  1. No, gen 5 events are locked to the language of your game. For your second question, since the DS is region free and since the physical system has no effect on if you can receive events, you would be able to use an NA or PAL system with a Japanese cartridge to redeem Japanese events. The redeemed Pokemon would be the language of your game, which would be JP. That Hydreigon event is not able to be another language, only JP. A lot of western events had separate wondercards for ENG/SPA/ITA/FRA/GER, but I think most Japanese events were locked to a Japanese wondercard. I think the few exceptions would be the 2012 Singapore Fes Pikachu.

Pokémon core series save editor, programmed in C#. Supports the following files: Save files ("main", *.sav, *.dsv, *.dat, *.gci) GameCube Memory Card files (.raw, .bin) containing GC Pokémon savegames. Individual Pokémon entity files (.pk*) Mystery Gift files (.pgt, .pcd, .pgf, .wc*) including conversion to .pk* Importing teams from Battle Videos Transferring from one generation to another, converting formats along the way. Data is displayed in a view which can be edited and saved. The interface can be translated with resource/external text files so that different languages can be supported. Pokémon Showdown sets and QR codes can be imported/exported to assist in sharing. We do not support or condone cheating at the expense of others. Do not use significantly hacked Pokémon in battle or in trades with those who are unaware hacked Pokémon are in use. FAQ Support Forum <-- Post here if you have questions or found bugs

  3. There's no tool and little to no documentation for the wonder records on gen 9. You can still dump the Mystery Gift block from your save file, open it with an hex editor and try to understand/edit the values. Be aware that you'll find no support in doing that specifically, it'd be on your own. It'd probably be easier to restore an old save file and redeem the gifts again, with the correct date you want.

  9. Ah alright. Also I did get to actually checking if the cutscenes are fixed, and at least on the Nosgba vers(The one I'd been using, works fine on Desmume) they are. I'd made a new save to test the patching, which works, and to be able to check the cutscene faster anyway. It's just that you did forget to update the vers number in the titlescreen, might wanna make a note of that so people know. Thanks for responding and taking things into account though! Also I've seen where you were considering a dusk version, maybe you could add a mix of starters/partners from the current versions in with any new ones? Also, Might I suggest some hisuian forms if you do make a dusk version? I know they have Hisuian Zorua, and Sneasel and sneasler would be p cool too. Maybe Dusk could also just be primarily regional forms even? And a dawn edition could be either an assortment of shinies, or other mons entirely, who knows though. Could be other starters entirely. Either way I'm looking forward to it.

This is a ROM Hack of Explorers of Sky that adds an entirely new starter list, new mechanics, as well as tweaking the expressions and dialogue of the entire main story! Hey, my name is Gala and I wanted to share a hack I created! This hack has been in the works since October of 2023, and is a very big feat of mine. The game’s plot itself is unchanged, but bits of everything else have been altered in minor or major ways. There’s a lot of stuff to cover, so I did my best to lay it all out below! If you don’t feel like reading a wall of text, that’s okay! Download it for yourself and enjoy! (This hack was made using the US version of Explorers of Sky!) UPDATE: As of 2.0.X, I have gone on hiatus. I wish to dive back into other passions of mine for the time being. However, this project will return someday! Join the Discord to keep up to date on the latest news regarding EoS: Remixed! You can also check out my YouTube! All the starters have been almost entirely replaced, and many of them have new typings and/or move pools. I recommend checking them all out to find which team comp works best for you! I have added pretty much every SkyTemple community patch, which includes things such as Complete Team Control, Fairy Type, Choosing your Starter, and many more! It all comes together to make the experience fresh and exciting! I've also provided the necessary applications to apply this patch, all you've gotta do is provide your own untampered ROM of Explorers of Sky. I used assets provided by many people through places such as the PMD Sprite Repository, so check it out to give the artists some love! As a reminder, this hack alters aspects of the game’s story. Some characters look different with new names or are different in their entirety. The entire game’s script has edited dialogue to remedy poor translations and poorly conveyed emotions. The portraits of characters are more expressive where possible, as well. However, that is the extent of my meddling. This isn’t EoS rebuilt from the ground up, it’s more so a modified experience that allows me to learn the ropes of making an EoS ROM Hack. I've added many new moves to the game to go along with Fairy Type as well as the newer gen Pokémon added to the hack. As well as this, Protean replaces Color Change, Moxie replaces Pure Power, and Contrary replaces an unused ability slot. Added Moves: Echoed Voice, Disarming Voice, Plasma Fist, Infernal Parade, Bitter Malice, Gigaton Hammer, Dazzling Gleam, Draining Kiss, Moonblast, Play Rough, Accelerock, First Impression I have added new Pokémon to every main story dungeon. They now include all mainline starters from Gen 5-9, as well as the overhauled starter list. Some bosses have been altered as well, as well as potentially adding new boss fights that weren’t there before. Every dungeon will include level-scaling, where evolutions of mons within the base spawn pool will appear after certain points of the story. Best stay on your toes when returning to past dungeons! Here's the list of Starters + Partners and a little bit about them! Due to there being so many different options, I had to divide them in half based on the gender options in the quiz. Please refer to which group your starter choice is under! However, the partner list was unaffected by this decision, so any Pokémon with "(Starter/Partner)" is on the partner list regardless of which group it's in. 12. Try it and see? Colosseum and XD are less played games, and thus there is less interest in documenting the structure of the save file. Over the years there have been improvements, and Shadow heart gauge should be working. You can even just transfer PKM between instances of the program to skip the need to purify them.

