  1. It would be nice if you can do that and post what happens. Yes. If you add new Pokemon via PokeGen, it will flag those in the Pokedex. I'm pretty sure you added at least two, but if it was no more than that, I don't understand the degree of changes that're visible in the Pokedex. It would help if I knew for certain which save file was which.

    Yes.
  3. There's currently an error in 3.0.5 that causes Platinum to have data written to an area that I don't know the purpose of, and it could very well be causing something like this to occur. This isn't the case for HG/SS, however, so if it actually is PokeGen's fault, there's something else causing it. I'll see if I can determine any problems. Thanks for the detail. Edit: I'm seeing significant Pokedex edits between the first and second Platinum save files. Did you specifically do anything with the Pokedex dialog? Edit 2: You need to check these attached files. Their filenames don't match what's in your post, and I'm beginning to think the order they're displayed on this page isn't matching your post either. I can't really do anything until you fix that, assuming there's a problem. Edit 3: Between all of the Soul Silver files, there are Pokedex modifications. You said that one was supposedly only modified with Pokesav, but if that were the case, these Pokedex modifications couldn't exist unless you encountered new random Pokemon between saving. Edit 4: One of the Soul Silver files is clearly modified by PokeGen, but contains nothing unusual. Unless there are specific Pokedex changes that're somehow causing the Union Room to fail, this doesn't look like a PokeGen problem. The data is being set correctly, just like the games could.

The thread's poll was made several months ago. The favorite was implemented, and now another of the options is implemented, but not yet released. All of this is information available to you, so I honestly have no idea how you didn't get that the poll is useless at this point. As for what you were talking about, leave the nickname editbox blank. If that's not what you meant, I have no idea what you're talking about.
  5. If only everyone provided this much information without having to be specifically asked. I haven't looked at anything yet. I'm still fixing the other problem that was pointed out before yours. Edit: Ok, I found and fixed the weird card text problem. I still have to investigate the ID thing though. A note on the text thing though. For Platinum, this was writing data to an area that I don't know the purpose of. There's no telling what this might've done. I suggest nobody save Platinum files until the next release. For more detailed information, bytes 0xA7D0 through 0xA7DC, and 0xA7F0 through 0xA7FC were potentially being modified. This affects Platinum and HG/SS, but in the case of HG/SS, those addresses are Wonder Card description text, so it wasn't particularly problematic. As I already said, I have no idea what this area of the Platinum save file controls. In mine, it's surrounded by zeroed out data. Edit 2: Regarding the ID... those are only written to the save file when you do it manually in PokeGen or when you receive a card from some other normal means. All of those show index 2047 set. It's possible that byte isn't used for IDs, but at this point in time, I have no (easy) way to find out. Edit 3: I just checked some of my older and untouched (in regards to Mystery Gift editing) save files for Soul Silver. They also have 2047 set. I know I downloaded some cards from the Nintendo servers on those files, so I'm assuming either something had that ID, or that byte is set as a result of something related. Regardless, no HARM is being done at the moment. It's just annoying not knowing if that's supposed to be an ID or not. Edit 4: Bond697/Mat and I did some digging around in the game code and it does seem that this byte is handled differently in some way, and that it isn't related to the IDs. I still have no clue what it's actually used for, but I'm fairly certain that it's not for IDs. With that in mind, I'll be removing it from the ID stuff in the next release. You can just ignore it for now.

I know, but thanks. I've just been lazy about changing it.
  7. I've confirmed this, but don't know the cause, and have yet to investigate. Can you upload your save file for this one?

(This is still being worked on.) And for those not in the Facebook group, save state support is also going to be in the next release. (It's already done, I'm just waiting on the Japanese Black 2/White 2 release.)
  9. I think I know why this might be happening. I'll look at it soon. Edit: Fixed for the next release.
  10. Nobody (should) complain if it genuinely has a better method of doing a particular task. The question here becomes "Is Pokesav actually converting the data?", and I'm betting the answer is no. (Not that PokeGen will either by simply doing the drag/drop operation, but at least changing the target game afterward will yield more desirable results, if not exactly what's desired.)
  11. The code generator says hi.
  12. There is no "save all" option. Unless one of the translations says that, I have no idea where you're getting it from.

