Okay. I'm closing this since it became a debate on the user's rules rather than RMT. For the future, there's nothing against using non-Smogon tier lists (or at some point, non-PP tier list). However, a (individual)user-made tier list is basically theory-mon, and it does seem that you are just randomly banning whatever just happens to be your weaknesses. Closed. In the future, if someone is just making crap rules or clauses and it seems to be just so their team will work, send me a PM.

I think I didn't get my point across well. While I think respect is earned, that doesn't mean people should start with no respect or disrespect. As you say, people should start on an even ground as equal as every other newcomer. EDIT: And as someone else said, civil respect should always be held ,regardless.

Debating isn't against the rules. If you can't handle having a discussion, people not agreeing with you, or people asking to justify your opinion, you should reconsider posting. And respect isn't an inherent, as far as I'm concerned. I think it's earned. Posters who could drag the community down aren't something that are necessarily deserving of respect. I think there are certainly types of members that can be seen in other fan communities that tend to polarize a forum one way or another, and make any poster who doesn't fall into an extreme less likely to post.

Honestly, I think Johto was kind of barren. And that's why Kanto was such an appeal. Even though it was essentially a ghost town, it's often cited as the best part of the game. So I think they'll expand Johto and maybe add a bit more plot (but it won't be different). Then probably add "Kanto Island" or something like that to have a nice Battle Frontier and a bunch of wild Kanto animals. But I don't think it'll be as massive as Plat. Anyways, since this and the speculation thread are basically the same. I'm going to merge them.

There is absolutely nothing that'll happen to you because of someone using hacked Pokemon, you battling against hacks, or receiving hacks in a trade. A judge at the official tournament last year says their hack check device can detect Action Replay usage, but obviously not everyone gets to observe the device up close. No, you won't get banned fro the GTS for any/no reason. It does have a limited form of hack checking, even less than PBR's Wi-Fi.

Are you talking about the anime or the games (it seems like you're referencing the "dropped plot" GS Ball of the anime, which is why I ask)? Because the games still had the plot in them, it's just it was never distributed outside of Japan. I'll give two answers, for the respective formats: Anime: Nope. Any major events involving a legendary are always going to be in the movies, or at least a special. From time to time, some "lesser" legendaries might show up in individual episodes, but that's about it. I doubt Celebi would be anywhere other than the movies. Games: I'm fairly certain that the games are going to be relatively the same (no significant plot changes were in FR/LG). I'll save my thoughts on what they won't include/will include for other threads, but I'm sure they'll keep the GS Ball in. Though it, like the original, probably won't ever leave Japan.

Actually, there are going to be a cart designed specifically for the DSi. But I doubt Nintendo would put their 2nd biggest franchise on something that's incompatible with the millions of DS/Lites out there. I'm even go so far as to bet they'll keep the DS Lite in production and knock the price down a bit, so that it appeals more to the casual gamer.

4kids doesn't do the dub anymore. The Pokemon Company, and their American partner Pokemon USA, is taking over basically everything related to Pokemon in America. The dub is now done in-house, resulting in the voice actor's changing (though some old va's are now used for minor rules). Also, the Pokemon games are getting in-house translators, rather than the guy who's done every single one so far.

It's not like they're deserving of respect in the first place. When your website's forum has a club called "Pokephilia", then something is wrong. Not necessarily with the running of the forums, but the type of fans it caters to. Having a big chunk of active members who are in the general "Creep" category (furries, fan fic writers/artists, etc...) makes it less appealing to the broader, "non-creep" type of fan.

Check back in an hour, and it should be all taken care of. Starter for starter trades are pretty easy to make. Just make sure YOU put up the offer. Don't SEARCH for one.

Correct. Using a single Pokemon from a banned tier makes you play in that tier. 5 UU and one OU? You have a team in OU that'll be facing OU threats. 5 OU and one Uber? You'll be facing the threats of the Uber tier. Since I noticed you mention "shiny", I'm assuming that this is for the Wi-Fi environment, and you're going by standard rules for competitive play. Next time though, make sure to explictly say so While Focus Band isn't banned, it only has a 10% chance of working. 90% of the time, it's like holding nothing at all. And remember, Item Clause is not standard rules. The problem with HP Ground is the only common starter who'll even care is Heatran. Yeah, it'll hit Tyranitar and Metagross for SE damage, but they're bulky enough not to care. HP Fire knocks around Scizor, HP Ice hits most of the dragons. Your third slot has better set-up moves than Screech. Taunt shuts down set up, Thunder Wave cuts down speed (useful when you're up against non-suicide leads), Light Screen gives you some Special Defense help. If you're really determined to do Screech/Explode, then you can put it in Hidden Power's slot. It's EVs are all over the place. There are many better sweepers for OU than Crawdaunt. This needs to be replaced. I think Starmie can serve this same role. Starmie w/ Choice Specs/Scarf Natural Cure Timid 252 sp atk/252 speed/6 HP - Trick - Surf -Thunderbolt - Ice Beam Scarf is recommended over Specs if you're determined to use Trick and ditch a Choice item onto Blissey. But if you'd rather pack a punch and only Trick away as a last resort, use Specs. It also can absorb status. Yes, it can also Rapid Spin, but that doesn't fit on a Choice Sweeper set. If you choose to go without Trick, Psychic, Grass Knot, or HP Fire can fit into the first slot instead. The 40 HP for Weavile on Smogn's standard set is for very specific moves. Life Orb Gengar's Thunderbolt or Azelf's Fire Blast. But Weavile really shouldn't be coming in on anything, so unless you're amazing at prediction, use the 252/252/6 spread. Weavile needs to do as much damage in as little time as possible, so Superpower is recommended over Brick Break. Tyranitar should not be used, because it's ability will then damage everyone else on the team. Choose someone else. So your last 3 just aren't competitively viable. Smeargle should be using Spore, stat boosting and baton passing. That's about it. Spikes/whatever else can be done by others. I'll make some suggestions for your 3 slots later.

I think they'll take out the ghost town of Kanto and instead extend the plot of Johto a bit as well as probably adding a Battle Frontier or some fairly obvious post-game building/island.

And...where is this happening? I'm not noticing this as some type of wide-spread problem like you are. There's a total of 19 reports in the reports forum. If this respect problem was that big, I'd think there'd be more reports. I've only seen a handful of disrespectful, mean spirited posts. And for the most part, they're not even directed at PP or members of PP forums, but other people in the fan community or at other fan sites. I also disagree that anything on the forums will hold the site back. SPPF has tons of idiots, furries, and otherwise creepy characters. But the main site itself still is quality regardless of the creepy fan-fic drawings posted on the forums. Same goes for Smogon. It's known for it's main sites, not it's forum.

There's really no need to bring up another site, at least in the context of this thread. It's not like the staff here have any control outside of PP.
