  4. I have created 3 parties of Pokemon, on the correct Pokesav version, and gotten the ARDS output code. When I put it in my AR, start up the game with it, and then use it, I go to look at my party and all I can see is a black screen. Frozen. Can someone help me on this? :confused:

Original topic: http://forum.pokesav.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3814 To re-summarize: I can load my save onto Pokesav and data says I have pokemon edited and added into my PC boxes, but when I restore the save to my game cart(this isn't a ROM sav file I'm editing, it's "legit"), no data is changed. I use Rudolph's Wifi Backup tool.

I am sorry but like for example for Lugia or Articuno the previous legendary from the GBA, do I still put the hometown Sinnoh (Platinum) or put what the region it is from like johto ??? Thanks
  10. Pokémon PERFECT PLATINUM Hack of: Pokemon Platinum Story: Player starts out on their adventure following their overly-hyper childhood friend. In what starts out as just another innocent adventure the player soon finds them self fighting for the fate of the world against the evil Team Galactic in an effort to stop their power lust as they try to control the great Giratina. Features: All 493 Pokemon are available! 4 major events accessible, allowing you access to 4 D/P Legendaries! Notes: I have included every Pokemon scattered throughout the Sinnoh Region. Unfortunately, due to lack of scripting tools at this time many previous (pre-D/P/P) legendaries can be encountered randomly (most if not all are level 70+). I did my best to keep the Sinnoh dex somewhat accurate, but any Pokemon that is not in Platinum will not appear in the Pokedex. I apologize for any inconvienence but we just don't have the tools to edit the Pokedex at this time. I have edited every trade evolution! Normal Trade Evolutions should evolve at level 40. Item trade evolutions now evolve holding the trade item on level up in the daytime. 4 event items are available through in-game trades. Allowing access to event legendaries. (Be sure to remove the items from the pokemon once the trade is completed!) The Stopwatch and Alarm Clock Pokétch Apps can be acquired from the Pokétch President once you have 7 Gym Badges. Challenger's Edition has progressively increasing difficulty for experienced trainer's. Newest releases include patching program and your choice of patching methods. Patch should now be Linux compatible! I've included mirrors in case of server failure. *UPDATED* I found an error in Rotom's Form room and have corrected it. To-Do: Nothing.   12. Hi, I'm new to these forums. Can someone please help me convert my save file from 1024kb to 512kb? I have a Pokemon Platinum .sav file that that is 1024kb. I am trying to bring it down to 512kb so I can edit it with pokesav. I tried to convert it through http://shunyweb.info/convert.php but I get an error that the upload has failed.
  13. Hi everybody, I spent all morning searching the forum about this problem. I play Platinum trough M3 Lite and the passcard. I used the pokesav for many things but the Pal Park button doesn't work. When i played diamond version it worked. Can anyone tell me why it doesn't work on Platinum the pal park editing? I passed elite four and have unlocked Pal park but still i cant edit it. =S:confused:
  14. Hey No rules, which means that you don't have to stick to a type theme (for the most part, One pokemon has to be of the leader's speciality type), and legendaries are allowed. This can also count for the E4+Leader. I want to give myself a challenge, and currently have several interesting ones, like Wake's team is designed to lower attack (Stantler, Staraptor, Gyarados, Masquerain), then Politoed and Porygon-2, for example.
  15. In the course of trying to edit every aspect of a pokemon for ROM hacking purposes, I've made some findings that may prove useful. Note that no tools exist to do this (yet), so I will just provide some insights on how each file works and those of you competent with a hex editor should be able to figure out the rest. The relevant file is (/data)/application/zukanlist/zkn_data/zukan_data.narc in a D/P ROM's internal filesystem. Unpack the narc (I used kiwi.ds's NDS Editor) and you'll get a folder with 58 binary files. Files 00 through 10 contain information pertaining to the height an weight comparison features of the pokedex, 11-58 contain lists of pokemon index numbers in various orders for use by the pokedex's search feature. Following is a list of each file, what information it holds, and notes on how it is structured. 00 I wasn't able to figure out anything about this file. Editing it did not seem to result in any changes in the pokedex -- maybe the information is related to the dex but actually used elsewhere. Of note is that it is the same length as 01, indicating 4 bytes per pokemon. 01 - Weight 4 bytes per pokemon. The number stored, divided by 10, equals the weight of the pokemon in kilograms used by the "weight check" feature. Note that numerical value in kg/lbs expressed by the pokedex IS NOT calculated from this. It is stored separately in msg.narc along with most other textual data in the game. I haven't taken the time to find the thresholds on which the animation used by the scale changes; if somebody wants to do this it would be appreciated. 02 I wasn't able to figure out anything about this file. Editing it did not seem to result in any changes in the pokedex -- maybe the information is related to the dex but actually used elsewhere. Length indicates 1 byte per pokemon. 03 - Trainer Scale Divisor (for female player) The number stored, divided by 256, equals the divisor used in scaling the trainer graphic in the height comparison feature. For example, if the divisor is 2, the size of the trainer will be half its unscaled size. 04 - Pokemon Scale Divisor (for female player) The number stored, divided by 256, equals the divisor used in scaling the pokemon graphic in the height comparison feature. 05 - Trainer Scale Divisor (for male player) The number stored, divided by 256, equals the divisor used in scaling the trainer graphic in the height comparison feature. 06 - Pokemon Scale Divisor (for male player) The number stored, divided by 256, equals the divisor used in scaling the pokemon graphic in the height comparison feature. 07 - Trainer Y-position (for female player) The higher this value, the further down the screen the trainer graphic used in the height comparison feature is. Default value is 8. 08 - Pokemon Y-position (for female player) Pokemon graphic used in height comparison feature is moved down by as many pixels as the value stored specifies. Values prefixed with FF instead of 00 will actually be moved up by 0xFFFF - x + 1 where x is the value stored. 09 - Trainer Y-position (for male player) The higher this value, the further down the screen the trainer graphic used in the height comparison feature is. Default value is 9. 10 - Pokemon Y-position (for male player) Pokemon graphic used in height comparison feature is moved down by as many pixels as the value stored specifies. Values prefixed with FF instead of 00 will actually be moved up by 0xFFFF - x + 1 where x is the value stored. 11 - National Dex order Listing of pokemon index numbers in the order that they appear in the National dex. In this case that is just the numbers 0-493. I have tried adding a 494th entry but unfortunately it did not result in a new pokedex entry. 12 - Sinnoh Dex order Listing of pokemon index numbers in the order that they appear in the Sinnoh dex. Pokemon that do not appear are omitted. 13 - Alphabetical order Listing of pokemon index numbers in alphabetical order. As with height and weight, editing the name of a given pokemon will not automatically update this. 14 - Heaviest to Lightest order You get the picture by now. 15 - Lightest to Heaviest order 16 - Tallest to Shortest order 17 - Shortest to Tallest order 18-26 - Subsections of Alphabet Each file contains a listing of pokemon index numbers with names that start with a letter in the given subset of the alphabet. Within each file the order is alphabetical. For example, file 18 contains an alphabetical list of all pokemon that start with the letters A, B or C. The letters associated with each file are as follows: 18-ABC 19-DEF 20-GHI 21-JKL 22-MNO 23-PQR 24-STU 25-VWX 26-YZ 27-43 - Types Each file contains a listing of pokemon that are of the given type; dual-type pokemon are listed in the file for each type. Within each file the order goes by national dex number. The type associated with each file is as follows: 27-normal 28-fight 29-flying 30-poison 31-ground 32-rock 33-bug 34-ghost 35-steel 36-fire 37-water 38-grass 39-electric 40-psychic 41-ice 42-dragon 43-dark 44-57 - Body Styles Each file contains a listing of pokemon that are of the given body style. Within each file the order goes by national dex number. Body style information is used exclusively in the pokedex and to the best of my knowledge these list are the only thing that makes a pokemon one style or another. The body style associated with each file is as follows (names for the different styles are never provided, so I'm using the actual graphics for clarity): 44- 45- 46- 47- 48- 49- 50- 51- 52- 53- 54- 55- 56- 57-
  16. I (quite stupidly) went out and bought an AR for the sole purpose of using PokéSav without checking if the software will actually work with my UK version of the game. I tried using the program, however I can't seem to load the AR code onto the AR. Anyone got any ideas?

