  1. Amazing. A thread that doesn't have to be infracted/deleted and doesn't involve someone not being able to figure something out. I appreciate the suggestion, but I don't really think that suits the program very well. The way Pokemon are edited does need some sort of overhaul, but this isn't what I had in mind.
  2. http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?11643-Known-issues I shouldn't have to link this.
  3. This thread was already walking the line, but it just got crossed. The PokeGen section is NOT for "legality" garbage. (As is very clearly stated in the sticky.)
  4. This was not PokeGen's fault.
  5. Taizen wasn't asking for a legality check, nor is that permitted any longer here. He/she was asking why it was freezing the game. "Legality" garbage doesn't cause freezes. I personally have no idea what could cause that, at least regarding the actual Pokemon data.
  6. I moved this out of the PokeGen section as it's almost exclusively related to "legality" issues.
  7. Ok, after some testing, I can say a few things. - This isn't exactly a bug, but intended design due to lack of knowledge. - The problem is a result of PokeGen not filling in party data the way the game does. - I can't fix this because the data in question is data that has yet to be figured out, at least to my knowledge. - You can get around this by either depositing them first, as you've done, or just not generating party Pokemon at all.
  8. That's fine if you actually put thought into it, but most people don't, and I'll assume that they haven't until shown otherwise. So I apologize if that seemed overly negative. The bugs forum is relatively new. That's the only reason. Are you manually editing the stats (raw stats, not IVs/EVs) of the Pokemon? Edit: I see this was already answered. This shouldn't be possible. The data is generated the same way. The extract feature is really picky about what the code contains. It's not very "intelligent" at the moment. It's easy to make it mess up. So... I don't know what the problem is. If you want to upload your save file so that I can actually access the random WiFi battle stuff, I could do more testing. (I've not even played Black/White yet.)

    PokeGen for Mac

It literally took two clicks to find this. Why did I have to do it for you? http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?13895-Pokegen-for-Mac If you're telling me that you can't use ANY of the available programs: There are no plans to make one. Nor are there any plans to make it for Linux or related OSs. Why? Their userbase is too insignificant. The program was designed for Windows from the start. It'd require a nearly complete redesign to change that. Finally, I can't stand the zealotry that exists over Linux in particular, so I don't want to do anything to fuel it.
  10. I appreciate bug reports, but come on. How do you not see the BUGS forum? I can't look into the actual problem until later. Edit: I haven't found anything that suggests there's a problem with the program. (That doesn't mean a problem doesn't exist, just that I see none yet.)
  11. Which is intended behavior. What are you suggesting that I do? Have it remove the entire escape sequence just because you started typing one character of another? That'd just plain be annoying.
  12. Nicknames are limited to 11 characters maximum. Having it truncated to 11 is expected behavior.

    [NA] Pokegen 3.0b23

I'm certainly not going to support the concept of user-generated save files. If something is done, it'll be the addition of a new format made by me that holds multiple Pokemon. Doing this via a blank save file is stupid.
  14. Sorry about this one. I hate mistakes that affect all Pokemon. 3.0b24 FIXED: The ribbon data in the misc tab was being applied to all Pokemon upon saving.
  15. I just did a quick check and you're both right. I don't have time to fix it until 12+ hours from now, however. Edit: Nevermind, I managed to make time for it now. It's fixed.
  16. I haven't gotten around to testing it much, but no, I haven't had this problem. Beta 23 had no relevant reuploads that would make redownloading it accomplish anything.

    [NA] Pokegen 3.0b23

Save files have specific places that indicate a rough validity check on a portion of the file. Your save files have no data present for those places. This is wrong. Emulators don't do this. The real games don't do this. I have no idea what you've done, if anything, but I'm not going to adjust the program to act as if your files are valid. At least not without an option. Also, as your files are, there's no way that I know of to differentiate between any of the generation 4 games. So it's impossible to just ignore the bad data. Instead of asking me to accomodate your request, which only you have ever asked about, you should find the source of your problem and fix it.
  18. If you're using the initial copy of beta 22, that's possible. Otherwise, no, it shouldn't be happening, and isn't for me.

    Dr Crusher

That's 11 characters. You can only have 10 if you want it to look normal.

    [NA] Pokegen 3.0b23

You just want me to have 3 releases in one day, don't you? I'll fix it in a few minutes. Edit: I don't know what you're doing, or what your hardware is doing, but Pokemon Diamond Personal.sav is weird. The footers for the first two blocks in both the first and second halves are just zeroed out. At least one of them should always have data. Edit2: The Platinum file is retarded too. Both of these problems aren't PokeGen's fault, they're yours, or your hardware's. The HG and B/W files load fine.

    Poké Transfer

For those reading, this has been fixed in the latest version.
  22. I failed to note this down before and forgot about it until Guested pointed out a thread mentioning it. This is fixed in beta 23. It turned out that you were right in needing a new location entry as well.
  23. 3.0b23 ADDED: Since apparently Pokéshifting Pokémon that've been hatched results in the old Day-Care Couple value being retained, I've added "Day-Care Couple (G4)" to the location list to accomodate this. (Thanks to KazoWAR.)
  24. If ribbon data isn't loading/saving properly, redownload beta 22. 3.0b22 ADDED: German translation. (Thanks to AJFire.) ADDED: Generation 5 ribbon changes. (Thanks to DarkSteel for pointing out that there were ribbon changes.) FIXED: Locations for Platinum were missing in the Japanese translation. FIXED: Item names for Platinum were inaccurate for the Spanish translation. FIXED: Automatic PID generation was still restricting PIDs to values that match generation 4 nature rules, when generating generation 5 PIDs. This just means PIDs were less random than they could've been. FIXED: Detection of generation 4 save files was inaccurate. This could lead to an attempt to load a generation 5 save file as generation 4, causing a crash. FIXED: In the load file dialog, the text that was intended to say "Supported files" was set to "Supported files files". FIXED: The first set of male/female symbols in the character map now use their hexadecimal values instead of sharing the actual symbols with the second set. This allows for both sets to be used in nicknames again. FIXED: The "Right click" text wasn't being updated for the party slots when switching languages. CHANGED: Some updates were made to the Spanish translation data. (Thanks to Zark.) CHANGED: The formula for calculating a random PID (That is, one with the PID editbox blank.) has been changed to be more understandable for myself. This may have resulted in miscalculations of the intended data, so please report any problems, if they exist.
  25. This is fixed in the next version now. I can't upload just yet, but it'll be later tonight or tomorrow. For now, you can use \246D (male) and \246E (female) to represent the symbols you want.
