Pokemon Labyrinth - PGL - B&W - Eeveelutions event
Guested replied to Guested's topic in Event Pokémon News
---STATUS UPDATE--- The official site has posted that the PGL will be relaunched on October 4th, but the PDW not being available until October 11th. This has resulted in the Eeveelution event being pushed back a little bit. It will now be available from October 20th until January 1st. Other restrictions include that (at first), you will only be able to use PGL for an hour a day and that usage will be limited to only those who actually have a copy of BW. Between those who will contribute their savs, and those who have passed their account info along to me (to collect and extract the savs), we will have all of them covered. Submitters: Vaporeon - buzzthebatgirl Jolteon - Alpha, lorddaniel Flareon - Guested, Chancellor Cole Espeon - poke_soccer_fan, ShiningMew2 Umbreon - war-lord, d4rk_13l1t2er, Aquaguy34 Leafeon - Sol64 Glaceon - Gallade Let me know if I missed you ----Those of you who passed your account info along to me, I would yet again like to remind you to NOT link that Daisuki Club account with your PGL information (as I will not be able to access it if you do). ----Those of you who will be submitting your savs, please follow this guideline below (I have updated it): - You must access the Pokemon Dream World (PDW) in the Pokemon Global Link (PGL) website and link it to your Daisuki Club account using the Campaign link (will provide better details on that when I can get a screencap). This can be done between October 20th and January 1st. In B&W: - Get the C-Gear Key Item from Makomo at the Sanyou City Research Center (needed to sync w/ PGL) (back up your sav file) - Use it to send a Pokemon to sleep (to the PDW) (aka, sync your save game with the PGL site) (back up your sav file) In PGL website: - Encounter your Eeveelution (however it works). The site says there is a board in your house with photos of the pokemon you've encountered. In B&W: - Wake your Pokemon up (aka, re-sync your save game with the PGL site) (back up your sav file) - Go to the High Link location and have your dream-encountered Pokemon join your group. (back up your sav file) - Eevelution is yours! As you can see, we would like FOUR sav backups so that we can compare before and after properly. (before sync, after sync, after resync/before pickup, after pickup) If you are not comfortable posting your savs in public on this thread, you can send them to me, and we'll get to work on extracting the data and getting it released in a usable way. Thanks again everyone! I'm really pleased that so many people contributed to collecting this very complicated event! -
What kind of move are you changing? From what I've heard, egg moves and Gen IV move tutor moves are currently banned from random wifi battles. So the problem could be that, not a problem with PokeGen. Also: Rating mode for Random Matches has been down for maintenence for the past 14 hours or so. It's scheduled to be back up in 30 min.

Aren't egg PIDs just random, basically?

つうしんこうかん (通信交換) Still isn't in there (for in-game trades) The location value is 30002 Also, I think the multiple locations are used somehow for High Link. Not sure if you can catch pokemon in the High Link areas, but the game just might need to have that data in there. I'll check it out a bit more sometime. Codr, what do you think about adding an option to sort the met locations by value instead of alphabetically? It's a bit tough to sort through everything with the Event-ish locations now mixed it, and it would also provide a good way to set the duplicates off to the side (as they would then appear further down the list)

つうしんこうかん、通信交換 also doesn't appear in met locations (used for in-game trades) However, Codr has said that the location list is incomplete currently, so oddball locations like these aren't ready yet.

Kyoto Culture Festival "Trade for Evolution!" Event
Guested replied to ReignOfComputer's topic in Event Pokémon News
They will most likely also be distributing the older pokemon shown in the poster. It said it encouraged the participants to trade their pokemon and see what happens, so it'll probably just be an assortment of trade evos and trade-item evos. -
It's still buggy and incomplete, and providing a link to megaupload or other services is not a good, safe way to distribute software. PokeGen will be fully compatible shortly.

Pokemon Labyrinth - PGL - B&W - Eeveelutions event
Guested replied to Guested's topic in Event Pokémon News
I wasn't able to really get anything accomplished in PGL after I sent my pokemon to sleep because the server was too overloaded. It also appears that the PGL will be down for maintenance for 7 to 10 days. This shouldn't effect this event at all, since it won't start until Oct 1st anyway. -

I've just arrived home with my game and have skimmed the instruction manual. Regarding PGL: You use your Daisuki Club login info and a "Game Sync ID Code" from your BW game to link the two together. You can only link one of each Black and White games to one Daisuki Club account. Once you have synced a game to your Daisuki Club account, you cannot change it! So, once again, if you have given me your Daisuki Club account info Please do not sync your Black or White game to it, or I will be unable to access it and extract the event pokemon. Thanks everyone. I'll put more info up here about the PGL once I've gotten there and tried it. -

I have to go to work, but I'll be home in about 12 hours and write up a guide if no one else has. (I'll also let you know about NDS Adapter Plus then) Two users comtributed their login info to me, so I will be picking up Espeon and Leafeon (as long as they don't use those accounts to link to BW in the meantime). BUT, if you still wanted to contribute your login info to me (for Vaporeon), be sure to create a new, separate account for playing around with in the meantime. That goes for ALL of the users who have sent me login info. PLEASE DO NOT use those accounts anymore. If you sync them to your BW game, I may not be able to, thus defeating the purpose, and we may lose those eeveelutions. -