  17. Mankey and Bulbasaur do not exist in Legends Arceus, so you can not convert them. Same with Onix which does not exist in Scarlet. Mankey exists in Brilliant Diamond, so that one works. Starting with Gen 8 GameFreak decided to cut some Pokemon out of the games. They don't even have data/models for those. Some Pokemon might get added through DLCs while others will remain unavailable.

  19. As @Kaphotics said, Gen4 save files are 512KB, not 1MB. So there could be some issues in your flashcart/emulator settings. I trimmed the extra 512KB and it works (I also added a Pichu-Color-Pikachu in your Box 2, so you can directly use it to trigger the Spiky Eared Pichu event). Pro tip: you can use TWiLight Menu++, a DSi menu replacement, also with flashcarts. In this way you can have the best DS roms compatibility. 22. PKHeX is open source, you can see its conversion routines. Overriding your settings to No will skip updating things to match the save file. Eggs from other trainers must be traded, so they must be updated to be met as a link trade egg instead of from daycare. Handler states and memories must be adjusted as if a new (or previous) trainer is handling it. When no, it skips doing all that, which lets you inspect the original values. Again, you shouldn't need to override it.
    1 point
  23. 1. Why would PKHeX want to be any different than how the games work? You can always try it and see -- you'll see that PKHeX retains everything the same way the game would. 2. You don't need to do each step one at a time. PKHeX chains all the conversions together for you. 3. You shouldn't need to override it from the default, so Yes/Cancel is the correct option for you. It's only useful for advanced users just wanting to inspect data unmodified. Trades update things and ensure it ends up in a legal state (like traded eggs or memories).

  27. The language of the events doesn’t affect the trade. Any language-trade shenanigans was related to the games itself, not due to the fact it’s an event. Example: Gen 3 carts could all trade cross-language, but you get weird issues when trading European mons with diacritic in name characters, display of European names in a Japanese game and what happens to the name when you evolve such mons etc. Gen 4 could trade cross language just fine, except with Korean games (language). They were introduced late and didn’t appear to be planned for, so no trading with Non-Korean games there. Due to not having Gen 3 Korean games, their Pal Park usage isn’t language locked. Gen 5, IIRC, no issues cross language trading wise. Region of the DS doesn’t matter. Main issue with language of the cartridge. So in this example, let’s say a ENG Diamond and a JPN Pearl. They can trade (doesn’t matter if ENG game was purchased in US or EU). They can battle. You only issue would be a KOR Pearl instead, due to the Korean Gen 4 issue mentioned earlier. But you could have just transferred the Mon into a Gen 5 game then trade there. minor edit: I think region lock was kinda an issue with 3DS/DSi and Gen 5 games (cause they have DSi features). But that’s about it. Don’t have to worry if you’re not using a 3DS/DSi console
    1 point
  28. NDS didn’t have region set into it. IIRC Gen 3 - Gen 5 had wonder cards limited to language of the cart (again, region wasn’t a thing for the device, and if you see it from the perspective that people bought the carts from stores in their own country, as most physical stores then [depending on country you’re in] weren’t big on just importing merch of other languages not native to that country, where that store only sold carts of the common language or the language spoken there, that’s technically the ‘region lock’ right there). If I’m not mistaken, only events like WORLDS had event distribution that mixed European and Asian languages, else it’s normally “just stick to the languages used in the area” type of deal.

