  1. I'm named after the villain Culex from SMRPG. And, well, I capitalized the X for no reason at all.
  2. Jirachi. It's just an impressive sight, not as "natural" as most of the others.

  4. "Correct" as in correct numbers or as in "original PID from the old game"?
  5. If you chained it, it'll relate to your trainer and secret ID, so if those are wrong, you'll have a tough time.
  6. Either way, you should set in the top right of the Pokemon editing window the language to ENG, otherwise your Pokemon isn't from anywhere. To get a shiny, make your Pokemon to have hatched, then any PID from "Generate" will do and it's still legal.
  7. I'm a Gyarados. I can take some hits, but if I get pissed, I rampage down whatever is in my way. However, if someone knows my weaknesses, I'm beaten before I can even say "Pizza". The test says that I'm an:
  8. I use a Bibarel and taught Fly and Surf as actual attacks. In Gold/Silver, I used two Mews to do the job.
  9. It's quite a hard decision. I guess I'll go with Jirachi. A pain to obtain in Europe (Seriously, Nintendo, give us some bonus discs, too!), a nice balanced base stat set and decent typing.
  10. Otherwise, you might want to take a look at NitroHax. It works with ARDS codes, but is a homebrew application and only depends on a simple XML file which can be edited with a text editor.
  11. The HM fly. There's nothing like it and it makes life so much more useful. But an actual flying/levitation mode at great speed would be great, too.
  12. I just want to note that the current version works flawlessly with mono, so OS X and Linux users shouldn't run into problems when using it, either.
  13. Hello there, I found the so-called "Shiny code" in the official code list. It seems that it forces the game to calculate a PID that results in a shiny Pokemon. Obviously, the code was made for a US copy of Pearl. Now, are there any operating system independent methods to port the code or even better, is anyone willing to port the code? I am running Linux and have no Windows available anywhere, wine/mono do a terrible job sometimes, especially in stuff like emulators. However, I do not need any possibility to get shiny wild pokemon, so that could maybe simplify the job a bit. If required, I can give an already-completed German Pearl savestate. EDIT: The code from the url stated in http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2111 does _not_ work. It simply crashes the game if I activate or deactivate it and encounter a Pokemon or hatch an egg. I don't know yet whether it just overwrites the PID with some generic value or if they're really correctly generated. It looks fine to me, though. Thank you very much
  14. My first shiny was the red Gyarados in Pokemon Gold. But, my first "wild" shiny, was an Electrike in Ruby. That one is quite a story. I enter Route 110 for the first time ever. Now, the first Pokemon I saw there, was a shiny Electrike, which I immediately caught, of course. Then, the next one was a non-shiny one, I caught that one, too and released the shiny one, since I thought green would be its shiny color. A stupid mistake. I hate myself for that until today. Even funnier: I recently played through Ruby again. Guess what? The first Pokemon on Route 110 was again a shiny Electrike and it's still safe and sound in its box.
  15. The effective solution to a "cheating addiction" is to statisfy ALL your wishes. Once you run out of stuff to do, you'll automatically stop. Or you might end up finding that it just seems plain wrong and do it the manual way. The developers thought of an effective solution to cheating: It's called cheating.
  16. Hello, My name, CuleX, comes from the optional boss Culex in Super Mario RPG. I kind of sticked to it all the time. Well, I'm interested in beta stuff, hacking, game internas and such techy stuff, especially in "complex" things like Pokemon. There's nothing else to say (Seriously, I always find introductions to be so insanely difficult!). CuleX
