Its not about being outcasts. Smogon bases their results based on shoddy battle 1 which is just what its name says, shoddy. Hopefully Shoddy Battle 2 will bring something closer to the game. There are still things they don't know about battle mechanics and they ban moves just because their implementation in shoddy is not right (e.g., Heart Swap on Manaphy during testing). But even then, alot of the information used for making shoddy and its databases are based on observations rather than seeing what the game actually does. Basically the premise of using Shoddy to set the standard for all battles, I don't agree with. Rules based on Shoddy Battle data should only apply to shoddy battles and not WiFi battles. To me holding tournaments using wi-fi and the VS recorder, would seem like a better idea. Shoddy can be good for practice and testing teams. -
Shoddy has a chat window. So you can challenge someone there. Like randomspot555 said, we already have VMs and IRC which you can use.

Well, as far as I know, no one hates you. I definitely don't. Sure we disagree with some of your ideas, but that does not imply hate. As for rating, we'll check how well they are rated, etc and decide on it. Also would it make you feel better if we had a list of each user that has each rank and everything they did to get it?

Yes, the ranks are selective. We believe that ranks should be given to people who deserve them. Number of posts means very little so we are not providing rank up by number of posts. Instead we provide ranks based on specific rank-worthy qualities of the person. Before we had large bars which would have made it hard to give some people the number of ranks they deserve. Also before we just had contributor. But now we split if up and differentiate them so we can specify what the contribution was to. If you have suggestions as to other rank-worthy things, please post here. We have all the badges from all the regions and custom badges so there's plenty of rank images to go around.

yes some posts were deleted because they were concerning things we do not want discussed here. Like I said earlier in the thread, it is possible to debate and be respectful at the same time. Actually it is required.

Well, as far as I am concerned respect is not earned. Mutual respect is expected. If one person violates that then there are consequences. But we should never start by not respecting someone because they have not earned it. They'll have it automatically. But if they do certain things which we deem disrespectful or inappropriate, then we will do something so that they do not affect the rest of the community.

The way I do it is that I have the utmost respect for my real carts. I dump the roms and play them on a flash cart and there I give myself the liberty to cheat as much as I feel like. When jap platinum came out, due to me not understanding what people were saying anyways, I made myself a lvl 100 empolean and played through the game quickly. The real cart is still untouched. When the USA Platinum came out I dumped the rom and studied that and left the real cart untouched for about 3 weeks. Then I started playing it and am training for the pokemon league (I am going slow because I have other things to do). Yes, I could cheat and use Nitro Hax to get some AR codes on it, but I promise my self that my real carts will always stay cheat free. I have not played the US platinum on my flash cart because I do not want to be tempted to cheat. So as a recap: 1) Have the utmost respect for real carts and keep them 100% cheat free. 2) Play your real cart instead of the alternatives. If you ever feel like having a run with cheating allowed, then play on your flash cart. Also, I'll add that for HG/SS I'll add that out of respect for the awesomeness that is the second gen, especially Lugia, I will play through both of them on the real carts, again, cheat free.

I think and Arceus theme before a GS theme would make more sense. Once HG/SS is released, we'll be using the GS theme and be in full GS mode changing to an arceus them then, would be ....

You do know that was posted on april fool's day, right? Also a video would prove nothing since a person can easily us an AR code to make it seem like a lvl 100 Shaymin appears instead of Spiritomb.

Well, REALLY notable people would get special ranks, but probably not a VIP ranks. Maybe something more descriptive as to why they are notable. Also vBulletin is very capable. That is how we have the Developer rank and the Contributor Rank.

Well, if they don't have a battle frontier, then yes. I was going based on Platinum's size. But platinum is full of DP stuff that is not used. But to be honest knowing Nintendo and Game Freak, we'd probably see separate R/S remakes and R/B remakes for DS before they put all of it in one cart.

As has been said plenty, traveling to all regions will make for a boring game since most of the space will be used for maps. I can see them fitting both Johto and Kanto in one cartridge, a third, full size, region might be possible. But 4 would not be.
