Which is your favorite Pokemon Spin-off version for the DS?

I'm thinking of making a pokemon ROM hack of Pokemon Mystery dungeon: explorers of time/darkness. are there any tools that can help me? I will need: something to edit text something to edit cutscenes something to change the pokemon personality quiz something that can edit dumgeons/the pokemon in them. anything that can change the boss pokemon at the top of a dungeon something to change the name and number of floors of a dungeon. so basicly, I need links to things that can change...pretty much anything in PMD: EOD/EOT. credit will be given if you want me to credit you in the opening sequence!

Hello. It's me, MasterKirby1982. For years playing Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team, in 2019 I forgot to post a code I had in my notebook, but I'm not sure if you're interested... Yes, I am talking about the Pokémon Modifier code in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team. Pokémon Modifier Region: USA/North America 1st Member/Leader (Also Partner??) 1213BD00 0000???? 2nd Member/Partner (Also Leader??) 1213BCAC 0000???? 3rd Member 1213BD54 0000???? Region: PAL/Europe 1st Member/Leader (Also Partner??) 120E772C 0000???? 2nd Member/Partner (Also Leader??) 120E76D8 0000???? 3rd Member 120E7780 0000???? The Pokémon Modifier code means that when you enter a Dungeon with a team whose Pokémon you want to modify, they are modified in the way you want. For example: If before you were a Pikachu as the hero and Eevee as the partner, now just by entering a dungeon the Pikachu is now a Mew (In this case Mew is '0097') and the Eevee is now a Celebi (In this case Celebi is '0114'). Its that. And NOTE: By modifying the Pokémon, the Pokémon's movements and statistics will not be modified and also the Pokémon's home area is not changed... Just changes the Pokémon species and Pokémon type itself. Thats for all the Pokémon Modifier code.. But there is ANOTHER Pokémon Modifier code type in this Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game called Starter Modifier. Starter Modifier Region: USA/North America Hero 121136A8 0000???? Partner 121136AA 0000???? Region: PAL/Europe Hero 1211221C 0000???? Partner 1211221E 0000???? The Starter Modifier, unlike the Pokémon Modifier, is a code that only affects when you start a Game or save point at 0. Once a new save file has been started, a test will appear in which the game WANT YOU to answer some answers... (some answers that are only affected by your lifestyle) just to make the game verify which Pokémon you are going to like. Starter Modifier code breaks its test rules with just change the "????" Values of it on the Pokémon you want to select, yeah I mean you can select 1 Pokémon of the 386 Pokémon in the game as A STARTER with ITS HOME AREA, STATS BASE, MOVES AND MOST IMPORTANT SPECIES AND POKÉMON TYPE! Not only the hero affects this but also your PARTNER TOO! IMAGINE STARTING YOU AS MEW (HEX: 0097) AND CELEBI (HEX: 0114) AS YOUR PARTNER!! IT'S INSANE!!! IMPORTANT NOTE: Of the 360 Pokémon (Not than the default starters of the game Aka Pikachu, Eevee, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulba, Torchic, Totodile, Cyndaquil, Trecko, Mudkip, Chikorita, etc...). There are parts where the game will not be able to make you play with your desired Pokémon that you want to play. And that means that the game reacts by just freezing or crashing your entire game as long as the Pokémon does not have the exact models that only the initial Pokémon have... I mean, yeah its frustating that you can't play the entire game with your favorite Pokémon of all Time because it doesn't have the right models that the game needs to progress and to prevent the crash/freeze thing...but is what a game works! :') If you want to play the entire story of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon with your own favorite Pokémon, you will need to modify and edit/add models of that Pokémon you want to play to make the game try not to crash or freeze over and over again... Yeah I'm speaking of modding the game, you need to MOD the game to FIX these problem that the game has and its not my problem is the game's problem! Your Welcome! Okay... Tired to speaking this... Here I'm putting all the Pokémon values, for the Pokémon Modifier and the Starter Modifier code, enjoy with it! And I hope you like it! ???? A little late, but my SkyTemple Hack Jam entry, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Fount of Victory, is here! Tired after being everyone's punching bags for so long, Magikarp and Feebas have had enough and attempt to scale Mt. Victory, which brings promises of unlimited victory for those who reach its depths! Join them in their 16 floor expedition as they search for the mountain's blessing! The version of the game I submitted was somewhat unfinished, so I updated it to fix some of the more glaring issues. 1.1.0 Changelog FoV 1.1.0.xdelta

