I wouldn't be so scared; it could have been anything from powersaves to PKHEX. As a game-shark user from the gameboy era, I noticed that generating Pokémon or (anything else) trough HEX editing was not a simple task. Your code has to take into account all the stuff involved with the changes you make: For example, sometimes, in-game acquired items trigger changes in your save/game, while "illegally acquired items" do not. If you own the original code, you can “quickly” scan the game and detect such irregularities. It was rather obvious when the things scaled to GBA and the DS, it was a pain getting your Pokémon right. I remember it was when the first “Pokémon consistency check” software was launched. Perhaps there will be need for a “Pokémon saved-game consistency check” software, in the future? If you ask me, I think it most of it was powersaves, because their codes do not take into account trainer data or the fine details. As far as I know or as far as I am concerned, they just duplicate the same stuff in whatever saved-game you tamper with. That happens when you are deprived from making your own codes. On the other side, I believe PKHEX is primarily intended to help you grow with your Pokémon and have fun with them; I don't know how PKHEX works from the inside, but if I was going to work with save data, I would try my best to make my edits work -exclusively- with my target-data. And I think the science behind PKHEX's is focused on that subject. As long as you stay within the boundaries, you will be fine, I think. So, it is pretty obvious to me: Whatever method they employed, those bans are the result from exceeding the limits of the game using external devices. Pretty much, it was people getting greedy. I did not expect that people capable of editing their saves were so privileged… I think that 6'000 of banned individuals is a very small number (considering market size and demography). You can always start over, just take smarter shortcuts.2 points

Where to start. Invalid PID. Invalid Move set. You'll never get that nature with IV's and Shiny. Best off finding a PID with nature and use Hyper Training Also language is set to English that shouldn't be.2 points

Hello ! After many months of emuRNGing, I decided to make a collection of all 386 pokemon in their shiny form ! The vast majority of them are from egg RNGing. The Kanto starters are from starter RNGing in FR/LG and the legendaries are from standard static RNGing. Unown and Ditto cannot make eggs, so I had to RNG them in the wild (The Unown procedure was really hard, it took me about 3 days to figure it out). There are also pokemon in the save, which I found ready from other save files (they are leagally tested) and this includes the shiny wishmaker Jirachi (the bashful one). Also, there are about 10 pokemon in BOX 14 that are not part of the shiny collection (and a bit of illegal), but I left them because with them I got all gold symbols from Battle Frontier and I didn't feel like excluding them from this save. As regards Celebi, everyone knows that noone could get a shiny one legally in Gen3. In this save, there are 3, the Ageto and 10 ANIV ones were edited by me with A-Save and the 3rd one is one I captured in Pokemon Crystal and the converted it to 3rd gen pkm format. As regards the save file itself, I have used minimal cheats for unlocking the islands and for obtaining items. Concluding, I should mention that some legendaries were RNGed in different save files, hence they have different OT data. About credits : I would like to thank these guys that I might have used their saves to get something (even if I RNGed something myself), the person that shared openly the shiny Wishmaker Jirachi, the creator of A-Save (KazoWAR) the creators of the lua scripts I used, the creator of VBArr. I will probably write some RNG tutorials in the future for 3rd gen games (especially for FR/LG, because there is really few information on this subject... I really hope you will find this save useful (for collection purposes, because i didn't work on the competitive part at all). Thank you Edit : I realised that I provided the wrong Latios file in the save, so I fixed this issue in the newly attached save file. Edit2 : In Box 14 a shiny flawess Gengar is added. Credits go to wejhvabewjty. Thank you ! Edit3 : In Box 14 a shiny exceptional Manectric is added. Thank you again wejhvabewjty ! Edit4: I have included in Box 14 the shiny flawless Timid Mew Suloku and St. GIGA obtained through RNG (Thank you !). Also, I added a shiny flawless Bagon and a shiny flawless Beldum, RNGed by me, as well as a non shiny Ageto Celebi, with flawless Atk and Sp. Atk IVs (from Nigoli's save I think, thank you as well). Edit4.1 : St. GIGA fixed a problem with the flawless shiny Mew in Box 14. Thank you ! Pokemon Emerald All Shiny Fixed.sav1 point

