  1. Very odd, as I have not touched this attachment in a very long time. I'll re-upload it when I get home later.
  2. I agree completely, but I think this is the more appropriate location, so I closed the other thread and am re-opening this one (for now). Of course, when I finally get back to it, I was working on a program that could do this already.... NahuelDS, if you ever are unsure of where to post something or have any other questions, don't hesitate to PM, E-Mail, or IM me and ask. I'd much rather be asked a silly question privately than have to moderate the forums publicly.
  3. Well, if the PID doesn't have to be legal, then you don't really need to do any calculating. Just make up the PID, any number between 0 and 4,294,967,295! If you can make the Pokémon appear to have been hatched from an egg, that would be great too, as the PID would not conform to any known algorithm anyway.
  4. Please try searching the forum before making new posts. You answer is here: http://www.projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?5032-PPSE-DS-r10 And this thread is closed.
  5. If you are running Windows, try the Panasonic SD card formatter at http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/sd_formatter.html.
  6. Yeah, all save editors are "use at your own risk". Anyway... closed!
  7. Not to mention that the original programmer of Pokesav is Japanese and never speaks to anyone. Anyway, question answered, topic closed.
  8. Then it might be beneficial to you to change your Pokémon using Pokesav, export it to a PKM file, and use PPSE or PKMDS Box to import it back to the save... as PPSE and my program both write to the save correctly, moreso than Pokesav for sure.
  9. I'd like to point out that your avatar is a Treecko, while your "successor's" avatar is the evolved form, Grovyle. The hilarity! And you're welcome, Grovyle91. I figure if an active and useful project crops up around here, it's a good idea to give it some attention.
  10. The save file is divided into basically a current save and a backup of the previous save. Sometimes Pokesav has trouble writing to the correct area of the file. What changes are you trying to make?
  11. Great job Grovyle91! I had a feeling when you first started posting that you would make an awesome developer. If you need any help with the PKM encryption / decryption process, let me know.
  12. Ahh yeah, I remember that project. Well, like I said, you'll need some equipment to do what you want to do. The research Chase did was, IIRC, not posted publicly. Also, it was discussed on the old Pokesav.org forums, so your best bet would be to just ask him about it.
  13. From a programming standpoint, that is exactly what I was planning to do. Basically I use binary serialization to read and write the data from the save files as binary structures, and those structures are organized by encapsulation. So in order from top to bottom, it goes save file -> storage block -> PC -> Box -> Pokémon. So whole boxes, or even the entire PC, could easily be extracted and replaced.
  14. That's an intriguing idea. There is currently no way to batch import / export, but if you have the tools to backup and restore your retail cart saves, there very easily could be... my library could easily be used for such a task (and I'll bet Chase's could do the same). I'll keep this in mind for when I get back to programming.
  15. To be honest... it's been a while since I've programmed anything, unfortunately. But where I was when I left off, I was very nearly finished with a tool to convert GBA Pokémon to DS Pokémon. I am just missing a few pieces of information. I'll have to go over my code again to see what was missing, and straighten that out, before I can release a converter, since I want the Pokémon to come out 100% legal.
  16. Do you have the tools you need to actually do this though? Do you know anything about ROM or save structures in the N64? If so: if you manage to make sort of a save file timeline by making changes and re-extracting the save file from your game, we could examine the files with a hex editor and look for those changes... if Chase wanted to get in at that point, his experience with the GSC --> Gen IV conversion process would no doubt be useful.
  17. Soldjermon, thanks for pointing these guys in the right direction. The rest of ya, don't forget to search the forums for help before making new threads in the future.
  18. Hah, no, I haven't had time to yet. But as soon as I do I'll let you know via PM. Meanwhile, this topic has now strayed from its original purpose, so I think we're done here.
  19. If you can find a way to extract your save file from the N64 cartridge, let me know. Until then, nothing practical can be done with this anyway. Also, FYI, the rental Pokémon would be stored in the ROM, and the rentals would be stored in the save file; two totally different locations in the physical cartridge. It would be a completely different and separate process to get the rentals out.
  20. By "GCN" you surely mean "N64", right? Anyway, there are people who have mapped out the structure of the GB games, but I'm not aware of any program that extracts anything resembling PKM files out of them (except for that project Chase was working on a while back for extracting and converting the Pokémon data from GSC to PKM files). But why on earth would you want to do this anyway? The rental Pokémon were largely useless.
  21. I actually haven't tried out 7-Zip yet, but free + open source = good in my book. As far as I know, the only ways for you to export Pokémon from your game to your PC either involve having "special hardware" (i.e. a flash cart or that nifty USB NDS cart reader) or trading your Pokémon to someone else who has said hardware. Maybe someday someone will FINALLY crack the DS wi-fi protocol and then we can do what needs to be done via normal NDS wi-fi functions, but until that day....
  22. Well, to me, legit and legal uses of the research we do are the most useful, since they're probably not traceable and don't rip anyone off. I was just thinking about how neat it would be to have a push notification app on the iPhone that informs you of a trade going through, or an offer being made that you were tracking for. The former would be especially valuable to those outside of Japan, since we don't get to have GTS E-Mail notifications (only Wii messages >_>).
  23. I E-Mailed you back, but basically by "full filename" I meant including the extension (file.EXT). I'm thinking you are trying to open the RAR files. Am I right?
  24. Until Pokesav is updated by COM to include better Spiky-Ear Pichu support, it is a lost cause. However... give it some time and maybe a programmer with some free time can whip up a Spiky-Ear Pichu fixer application.
