  1. Latios was being likened to a more specially oriented Garchomp. Where after a single calm mind its counters were all 2HKO'd at worst. And just like Garchomp's choice band set, with choice specs too many things in the OU tier were easily taken out in one hit after Stealth rock damage. T he Lati@s pair has an instant recovery move and twice the bulk of gengar. Their common weakness's make them manageable, but Latios's more offensive oriented stat distribution made him impossible to counter if played right, as he outsped/could live through one attack/ OHKO'd whatever switched in to "counter" him. And I know, I played the suspect ladder. He tore through "standard" teams pretty easily. Thats something that Should be tested, Lack of a SR weakness and access to moves that take out common DD counters might work but I don't want to just theorymon it.
  2. Both have specific offensive roles, and they are immune/resist each other's weakness's. Same as things like Celebi + Heatran , Zapdos + Machamp, Lucario + Latios, Gyarados + Electrivire et cetera. Offensive combo's that augment another pokemon and vice versa. Also @ Wraith Swampert works really well in both, Omastar does too . Aerodactyl, Hippowdon, Tyranitar, Salamence, bronzong really anything that gets a boost or can use rain dance works. Kingdra gets special mention as after 1 DD with the rain up, he becomes a monster. He really needs that Dragon dance though.
  3. YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO SAYZAPDOS/ZANGOOSE WTF :''''''''''''( LOL. Lets just start over. Bastiodon!
  4. OH MAN, Milotic used to be one of my favorite pokemon and found that little ******* every single time. It took me so long going tile by tile. But I wouldn't really call it "rare" There are more pokemon with a 2% pokeradar chance that I would love to get my hands on and strangle way more than feebass. While feebas is tedious to get, you know that eventually you WILL find him. And Lady luck is a fickle mistress as they say.
  5. Yes your right. but as of right now everyone's just saying the same thing over and over again. We're getting no where.
  6. QUAGSIRE!
  7. OH HO! It's so much fun! Switching weather with pokemon like Tyranitar and using rain dance to change the weather of course. It lets you control the tempo of the game on two different fronts. Making a team that utilizes both well is a little hard to make though.
  8. This is more of a choice issue, Should we be allowed to have the choice to do X and has stirred a lot of controversy . Anyway Speaking specifically with Euthanasia, I find that each case is different, should you be allowed to kill yourself because of "too much stress"? No, obviously not. But someone who only has a few weeks left to live and is going along, a shell of their former self in Excruciating pain should be allowed to. Why? Because they A: have a valid reason. And B: It's their choice. Stable mental consciousness plays a big factor in this I believe. More specifically an Issue I see with this, is defining when and why you should be able to kill yourself. Death is not something you can take back, but when someone is in as much pain as a dying colon cancer patient for instance people will WANT to die early if they know it's coming. It's really up to the person though, as it's their life and they should be allowed to do with it what they will. Sorry for being general and not being very informative. D:
  9. Fair enough. Ok I'm done with this thread for today.
  10. I hate getting responses like " Wheres your proof" when no one else ( except destati ) has even given me any numbers/information to work with. This whole thread has mostly been " I THINK WATER, SO ITS BETTER or I LIKE FIRE, SO ITS BETTER" which isn't answering the question. Edit* heres the original question
  11. You have 2 ground immunities, but FOUR ground weakness's! No way! Anything that carry's Stone edge + Earthquake would have a field day with that team. ( and theres a lot that does now ) Since you guys didn't post any Natures/Spreads/Movesets try out this team Gyarados Tyranitar Swampert Lucario + whatever else you want in the last two slots. What does this team give you? Lucario - A monster late game sweeper who is immune to Sandstorm. Once your oppoents team are all 70% or less you'll be hard pressed to find something he doesn't OHKO. Tyranitar - Capable of running through teams on its own, but more important can get rid of the majority of Gyarados/Lucario's counters opening up a chance to sweep with either of them midgame. Swampert - Your answer to Jolteon and Zapdos Without Hidden power grass, Perfect to Roar out Cm suicune and Curse Snorlax. If at full life can Come in on a Salamence's DD, take the outrage/earthquake and OHKO with Ice beam. Also puts down rocks and counters heatran without HP grass and Infernape without grassknot. Gyarados - Walls a lot of physical attackers lacking a Rock/thunder type attack. with a jolly nature and 252 Speed EV's even outspeeds Timid 252 speed Jolteon and can go for the OHKO with earthquake. When used right, runs through teams , easily. This gives you 3 pokemon immune to sandstorm, 2 pokemon immune to spikes/toxic spikes right off the bat. While tyranitar does have a few common weakness's and might be hard to play if you don't know what your doing, he's a great trapper and can cause more havoc then most pokemon. Honestly though, Gyara + Ttar have a glaring weakness to Electrivire but with his frailness he's not going to be switching in more than once if he's hit by either of TTar/Gyara's attacks. Just make sure it isnt 2-1 and his last pokemon is Electrivire and yours are Gyarados and Tyranitar. <- which shouldnt happen anyway. Gengar + Magnezone would round out the team nicely, but it would just be a team of Generic OU counters at that point. Trying to go for a Rain dance + Sandstorm thing might be cool though, but whatever figure something out.
  12. Why should I have to name ANYTHING when everyone's only referencing 2 water pokemon as being defensive? The jist of what you guys have been saying is " WATER POKEMON ARE DEFENSIVE BECAUSE CM SUICUNE USED TO BE UNSTOPPABLE " In turn why do I have look shit up? Go do it yourself. But for the sake of arguement, these fire types are bulky ( but as people say bulk is wasted on fire types ) Arcanine,Camerupt,Entei,Flareon, Ho-oh,Heatran Macargo, Moltres and Torkoal. Thats 9 of the 17 fire types. Which for arguments sake, we will call 50 % Although they can also run offensive sets. Water types have defensively: Bibarel, Blastoise, Cloyster, Empoleon, Gastrodon, Gyarados, Lanturn, Lapras, Milotic, Walrein, Suicune, Swampert, Vaporeon Whiscash, Quagsire, Slowbro,Slowking, Ludicolo and Matine. Also as you can see, many of these guys can also run offensive sets. Thats 19/50 nowhere near close to half. Lets say I even missed 5 Pokemon( which I don't think I did ) Thats still under half of what fire has. I don't even know what I'm arguing anymore. Ugh.

