marvel scale boost. And the Majority of CC users have more than 100 base attack. So they don't even need to do max damage to OHKO her. Milktank + Kangaskhan are wonderful physical walls in UU, they don't have the stats to do it in OU though. Azumarill needs the CB to really do any damage, not to mention that with its lame speed it's walled too easily by anything that resists it. Letting gyarados/Salamence get off a dragon dance could cost you the game. Intimidate pokemon also screw it over, as the higher your attack is the larger the attack drop is. ( although it stays the same %, the number value is decreased more because the stat is higher ) Dusclops without the attack makes him a weak wall, the slightly lower defenses mean he cant takes attack as well, and the lower attack means he's only killing things with a 4x weakness anyway. He's UU. Houndoom isn't fast enough to be anything but UU, frail + mediocre speed is terrible! And without any good offensive stats there's no use for him in the higher tiers. Wynaut is an uber just like wobuffet, they literally have the same movepool and he functions as a slightly less bulky wobuffet in OU. Gah I'm not going to go over all of them here. Think of it this way, I can sweep good teams with a Bibarel if played right, that doesn't make it uber! Good luck with your team.

So I just happened to save up enough money to get a devent bass guitar. Thing is, I've no idea what qualifies as "Decent." My old one is a cheap 130$ Stagg. And it's served me well enough, but I feel like I should get one that has a better look, one that I'm more comfortable with and one that just sounds great! Its too bad I have no idea what constitutes a "decent" Bass though. My price range can be up to 500$, but I found a few that I really like and they only cost 299. Here's what I've found so far. http://www.epiphone.com/default.asp?ProductID=114&CollectionID=12 I'm planning on getting it in black , same model though. For 299, my friend who's a bassist said its an above average guitar, and one of the best you'll get for the price. Although I personally would prefer a matte finish, either are better than my current one. What do you guys think? My old bass really needs to get replaced. http://www.freewebs.com/radix_rock/BC300-SB_L.jpg <- Old bass, mines just not that....new looking.

Not bad, you need to clean up or remove your icons, Rocket dock is a nice alternative. Anyway I just redid mine, check it out.
