  1. I've watched a few of the raw episodes with sub titles made by some fan group that, even if I remembered, am probably not allowed to link to. While I respect that people have their own views, I don't see enough of a difference to spend an hour or so trying to find an episode subbed just so I can here some "curse" words or some light sexual innuendo.
  2. No, we really shouldn't. That's what fanfiction.net and personal blogs are for.
  3. They did. But the VAs were basically told to not take drastic measures in changing the voices, which is fairly common practice in the animated industry, from what I hear. Many of them do sound similar, if not exact duplicates. Ash's is a bit different, James is drastically different, but I wouldn't have known the other characters had new VAs if it wasn't for Internet Fan outrage.
  4. No offense, but I doubt it. PBR's hack checker for the wi-fi battling is fairly thorough. I have yet to actually witness a blatantly obvious hack (that being something coming out of a Cherish Ball that shouldn't be, or an illegal move set). There's an old thread in the old forums, and the hack check seems to check for everything, including hex values, and a PID-IV relation. So in theory, any hack on there has to conform 100% to in-game legal standards. But I've also heard that the hack check sometimes just doesn't work at all. So I guess it's possible. But really, I don't see that much of a problem. I'm much more concerned about having all those clauses being IN THE GAME, but aren't usable on Wi-Fi battles. I'm also left wondering why they don't keep a ranking system. You'd think they throw in something that simple.
  5. Hypnosis' accuracy is going to make me write another essay. Here's how it works on Wi-Fi battles, which I learned from personal testing. I have no idea if this also works with Union Room battles, because those don't follow the same circumstances. On a Wi-Fi battle, if a Plat cart hosts the game, then Hypnosis' accuracy will be 60% for both players, EVEN if the other guy is using D/P. If D/P player is hosting, Hypnosis will be 70%, even if the other guy is using Plat. Solution: Use Butterfree. It's ability basically gives it a 99.7% accurate sleep and paralysis move.
  6. As said, it's big selling point is the (random) Wi-Fi battling. If you can handle that, it's worth the purchase. I like playing at late night hours so I can battle people from outside North America. *and if you hack Pokes, can take the time to make them legal in every sense of the word
  7. This was talked about in "How to make a LEGAL Pokemon" thread on the old forums, and might've even been referenced on the site at some point. If you take a look at Smogon's breeding guide, it gives you the odds of breeding for certain IVs under certain circumstances. For example, breeding with 2 parents who have perfect IVs gives you a 1:59916 that the egg will ALSO have perfect IVs. This is due to the mechanics of breeding, which are ridiculous to exlpain. but the TLDR version is 3 IVs are passed down from the parents and the other 3 are randomly generated. 2-3 31 IVs is pretty much accepted as "common." I've actually caught a number of Pokemon, by chance during a regular Gym/E4 playthrough, with 1, 2, or 3 30-31 IVs. So while technically 31 IVs in all stats is possible AND legal, it's not very "likely". It also isn't likely to be of much help. For example, some Pokemon are just so incredibly frail that worrying about HP/DEF/SpDEF is not worth it. These usually fill two roles: Suicide leads: These guys start out a game with a focus sash. They usually contain priority moves, Taunt, Stealth Rock, or some form of spikes, some form of set up and team support. They're almost always holding a Focus Sash. Their job is to set up. If they get a hit in, cool. If they don't, whatever. Then they explode or faint. Aerodactyl, Weavile, Infernape, Azelf all fill this role relatively well. Glass Cannons: These are sweepers that can't take hits, at all, or something very calculated. They usually aren't used to directly counter during a battle unless they come in on something they're immune to (Weavile coming in on Psychic, Gengar on Earthquake). Similarly, if a physical attacker is only attacking, then they don't need to worry about their special attack IV, and vice versa. Other guys have stats that just aren't worth the effort, or you might even WANT a low IV. Bronzong likes having low speed IVs so Gyro Ball hits hard. Curse users like Snorlax, Torterra, and Tyranitar have crappy speed anyway, so they'll be fine with a speed IV of 3. It also depends on who you're battling with. If you're battling against the best, like people who post at Smogon, every extra point of IV will help. If you battle more casual players...eh, won't matter as much. Personally, I try to limit myself to 2-3 31 IVs when hacking, and making everything else at 15 or below. Just to be fair. Wow, that wasn't meant to be an essay. TLDR: IVs are important, but not THAT important. They're basically like bonus points. And each Pokemon has unique needs for stats; some want high stats in all; some only need high stats in one or two caregories.