Hello anyone who played this. If you: don't have confidence with your ability to backup your sav file, or won't get the Japanese game, or don't think you can navigate the Japanese site (or just can't be bothered to do any of this), I can do it all for you if you are willing to send me your Daisuki Club signin information. I'll also push for you to get an Event Contributor badge for the forums. Contact me by PM if you are interested. -
As Nigoli said, it appears that the the numbers are individual. They're also called "Serial Numbers" instead of passwords, so I believe that they do not repeat. It is highly doubtful that you can use the same password on more than one account, so I really don't think anyone would give you theirs. If you want one, it looks like you'll have to: a) buy the book b) hope that the Japanese community is as ambitious as we are with analyzing any new sav file formats and extracting the data or c) hope that I'm extremely lucky with the three serial numbers I have. Also, there's already a thread about this event, so I'm merging these threads.

The official Pokemon site (Japanese) will have an online poll from Sept 18th until Nov 1st of this year. The most popular Pokemon will be available to meet in the Pokemon Dream World (and then transfer to your Japanese BW game) from November 5th until January 31st of next year.

Well, I trust you guys have played Metroid games. As you know, she never talks in Metroid, Metroid II, Super Metroid, Zero Mission. Fusion is run by an internal monologue and commands from her ship's computer, Prime 1 is narrated by Samus's interactions with computers and ancient civilization, Prime 2 the sage talks to her, Prime 3 people talk to her. But she never really SPEAKS, herself. ... That is, until Other M. Now, the voice acting of most of the characters in Other M is pretty surprisingly good. However... I always seem to cringe whenever it cuts to those terrible Samus internal monologues. ESPECIALLY when she mentions the "baayybee." Whoever did the voice acting here is obviously trying too hard to be dark and brooding. Team Ninja's overly dramatic writing doesn't help the situation much, either. Voice acting aside, Other M is a freaking awesome game. Which brings me to my point: Samus should just be left in a non-speaking role. Get a chick that resembles her, then leave it at that. Don't let her talk, other than grunts. And as for the movie itself... well, Stan Winston isn't around anymore to do it right (see Iron Man) with animatronics and CG mixture, so it would have to be purely CG. And since so few studios these days seem so incapable of using CG special effects in a liveaction movie without it looking awkwardly hilarious (see any Spider-man movie for prime example), they really aught to do the whole movie as CG anyway.

He later said his contact confirmed them all as real.

heartgold / soulsilver Pokemon Showdown! (Version 1 Released!)

Sorry, you're gonna have to wait and see on that one. But it'll be an interesting surprise. -
heartgold / soulsilver Pokemon Showdown! (Version 1 Released!)
Guested replied to Guested's topic in ROM - NDS ROM Hacks
It's an interesting idea, but no. As this guy said, they would all have to have custom sprites drawn and that's quite a bit of work. But even at a technical level, we've basically run out of editable trainer classes, so there isn't really room in the ROM for that many more outside trainers. -

As I've said many times, even if there is no software to edit the sav files, we can still extract the needed data (due to awesome smartguys like the above-posted Nigoli!). This is why we ask that you submit your entire sav file. As for flash cart compatibility issues, this will most likely be fixed quickly, as HGSS was. The event doesn't begin until October 1st, so that's roughly half a month. -

If you read any of the several posts where I explained this, a flash cart is fine. In fact, it is MUCH easier to access your sav file with a flash cart than it is with a retail cart. You should have no problem contributing if you only have a flash cart. (This is based on an assumption that flash carts will work with the PGL) -

Awesome! It's coming together, but we don't really have all of them covered yet. A lot of the people who have posted have not said whether they can/will contribute their saves. If you don't have wi-fi access by October, I can help you out. I could even sync your sav file to the Daisuki Club account for you, if you wanted (for future use). For reference, the Plus works with HGSS (I can personally vouch), so IR won't be a compatibility problem. And most people I've talked to believe the Plus also works with DSi enhanced games. Even if it isn't compatible for whatever reason, it can be updated to work with a firmware update (they've already released at least one update/compatibility fix so far). -

On September 10th, a book called Pokemon Pia will go on sale in Japan. http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%83%9D%E3%82%B1%E3%83%A2%E3%83%B3%E3%81%B4%E3%81%82/dp/4835613562 This book will contain Pikachu earphones (neat, sorta!) as well as a password for you to enter in your Pokemon Global Link account to encounter one of the three Kanto starters (with different abilities) in the Pokemon Dream World (PDW) and sync back to your Black or White game save. I plan on buying one, but you can only enter one password per account.... I think? (Can't find confirmation on that yet... actually, I really have no idea on this as there isn't any official word, I just heard it on other sites) I have no idea how the passwords work. There may be millions of passwords that randomly generate one of the three starters upon being entered, or.... there maybe be only three universal passwords, one for each starter. (it appears they are each individual, not set passwords) If you feel ambitious and want to try collecting one or more of these for the site, the Amazon.jp link is above. Also, if you find any more info about this event, feel free to post it here. (See my thread about the Eeveelutions event for PGL/PDW for info regarding the PGL and backing up your save files.)
