  1. Kudos to LordLandon, I wish I had the ability to reroute the NDS traffic and intercept it with packet loggers too! By the way what kind of router you use? May consider it when mine breaks down -tihi! It's very nice to see progress, I'll myself look a bit into this by trying to change the server NDS looks up by also changing its WIFI settings to obtain IP form my PC, if not I'll edit the ROM itself to connect to my PC then I start to packet log and build some sort of a server, prolly going to use Java to try beat this challenge. It's kind of fun to mess around and emulate a real server -already did that with Heroes of Newerth so I got some practice by now, hehe. Btw doubt this will become a popular way to add Pokémon to your game, but kind of fun that you could actually transfer a Pokémon to a legit game by changing NDS networking, making it connect to your PC and having the server handle the rest. Had to say something because LordLandon send me a PM. :3
  2. I am not a big fan of the evolution theory in general because there are many species and they all have like 2-3 evolutions but you don't really know where a Pikachu really came from, what it evolved from in the first place. The evolution theory is crap and introducing a theory that the legendary dogs evolved from some other Pokemon species just makes it all more confusing. Just stick to them being dead and that you revive them -fits much better with the already establishes premises and it does not create new unsolvable questions that you do get when you roll with the evolution version of the story. Things were much more simpler if this had taken place on a planet far far away where Ash and his friends traveled to it -thus not knowing anything about Pokemon fits perfectly in and having the Pokedex even makes more sense (I find it odd that until now no one cared to gather data about Pokemon, and besides if the Pokedex is pre-programmed why do Ash have to go around gather "data"?...) Anyway this is my little rant on the evolution issue and some fundamental issues I have with the story itself. There is no real answer because they just make shit up lol, just stick with the story that you like best and grew up with and ignore stuff that are suddenly implemented and don't make any sense.

    Forums Upgrade

Scary, was afraid the site was hacked as projectpokemon.org showed a empty directory.
  5. There can be done more; 1) Translate the menu dialogs for Wifi, GTS, battles, Pokethon and so on. 2) Translate the image statuses in battle (though not really that important). 3) Translate the Pokedex menus and images. 4) Translate the Poketech and menus. 5) The start screen sub-menus for Pokewalker, Wifi, e.g. I am anyway happy with the patch so far.
  6. Tell us a bit about the cartridge you use, is it CycloDS or similar? Is it official JP game perhaps?
  7. Basically the keyboard when making name is split in 4 tabs; 1st is hiragana, 2nd is katakana, 3rd is latin and 4th is numbers, symbols, e.g. You can't just edit your name from one latin based name to another (our alphabet) by just using pokesav for HG/SS because it will use the english way of saving a name, using the first table and not the 3rd. I know the hex code for the name I got and for the name I want, but editing directly in the SAV using hex editor makes the save corrupt and unplayable... Is there any way to hex edit the name but not make it corrupt? Perhaps some other tool I don't know about?
  8. Question; Magnius got more images swapped in pokedex and more dialog, but could you first apply his patch then apply this patch over it for the rest of the stuff, would it "merge" properly? I tried but failed, wonder if it's possible to get the pokedex and poketech translated and it seems Magnius got that but I am not sure that he got the rest of the features this patch has sadly, it would be cool with a comparison chart but, I am getting "off question" now!
  9. If you use pokesav "generate" tool for PID but not the one where you pick shiny, gender, e.g. but the one with the list. Then those are valid PID numbers matching the IV you got.
  10. Yeah, made it so you can use: http://vlacula.no-ip.com/pokemon/legality_checker/?file=&user=&pass= You can remove "user" and "pass" if you do not wish to use http authorization. Otherwise you may if you want to protect the files from public access directly from the server. Also the "file" must have a path ending in .pkm or .zip to be accepted. Max sizes are 100-256 byte for pkm and 1mb for zip. It's so I don't get flooded or abused. Also sorry that my PC is offline sometimes but I need to sleep in silence from time to time. I plan to migrate the legality checker to my webhost but I must check if it supports EXE too!
  11. Shress, you don't need one. I just wrote some functions in Java for fun (using smogon formulas). The faster computer you got the faster you can calculate.
  12. Provide this information for shiny PID generation: - Trainer ID - Secret ID - IV's you request (minimum or exactly?) - Nature you would like to have (or will anything do?) - Do you want a specific gender or anything will do? You already provided you want: - 30 on all IV's (minimum) - Adamant But we need the TID and SID to be able to generate a valid PID that will work for you. I can make you a PID using a random tid and sid but it does take time to calculate the pids.
  13. You can easiest do this by using a "mass download" tool or addon for Firefox to help you download a lot of files that are linked on a site. Anyway, too late because I already "helped" you! Spend 5 minutes to mass download the files from the site and storing them on my own HD, then I just zipped them and there you go. http://vlacula.no-ip.com/pokemon/projectpokemon.org/pkm/
  14. But that's not fun! So I tested connecting to somewhere far like New York: (I want more upload btw!)
  15. I played the first one in the summer and it was totally fine even for adults. In the long run it was pretty much the same; do a mission, eat dinner, sleep, wake up to Loudred yelling, random chance to do the "identify the footstep" job, then it loops. As you progress the story it does change a bit but in the end it's pretty much the same! The story itself was okay, but the sidequests and all kind of got in my face all the time and after getting pretty far the dungeon part was so boring I didn't care to play on even to finish the game and find out what happens. I suspect the sequel will be the same, you do everyday routine with missions where you do the same thing you do in all missions and it just takes a lot of time and energy. In the end it's better to read the storyline on some walk trough than the game if you don't want to "waste" time. Imo a lot of things are redundant and it makes me turn down getting the sequel, sorry. (Voted No)