Infinite TMs in Gen IV --- Let me first preface this by saying that this was figured out by Mikelan98 (with some help from Nextworld and BagBoy to find some of the offsets in different languages). Mikelan98 has requested that you give credit to him if you implement this in your hack. This is simply a documentation so the information doesn't get lost - I didn't figure out any of this myself! This is for the American (U) versions of Platinum and Heart Gold / Soul Silver. Step 1: Extract the relevant files --- First we need to get the right files out of the ROM. For Platinum, you'll need the arm9.bin and the overlay_0084.bin files. For HG / SS, you'll need the decompressed arm9.bin and a decompressed overlay_0015.bin files. (Use the Extract(U) option in crystaltile2 to decompress.) Step 2: Edit the code to make the TM quantity not drop after use --- For Platinum, we want to make the following changes: * Search for "FE 00 28 07 D1 08 48" in the arm9.bin file. * Replace the "D1" with "E0" so that it now reads "FE 00 28 07 E0 08 48". For HG/SS, we want to make the following changes: * Search for "FD 00 28 07 D1 0A 48" in the decompressed arm9.bin file. * Replace the "D1" with "E0" so that it now reads "FD 00 28 07 E0 0A 48". Step 3: Edit the code to make the item quantity not appear for TMs in the bag --- For Platinum, we want to make the following changes: * Search for "FF F7 83 FF 04 B0" in the overlay_0084.bin file. * Replace the first four bytes with "00 00 00 00", so it should now read "00 00 00 00 04 B0". For HG/SS, we want to make the following changes: * Search for "81 42 53 D3" in the decompressed overlay_0015.bin file. * Replace the "D3" with E0 so that it now reads "81 42 53 E0". Step 4: Rebuild the ROM --- You'll need to reinsert the relevant files as needed. For HG/SS, you'll need to recompress them when adding them to the ROM by using the "Compression" option to import them back when using crystaltile2. After that, save and/or build your ROM, and you should find that TMs don't show a quantity anymore, and they also won't disappear after being used.

I know the button combination is Select + R, but all attempts at getting this code to work have ended up in failure. Using Select + R during the actual game does nothing, even if I change an area or whatnot. On the other hand, using Select + R on the intro (where Giratina's silhouette is and whatnot) is okay, but if Select + R are held down and then continue is pressed, the game just reboots itself like in a soft reset, meaning the code is erased from the RAM and is unusable It's restarted every time I tried this. I've tried on both the EUR (English) and USA versions of Platinum and got the same result for both. I've also tried holding Select + R for most of the intro and releasing before pressing Continue on the game; it loads up fine but there is no effect. The text just stays at the same Fast speed that I have it set on in the options. Does anyone know how you're actually supposed to use this code? I've searched loads but have never found a solid answer for it
