  1. Slot-2 is tricky, but once set up it's easier than WiFi backup (and more secure). You need a slot-1 card as well, to be a booting tool. You probably need two MicroSD cards, one in each cart. If you only have one MicroSD, you probably need to flash your DS. 1. Put Reinmoon by using the executable. Set the language as you like, the drive as your MicroSD removable drive, and only check the box for Supercard/MicroSD. 2. Put both the slot-1 card and the slot-2 card in the DS. 3. There should be an option on the slot-1 card to boot the GBA slot in DS mode (Passme mode). There are specific things you need to do for certain flashcarts, so look into it for your particular flashcart. 4. Load up Reinmoon in the Supercard interface. 5. Take out the slot-1 while in Reinmoon and insert Pokemon. 6. Instructions for backing up/restoring saves should be on the top screen. It's tedious, but it's not as tedious as WiFi backup (and it's much less prone to corruption/error).
  2. My school blocks proxies by script, meaning their systems can detect proxy code in any website and block it automatically. It killed my private CGIproxy even though it's password protected, so I know it's not a simple blacklist. I haven't looked into it, but it shouldn't be too hard to bypass. My friends all use SSH tunneling to get past the filter, but I've never had any need for it (the filter isn't particularly strict, and otherwise I would just use my phone).
  3. Use tags for a fixed width font. [code] ______ _ ______ _ |_____ \ (_) _ |_____ \ | | _ |_____) )___ ___ _ ____ ____| |_ |_____) )__ | | _ _//_ ____ ___ ____ | ____/ ___/ _ \| |/ _ ) ___) _) | ____/ _ \| | / ) _ ) \ / _ \| _ \ | | | | |=|_|=| ( (/ ( (___| |__ | | |=|_|=| |< ( (/ /| | | |=|_|=| | | | |_| |_| \___/| |\____)____)\___) |_| \___/|_| \_)____)_|_|_|\___/|_| |_| /_/
  4. I only just found this out. Apparently this has been going on at Smogon for a while. A quick skim of the article reveals the various mechanisms that seed the PRNG (DS system time, etc.) and how to exploit them to get flawless/shiny Pokemon. http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52180 SCV's article and code are credited. [Edit by evandixon] Smogon recently changed their forum system. Here's the new link (thanks to LEGOanimal22 for the link): http://smogon.com/forums/threads/rng-research.61090/
  5. NewsBot is finally fixed. Twitter should be fixed in time, too. There was a syntax error in the RSS feed that I introduced yesterday. Anyway, this is locked for obvious reasons. The topic you want to go to is here: http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1436
  6. Oh hey PokeDaemon! Long time no see! Welcome to the new site!
  7. Yeah, that explains it. Maybe some provisions in the software to stop impersonation of admins and such. I fixed it, A Hacked Soul, but don't change it again or it will become censored again.
  8. Are you referring to the asterisks under your name? Are those supposed to say "leader?"
  9. Hello. If you're asking for help with Pokesav, the best place to put it would be Save Editing Help forum or the RAM Editing Help forum (depending on if you want to use Pokesav to generate codes or edit your save). In your case, it doesn't matter. The Secret ID field is right under the ID field, to the right of Open, Save, etc. buttons on the main screen.
  10. The DSi store is completely region locked. However, DS cartridges are not, because they were not region locked on the original DS. With the original DS, there was no difference in the software between different regions. I'm pretty convinced that the Gold and Silver remakes will work on all region DS systems.
  11. After a few hours of being broken, the RSS and Atom feeds are now back up and fully running. Twitter will update with the new news soon (it depends on those feeds). Sorry for the inconvenience!
  12. I've done it in Linux before with my Nintendo WiFi USB connector, actually, to send signed demos to my DS (unsigned stuff only works on a flashed DS). I don't remember which programs were needed for it, but the USB device's Windows driver could not be utilized for Wireless Multiboot. DS Download Play protocol, from what I understand, is relatively simple. The communications Pokemon uses would be more difficult to reverse engineer.
  13. The Wii is starting to disappoint me because Nintendo seems to have shifted its focus to the "mainstream" audience. They got finished with the first wave of awesome games (Twilight Princess being the first one, followed by Metroid and Mario in 2007). After Brawl and Mario Kart, they don't have all that much under the radar in terms of traditional Nintendo games. I don't really want them to focus on stuff like Wii Sports 2, Wii Fit, or Wii Music (really unheard of until Wii Play became such a breakthrough success) - just bring me a new Zelda, a new Mario, or actually make an actually decent console Pokemon game. I barely touch my Wii (or my PS3, for which I only have two games) these days. When I do have time for gaming, which is almost never, I just fire up my gaming computer.:kikkoman:
  14. As staff here, we will try our best to keep the site free of any posts blatantly attacking other peoples' beliefs. It's our job to stay mostly neutral in many types of debates. There is a fine line between offensive statements and debate, however, and we will keep a watch for that.
  15. This is an important issue that I've forgotten to address. It seems that some people are requesting content from the old forums. I'm just letting everyone know that all the posts and topics from the old forums are still visible here: http://forum.pokesav.org/index.php Note the /index.php at the end. Adding that that will not redirect you to the new forums. The old forums are locked as an archive - you will not be able to register and you will not be able to post. If you were previously registered on the forums, you may still log in to see your PMs.
  16. Your R4 SDHC is fake. You'll need to go to the fake manufacturer's website (maybe it is printed on the box?) and download the firmware from there.
  17. Yeah, I don't think anything more than Johto and Kanto is likely in the next game. But data for all four regions in a 2048Mbit cartridge is feasible, I think. Remember, the 1024Mbit Platinum cartridge is filled with lots of trash data.
  18. Just a heads up. Since the collection of codes in this thread was largely migrated from the original forums, I have given credit to the original poster (Lady Aquarii). We are willing to do the same for any other migrated content, by the way; the original poster just needs to contact us to let us know.
  19. That's definitely what we're aiming for.
  20. Here's a photograph that was taken in the robotics room by one of my friends. We found it last year and it reminded him of the famous painting, "The Persistence of Time." I found that pretty funny. Basically it's just a bunch of old rubber bands caked together. We thought it had artistic potential and he recently snapped a picture of it (it's been probably a year since we first found it, and it was still there. pretty persistent).
  21. iPods, like many Apple products, tend to be overpriced. That's my main quirk with them.
  22. A new page has been added to the site: http://projectpokemon.org/games/shoddy.php It explains the Shoddy server and has a server status indicator (UP or DOWN)
  23. It most probably uses an online SMS thing. I know Google allows you to send free SMS through Gmail's chat function.
  24. We have added two new BBcodes to easily post sprites of all 493 Pokémon. To use them, simply use the [sprite] and [icon] BBcodes and put the three digit national dex number of the Pokémon in between. The [sprite] tag is for the large sprite of the Pokémon, and the [icon] tag is for the small icon of the Pokémon. Putting 001 in between the tags will result in the following, for example: [sprite]001[/sprite] and [icon]001[/icon] [shinysprite] will also post a shiny version of the above.