  29. Checking my notes, I think your file is a raw cartridge backup similar to what a Powersaves device would do -- a rip of the encrypted save data. You'd need to find the original cartridge, as save files are encrypted specific to the cartridge.
    1 point
  30. Contents of the attached 1MB file is either encrypted in some unknown format, or is junk. Either way, it's not close to the expected contents of a save file. I doubt you'll recover anything from it unless you ask for help from someone familiar with gm9 and how it may have given you that file originally and if it's something you can reimport.

  31. I don't know, which is why I was vague in my reply. It's not something you can just quickly change with zero knowledge. https://github.com/gluck/il-repack Merging the assemblies after build might be fine to do, but again, I do not think you need to do this. Plugin files really should be kept as separate files.

  32. 24/03/10 - New Update: Legality: Added Encounter Slot RNG correlation checks for Gen4 (and Gen3). Because Encounter Type PID mismatch wasn't enough! Gen3 correlations are complicated by vblanks, so with PKHeX's default settings it does not raise a flag. Basically, the program tries to check the encounter conditions (if you need a specific lead), and indicates if it is unable to determine how that frame was encountered.

  36. Pokémon Rising Ruby | Pokémon Sinking Sapphire A completed 721 hack for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. Current Version: v2.1.0 Last Updated: 16th October, 2016 Description Rising Ruby and Sinking Sapphire are modifications of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire that allow you to play through the main game with all 721 Pokémon obtainable and go through the challenge of a significantly stronger Pokémon League. A huge emphasis has been placed on Pokémon availability, with most areas in the game offering 10 or 11 species that haven't been seen before that point. The mostly equal chance of encountering any of the Pokémon in an area also mean you're unlikely to get the same thing twice on the first encounter, making the game lend itself well to Nuzlocke runs (if you can handle the extra challenge from the trainer battles!). In addition to these two main changes, there are also modifications to other things where possible, including new convenient sets of level up moves, modifications to evolutions removing trading demands and overly high level requirements, and buffs and changes to Pokémon base stats, abilities and types. The name of the game is that hopefully, you can use whatever Pokémon you like. The challenge the hack brings is six Pokémon rosters on most important trainers, a much sharper level curve, evolved Pokémon appearing earlier in the game, stronger movesets, the use of held items and more. The game has been built assuming the Exp. Share has been turned off and you're carrying 6 Pokémon around with you, so be sure to turn the Exp. Share off if you're only using 6 Pokémon and want an optimal experience! There are unfortunately no edits to the events that take place within the game as script editing is currently not possible on any games in gen 6, so this hack is purely for an enhanced in-game experience. I'm hoping that part of it should be quite enjoyable though. (The hack itself has been around since November 2015, but I hadn't really popularised it as I wasn't completely happy with how it turned out. Now that I've fleshed the changes out a lot more I felt it was ready to bring it to more attention.) Features > The wild Pokémon lists in each area have been entirely renovated with appropriate mixes of the 721 Pokémon available in Gen 6. Each area contains 10 or 11 Pokémon, with each having a 10% encounter rate (or two with 5% in the case of 11 Pokémon), with some earlier routes containing further species in hordes such as the starter Pokémon and Eevee. Most basic forms of Pokémon are available early, with everything besides legendaries (and Spiritomb) being available for capture before seven badges, but with a huge majority playable before even the fourth badge. Pokémon are usually seen in areas that are somewhat appropriate to them, so if you see a Pokémon in a particular environment in another Pokémon game, there's a decent chance you might find it in a similar environment in