  1. It could take a while if you're using the wrong code......... There's no telling what's going on in that case.
  2. Thanks.

    Source Code?

The source code isn't public. It's compiled as C++, but doesn't use most of the C++-specific features, so it's more C-like.

  5. I'm quite sure someone has linked to older software for generation 3 on these forums.

    pokegen

There's nothing currently wrong with Pokemon generation/manipulation, unless you count party Pokemon. But that's easily fixed by depositing/withdrawing from the PC or simply not generating party Pokemon.
  7. Paste the code you're using, if you're using one. If not, uploading the save file after you've inserted the card would be useful.

    General Questions

There are absolutely such things as stupid questions, so yes, it does make sense. Nice try though. Then why post? People are obviously expecting help when they do so. Someone has to spend that time to respond. If it's to a question you can easily answer yourself, that time is wasted.
  9. There aren't enough programmers that have the capability and desire to try doing something like this. (That visit these forums, that is.) I'm not implying that I'm an expert, but if you ask anyone with a great deal of professional and hobbyist experience, they'll tell you the same thing I am. You can also see these big ideas all over various forums/communication mediums that rarely get realized, even in places with lots of good programmers.
  10. It's fun to think about the possibilities of things like this, but I can tell you right now that the chance of you pulling this off, even PARTIALLY, like, miniscule part, is extremely low. It's pointless to get people interested in something you're not capable of. (I'm sure this'll be seen as negativity, but it's simply reality.)
  11. In particular, the Pokedex tab made me laugh a bit. I won't claim that I'm great at design either, however. I don't think PokeGen's CURRENT design is all that wonderful, it's just better than the alternatives, to me. That sounds like a great friend. I've been in a similar situation, although not related to piracy. Can you give details? Because I don't understand, at all.
  12. Wow, and I thought the early version of PokeGen was bad in terms of its UI. I like how both the old PokeGen and your program have no concept of manually setting PIDs. If only things stayed that way. Was this at all related to Pokemon? I doubt it, but I can't help wondering.
  13. What you're missing is that this forum is labeled "PokeGen" and not "PokeGTS".
  14. Manual stats are only saved in party Pokemon files, not PC Pokemon files. I just tested and it's working fine.

Ok, I don't have any complaints this time. (I know, surprising, isn't it?) There are definitely some issues brought up with the way the program is handling resizing though. That's not your concern. Thanks for taking the time to fix the things I pointed out and doing the whole thing to begin with. As for the issue you're having, that means the language files aren't in the "working directory" of the program when it starts. Shortcuts specify the directory manually. It's the "Start in" line in the shortcut properties. It should refer to the directory that the language files are in. If it's the same directory as the exe, you can leave it blank.

Thanks. At the risk of annoying you, you still have "Used Wonder Card IDs" shortened to not include "Wonder". It should be the full string. I'd do it myself, but I'm not sure if I can just insert it in and have it make sense still.

Ok, I'll just leave it to you to decide then. As for "Used Wonder Card IDs" not fitting... that's only in the code generator. You should let me worry about the things that don't fit and just use the full text, never abbreviated unless it's supposed to be.

Everything on computers is done by calculation. In that sense, yes, that's accurate. However, "find" is more suited to what the program does. There are a limited number of available PIDs based on the criteria provided. I wasn't aware that French was significantly different in that regard. Is something more along the lines of "searcher" capable of being used? Edit: There are also more abbreviated things that shouldn't be. Specifically in the Mystery Gift text.

Surely there's something that translates as "find", and can be modified to make sense as "PID finder". The goal should be to get as close to an exact meaning as English as possible. "Viseur"? I'm just using Google's translator, which probably isn't producing something particularly sensible.

That looks better. One thing I noticed was that you seem to have referred to the PID finder as a "PID calculator", which isn't what I intend for it to be called.

So it doesn't look like I've ignored Drakul, we've been discussing things via PMs.
  22. I intended to allow codes to be combined, but decided not to spend the time on it when the code generator was changed. The notion of wanting only one code every time, regardless of whether not it works, doesn't make sense, however. Why would you want something that doesn't work? I'll assume the answer to my question in my previous post was "no", given your response. In which case it seems like pickiness or laziness, not an actual PROBLEM regarding the ability to get something done. The way it is right now is the way it's likely going to be for the foreseeable future.
  23. Uh, box Pokemon data is 136 bytes. At minimum, that's 18 lines per Pokemon when combined. You're looking at 9-10 Pokemon within the line limit. Also, are you saying that starting the game with the 30 individual codes enabled causes problems?
  24. Are you not aware that the AR hardware will fail to function if a code exceeds ~185 lines? (Unless there's some update since this was tested for me.)
  25. If you're doing this for a generation 4 game, there's currently a "bug" that isn't generating the codes properly. The next version will fix it, but I don't have a release date. If it's for generation 5, I'd imagine something else is being done wrong, because there's no way I can think of that those codes would crash anything, even if the wrong game is used.