explorers of sky Sky Editor - Sleeping sprites?
DriftWinter posted a topic in ROM - NDS Discussion & Help
I've modded a rom of Explorers of Sky using Sky Editor, so far everything works great, all the portraits I've made work perfectly, only problem I've come across is that the game doesn't use sleeping sprites, which is kinda distracting. Anyone have any idea if it's possible to force the game to use sleeping sprites? Each pokemon has them. I'll also leave the portraits I've made so far available to download, in case anyone was interested Portraits.7z- 2 replies

This is a 20min replayable-friendly hack about an Espurr and Litwick that live together. It is very dialogue based, containing only one "optional" bossfight. Made by dede6giu Espurr sprites and portraits by Nero Intruder Litwick sprites and portraits by Ernmuffin The newest patch => 3-DAYS_patch.xdelta (US Version of the ROM) I hope you have fun playing it!

I hacked my EoS hero to be a Shaymin, but I can't use a Gracidea on it to transform into Skymin. It simply says "it had no effect" when attempting. Is there any way to make the hero a legit shaymin that can transform?

So as a preface - I've been playing though a modded version of Explorers of Sky with a custom pokemon. It's worked all fine up until the mentioned cutscene, where the game just stops working and remains on a black screen after the "Chapter 12" image disappears. I originally searched if anyone had encountered anything similar and a person had encountered the same issue playing as a Palkia - https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ds/955859-pokemon-mystery-dungeon-explorers-of-sky/answers/578081-the-game-crash-after-mesprit-battle-whats-causing-this I did have a few AR codes enabled so thought it was that, but decided to do a little more digging - debugging in SkyTemple. Using a completely untouched EoS ROM, I encountered the same crash without any AR tampering when using both Palkia and Dialga. It also occured when I imported my custom sprites to replace bulbasaur's sprites so I assume it must be something to do with sprites. All other pokemon I've tried worked just fine(Gallade, Giratina(both forms), steelix, darkrai, diglett). For the script itself: It's Scene G01P04A with script m14a0901. Debugging that exact script has it no longer step through the code after supervision_Actors(3) is called at the beginning. I'm not too familiar yet with the debugging of Skytemple or if there's any way to validate the sprites in some way to know what exactly is causing the problem. The fact that it exists in the base game is useful as it means it's easy to replicate, but if anyone has any idea why the scene crashes if a player or companion actor in that scene is dialga or palkia then I'd like to know. Not knowing how to fix my custom sprites is annoying. EDIT/UPDATE: I found that removing one of the supervision_Actor calls lets the scene run properly. Would it be due to too many sprites or something? Looking at the debug log output after the supervision_Acting starts to get called: Below is the whole process, when it works correctly. Nothing seems different with the logs outputted at the very least

Hey! This is a small project a friend of mine and I started in order to bring PMD:EoS to our native language! As you might know, the situation for portuguese fans of Nintendo's work is very bad, specially worse on Brazil. Besides not getting ANY translation support from Nintendo's games, here in Brazil they straight up didn't even existed until recently: everything was imported - thus out of reach to most families. Besides maybe the wii and SNES, I don't think anything else from them is popular around here (of course, I mean on physical form. Emulators are famous, obviously). Anyhow, by February 6th 2021, we've translated the first chapter, the personality quiz fully, and working on menus and chapters 2 and 3. We plan on putting on a demo out soon! June 21th 2022 => 7th chapter done. If you are willing to help, please do contact me. The newest patch => patch2025-01-01.vcdiff If you want to know how it's going or if you find any issues such as misspelling, don't feel scared to talk to me on discord! I am on skytemple's server, and my tag is dede6giu on discord.

