  1. There were no changes to the original trainer code and no relevant changes to the nickname code between the two versions, so this makes no sense.
  2. Updating to beta 20 from what? 2.312? Antivirus software isn't the issue at all, and almost definitely can't be. The problem is Unicode, quite clearly. In what way, I can't say yet.

There's an unmistakeable area in the Misc tab. Nothing is randomly excluded from that area. There are so many posts/guides/whatever online that can answer this question for you.
  4. I'm quite sure this isn't a problem with the program, so if that's what you were implying, it's inappropriate.
  5. Then either the post is wrong or I've messed it up. Edit: I didn't mess it up as far as I can tell. This is the intent. When I say egg, I mean egg. If I meant hatched egg, I'd say "hatched".
  6. The name looks familiar... did you report it at some point in the past as well?
  7. Trainer names are fine for me. There's obviously something weird going on for you and you alone. I'll send you a forum PM with a link to a modified version to see what I can find out.
  8. If you read versions.txt or the tooltip, you'll see that the checkbox is ONLY APPLICABLE TO EGGS. ...or at least that was the intent. I may have screwed it up.
  9. I'll check on it when I get home. I've heard of similar problems in the past, and could never determine any problem in the code. It was assumed to be something messed up on the users' installation of Windows. If I determine that there's still nothing wrong with the code, I may have you test out some modifications of beta 20 to narrow down the problem, if you're willing.

Trainer information is the only thing relevant to that.

Considering the only indicator of region is that value, I'm sure that would serve the purpose you're wanting. Oh, and I think if you change the program language to Japanese, the generated name will be Japanese. I can't remember if it's actually coded to do that or not, but I think it is.

Yes, this will happen by design. It's not what I intend to happen, but not all of the data is in place yet to change it.

  14. 3.0b20 FIXED: Any Pokémon with the matching trainer info checkbox checked was having its location data written as if it were an egg. (Found by calvin_0.) FIXED: The PID finder wasn't properly matching abilities, and would never find a match if ability 2 was selected. (Found by QuixoticContinuum.) FIXED: Characteristic text for Black/White is now accurate again. (I hope. I didn't test every one, I'm just assuming they follow a simple formula.) (Found by MetalGenocide.) CHANGED: Clarified the "Matching trainer information" tooltip, as it's only applicable to eggs. CHANGED: Pokémon names are no longer entirely capitalized when generating Black/White Pokémon. (Thanks to Kenpari for pointing it out.) (Note: If this doesn't seem to be changed for you, redownload beta 20.)
  15. I agree that it isn't intuitive, but at the same time, I don't think it's natural to assume that the data is just being saved without you doing anything.
  16. Tooltips answer 3 out of 4 of your questions. Trainer data is retained upon hatching.
  17. It's entirely cosmetic within the program.
  18. This was verified earlier. I'll fix it later, but I'm not sure if I'm going to put out another release just for that.
  19. I can understand missing, but incomplete? Which?
  20. That's what happens when it's rushed! 3.0b19 FIXED: There was a substantial error involving Pokemon with forms that frequently caused a program crash.
  21. This was rather rushed to fix some data-incorrectness bugs, so there may be some new problems introduced. I'm also not absolutely certain the new ability PID calculations are correct. 3.0b18 ADDED: Drag/drop support for non-save files. This also supports dragging of multiple files at once. Pokemon will fill all visible empty slots, but will not leak over into other boxes. This will likely be expanded in the future to be more configurable. (Drag/drop suggested by Mordecai.) ADDED: There's now a checkbox on the met tab to let you indicate that the trainer information of the Pokemon matches your save file. This is necessary to make egg met data be interpreted properly by the game. If you set this checkbox improperly, the met data won't appear as intended in-game. This only affects eggs. Normal Pokemon and hatched Pokemon aren't affected. This box is automatically checked upon loading a save file for all Pokemon that have matching trainer information. ADDED: Leaving the PID editbox blank will now generate a PID with the appropriate ability flag embedded for Black/White. The PID finder now obeys Black/White PID ability rules as well. FIXED: Generating codes for party Pokemon for generation 4 games will now properly work again. FIXED: Changing games was defaulting the code generator game combobox to the wrong entry. FIXED: There were issues with certain locations when generating Pokemon for Platinum/HG/SS. FIXED: The nicknamed flag will no longer always be set based on the checkbox on the main tab. (Found by Prinndood.)
  22. It's unnecessary, I think. I'll find out when I get around to fixing it.
  23. There'll be a fix in the next release, but it's not as ugly as what you suggested.
  24. I believe the Pokeshifter is what's used to transfer Pokemon from generation 4 to 5. There's already a thread about all the values that it changes in the process. It's not in the PokeGen section, however.
  25. This is probably related to the egg location issue noted in the "Known issues" thread.
