Disclaimers: Do not set the top screen menu to "Map and Team", this will break the game! This is a demo and does not contain the whole game yet. Gates to Infinity Demake is a project that aims to recreate Gates To Infinity in the form of an Explorers of Sky rom-hack. Made In celebration of GTI's 10th anniversary, this hack aims to recreate the original game as closely as possible with minor improvement along the way. With improvements such as more starters, faster text speed, improved graphics (very subjective), and reworked dungeons. This project is a work in progress and is constantly changing. Frequently Asked Questions: Is this hack complete? Not yet. While I plan to cover the entire game, It is currently just a demo for now. When will this hack be complete? Not for a while. It takes a lot of work to make rom-hacks, and considering how ambitious this hack is and that I'm only one person, it may take up to two years or more to complete. However, I will be updating the hack with more story and gameplay so be sure to check every so often. I also have a twitter where I'll tweet when major updates come out. How do I play this hack? You'll have to patch a clean US rom of Explorers of Sky in order to play this. You can use xdelta to patch the rom which come preinstalled with the download. After that, you can play it on any nds emulator or on an actual DS. Will this hack feature base-building Yes Some of the Pokemon are different species from the original game. Why? All gen 5 sprites for EoS are fan-made and many sprites don't exist yet for certain Pokemon. These are currently placeholders with whatever species is the most similar. If you find any bugs, issues, or have any suggestions, then feel free to ask me on the SkyTemple Discord: https://discord.gg/skytemple Special Thanks to TheKitchenSunk for helping with gameplay and balancing
  2. Hi, I'm looking for a few animated assests from the games, I'm planning to do a small animation test using files from the games, but I need help finding a few: Waves moving while at Beach + Bubbles Crystals changing colour when touched + entrance appearing Gate of Time appearance and animation Portal appearing behind Dusknoir + disappearance animation - Hidden Land Primal Dialga roaring + Normal Dialga roaring World being restored Lapras flying towards the Hidden Land (the drawn looking scene) Rainbow Stoneship moving Grovyle and players struggling with binds (In The Future) Prison Portal appearing behind Dusknoir in Treasure Town + Dissapearance Time Gears being placed into the Tower All blank without any characters please. For the animated 'drawn' cutscenes, it may be easier to use them, but is there a way to get the scenes without any dialouge poppng up?

  4. I've modded a rom of Explorers of Sky using Sky Editor, so far everything works great, all the portraits I've made work perfectly, only problem I've come across is that the game doesn't use sleeping sprites, which is kinda distracting. Anyone have any idea if it's possible to force the game to use sleeping sprites? Each pokemon has them. I'll also leave the portraits I've made so far available to download, in case anyone was interested Portraits.7z

  7. So as a preface - I've been playing though a modded version of Explorers of Sky with a custom pokemon. It's worked all fine up until the mentioned cutscene, where the game just stops working and remains on a black screen after the "Chapter 12" image disappears. I originally searched if anyone had encountered anything similar and a person had encountered the same issue playing as a Palkia - https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ds/955859-pokemon-mystery-dungeon-explorers-of-sky/answers/578081-the-game-crash-after-mesprit-battle-whats-causing-this I did have a few AR codes enabled so thought it was that, but decided to do a little more digging - debugging in SkyTemple. Using a completely untouched EoS ROM, I encountered the same crash without any AR tampering when using both Palkia and Dialga. It also occured when I imported my custom sprites to replace bulbasaur's sprites so I assume it must be something to do with sprites. All other pokemon I've tried worked just fine(Gallade, Giratina(both forms), steelix, darkrai, diglett). For the script itself: It's Scene G01P04A with script m14a0901. Debugging that exact script has it no longer step through the code after supervision_Actors(3) is called at the beginning. I'm not too familiar yet with the debugging of Skytemple or if there's any way to validate the sprites in some way to know what exactly is causing the problem. The fact that it exists in the base game is useful as it means it's easy to replicate, but if anyone has any idea why the scene crashes if a player or companion actor in that scene is dialga or palkia then I'd like to know. Not knowing how to fix my custom sprites is annoying. EDIT/UPDATE: I found that removing one of the supervision_Actor calls lets the scene run properly. Would it be due to too many sprites or something? Looking at the debug log output after the supervision_Acting starts to get called: Below is the whole process, when it works correctly. Nothing seems different with the logs outputted at the very least