A story that has a small possibility of being expanded on, and I would consider a prologue, I present to you my first ever hack. This is a story of a human turned Pokémon found on the beach by a team. While that team is out of town helping him get back to his world, the human stays back in town and another Pokémon begins to see the human as someone they can bond with. This hack demo has no dungeons and is roughly 15–20 minutes, varies based on how fast of a reader you are. Story is subject to change in time as this becomes more of a game than a short story. No set release. Edit 17 June 2023: After a two-year hiatus, as of June 2023, Distant Connection is back in development. The demo will no longer represent the final product, but I will still be loosely using some cutscenes as a skeleton to work with, though the cutscenes will also be altered from the original product. Edit 29 September 2023: A new short video is now out to share a snippet of what has been created, as well as an update to confirm that I am back at work on this hack and story PMD Distant Connection Prologue.xdelta

Chip 2+1 update! This is my team's entry for SkyTemple's hack jam! The jam ended half an hour ago, so I'm posting the link on this website as well now! To recap, the topic of the jam was "An Unlikely Team"; and the gimmick was "Have a Pokémon not present in the base game take an important role". This hack is a continuation of PMD: Chip, my only previous finished hack. It follows Emmy (the protagonist of PMD: Chip) as she tries to get back yet another Apple from a thief, accompanied by the Staryu that first stole her Apple in Chip! The hack was made by our team of people - Team Portal! The team includes me and two other people: Filthy (filthy0173 on Discord) and Pazkallan (pazkallan on Discord). The hack features 4-5 short dungeons for a total of around 35 minutes of gameplay. Below here are a few screenshots and a patch for the clean US ROM. Hope you enjoy! Hack Of The Year update: A new version with plenty of features has been released in honor of HOTY! It contains plenty of new features, such as: Skippable cutscenes Polish and QOL improvements Extra content in the main menu This is one step closer to being the definitive version of Chip 2, so I hope that if you play it, you'll enjoy your time with this new version! Chip 2+1 update: Chip 2 gets a new name with this new version! This version bundles the prequel hack "PMD: Chip" within this hack, making it so both can be played on just this one package! If you've ever wanted to experience the Chip saga in full, this is your chance! This version also includes a short explanation for skippable cutscenes, one of the new features present in the Hack Of The Year update! chip2.xdelta

Two Pokémon: Journey To Heaven A Google Translate romhack! Current Version: In Development The Joke: Google Translate romhacks have been a thing for a long time now, Explorers of Sky hasn't had one yet, though. With the release of SkyTemple, one is now being made blended! Play through the same heart wrenching game, except with the heart wrenching part removed and replaced with lines that really deserve a mature warning. Where To Get: As the romhack is still in the making, there isn't much to show on it, much less a download link. Some screenshots are put here as well for a glimpse at what's to come. If you'd like to follow its development, consider joining the Translate Blender Discord server. When it is done, a download will be available here as well, so it's not required.

I've been fiddling around with SkyTemple lately and I decided to make a short ROM hack out of it! The story is based on a very basic one-shot a friend of mine mastered to test out a PMD tabletop RPG we're playing I made this mostly to test out SkyTemple and have a bit of fun with it, so it's really short - you can complete it in about five minutes. The good thing is that this means it's complete! You can easily play it from beginning to end. Attached here is the xdelta patch (to be applied on a US ROM of Explorers of Sky) as well as a few screenshots! - EDIT: Due to the newly published hack showcase, I added a few more links! A full playthrough of my hack My Twitter account (I won't talk about the hack there, but it is the best place to contact me) You can also contact me on Discord - I'm miju1148 chip.xdelta

