We have a major issue with this NPower PIkachu. The one from the PokeSavDB/Emtu is a definite hack. 1) WCID 202 is outside of the known range, and considering its early date, it is doubtful they would have done that. 2) The decrypted PCD shows a pokemon template missing all of the hallmarks of a legit wondercard. The battle bytes are not filled out and the trash data is missing. There are videos here, here, here, and here where it was clear that nobody had their DS with them. There was also no sign indicating you can get a pokemon anywhere. Here is the article by @Poryhack about the NPower Pikachu: https://web.archive.org/web/20090130110629/http://db.pokesav.org/main/?q=01-23-09-NPower-Source-Confirms-Hack To address the question about distributing your own pokemon, yes it was definitely possible to do at that time. All you had to do was replace the template in the ROM and stick it on a flash cart. The first NDS ROM dump was in early or mid 2008, probably Alamo Darkrai. We knew by June or July 2008 how to make our own distribution ROMs. And in 2009 there was a program made to do it for you. It was so easy that if you knew the hex offset, you didn't even have to unpack/repack the ROM. You could just paste the PCD directly and rebuild the checksum.3 points

After my recent discovery of the unused roaming Darkrai in Pokémon Platinum, I decided to create this thread and investigate the game to find even more unseen stuff in Gen 4. I discovered this unused map just a few minutes ago. I'm pretty sure all unused maps have been documented by now.2 points

Tho 3DS VC enforces the language lock; it doesn't allow Japanese to Connect with International Copies >< Data structure in Gen I and Gen II is really really limited. That's also why all transferred balls are Pokeballs. I rather they give us a mini-game to choose to recapture all the Pokemon (dream world style), this way we can choose what ball we want it to be in.2 points

Mind sending that to me sometime? I'd love to have it in case it's legit. I'm 100% finished with the story mode in Pokemon Colosseum (German). I'm just waiting for my GBA - GCN cable to arrive from my friend. (He shipped it out today). Change of plans! Mattle Ho-oh: I'm going to be making a save state before the final 10 battles. Converting the save file to every language so people can do the 10 battles and get their own Mattle Ho-oh. Duking's Plusle: I'm going to re-play up to the point where you get this and obtain it in every language using a save state. (Unless I have an early enough save from my German run.) Un-released Pokemon: Colosseum Pika/Agate Celebi: I'll be obtaining these after I get Ho-oh. Hopefully I have enough Pokecoupons. Since nobody wants to or is able to convert the Action Replay codes, I'll be using my German Colosseum save-states to get multiples and just change the nicknames/language. I'll have to figure out what AGATE and COLOS are in the other languages though to change the OT. E-reader mons: I'm going to battle the E-reader trainers 1 final time. I'm going to save at the PC next to them before each battle. I'm going to copy my German save to every language and make save states for all languages. The OT will be PPorg and the ID numbers will be all 0's. Just use the Colo/XD: save editor to input your own OT/ID/SID and catch them in your desired language. Everybody will be able to get personalized E-reader mons in any language. I'll be sharing them with @jojo12100, @Deoxyz and maybe a couple others first. Then turning them over to @theSLAYER to upload to the event gallery. Where I believe all but Japan will be in the un-released section.2 points