Hoenn. It is worth noting that not every Pokémon in the wild is able to be captured using the DexNav, as the DexNav screen is only able to support so many Pokémon. In these cases, Pokémon with more sought after hidden abilities are more likely to be available. > The rosters of every trainer in the game has been edited, now also pulling from the pool of every Pokémon. You'll see the majority of species at least once through the game if you fight every trainer, and their levels scale up much higher compared to before; OR/AS's main game saw levels going from 5 to 59/62, whereas RR/SS pulls it up with levels ranging from 5 to 79/81. The extra experience your Pokémon will gain from fighting more evolved Pokémon and trainers having more Pokémon in general will offset the level gap, letting you keep up with the game. > Special trainers such as the Gym Leaders, Elite Four and the rivals have gained extra modifications in the form of the strongest AI setting (where not already applied), the use of held items, stronger movesets, higher IVs and ideal abilities. Most of these trainers also have 6 Pokémon, with every Gym Leader, Elite Four, and even the team admins and leaders sporting a full roster in their final fights. In keeping with the original game, these trainers will still generally have their signature Pokémon ready to go, with new species brought in either from previous appearances or just being new altogether. Additionally, you'll find a lot of trainers will start using Mega Evolutions against you as to get later into the game. > The personal stats of many weaker Pokémon have been tweaked to give them a fighting chance against the stronger Pokémon in the game. Previous weaklings such as Butterfree, Parasect, Farfetch'd, Magcargo, Delibird and Kricketune now have points invested into their stronger stats to give them a particular niche in your team, although they may still fall off as you proceed! With one or two exceptions, no fully evolved Pokémon should have a base stat total below 440. > Type and ability changes have also been given to some Pokémon, with familiar faces from my old hacks such as Bug/Water Masquerain, Grass/Dragon Serperior and Fighting/Flying Farfetch'd being ready to rumble. The addition of Fairy-type also allows a few new changes to the table, with Pokémon such as Misdreavus, Dunsparce, Volbeat and Illumise sporting the new typing. In many cases, Pokémon with only one ability now gain their hidden ability as a normal second ability, and in some cases have entirely new abilities available such as Gale Wings Chatot and Pixilate Dunsparce. > The level up pools for almost every Pokémon have been shuffled to make them a lot easier to use throughout the game, in the same style as how some Pokémon such as Marill and Eevee received new level up sets in Black 2 and White 2. Level up pools have also been bolstered with the addition of moves ordinarily learned from TMs, HMs, previous generations or egg moves. In some cases, Pokémon have been given completely new moves, with stars such as Megahorn Pinsir, Moonblast Togekiss and Hurricane Sigilyph able to pull their weight. > Some attacks have been buffed, notably making Cut, Strength and Rock Smash a lot more usable throughout the game. Special attention has also been given to some of the weaker Fairy-type moves and the lacking special Rock-type moves, with stronger powers (at the cost of reduced effects) making them feel much nicer to use. > Evolutions have been modified so that no Pokémon needs to be traded in order to evolve. Pokémon with ridiculously high evolution levels (including but not limited to many of those from the Unova region) have also had their evolution levels reduced to keep up with the pace of the difficulty curve in the game. > Some Poké Marts and item stalls through the Hoenn region have been changed, now allowing you to buy evolution stones and items such as Dragon Scales and Reaper Cloths (now USEable from the item menu) and evolve the many Pokémon you can capture. Mega Stones for Pokémon whose are normally unavailable before beating the Elite Four can also be purchased in shops after gaining six (or for some, eight) badges. The prices of some items have also been adjusted, with Poké, Great and Ultra Balls becoming significantly cheaper and heavy costs added to Master Balls and Mega Stones. > Gift