    NO. The one you got did NOT originate from Emerald! You migrated it from Emerald, but it did not originate there. By tampering with the event in (almost) any way, you are making it not legal.

    That's not what it means. You downloaded it to an Emerald game, but that event pokemon did NOT come from an Emerald game.

    Try a reformat, or buy a better Micro SD card. Sometimes bigger ones are just slower, though.

    By changing the game it came from to emerald, it is no longer legal. And YES everyone... the color of the OT is related to gender. I don't know how you guys who posted here who have been around for so long don't know that...

    Yes. If your pokemon's class is class 1, it needs to have the first ability, Synchronize. But! Kadabra and Alakazam are both Synchronize/Inner Focus, so don't worry about it.

    NovaPhoenix's solution is anything but. It's just not needed. To answer your question: Changing your Kadabra into the Alakazam species will do everything that evolving would have done to it. The EVs and base stats of the new species will make it just fine. If you want it added to you pokedex, offer it up on the GTS for an impossible or unlikely trade and then withdraw it right away.

    Smogon is: Trying to create order and predictability in a game that had the intention of being 100% customizable and unpredictable (in terms of added probabilities in addition to the normal user-controlled aspects). The only thing that makes me sicker than Standard Rules is Standard Movesets/EVs

    You wouldn't have that problem if you were using a retail cartridge. It's an emulation issue on flash carts related to access speed of the SD card.

    I'm in your secret base all the time. BAM But seriously, I like the idea of this event, and I feel like the whole giveaway idea could have been utilized a lot better by doing stuff like this more often. Remember how you could always get SOMETHING at the NY PC? They had all those random giveaways. The WC system for DP is even more capable of handling a variety of things, not just Pokemon (items, Poketch apps, seals, Accessories, etc). So I really think there'd be more draw (and more feeling of uniqueness) to be able to get SOMETHING each time you go to Nintendo World, or a PC... whether it's a random semi-rare pokemon (starter, older starter, fossil pokemon, random egg, etc), a Poketch app, or a rare-ish item. It'd make it a more unique experience to GO there and DO it. Associating the experience with the received thing. We can hack whatever we want, but you can't hack the experience. BAM! end rant.
