    until now, i haven't encounter any shiny, huhuhu (cry here).... i don't want to resort to hacking or trading, i want it the "normal" way, i really envy your luck, guys.

    i like water type pokemon. but comparing them to fire is quite unfair to fire, as we all know that fire is weak to water. and of course, it does not mean that fire is weak since fire have advantages to some other types that water lacks.. because in the poke world, it's a circular balance... just like the classic "rock-paper-scissors".. it's like comparing "scissors" against "paper", water being the "scissors" that's my POV, just sharing

    1. Empoleon - my very first pokemon, (piplup), i treasure him much, currenly at level 89, did not EV train him, always with my in-game team, from the very first battle with starley, up to the E4 & Cynthia, and now to Battle Tower. 2. Gyarados - my first magikarp, same in-game fate with my Empoleon, however, I EV-trained him already. 3. Metagross - a new addition to my original favorites (after acquiring the National Dex), got so curious about the "write-ups" about this guy, and yeah, i have proven his worth in my team. EV trained already @ level 100. 4. Roserade - a favorite eversince she was still a Budew. because of her, I learned how to make good poffins, just to make her happy and evolve to Roselia, and used the shiny stone I got from digging underground. Whew, I really spent a lot of effort to have Roserade she's also a member of my E4 team, and OHKO'd Cynthia's Gastrodon! I have not EV trained her, currently at level 79 5. Palkia - my first ever legendary. played a big role during my E4 battles. not EV trained, currently at level 83 there are still about 3 or 4 fav, but I don't want to get out of the topic

    i really don't get it. on my 40th battle @ the Battle Tower, we were both down with one pokemon, my Gyarados against Floatzel. Gyarados HP was down to 9, while Floatzel's maybe 10 or something, i knocked him out with my final move (Waterfall)... Floatzel fainted, but "hail" affected my Gyarados and knocked him down too. it's a clear DRAW, but I was sent out of the Battle Tower and the lady nurse thanked me told me that I LOST! damn!!!! (BTW, "hail" was initiated by my Empoleon@leftovers for the accuracy of his "blizzard". an experimental move combo )

    this is cool. perhaps my skarmory & pinsir (both at level 98) will be released, and EV trained them accordingly :grog: on my way now to Canalave (Mr. Move Deleter!) and thanks for all the responses. i hope that other members would share their "HM slave pokemon" as well

    first encounter was Starly (naturally!) first catch was a Bidoof and the first to evolve also and the first recipient of an HM 'though, my Bidoof didn't make it to my final 6

    When I started playing Pearl, i distributed the important HMs to ALL the pokemon in my party, i.e. each member of the team gets at least one of the HMs. That was before facing E4 and Cynthia. My Team: :bidoof: Empoleon - Surf, Rock Climb :bidoof: Gyarados - Rock Smash, Waterfall :bidoof: Roserade - Cut :bidoof: Staraptor - Fly :bidoof: Luxray - Strength :bidoof: Palkia - no HM After acquiring the National Pokedex, I made some new HMs slave pokemon and i'm currently using as follows: Pinsir - Rock Climb, Strength, Cut Skarmory - Fly, Rock Smash, Defog & TM70 Flash Tentacruel - Surf, Waterfall

    Thanks a lot for the advice, truly appreciated. i agree with you, i have noticed that Stealth Rock did not "hurt" most of my opponents in the Battle Tower. I'll give explosion to metagross then. and replace the item to Choice Band instead. BTW, i want to teach him thunder punch, how is it possible? As for gyarados, it's good that I have one with adamant nature. better to start training her and give the suggested movesets. Lastly, can you please give me an alternative for flygon? Currently, I am still playing Pearl, (I have a Platinum already but not playing yet..). Below is the current Team I am using at the BATTLE TOWER. Please, I need your professional opinion and advice. Metagross @ Occa Berry Nature: Adamant Ability: Clear Body EVs: 252 HP / 236 Atk / 12 Def / 8 Spe Role: Lead - Stealth Rock - Bullet Punch - Earthquake - Meteor Mash Comment: A Smogon-based metagross lead, with my own version of moveset, keeping Meteor Mash & Bullet Punch for STAB. Empoleon @ Leftovers Nature: Modest Ability: Torrent EVs: my original starter, decided not to EV-train him to see how far he will get Role: Special Sweeper - Hail - Blizzard - Surf - Earthquake Comment: Hail for Blizzard's accuracy, leftovers for the effect of Hail, Earthquake for coverage. Gyarados @ Wacan Berry Nature: Jolly Ability: Intimidate EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Role: Offensive (sweeper) - Waterfall - Thunderbolt - Fire Blast - Dragon Dance Comment: Wacan Berry to weaken electric attacks, Thunderbolt and Fire Blast for coverage. Note: Currently, my team is at a 35 winning game streak. I wonder how far will it go? Your feed back is truly appreciated.

    i have tried breeding from fully hacked parents, and the babies seems to "pass" from some checkers. yeah, i agree that those are not legit (in a true sense of the word), however, the method of producing them are legit and legal for me.

    since Palkia is not on the list, i would choose garchomp and salamence. i really love those two, (personally) 'cause I bred them. from a newly caught bagon & gibble

    i have chosen piplup, as new to this game, it really didn't matter to me what's that pokemon will do. but as i "mature" playing the game, i realized the importance of the starters. and yes, piplup was good at the first gym, and as the game progressed, i managed to counter the weakness of my piplup by adding team members that would "fill-in" the lacking advantage of my team over the succeeding gyms.

    my first ever is Pearl, then now I have Platinum, though i haven't started it yet, finished Pearl 'though, just breeding & training.

    My favorite is very obvious - water-type, empoleon & gyarados in particular. the current moveset for my empoleon @ leftovers: (surf, hail, blizzard & earthquake) great! i also prefer dragon types. i don't like to use legendaries, they are for my collection only.