Project website: https://skytemple.org Hi! A few months ago I wondered if there are any tools to make custom PMD2 ROM Hacks. I found out that much work on the games had been done, but there wasn't really any user friendly GUI editor to make custom ROM hacks. So I decided, I'd give it a shot and try to make my own. This tool can edit both the ROMs of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky EU / NA. Now, before I begin, I want to stress that NONE of this would have been even remotely possible without people like @psy_commando, @Nerketur, @evandixon, @MegaMinerd or any of the other PMD ROM hackers. I'm not somebody who's good at reverse engineering ROMs or actually finding out how stuff works. They did all the hard work (especially Psy!) and they deserve all the credit for it! All I did was filling some gaps and building this editor, that I'll now present to you...: Features Map Background Editor Let's you view and edit the backgrounds of the map. Supports importing map backgrounds from image files. The collision of the map can also be changed. Scene Editor Let's you edit the position of Pokémon and Objects on the overworld maps and change how cutscenes are built. Script Editor / Debugger Let's you edit the script files of the game and debug them in realtime. > Script Editing You can edit all scripts in the game with features like auto-completion and calltips. > Debugging You can set breakpoints and let the game halt at different parts of the code. > Debug Overlay A debug overlay shows you where objects, triggers and Pokémon are rendered and what their hitboxes are > Game State View the current state of the Ground Engine, the game's script engine: What scripts and scenes are currently loaded and which actors and objects are placed on the map? > Variables View and modify the current game variables in real time. > ExplorerScript ExplorerScript is a new high level language that the scripts in SkyTemple are written in. It is compiled to the binary code (SSB) that the game uses. Dungeon Editor Edit and create your own dungeons and customize the spawns for each floor. Dungeon Tileset Editor Edit the graphics of dungeon tilesets. Fixed Room / Boss Fight Editor Edit treasure rooms and boss fights, create entirely new bosses and assign them to dungeons however you like. Ground Lists Change various lists in the game, such as the starters, the recruitment list, a list of placable NPCs (actors) or the world map. Pokémon Data Edit the data of Pokémon, including stats, move learnsets and portraits. More Features Apply ASM patches to add new functionality to the game Edit misc. graphics, such as the fonts or the message borders Edit all text in the game Source Code Can be found on GitHub: https://github.com/skytemple Downloads (Linux, Mac, Windows) Discord We have a Discord community for support: https://discord.gg/4e3X36f

Please be sure to hide any PSMD spoilers within spoiler tags, until the game is released in all regions ! About This Thread: This thread is mostly for posting on-going research notes/progress and findings for the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Gates to Infinity and Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon games. Both games use very similar formats, and work generally the same way, which is why they both share the same thread. Information: Here are links to interesting posts in the thread, and to external websites. How to extract PMD:GTI rom's content How to batch decompile the lua scripts A nice little cheat sheet + Lua primer for those interested! Lua 5.1 experimental sandbox escape exploit Notes: Here are some links to notes, or to the wiki on the various file formats and etc of the games. SIR0 format Megadrifter's notes on the IMG format Utilities: Here are some utilities for dealing with the file formats in PSMD/PMD:GTI : ... Current Problematic Issues: Here are some of the things that are currently holding us back right now: No way to test modifications/investigate on a 3DS/emulator. My 3DS isn't unlocked. So having someone with one willing to try things out would be nice! (EDIT: Actually, thanks to ironhax I can run homebrew on it now But not much else ) This post will fill up as time goes.

Seeing as the PMD games weren't mysterious enough, I made a randomizer for them. This program randomizes the following aspects of the game: Pokemon Attributes Abilities Move learnset Typing IQ Groups [*]Dungeon Attributes The pokemon that appear in each dungeon The items that spawn in each dungeon The terrain appearance of each dungeon The music of each dungeon [*]Starters These options can all be enabled and disabled independent of each other. The Randomizer currently only supports Explorers of Sky (US), but I am working on support for more versions in the future. Downloads: v0.10.1 Screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/93pVI https://imgur.com/a/rsku1 Notes: Certain pokemon, such as legendaries and unown, are untouched by the randomizer for either mechanic or progression reasons. Planned features: Writing all the randomizations to a text file for easy viewing Weather Add option for randomized moves to be baised towards pokemon type/stats Support for more game versions!(possibly even GTI & PSMD) Known bugs: None! yet... This tool requires Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 to run. You can see the source Here Please report any bugs you find! Special thanks to: OgreGunner & nhahtdh of GameFaqs - Major research on where dungeon data is stored. psy_commando & evandixon of Project Pokemon - Research on pretty much everything else about Explorers of Sky, creating the wiki page for it. vadixidav - Helped a lot with some of the coding.

Hello friends right now I would like to ask what is the progress of hacking the PMD games so far I heard that a map editor is in the works and a save editor exists but I want to know if a literal HACK can be made I must know this for a project I have decided to do. I will appreciate anyone who answers this question because I will know if I should wait a little longer to start the project or start now thank you for your time. -Boured-