Pokémon and Static Encounters have been modified to fit their levels with the new curve as well as have some bonuses if you are able to use a modified CRO file. Highlights include guaranteed 31 IVs for any starters and fossils you receive, fighting Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus in their Therian formes, and strong, 31 IV, hidden ability encounters when Soaring in the Sky. > Some text edits have been made in the game where needed for certain situations, such as the removal of Maxie or Archie's line about being the first aside from the player to use Mega Evolution and a heavy push towards the player to not use the Exp. Share. > Trainers in the Battle Resort now act as a "hologram system", allowing you to 'rematch' the Gym Leaders of Hoenn as well as fight trainers with teams belonging to characters from other regions such as Blue, Cynthia, and the Gym Leaders/Elite Four from the Kalos region. > Almost all changes are documented and split between five different documents, which can be consulted to find out more about anything you wish. This includes the exact changes made to any Pokémon, the wild Pokémon in an area and the details of rosters held by nearly every trainer in the game, with full information of moves, items and abilities given for important characters. Screenshots Open the spoiler below to see screenshots of Rising Ruby and Sinking Sapphire. Bugs > No (fixable) bugs known at present. > Some Pokémon may be seen on the very edge of the DexNav. This is a consequence of not being able to fit every wild Pokémon on there and not much can be done about it. Suggestions > Ice Punch for Blaziken. Credits > Project Pokémon: Project Pokémon was an invaluable resource when designing the hack, thanks to the pool of knowledge given by the regulars here. I have a special thanks to give to both Kaphotics and SciresM, both for their work on the amazing PK3DS and 3DS Builder applications as well as their research, and for talking to me and probably withstanding a few stupid questions I had to ask. Couldn't have done it without you guys. > Sylphate: Created the Rising Ruby and Sinking Sapphire logos inspired by the Omega Ruby and Sinking Sapphire versions. They look great! > Chevitile: For suggesting the Rising and Sinking prefixes for the hack, the suggestions I found I liked most. > Asia81: For the guide and precise instructions on how to perform the dumping and decryption process on 3DS games. > 3DS Hackers: The creation of exploits such as browserhax and menuhax is what allows hacks like these to be playable, and it never fails to amaze me how people manage to figure out exploits in these environments. It's hard to credit absolutely everyone who had a step in making the hacks playable, but I'd like to draw special attention to smealum and yellows8 for browserhax and menuhax, Plailect for the incredibly well written and detailed guide for A9LH installation, and AuroraWright for the hugely useful Luma3DS custom firmware. > Dio_Vento: The author of Rutile Ruby and Star Sapphire, another pair of OR/AS hacks. Having this threads around provided some tiny bits of inspiration for my own hacks, as well as showing me what the standard is for distributing the files related to the hack. Download The files for Rising Ruby and Sinking Sapphire can be found in -linked removed, as it contained files from the rom- . Basic instructions are given as to how to play the game in the Readme file. I would suggest using arm9loaderhax and Luma3DS with a CIA installation to get the best experience. Failing that, use HANS via the Homebrew Channel. A Gateway cart can be used but I would recommend against it unless you already own one and are feeling lazy. I plan to offer modified versions of some of the files with the new illegal stuff (new moves, base stat changes etc) ripped out but the more legit stuff like held item changes and level up moves from alternate legal sources left in. These aren't available yet unfortunately, but you can pick and choose which GARC files you'd like to bring in. Contact If you need to get in touch with me about the hack, whether it's about a bug, help or just telling me how you're going about playing the game, either post in this thread or to really get my attention, you can talk to me directly through tweeting at my Twitter account @Drayano60.