    Q and A

What reason is there to not be obsessed over kikkoman?
  14. 8.5 of the 17 fire types are sweepers, with the other's being status inducers/Walls. ( I say .5 because there is one that does both...but isn't very good at either but outside of that has no real role ) Out of the 50 water types, the majority of them are sweepers themselves, with only something like 15 of them being walls/ defensive pokemon. So I'm still going with bad comparison.
  15. Deoxys Speed and attack for are tied for me. They both look like Orbital frames! VS.
  16. I hope so.
  17. I wish my college would close down, I need to catch up on some sleep. D: Well its the same with AIDS, The numbers they give for death caused by aids is the cumulative total, not the actual death count per year. Most of the deaths caused " by aids" is only rapidly increasing because more and more diseases are being classified as aids or the like, exponentially increasing the number of deaths per year ( as the definition of aids is constantly being rewritten or expanding to include more and more sysmptoms/diseases . )That is however not to say that AIDS is not a real threat, but STD's are 20x ( thats an actual statistic not an estimation/guess ) more common than aids throughout the world.
  18. The same way CM/CroCune and Cursepert try to sweep? Choice specs vaporeon? Sub Petaya/Agility Empoleon? Raindance dragon dance kingdra? CB aqua jet Azumarill? DD gyarados? There are more offensive Water types than their are fire types. Yea, buts more metagame oriented than stat/ability wise.
  19. Thats actually untrue many pokemon can learn grass moves ( almost half of OU ) Starmie/Breloom/Metagross/Gengar/Alakazam/Latias/Togekiss/Abomnasnow/Bronzong/Empoleon/Infernape/Blissey/Cresselia/Flygon are the ones I found in a matter of seconds that can learn grass moves. ( decent ones anyway ) The fact remains that grass type attacks will be passed up in favor of ones that offer MUCH better coverage anyway. See thunderbolt/Ice beam. Now I keep hearing water "plays more defensively" but I find this largely untrue, water types are relegated to switching in and stopping powerful fire types ( Infernape/heatran) and dragons ( Flygon/Salamence/Dragonite ) making them just as offensive as everyone else, just with more bulk. Granted water "walls" fire but thats like saying flying types wall ground types so that makes them better. Fire is not just a hit and run type! Even more so as your only referencing Infernape ( Which is ONE fire type ) There are 17 total fire types ( including Legendary's but not including Not fully evolved pokemon ) but there are 50 total water types ( again not counting NFE's, but counting legendary's. ) 2/17 in OU versus 7/50 ! It's really an unfair comparison to say that water types have more "versatility" just because their are more of them, and in terms of % of usable pokemon out of the total, its actually in fire types favor. The only reason Fire types CANNOT be run defensively most of the time is that GIANT stealth rock weakness, meaning they cannot afford to switch in and out very often ( with the exception of heatran who makes a amazing wall if used right. ) Ugh, done. I don't even like fire types that much. Sheesh.
  20. Premier ball, it's got a low catch rate but it looks SO COOL. My friend even caught his modest Palkia in one. ( He ran out of Ultra balls LOL and happened to get it with one of his 2 Premier balls )

    Hairstyles

I have mid length wavy - straight hair I guess. It's long enough to cover most of my ears and some of my forehead, but its short enough where I can part it off to the side and it doesn't go into my shirts collar. On a side note, should we start a pictures of players thread anyone?
  24. Genre? Easy. The pillows. I own all 13 of their glorious albums. On another note though, I really like anything that has serious passion put into it, aside from country and pop. Metal/Rock/Punk/Classical/Pop/Electronica ( specifically trance ) anything thats well done and that I can get into. A lot of hip hop and pop is devoid of this emotion that makes true music so great though, which makes it hard to listen to, but well done passionate hip hop is pretty intense.