Hello everyone, Today I bring you a legit Celebi tour Celebi! This Celebi belongs to @Dr.Matt and he retrieved it back in 2001 in the spanish stop of the Celebi Tour; in fact he provided most of the data for it a year ago, data I posted here: https://projectpokemon.org/forums/forums/topic/13226-pokemon-crystal-version-with-pcny-event-pokemon/?do=findComment&comment=196197 This week I was able to finally meet in person with Dr.Matt. He was able to keep his Celebi from battery dying by storing it in his Stadium 2 cartridge and because he owned a Mega Memory Card which allowed him to backup and dump savegames (but not to transfer over to computer), and with that he also was able to keep multiple copies of the Celebi, including an untouched one just as he received from the Celebi Tour Truck. Unfortunately his Mega Memory card glitched long ago and he lost most of his untouched saves, so after changing the battery to his cartridge he had to restore a save that had AR codes used on it to retrieve the celebi from Stadium 2 (he didn't have the time to play trough the game to reach the point in which Stadium 2 allowed him to retrieve the pokémon), which is why instead of dumping his savegame he traded it over to mine (which is completely clean). Data-wise this should have no effect at all, since the AR codes were used BEFORE any transfer or trade took place, and the AR codes were never used in the process of getting the Celebi out of stadium and trading, but that is the reason why it is my savegame which being uploaded and not his. Only real hardware has been used for all the Stadium 2 transfer and trade process, here are some pictures (sorry for the blurry ones, we were in kind of a hurry): The Celebi as Dr.Matt had in his Stadium 2 (this picture is from a clone he fully trained). Dr.Matt's authenticity certificate, my laptop and my GBC Cart reader/flasher: Dr.Matt's certificate, his Mega Memory and his Gameboy (sorry for blurryness) A close up of the ID number on the certificate. As you can see it's 2234 and the Celebi actually has 02233. Dr.Matt thinks distribution started at ID 00000 but they wrote 1 in the first certificate they gave and they just keept adding numbers. Some pictures of the actual trade (I brought two gameboys just in case and we used mine which had full batteries): The savefile contains both an untouched Celebi as Dr.Matt received in 2001 and the same Celebi at level 100 and EV maxed. As a bonus, I also included the legit EUROPE Mew that can be found here: https://projectpokemon.org/forums/forums/topic/40508-gen-1-europe-mew-denmark-event-mew/ The savegame also contains a full legit gen 2 living dex and unowndex in the boxes if anyone is interested. Download: Gold_europe_mew_celebi.sav Note: this is a Spanish Gold savefile, but it will load in any non japanese rom. All trades have been done using real hardware, no emulators or other means where involved in the process of getting the Celebi out of Stadium 2 until I dumped my savegame. Thanks to @theSLAYER for making it possible for me to get in contact with Dr.Matt, and lots of thanks to Dr.Matt himself for keeping the Celebi so many years and being so kind to meet with me so we all can enjoy an European Celebi. This had a special personal meaning to me, since I became aware my savegames banished in 2011 and finally re-completing the 251 original pokédex by getting the two exclusive legendaries in person is like reliving that moment in my childhood when I first completed my dexes.1 point

After some tests I can say that it meant to appear at route2 before being changed for pidgey. Edit: Abomasnow encounter definitively is the one from Frost Cavern. Still no rom hacker or luma user to help us, please?1 point

I just checked Bulbapedia, and Onix can't learn it. (unless Bulbapedia is wrong) But other stuff can! Like Magnemite.. or Shellder.. or Voltorb. A teleporting bomb, that's scary..1 point

With Gen I and Gen II, the only language/region lock is to and from Japanese games. Japanese can only trade with Japanese. International versions are all cross compatible with each other. @HaxAras With Gen 1 and Gen 2 I'm sure the game's language isn't registered in an individual pokemon's data, since it doesn't register game of origin. So trading a French pokemon to German game would retain it's name, but evolving would give it it's German name. If you have a German pokemon from a French game and transfer/migrate it into Gen 7, it'd be considered French and nicknamed. However, this is assuming they have a different name between those two languages. Since game of origin isn't recorded, even if it was traded from Gen 1 to Gen 2, or vice-versa, when you transfer to Gen 7 it's game of origin would be registered to the game it was transferred from. Certain exceptions to the pokemon's names are explained on TCRF better than I could:1 point

Nope, Pokemon bank can't tell them apart. Game Origin and Language of Origin is set to the game it was imported from. In other words, if you had a ENG Magikarp obtained in Red, in traded it to GER Blue, then Pokemon Transported it, it's details will show its from GER Blue. (Gen 1 doesn't hold the data for game of origin and original language, so rather than Pokemon Bank wiping the data, technically the data doesn't even exist to begin with, so PokeBank has to assign the data)1 point

I had obtained the knowledge of npower's existence from extremely old forum posts from google which I lost the bookmark for. Firstly some trade threads had traded it successfully and on bulbapedia I found this: https://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2009691&l=db676&id=1063182054 I found it here: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Talk:List_of_Nintendo_event_Pokémon_in_2008 It appears to be a photo album from the event, and in it there is pics of the wondercard being received. It was not announced, but was distributed. Some unsubstantiated rumors claim it was unofficial, but IMHO at the time WC hacks were uncommon. Not to mention districts carts were unavailable at the time. Can we add the images and WC of the npower to the gallery? There is also a YouTube link at: This should validate it.1 point

Don't forget the Rapidash and Fearow Payday event. Edit: And the Dragon Rage Magikarp too.1 point

I think that was just a lot of generosity towards their players by Nintendo Italy, and they restricted shipping to/from their own boarders, iirc. Imagine NoA doing that, and they'd probably cancel the offer asap due to a huge influx of shipments. That goes for both Gen III events and theoretical VC savefile injections.1 point

I have a copy of all of their stuff from before they went down. Unfortunately the majority of their stuff came from us, or is hacked. IIRC, NPOWER Pikachu was a hack.1 point