  9. A story that has a small possibility of being expanded on, and I would consider a prologue, I present to you my first ever hack. This is a story of a human turned Pokémon found on the beach by a team. While that team is out of town helping him get back to his world, the human stays back in town and another Pokémon begins to see the human as someone they can bond with. This hack demo has no dungeons and is roughly 15–20 minutes, varies based on how fast of a reader you are. Story is subject to change in time as this becomes more of a game than a short story. No set release. Edit 17 June 2023: After a two-year hiatus, as of June 2023, Distant Connection is back in development. The demo will no longer represent the final product, but I will still be loosely using some cutscenes as a skeleton to work with, though the cutscenes will also be altered from the original product. Edit 29 September 2023: A new short video is now out to share a snippet of what has been created, as well as an update to confirm that I am back at work on this hack and story PMD Distant Connection Prologue.xdelta
  10. Chip 2+1 update! This is my team's entry for SkyTemple's hack jam! The jam ended half an hour ago, so I'm posting the link on this website as well now! To recap, the topic of the jam was "An Unlikely Team"; and the gimmick was "Have a Pokémon not present in the base game take an important role". This hack is a continuation of PMD: Chip, my only previous finished hack. It follows Emmy (the protagonist of PMD: Chip) as she tries to get back yet another Apple from a thief, accompanied by the Staryu that first stole her Apple in Chip! The hack was made by our team of people - Team Portal! The team includes me and two other people: Filthy (filthy0173 on Discord) and Pazkallan (pazkallan on Discord). The hack features 4-5 short dungeons for a total of around 35 minutes of gameplay. Below here are a few screenshots and a patch for the clean US ROM. Hope you enjoy! Hack Of The Year update: A new version with plenty of features has been released in honor of HOTY! It contains plenty of new features, such as: Skippable cutscenes Polish and QOL improvements Extra content in the main menu This is one step closer to being the definitive version of Chip 2, so I hope that if you play it, you'll enjoy your time with this new version! Chip 2+1 update: Chip 2 gets a new name with this new version! This version bundles the prequel hack "PMD: Chip" within this hack, making it so both can be played on just this one package! If you've ever wanted to experience the Chip saga in full, this is your chance! This version also includes a short explanation for skippable cutscenes, one of the new features present in the Hack Of The Year update! chip2.xdelta
  11. I've been fiddling around with SkyTemple lately and I decided to make a short ROM hack out of it! The story is based on a very basic one-shot a friend of mine mastered to test out a PMD tabletop RPG we're playing I made this mostly to test out SkyTemple and have a bit of fun with it, so it's really short - you can complete it in about five minutes. The good thing is that this means it's complete! You can easily play it from beginning to end. Attached here is the xdelta patch (to be applied on a US ROM of Explorers of Sky) as well as a few screenshots! - EDIT: Due to the newly published hack showcase, I added a few more links! A full playthrough of my hack My Twitter account (I won't talk about the hack there, but it is the best place to contact me) You can also contact me on Discord - I'm miju1148 chip.xdelta
  12. If anyone here has heard of JGecko codes, can anyone help me port this code from the AR DS to JGecko for Wii U? If it helps, the offset for the NTSC-U version of the game is 16000000... 13. Hi there, I made some edits to the portraits of selected pokemon so that they may properly be used as the player character or partner. I added: Electrike, Bagon, Aron, Larvitar, Poochyena, Growlithe, Houndour, Dratini, and Zangoose. In the future I may add more upon request. To use the aformentioned pokemon, you must use cheats (unreccommended as both I and PP don't condone cheating), or SkyEditor 3.2 (or Sky Editor 4.0.5 which has more features) To do list: FIX BUGS!!! Add more pokemans Create patch file so no one has to use SkyEditor Create patch file so no one has to unpack the rom WARNING THIS IS NOT A SAVE EDIT - IT EDITS THE ACTUAL ROM First back up your rom file Second, unpack the rom with DSBuff 1.0 Go to the FONTS folder Back up the kaomado.kao file if you opted not to back up your rom file Replace the kaomado.kao file with mine Repack the rom data with DSBuff 1.0 DONE!!! Please report any bugs to me either in message or emai Thank you Psy_Commando for your utilities that helped in the making of this. Thank you maker of SkyEditor. 14. My idea basically combines a favorite franchise of mine with a genre of gaming that I personally love. For a while, I have wondered what a zombie apocalypse would be like in the Pokemon universe. Would unaffected trainers have to search for un-infected Pokemon? Would wild and captured Pokemon be forced to slaughter re-incarnated humans? When thinking, I had one problem. Would a zombie virus infect the Pokemon, or the trainers? Then it dawned on me; a realm where only one of those factors remained was already around. The Mystery Dungeon spinoffs. And the idea of Explorers of Life was thought up. I am willing to let others make the ROM, I only make ideas. It would start like Explorers of Sky, with the quiz, followed by the aura thing. You awaken on a beach, thinking you're still a human. Your partner(:creep:) arrives and things get different. A single Krabby is making bubbles as a signal for surviving Pokemon. :creep: sees you, sets down a bag of supplies, and asks "What kind of idiot are you?! Just lying in the sand like that!" You tell :creep: that you're a human, and partner says, "You really are an idiot, you're just a (starter)! ... Well, what's your name, I can't keep calling you idiot." You say name, looters (Koffing and Zubat) steal :creep:'s supplies, you get them back after a very small amount of pokemon appear in Beach Cave, :creep: takes you to the camp. That's all I have plotwise, other than some notes about a possesed Dialga and a rival camp.