The Mew contained in this Pokemon Blue save file is legit and was obtained from a ToysRus distribution in 1999. The first 1,500 customers at each Toys "R" Us store around the United States received a special 'Peel & Win' sticker card on November 26, 1999. 200 at each store contained the text "Caught Me!" underneath, which allowed players to receive a Mew from December 8 to 12, 1999. Legitimate Mews for GEN1 Pokemon games are extremely rare these days, due to the fact the save games on Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow game cartridges get erased when the battery inside the game cartridge runs out. Luckily wilykat from the EverDrive forums had backed has save game up so was able to share this rare Pokemon GEN1 event Pokemon with us. I set up Homebrew, and used PKHex and genned a couple of legit Pokemon. I went online and on Battle Spot and did a match. I'm not banned. Hopefully it doesn't change.1 point

I got confused cause he said Gen VI... I didn't read the pic which is clearly Gen IV. Sigh.1 point

Just download the pk1 that is somewhere in this thread, open your save in PkHex and inject it in your save's 1 after editing the mew's DVs. You can extract and then inject your VC using cfw or homebrew save managers. Also, there's no guarantee you will be able to transport the edited mew for long, since it's not legitimately available, only by editing using external programs or in-game hex editing using bugs1 point

The video in question is using an arbitrary execution glitch to rewrite certain parts of the Pokémon in save data, in order to give it the necessary DVs to make it shiny upon transfer. From what I've gathered, the Mew import legality check is only checking for that OT/TID combination of GF/22796, I don't believe it actually checks that the Mew have 15/15/15/15/15 DVs? So if I'm not mistaken, this would mean you could use the arbitrary execution glitch to give the Mew the necessary DVs, and it would successfully import and come through shiny. Technically speaking, it shouldn't be legal though as they never distributed any Mews that should conceivably be shiny.1 point

Hi guys. I've just ended to read everything of this topic. I'm new in the world of PkHeX and I was scared about using it. I've downloaded it just yesterday, before this post creation. I've created a few LEGIT pokèmon such as Arcanine and something else in order to be legit. I'm playing on Pokemon Sun and what I did with Hex was just create some legit pokemon with some item with them like assault vest etc. I didnt get banned even If I used the global link. I've alsod did a trade with a friend. So what I think is that ppl who got banned just did a wrong usage of sav like hacked pokedex and some locked pokemon such as Shiny tapu. I dont know if this might help you a bit. With Hex I haven't changed my char name/location and other stuff.1 point

It has been so long, I guess I forgot. Thank you for that correction @HaxAras. In that case, the item should be set appropriately. I put the determination in another thread based on what @Bond697 determined.1 point

It takes time for PKHeX to be updated and add the new features/checks. Devs are aware, and working on it: At the very least, I commend you using screenshots to prove your point. Not many people do that. Locking the thread.1 point

I'm just going to post my case here for some additional info. Moon = Banned - genned mons [legal], max items [all types], pokemon dex complete, max money, edited trainer location and pokefinder. Sun = not banned - genned Mons [legal], 999x all medicine and item slot items and max money. It seems Pokedex is the main culprit here. My friends who have genned mons from me or themselves are not banned either. The bans are save/game sync only and only restrict you from playing in battle spot, rating battles and global missions. As far as I know the pkhex rules state that you shouldn't be playing battlespot etc with genned mons anyway, so this ban barely matters. I think I deserve the ban but hey it was for science, I wanted to check if getting the shiny charm through the achievement of filling the pokedex was different from just adding it in. My reason to believe that they got caught was probably making a tapu or any other shiny locked pokemon shiny and unlocking the dex entry. Like I mentioned earlier only my save with full pokedex got banned. for example I edited my sun/moon demo greninja to be shiny on sun and it didn't get banned.1 point