    Translations

Well, uh, there's already a mostly-complete Japanese translation, but I'll use yours to fill in the untranslated parts. Edit: Updated and made public. There was actually a lot more untranslated than I thought in Guested's version. Thanks.

Visual Studio 2012 no longer has support for XP. That's really the only thing I can think of right now that's a reason for this poll. The C++11 support in Visual Studio 2012 is going to be extremely helpful. More significant than that (and later down the road), Windows 8 provides an entirely new UI framework for software. It's absolutely amazing from a visual and programming point of view. The down side is that it's not even going to support Windows 7. Microsoft developers seem to be getting less tolerant of maintaining "legacy" support as long as they did with Win9x, and I agree with them. On a related topic, I don't see the operating system used by companies or organizations as significant. There are significant differences between them and home users. What Kaphotics mentioned about an out-of-date version for XP users might end up being what's done. It's pretty annoying having to hold things back in order to support people that can't update their hardware/software after nearly 10 years.

I am what? I think I know what you mean, but I'd rather find out for sure first.

Those statistics don't even agree with the word "most". The majority of the others that I've seen also don't say Windows 7 is "most". That's the problem. Given how out of touch a lot of people that post here seem to be with computers in general, I'm expecting the XP use for this program in particular to be even higher than the average.

(I see this forum's poll system is even better than I thought... [Hint: extreme sarcasm]. The text is supposed to say "I'm not interested if you're using non-Windows. Don't bother posting to say so.".) It's possible that XP support will be dropped in the future, so I need to find out how big of an impact that'll have if it's done. I may put some (toggleable) code in the next release that tells projectpokemon.org what OS you're using. (Just the version number, absolutely nothing else.)
  18. Noted. Edit: Fixed for the next release. This'll likely be delayed until the Japanese release of Black 2/White 2, however.
  19. You don't need permission to make a thread for non-against-the-rules content. Just because you're labeling it a "guide" doesn't mean it needs approval.
  20. http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?21211-Questions-and-answers If you're telling me that following the steps outlined there, in the proper order, with no stupid mistakes being made such as not choosing the correct game and language, the correct card, and actually setting the card to a slot, post again and provide those details for me.
  21. 3.0.5 ADDED: There's now a combobox for specifying the ability value of a PID when one is automatically generated for you. ADDED: Tooltips are now available for the Mystery Gift dialog. FIXED: Generating codes for generation 4 Pokémon was outputting all of the selected Pokémon into each code instead of individually as intended. (Found by zwab.) FIXED: The "<" button in the Mystery Gift dialog was moved down a little where it was intended to be. FIXED: Generation 4 Mystery Gifts weren't being written properly by saving or by codes. (Found by vergil2010.) FIXED: Pressing up or down with tabs focused would cause controls to disappear. (Found by SpikeVanHellsing.) FIXED: Pokémon IVs in generation 5 Mystery Gifts weren't being displayed accurately. (Found by Guested.) FIXED: Changing languages wasn't properly resizing the main dialog. FIXED: Selecting a PID in the PID Finder and then clicking "OK" would result in the main dialog's nature combobox being set to an invalid value. FIXED: The first party Pokémon can now be dragged to a folder or another instance of PokeGen even if a second party Pokémon doesn't exist. FIXED: Rock Smash wasn't in the "encounter" list. (Found by shijoh20.) CHANGED: Code generation for Mystery Gifts won't display unused gift slots anymore. CHANGED: French translation updates by Drakul.
  22. I added Rock Smash to the encounter list for the next release.
  23. This is fixed in the next release.
  24. If you can provide a save file with the Mystery Gift stuff enabled for me to test with, I'll check to see if there actually is something wrong. Edit: Nevermind, I found one. I'm experiencing the same thing, that nothing is working. I'm looking at it now. Edit 2: I've verified that Diamond/Pearl does handle cards slightly differently and idiotically. I wasn't aware of this before, and it's why they aren't functioning. (No harm is being done, they just aren't flagged as "active".) Edit 3: It's fixed for the next release.
  25. http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?11643-Known-issues&p=99360&viewfull=1#post99360 Regardless of whether or not you're using codes, I'm pretty sure you have to get to a certain point in Diamond/Pearl before you can utilize Mystery Gifts.