  15. Welcome everyone to my attempt at a full fledged rewrite of the Explorers series of Mystery Dungeon games. It always bothered me that the protagonist just acted as a mute through most of the story, despite clearing speaking at certain points. This hack attempts to make the hero Pokemon a character in their own right, they'll have lots to say on the topics that come up in the story (for better of for worse). Now along with this, I'm also making some moderate to significant changes to how events play out as well. As I felt there were more than a few things that either could have been expanded on, or just better explained. See below my to do list. Introduce Darkrai much earlier in the story The hero's amnesia will not be permanent or as severe, they will remember more and more as time goes on A better explanation provided for why Chatot steals most of your money Reworking the lore of the time gears to explain why everybody acts like they were always meant to be in 5 different locations Providing an explanation for how tf Darkrai got into Temporal Tower Potentially creating a branching story where the hero has to chooses to go with Grovyle early before they get sucked into the future, putting them at odds with their partner. As of right now, the hack is still very much in Alpha, so while an effort has been made to ensure play-ability, do be aware that some text spacing may have slipped under my radar. If you enjoyed the game, or found anything you didn't like, please let me know! I'm always looking to improve my writing and make the most involved and memorable rendition of Explorers' story that I can. So as of writing this post, the current Alpha goes right up until the end of chapter 3. 16. PRESENTATION Hello everyone! Here is the presentation of my rom hack: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Heaven. I've always loved Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, but I was always frustrated by the lack of difficulty, and the fact that the game was finishable without using all the QoL offered by the game, like IQ, linked moves and other mechanics. After discovering SkyTemple, I tried to create my own rom hack, and finally get the game I always wanted to play. With Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Heaven, you can expect : - Choose your difficulty - New starters and new Pokemon from generations 5 to 8. - New dungeons, boss battles and items. - The fairy type added. - Mega Evolution - Shiny Hunting - And other features. A secondary version "Explorers of Hell" also exists, and is available by joining the discord. This one has all the dialogues modified with dark humor, so if you are sensitive, I don't recommend you to play it. In this thread, I will present you some new features, you will also have some screenshots of the game, and you will have some data related to the game, like the list of legendary Pokémon that can be found with the mystery part/secret slab or the list of new attacks. First of all, I want to thank the whole SkyTemple team, this would not have been possible without their engine and hard work. I also want to thank the spriters without whom the new Pokémon could not have appeared in my game. Finally, I would like to thank Mond who generally helped me a lot in the creation of my rom hack. He also created his rom hack: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon : Explorers of Alpha, I invite you all to go and see his project. Remember to talk to the Porygon2 in the game crossroad for a detailed list of spécial thanks. FEATURES AND NEW MECHANICS Random features : New gameplay mechanics : New Pokémon : New moves : MASTER PLAYER USEFUL DATA Pokemon shiny location : Location of Pokemon found with the Mystery Part / Secret Slab : All IQ Groups in Heaven and Hell (Thanks to Picalex) : Pokemon Locations (Thanks to Migo) : Général Guide (Thanks to Smash) : SCREENSHOTS : New title screen : New starters / partners : Examples of new boss battles : New shiny Pokémon : Master Player & Difficulties : Old PMD Games ref : Other Screens : SPECIAL THANKS Thanks to the spriters for making the portraits of the old and new Pokémon, as well as for the sprites of the Pokémon from generation 5 to 8 : Thanks to all the SkyTemple team and its community for their help, especially : Thanks to the beta testers for spotting the problems of the game, as well as for helping me with the dialogues : Thanks to Fke for designing the text box and the teams stats. Thanks also to all those I didn't mention. Thanks also to all those who followed the progress of the game and who supported the project since the beginning. It's thanks to your messages and your support that I had the motivation to work for several months on this game, so a huge thank you to you, and I hope you will like the result. 17. Hey! This is a small project a friend of mine and I started in order to bring PMD:EoS to our native language! As you might know, the situation for portuguese fans of Nintendo's work is very bad, specially worse on Brazil. Besides not getting ANY translation support from Nintendo's games, here in Brazil they straight up didn't even existed until recently: everything was imported - thus out of reach to most families. Besides maybe the wii and SNES, I don't think anything else from them is popular around here (of course, I mean on physical form. Emulators are famous, obviously). Anyhow, by February 6th 2021, we've translated the first chapter, the personality quiz fully, and working on menus and chapters 2 and 3. We plan on putting on a demo out soon! June 21th 2022 => 7th chapter done. If you are willing to help, please do contact me. The newest patch => patch2025-01-01.vcdiff If you want to know how it's going or if you find any issues such as misspelling, don't feel scared to talk to me on discord! I am on skytemple's server, and my tag is dede6giu on discord.
  18. I haven't shared this code in a long time, but now I'm publishing it. This code attempts to duplicate the missions on the Notice Board if you want to recruit a Pokémon client. While you're on Chapter 5 of the game, after speaking with Chimecho using its Friend Bell, you can recruit/catch Pokémon either by defeating Pokémon or by completing missions for Pokémon clients. This code is based on these clients and acts as a special modifier.
