Or I should better say sukoku did a great job. I don't get it to work so I think maybe there are some undocumented differences when it comes to Japanese e-Cards... who knows... I prefer to do things without injecting when and where possible as well. I'm glad it exists but I'm not a fan of actually using it. I can scan in my E-reader cards into an English and Japanese save if you need to compare them.

Jovie
@HaxAras @Sabresite apologizes for the unnecessary remarks, I managed to get a flashcart and used the mystery gift tool developed by these talented people: [GEN III] Mystery Gift Tool as I was looking for the best way of obtaining the tickets without messing up the save file (action replay messed up my save file) and the injecting tool is indeed amazing! Thanks guys for your all your hardwork!
suloku
A little interesting information: http://pokemex.com/tcg/puntos-de-reunion/egs/ Electronic Game Show 2004: aurora ticket Electronic Game Show 2005 (21-23th October): Mystic ticket So this gives european emerald cartridges 2 days to go there for the event and get it, which is another possibility besides the event at Boston the 22nd (Emerald was released in Europe on October 21st). I'll see if I can find someone in that forum that went to EGS 2005 with a non-english FR/LG cart and received the event.
Sabresite
@BlackShark and/or @suloku, any chance of getting the regidoll code from @HaxAras's save like you did with the ECB/ECT?

There is no code. When you scan the Regioll e-Card it adds the doll directly into your storage.

Rufinian
So is there any way to change the Altering Cave on E or RF/LG? Edited November 10, 2017 by Rufinian
Guest
Yeah. And like I said to you in my last message, most of the e-Cards are preserved already and thanks to No-Intro even with verified hash. Except a few cards everything else is preserved. I don't know which ones are missing but I guess @BlackShark might have a list. One thing IMO... and I know I repeat myself when I say this... But it would be really neat to have Mystery Events completely analyzed. (And the e-Cards could be helpful to achieve this) And by this I mean including the communication process between the systems... (I think everything else is there already from what I remember...) This way we won't have to rely on injecting scripts and we might be able to activate Events like the Eon Ticket for Japanese Emerald more naturally. The same goes of course for transferring Mystery Gifts. (Joy Spot) Everyone who is capable to disassemble is very welcome. Edit: @Rufinian not legally. We do have the prototype script extracted from the FireRed, LeafGreen and Emerald roms... However this Mystery Gift was never officially distributed. The Altering Cave Event has a serious design flaw anyway. The Mystery Gift Script works so that everytime you talk to the deliveryguy in the Pokémon Center the Pokémon inside the Cave Changes. The responsible value for it advances by 0x01 to be exact and this each time you speak to him, which is because there is no flag for it. The script can be run over a d over. This goes until 0x08. After that it starts again at 0x00. These are the Pokémon for each value: 0x00 = Zubat 0x01 = Mareep 0x02 = Aipom 0x03 = Pineco 0x04 = Shuckle 0x05 = Teddiursa 0x06 = Hundour 0x07 = Stantler 0x08 = Smeargle However once you toss the Wonder Card, the script is gone as well. Which means you stuck with the last Pokémon you had in the Altering Cave. It's possible that they scrapped the Distribution of the Event because of this flaw. Alternatively they could have planned Event to make the Event so that it sets the value to only one of these Pokémon. But that doesn't make sense because the theme of the Cave is that it changes... so that would make only sense if they do the Event several times, which sounds troublesome... or you would have to decide which of the 7 other Pokemon you want... but I think the prototype is really what it would have been at the end. There's no efficient way to fix this issue, because of the way the Cave works and the way Mystery Gifts work. It's not recommended for legal play but if you want to mess with it, feel free to use this Tool: Edited November 11, 2017 by ajxpk Typing on a Smartphone can be a pain

BloodBird
Sorry, I have a question. I really need your help. Can I use e-Reader mode in the Pokemon Emerald US version? In the Pokemon Emerald Japan version, If it was not connected to anything, the mystery gift menu will be in e-Reader mode. But In the US version, If it was not connected to anything, The mystery gift menu just outputs a message; The Wireless Adapter is not connected. So I can't read e-Reader data from US Emerald. Stupidly I struggled all day with this problem. Cause I saw a post from another site that someone could get an Eon ticket from the US Emerald to the E-reader. Am I being deceived? Help me. I don't have the originals so this is the best think i could come with... If you have any ideas on the text please share it. Also if there is anyone lucky enough to have a Wish Egg card from the original distribution (if there was a card), please share it... Edit (16/9/2015): For those who are interested in the WISH Eggs, here are the first 2 I have recreated: Do you have those Wonder cards? I mean "Altering Cave" and "Wish Eggs" because I just found the pk3 files for Eggs but never the wonder card for the Altering Cave.

Because most people got mystic or Aurora ticket so close to the wish eggs, it is doubtful if any have survived. Not to mention I was told someone who had wish and pcny pokes let their daughter restart their sapphire game, nuking everything.

I can't tell you how many times I heard stuff like this. Lost Mystery Gifts and Events because of overwritten save files...
XNightwing13666
Sorry for barging in all of a sudden, I am trying to compile all Event Items for Pokemon Emerald US version, are there any roms/e-card roms for the Old Sea Map distribution? XNightwing13666
And another question Is it possible to get the Old Sea Map by Record Mixing between a Japanese Emerald sav and a US Emerald sav?

Not possible. Old sea map isn't passed via record mixing. also don't ask for Roms. That's piracy and against our rules.
Guest
Wow! I noticed that in a few months it's 3 years since I started this thread. There hasn't been any update a long time though... The last thing I tried was to figure out the difference between the communication of the Japanese and the International games. Because for some reason the American Aurora Ticket ROM won't communicate with the Japanese games. They don't recognize each other. So I did some disassembly work but I couldn't find the reason. I would appreciate if someone could take a close look at the asm, maybe I just overlooked something... Or if there's anyone who has experience with this communication stuff it would be great as well. Btw. Since I don't expect any new Mystery Gifts to appear I decided to make everything about Gen 3 Mystery Gifts public... including the checksum algorithm, so you can find everything in the first post of this thread. There's everything you need to know for editing Gen 3 Mystery Gifts, for example in case someone wants to add Gen 3 Mystery Gifts to PKHeX. I think it would be great for PKHeX to support Mystery Gifts of all generations. Thanks for your understanding and for being patient! I really did my best as a preservationist and sometimes wished it went just a little bit more successful... Enjoy!