PKHeX merely gives you the skeleton key. If you do something you shouldn't, you should be pointing the finger in the other direction1 point

According the bulbapedia the pokemon hills mewtwo has 2 different wondercards (1 english and 1 japanese) and only the japanese one is in the zip. Although they do appear to be the exact same pokemon. The same goes with the vgc worlds 2011 scrafty. The pokemon is always in english but the wondercards change and the korean and japanese ones are not in the zip. The italian folder has both the italian and spanish worlds 2013 smeargles in it. The spanish summer shelmet is named 002 Summer Shelmet SPN [PPorg] and I believe it should be named 003 Summer Shelmet SPN [PPorg].1 point

Banning regarding modified saves are ongoing: https://projectpokemon.org/forums/forums/topic/39874-online-ban-wave-–-almost-6000-people-affected/?do=getNewComment I understand you want a create a Ralts, something that can only be obtained either by hatching or by transferring from bank. Right now we are still documenting the transfer process and legality related to it, and It'll take a while for an update. If you need Pokemon help or Pokemon creation help, or maybe a base to edit your Pokemon over, The correct place would be https://projectpokemon.org/forums/forums/forum/20-pokémon-requests/ If you rely on legality checks of PKHeX, I'll recommend you to wait for the update. When it's out, it'll likely be front-page news. I'm proceeding to lock this thread. Also, regarding posting in this PKHeX forum: https://projectpokemon.org/forums/forums/topic/33741-read-before-posting/1 point

I'm sorry that you took it that way; no excuses, I've got a horrible personality AND tend to get sarcastic when I point out something that is abhorrently basic. (Starter starters can't have egg moves, because it's a starter [not bred], whereas egg moves are only obtained when bred) Now, to the real business. It'll help if you could compare against a Pokemon hatched from an egg, say Eevee. (There's one obtained early on in the game IIRC). This way, you'll know what the egg location and met location details are like, when it comes to Pokemon with relearn/egg moves. Also, do note that in your 4th screenshot, which features the tab with Moves and Relearn Moves, Hatched Pokemon tend to have Relearn Moves fields filled up. When location details are correct and Moves are filled, you may opt to double click the Relearn Moves area for the Program to autofill for you. Now, two last things: 1. There's a mass banning spree done by GameFreak going on, so think twice before you hack. (information here: https://projectpokemon.org/forums/forums/topic/39874-online-ban-wave-–-almost-6000-people-affected/) 2. As this is not a bug, this isn't the right place to continue this discussion (read: https://projectpokemon.org/forums/forums/topic/33741-read-before-posting/#comment-208852), so after last words/questions from you, I'll lock up this thread.1 point

Please wait until the next release is posted on the site; the continuous integration server is mainly for testing build options for every commit, and is not intended to be a substitute for the stable release posted on the forums. You can always compile the build yourself. The current state is still rough and unfinished, so new features are not behaving 100% yet. The latest commits are there for people wanting to test new features with no guarantee of stability.1 point

A new commit was added 2 hours ago to add the new field and remove that legality check, more research is needed to figure out what 0x2A signifies.1 point

In my personal experience, I play VGC. I use PkHex because I am married with a child and do not have the extra time to breed or money to buy multiple cartridges to catch extra Tapu's. I create legit mons and I have no problem using them on battle spot. However, I am very careful and do not ever use anything that does not say "Legal" on PkHeX (green checkmark). In any case, I think you should wait until PkHeX receives an update to start injecting transfer mons, especially if you are not experienced with creating legal mons, because at the moment PkHeX can not tell you if any transfer Pokémon are legal or not.1 point

Now without further ado, the VC Japanese Myuu! My friend went to Japan, so before he left I managed to install VC Pokemon Green on his US 3DS, and passed him my Mew ticket, so he could collect for me.
