    I am not sure how the berry patch worked, but I have a hard time believing that one can simply connect to a DS and overwrite (on a read-only card mind you) part of the ROM's code for item enumeration, as well as add brand new images. Interesting idea though.

    Leave it to SCV to be curious enough to try. Thanks for the clarification! I'm going to continue to assume that the Poffin baking and local Egg swapping features are also still in. The only multiplayer feature that I do not expect to see return is the underground.

    That would be great! I won't be available to trade until late tonight though; probably about 11:15 Eastern Standard Time. I know you didn't ask for anything in particular, but would you like an Adamant Totodile with Dragon Dance, Ice Punch, Aqua Tail and Aerial Ace? I've been breeding them.

    I'm guessing they kept everything the same to maintain compatibility with Platinum. Just as I assumed (hoped) they would. Personally, I don't mind, as A) I haven't gotten anywhere in Pt's Battle Frontier yet, and B) the Battle Frontier is just something I do when I have nothing better to do anyway.

    Well, if you know which save file structure you are looking at (either RSE or FRLG), the PKM data is easy enough to find and read. Believe me, I've been doing it. Besides, the "Kanto type games" were structured in virtually the same manner as the "Hoenn type games". How else would they be compatible like they are?

    ...Really? I uh, had never actually tried it myself. Hmm. Well, if that is the case, then I expect HGSS to follow the same pattern, so... yes, it probably will move to your inventory. (I wonder what happens if your inventory is full when you go to make such a trade?)

    Isn't the 10ANNIV a GBA event? If so, that Pikachu won't know Surf... you can't Pal Park a Pokémon that knows an HM move. Surf would have to be deleted for it to (legally) wind up on a DS game.

    I would also love a Poffin party! I have a whole bunch of berries, although lately I've been neglecting my game and therefore forgetting to visit the daily berry NPCs and grow more of what I have. Also, I am a terrible cook, so I may need to put in some practice before I'm ready... anyway. I should be available late tonight or sometime next week. I hate to sound like a jerk, but there is a link on the bottom of the image.

    Well, there are some areas of the PKM data that are unused, so more than likely they will assign the HGSS ball to one of those areas, and if it is a new ball, assign a Poké Ball to the DPPt ball area. That would create an interesting continuity issue, but it seems like the only way to retain the new ball information. When you try to trade the Griseous Orb from Pt to DP, it just disappears completely. That's probably what will happen with the new HGSS items too. That's just silly. I don't see it happening. EDIT: New news! Filb.de has reported Nintendo's (new?) dedicated page for HGSS, and just from pseudo-reading the Filb page (as I don't really know German), I can tell that: A) The Battle Frontier is indeed a clone of the Frontier in Platinum... including Wi-Fi features. B) The Global Terminal, again, is just like the one in Platinum, and the building is located in Goldenrod City (AKA Kogane/Dukatia City) in Johto. C) The Wi-Fi Plaza is featured in this game. Unfortunately from the screen, it appears your Pokémon will not be walking with you: FYI: I didn't catch any other info. Anyway, it's interesting that all this is coming out but still no mention of the Pal Park.

    Hello all, In celebration / preparation for HeartGold and SoulSilver, I am posting with the hope that someone has chanced upon a shiny Hoothoot or Noctowl. I will accept any 100% LEGAL AND LEGIT shiny Hoothoot or Noctowl, regardless of IVs, EVs, and natures, although the lower the level the better. I can offer any of the following: An Adamant Totodile with Dragon Dance, Ice Punch, Aqua Tail, and Aerial Ace A Modest Caterpie with Bug Bite A movie Arceus (from Japan) An Almia or Member's Card Darkrai A level 1 Regigigas caught in Platinum A choice of Dialga, Palkia, or Giratina A Phione I also have a Modest and an Adamant Ditto (not for trade!), so I can produce babies with either of those natures. Just ask and I'll see if I own whatever it is you want. I am generally available to trade from 10 or 11 PM Eastern Standard Time (same time as New York) onward on weekdays (Monday through Friday), and various times throughout the weekend. Thanks all!

    You do realize that most Pokémon fans are total suckers for nostalgia, right? Personally, I am not impressed with the English logos. It's not that I mind new logos, I just think they could be better.

    You do know that they were encouraging you to make that Snorlax follow you around, right? Anyway. Seen a bunch of videos of the demo, very nice. The only thing so far that I possibly could complain about is that the battle music sounds a bit too FRLG. Of course, it's a mite hard to make out with all the background noise. Actually, I also have to complain that so many people spend so much demo time in battle. Why? Battles haven't really changed since Platinum, so I'd be spending more time on the new features, personally. (I guess there's a man blocking the entrance to the Pokémon Center, so that's unfortunate.)

    Again, specifics are useful. What do you mean "it doesn't want to load"? Do you get an error message? If so, what does the message say? What size is your save file?

    That's because my program doesn't update the Pokédex yet. You should probably use PPSE now instead, since you can at least manually edit your Pokédex. Alternatively, you can wait for me to add 'Dex functionality, but I am not sure how long that will take.

    Well, load your save file first. All you can really do with it right now is move your Pokémon around. To do that... simply drag and drop them wherever you like. Do you have a more specific question?

    Yes indeed... the only problem with Emerald and FRLG was that you couldn't play them on your TV with Pokémon Box, which you could do with Ruby and Sapphire. But they were compatible with the rest of the features.

    Well, it makes sense that they would release the PokéWalker outside Japan, but I'm just too enamored with the device to take a risk. Besides, this way I get both Gold and Silver.

    I'm pre-ordering HeartGold via Play-Asia, and I'll buy SoulSilver when it comes out in the US. So I'm getting both. I'm really only importing for two reasons: 1. I'll need them to get a head start on my save research. 2. I'm not sure yet that the PokéWalker peripheral will be released outside of Japan. I want one, so no point in taking that chance!