  17. Legality Checker said it's hacked.
  18. I myself have it: (1) Alphabetical (A-B, C-D, and so on). (2) The last available boxes are special trained, for special setups.
  19. If someone leans how SSL works ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transport_Layer_Security#How_it_works ) this will be doable.
  20. If you must do it the cmd way, you need to do as the help line suggests: Legit.exe "C:\Documents.....\Legal Check\335 Zangoose.pkm" Since the path includes spaces, you put quotes around it so Legit.exe interprets is as the first (and only) argument. Dragging a file over another automatically does just that, it calls the program and adds the path for the file you drag over it as arg1. Then it's up to the program to handle the file or not if the program is not meant to handle arguments.
  21. Thanks mate, great help!
  22. Thanks SCV but it's the same as I saw on smogon.com, and this part is still confusing to me: Suppose that we start with a PID, 0x45A6738F, 0x45A6 are the high bits of some X[2] and 0x738F are the high bits of some X[1]. You basically take the PID, convert it to hex, split it in half. You got L and H. I got the forumla ready in a PHP forumla but I don't know how to do it properly. Let's say we have 3213254321 PID, we make it to 0xBF865EB1 and split and get H=BF86 and L=5EB1 and now, what to do step by step? function rng_calc($hex) { return (0x41C64E6D * rng_calc($hex-1) + 0x6073) % 0xFFFFFFFF; } What am I looking for? Would be nice with a practical example kinda, at least for the first steps. Perhaps C++, VB, Java, e.g. sample code -just so I can see the syntax/structure. I unfortunately fail to see what we are after. It says "calculate X[3] and check whether the high bits of X[3] are 0x7FFF" but I don't get it... what a shame.
  23. I assume the access is limited to what you can do with the NDS. Except on the NDS you for example are limited to maximum 8 trainers at once when you search while tapping in would let us read all of the available. Exporting or importing, well you would indeed be able to upload pokemon data but I am not sure if they use the same structure as pkm files, I assume they hold a little more info so the server knows who to tell when the one that uploaded the pokemon logs in on GTS. If you notice its then you see that it has been traded and get the other pokemon. You can access the data you can access on the NDS, since the server handles request trough the ASP scripts -thus they are pre-programed what kind of data they will return us. I read the packet and I see that the server gives the NDS a certificate and based on that the client authenticates with the server. Now I've been trying to make a Java program (simple) connect and do just this but I have yet to succeed. If we get this to work then it will also work with any other NDS game that has a Wifi mode with some internet activity going on. They are all based on the same principle. Now I am no pro at this, I just play with code I find trough documentation and google and see if I can make something work.
  24. *Edit* Never mind, I figured out the issue and it works now. But, I still can't quite get the IV out of a PID. Could someone that knows make a quick guide how you turn PID into IV? I know and I read on smogon.com about it but it was still complicated to me. I bet you want a taste, well here you go: http://vlacula.no-ip.com/pokemon/pid/?tid=28404&sid=20506&max=20 Basically tid is trainer id, sid is secret id and max is how many results to show. It caps at 5000 because my PHP script can not allocate more space in the memory buffer. It's like a simpler version of the PID calculation program, at least I try to make it like that.
  25. That's the plan, derrick. To simulate being the NDS and login from the computer then check what you want to check. Thus not having to depend on logging on the GTS with the NDS all the time... Especially if you plan to mass-check many at once and it's much easier to be able to filter out results like people that trade X away for X (same pokemon) or trading away for legendaries (very few want to give away legendaries for normal pokemon). BUT first, someone must manage to login properly. I myself have read some and played with some Java code but yet to succeed in authenticating properly.