Introduction Typically dumping savs from bootleg GBA carts will result in a save that won't be usable on emulators nor save editors. That is because the save is typically stored with the ROM data, instead of the designated save location. This program is able to extract and inject saves into bootleg Pokémon GBA ROMs. Usage You can drag and drop the game (.gba/.bin) onto the program, or open it. The save (if available) is then dumped into the same directory as where the game is. You can extract the save for editing, and then choose to inject back the edited save. Technical Explanation This program checks every 0x1000 of the save file, starting from 0xFF8. (if it's a save, the initial 2-words at every 0xFF8 in the save are identical to each other, and the initial 2-words at every 0xFFE in the save are the same, that being blanks) Image example: Tests done. Tested on a copy obtained from here, as well as on an owned bootleg cartridge.

  41. PKHeX uses the 3DS wordfilter. When trading, it would have its nickname reset and the OT changed to a version-specific bland name. Just because you understand a word as being tame does not mean it isn't foul per Nintendo's standards. https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_censored_words_(Generation_V) It is my choice to use the 3DS wordfilter for all games, instead of no wordfilter or spending time reverse engineering wordfilters for every game. Better to use the most aggressive one for all so that cross-game transfer issues will be known ahead of time.

  42. PKHeX released: December 18, 2022 Cinderace raid released: December 30, 2022 PKHeX can not read into the future for what is and isn't legal. Use latest development build or wait for the next stable release.

  43. well , i found the solution by myself. so, if anybody need it, I'll write it down there. to be honest, this was my very first time i've ever used pkhex before. at first i wanted to drag some pkms on my italian save's storage that I've never connected to a ds but, loading the game, nothing happened. comparing the list in the block data of two different save file (mine and another one that connected to a ds before), i figured out that the options "Display SID" and "Display TID" in my pbrsavedata were set to 0 and in the other savefile to another number. So i decided to copy them in mine and BOOM the storage finally got unlocked!!!XDXDXD i don't know if it's "legal" in pokemon games doing things like that. But it worked so it's fine. I anybody can explain how it worked could be also good. and sorry for my bad english XD

  44. Hey guys! I'll apologize in antecedence for my english because it's not my primary language and I hope you guys can understand what I want to explain and do. So, I think I may have a little bit of OCD and/or perfectionism (call it how you want) but that's not what is important, just explaining the motive behind me coming here to ask what I'm gonna ask. ~ There I was playing my HG run normally then I got bored and decided to go capture the Unowns, made the 1st puzzle, unlocked the A~J series then captured all of them. Ok nothing wrong so far. Solve the Omanyte puzzle to unlock the K~Q series and captured all of them. And here's when it started: I don't know why I decided to open the Pokédex and/or Unown Report but when I opened one of them (and the other one later), I saw all of the Unowns in complete disorder. Sure, it's normal, after all I didn't captured them in the correct order just got everything that appeared to have all the letters. BUT I really hate looking into them and not seeing them ordered. Then I remembered the PKHeX and I thought "maybe they have a function to organize the entries, cause you know, it edits the save files". Well, I found the function to edit and organize them but it was only for the Pokédex entries, not the Unown Report. ~ I tried to look for a way to edit the Unown Report but can't find it. So far, I found these two topics about Unown Report/Dex: [Gen 2 - Crystal Version] Unown Dex Editing GSC Save Research Thread Yes, I know they are from GEN 2 versions but the second link gave me an overall idea of how it works the editing and there I was, having my first (maybe not but you get the gist of it) contact with hexadecimals/decimals editing. I followed this tutorial here but in a SS save that I hadn't captured any Unowns then I captured the A letter and the Event Constant diff that changed was the 75 (0x4B if I got the hex thing right), opened the HG save, tried to edit the Event Constant (to the value of the blank Unown Report), opened the game to see if the Unown Report resets aaaaaand of course it didn't (I removed all the Unowns caught entries from the Pokédex and deleted them on the BOX and yes I made a backup). ~ So here I am, humbly asking if someone can help me with that, after all I don't know if what I'm doing is right or if I'm on the right path and maybe it exists an easier way cause, you know, I'm a beginner in this hex/dec editing. Even if my preference is to just reorder the Unown Report I don't mind resetting it and recapturing (or just re-adding with the PKHex) one by one in order. The possible solutions that I thought that can come with this topic are: 1. It is and interesting (but futile/useless) function to put in the program sometime in the future (don't think so but who knows right?) 2. There is an easier way to do this or I'm on the right path and someone with a kind heart and patience is gonna explain it to me (I hope so but not with high hopes) 3. Just go with it (this is probably the solution that I will follow, after all it's not like my life will over or I cannot finish the game with the disorderly Unown Report, it just bothers me and it doesn't hurt to ask) ~ Anyways, thanks to you who read all of that even if you don't have a solution for it, I really appreciate the time you gave me reading all the complains of a fussy (don't know if it's the right adjective) person. ~ Edit: Btw I posted it here cause I thought it fulfill two of three conditions to post it here (the 'suggestions to improve interactivity within PKHex' and the 'requesting information on how a feature works') but if it's on the wrong area, I'm sorry.

3 years later, this is STILL the best Pokémon save editor out there.

Awesome A button for max all IVs and reset all EVs could save a little more time instead of edit one by one Just go to click on max IVs then Reset Evs and edit the few ones that you require Thanks for all Author edit: Already in the program, control click either button for the desired functionality. For more shortcuts, see Options->About PKHeX->Shortcuts