  8. OHKO moves are banned in standard play anyway. And really, with Articuno's x4 rock weakness (meaning losing half of it's health due to Stealth rock) it really isn't all that great of a strategy anyway, even if OHKO moves became allowed in standard play. (and Sturdy Magnezone basically is a perfect counter to it) And the above poster is correct. "No legends" is a (stupid) clause usually used under the assumption that legendary Pokemon are inherently special and very powerful. Really, they aren't, and more than a few actually kind of suck. However, I chose to list those alternate clauses because those are POPULAR/common additional clauses. I came up with that list by either: Observation at various Pokemon battling communities Official Nintendo tournament rules Optional clauses in Pokemon games such as PBR I could write a book about every single stupid extra clauses that are out there, but those outlined in the OP are the most common,
  9. Dumb people will pay for stuff they can get for free, or do for themselves. It's nothing new.
  10. That's because the new forms don't work over Wi-Fi. You can see the RAM editing forums to use a code that'll at least make it work while battling. I'm unsure of what happens during a trade. It also might be because you traded to D/P instead of Plat.
  11. People are free to trade for non-generated stuff. I go to events in the US even though PP will almost (if not, always) always have the wonder card to download.
  12. The first 3 members of your team are OHKO by Starmie; who also gets 2hko on Blastoise (who'll never be able to take it down by himself). Avoiding a lot of common weaknesses is a top priority when making a team, even in-game teams. Thunderbolt also does not "almost paraylize all the time"
  13. I don't think religious, political, or [insert controversial subject here] talk needs to be banned specifically. If people are trolling, they can be punished for being a troll, regardless of the topic.
  14. The new forms aren't allowed on Wi-Fi at all. But you can check the other forums for an AR code that'll allow them.
  15. Oh yeah. Please feel free to make it more aesthetically pleasing.
  16. Feel free to add on to the OP, though I'd appreciate it if you added a part indicating what you wrote to differentiate from what I wrote. What do you mean by "Mark-Up"?
  17. Check the main site. http://projectpokemon.org/games/eventdownloadsdpusa.php
  18. At least in my neck of the woods, McDonald's only provides wireless for a charge, thus not compatible with the DS. The DS is fairly limited on what type of wireless signals are compatible with it. Too high encryption, having to pay or click for a TOS, going through a VPN, and many more limit the places that'll work with it.
  19. I am working on obtaining all of the in-game received Pokemon from Diamond, keeping them untouched and all that stuff. I managed to do that with the three starters and I traded them over to my Platinum cart. But I don't have a flashcart. If someone who does can get in touch with me. I'm in the chat and have AIM, same user name as here. You can PM me, but I'd prefer chat or AIM since I like being able to communicate in real-time.
  20. Crobat isn't as great as a lead it used to be due to Hypnosis going down to 60%, and it doesn't really have clear answers to the ever popular leads like Metagross (w/ Bullet Punch), Aerodactyl, or Weavile (Fake Out + Counter). It could win out against Azelf and Infernape under the right circumstances. But the best thing Crobat is for is a RestTalk counter. Sleep Machamp/Milotic/whatever, then Taunt it to prevent the use of Sleep Talk. As for Mesprit, I imagine it could serve as a good bulky lead. It can lay down rocks, set up screens. As long as it avoids the rare Pursuit Metagross, it could do quite well.
  21. Your AR (should have) came with a specific USB cable that connects it to your computer. Copy/paste.
  22. Good point. But I don't want to go through the hassle of registering for a forum and repeatedly translating every web page. Not saying it isn't possible. I'm just not motivated enough to do so. Good luck to whoever gets in.
  23. Most of the posts are just him talking about how he saw the hack checker being used. He has no overt reason to lie or make anything up, but of course like any non-Nintendo/PUSA/Pokemon Co. official, their word should be taken with a grain of salt. It's also very possible that all of the hacks that the device checked weren't actually legal in every sense of the word, hence leading to thinking it's a lot more effective than it actually is.
  24. I got excited, but then the registration page is all in greek. Any advice on getting around that?
  25. There are a few floating around, but most that I've seen are at least a bit outdated.
