answered Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver
KazoWAR replied to Arjun - PeeB4UGo's topic in ROM - NDS Discussion & Help
I plan on attempting a basic translation which will consist of just battle text and menus. *EDIT* I just got done doing a practice translation on the Japanese version of platinum, if the hg/ss msg.narc files are compatible with thenewpoketext, I can have it translated within a few hours. -
Saves Wanted - Platinum Save R&D: Battle Videos
KazoWAR replied to evandixon's topic in Saves - Research
I think complete .pkm files are stored in the battle video for the hack checking it does when trying to upload to the gts. They are all sav'd. At first I used to make them the max level they needed to be for a certain move or the level it evolved in to that pokemon at, but later I became lazy and just put 100. Most where made just for roulette battles, some are from my old teams. -
Saves Wanted - Platinum Save R&D: Battle Videos
KazoWAR replied to evandixon's topic in Saves - Research
Here you go. *EDIT* I am pretty sure the video data is just the pokemon for both players and a set of variables saved for each turn. Like what attacks each pokemon used, what poke gets switched in, and hax variables like critical hit chance, secondary effect chance, miss chance, numb of times a multiple attack hit does, min/max damage number, sleep/freeze ending number, and what ever else there is. I think when you play back a video, all it really does is do a battle, and reads the variables for the file instead of generating them like normal. It should be possible to change the file, but that may cause glitches. For example, it might not cause a problem if the difference of a minimum hit and a maximum hit still cause a ohko, but lets say it was a maximum hit, and you change it to a minimum hit, so in the replay the pokemon survives the hit, now it might switch the pokemon on the next turn to what was used to replace the fainted pokemon, the surviving pokemon may start using attacks the replacer would have used, or the game might just crash. It might even be possible to extract pkm files from it. Also here is another save. Pokemon Platinum.sav Pokemon Platinum2.sav -
I just realized something regarding gender-exclusive pokemon.
KazoWAR replied to clickitback's topic in Pokémon Legality
I would suggest generating the PID in Pokesav using either a Snorunt, a Kirlia, or a Combee with the correct gender, then change the Pokemon to the corresponding evolution.- 9 replies

What was that program called again?

Thanks SCV, thats not what I had last time but it seems like it does the same thing. -
I recently reformatted my computer and I want to mess around with AR codes again. There was a program that hooked on to an emulator and displayed the ds's ram. I dont remember the name and I am having a hard time finding it.
-
I use my DS to play the games, and I use emulators if I make any videos.
-
try this, change it to Raw then use the unedited unconverted sav file from your backup and load the game, then save the game and close the emulator. Your save file should be compatible with Pokesav with out converting and what not.
-
What is the save file extension? I never herd of that card so I don't know if it supported by Pokesav.
-
you could dump your game, loading the sav file in an emulator that supports codes and use it on that, then save and get the new save file with the new pokemon int it

LOLWUT@ Focus Sash Trait: Own Tempo IVs: 0/31/0/31/x/0 EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SAtk Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef) - Spore - Stealth Rock - Endeavor - Extremespeed / Bullet Punch / Aqua Jet Basically, I Spore first turn. If I out speed then I set up Stealth Rocks. If they out speed and hit him, then I Endeavor on the switch. Clean up with the priority move of choice. This set fails against faster taunters, sleepers, Lum berries.

I am guessing that when it reads it being pal parked it reads its hometown code to decides what to use for the met location, and it uses the kanto, and hoenn from the met location area, also jhoto and sinnoh maybe safe guards to prevent the game from crashing if the pokemon was said to be pal parked yet has a hometown in johto or sinnoh.

i was lucky enough to have my feebas tile in emerald by the land. I was on route 119 fishing for carvahna for atk EVs and it came.
-
The Pokemon's stats do not match for what their EVs should give them. Also, you would need to make a new video to send using the newly legal Pokemon.

I always though it was weird, how falkner's gym trainers had like a level 14 spearow or somthing and he had a level 7/9 pidgey/pidgeotto

I tried submitting the code 2 days ago after I completed it to the USA Platinum OFFICIAL AR Codes Thread, but so far it hasn't been added, so I decided to post it here. Made by KazoWAR Battle Music Modifier Demo: gimMPi45go4

Sabresite made a program called Pokemon TrashByte Normalizer from what I seen it works perfectly fine. Unless something new was discovered that made the checksums invald for the .pkm file for legality or something. Download Link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=U1PAA6C6

I submitted the code to be added to the list of codes in the USA Platinum OFFICIAL AR Codes thread, but so far its not been added yet. I will post it here for the mean time. Made by KazoWAR Battle Music Modifier

Thanks! SCV help me out a little bit on the IRC, but what you showed me here help me make the code alot smaller! Its completed and a BEAST I made it user friendly so instead of entering the decimal value for the music's hex value, you just enter in 0-17 and press start.

I am still very new at making AR codes and now I have been trying to convert my 34 different music codes in to one big code that you can use the calculator poketch to change them, like the USA Wild Pokemon, Level and Nature Modifier code by SCV. Now the problem I am having is that it seems that the location in RAM for the Calculator's display changes each time it boots the game. when i first began work, i mapped its location and made a test code, it consisted of 3 different music codes to pick and I was able to switch between them all. Then I finished it up for 14 other codes, all 16 battle themes and mute for trainer battles. I tested that and it was working still. I closed the emulator, I then made the last 17 for wild battles. I reopen the emulator and it was not working, even for the trainer codes. I then removed the wild battle codes and its still not working. I remove the rest of the codes and only had the original 3, still not working. I test with only one code and that if the calculator reads 1 and start is pressed then play this song at the start of a trainer battle, STILL NOT WORKING! Now I am all upset because I don't know what gives, it was working before. I then decide to go back one last step and remap the calculators display location. Its in a DIFFERENT location! I close and reopen the emulator again and remapped, and its in a 3rd location. Rinse and repeat and its in a 4th, 5th, and 6th location! They are very close to each other, in my 5 remappings, they all resided in 0238FExx, xx being that in each mapping the last 2 values where different. Here is a sample of my code, remember that in my original mapping, 238FE0C was the location of the calculators display location. 94000130 FFF70000 5238FE0C 00000002 0210B76C 00103DE0 1210B770 00002050 D2000000 00000000 How does his code now where to read for the poketch calculator's display location when it changes ever time the game loads?
