Don't worry. I've played MUCH longer than that and don't even have one shiny legit Pokemon.
-
Manaphy... for being a water type with the awesome Hydration ability.
-
Water- I've always liked water pokemon from the very beginning. Abundant, various, and just awesome... with not many weaknesses and having the power to destroy walls and have generally having plenty of defenses make them my favorite. Grass- I just love plants and flowers. They're beautiful and generally powerful or defensive... and I love to spread status around with them. Sure, they have a plethora of weaknesses, but sometimes they're dual typed to negate some of them. Ice- one of the best offensive types out there. I like their cool nature and just how beautiful most are aesthetically, like Glaceon and Articuno. Unfortunately, their offensive nature comes with a terrible price: being only resistant to its own typing and having four weaknesses, three being common types. Or perhaps I like them because some are part Water... I don't know. It's too bad this is only asking about my top three... or else I would have included Ghost and Bug as my other two... Open to see some crazy rant...

What's Your Favorite Pokemon? Current Pokémon Type: Dragon
wraith89 replied to Greencat's topic in Generation 4
I generally don't like Psychic types... but I do make exceptions and have one favorite and is perhaps one of my top favorite Pokemon... and it's Mewtwo. My second favorite is Gardevoir... -
So how does a shiny Drifloon look like?
-
It was actually just one against Clefable... and there was a similar story like that in Smogon. I read it somewhere... let me see if I can find it. EDIT: It wasn't on Smogon. I found it here: http://www.pojo.biz/board/showthread.php?t=479070

Is this your first shiny Pokemon ever? (not counting Red Gyarados).
-
I tried to get Refresh and Mirror Coat on Squirtle... and so I had a Corsola with those moves... but my baby Squirtle only got Refresh. I don't know what's wrong... but I'm sure both moves are compatible with Squirtle.

First Warstory of Project Pokemon (Greencat vs. NeoDraven)
wraith89 replied to Greencat's topic in Warstories
I just posted mine up... and sorry. I stole your format, Greencat. I'm no good at making these. -
So it was a rain team after all, NeoDraven. How epic. One Clefable taking down a whole entire team... told you she was dangerous!
-
Yeah, I realize. Not everything is perfected... and frankly, those 252/252/6 EV spreads are quite boring. I actually did take out three Pokemon with gimmicky sets... only because they were least expecting it.
-
Fly encourages switching... it's still not that great. The only usage it has is on something like Pressure Aerodactyl to Pressure stall... but Aerodactyl's stats don't cry "staller". Lucario's still dangerous... Focus Sash'd or not because he is unpredictable somewhat. You never know if he'll attack physically, specially, or both.

I realized. Hey, NeoDraven, could I post our warstory or would you rather pass? -

I was glad to see Crocune works pretty well in D/P too. -

Yeah, legit is good. It's like 1/8192 chance to get a shiny... so theoretically, the 8192th Pokemon you get is going to be a shiny. Some people tend to get a lot of shinies... others don't (I'm the latter so don't feel too bad). Alternately you can try to chain for stuff... only to be encountered by :bidoof: on the 40th try... argh. There goes my shiny Kirlia I knew someone who ran away because they thought the shiny Rattata (again, the SHINY RATTATA!!) was a glitch.
-
If you have Action Replay there's a code to toggle the shininess of wild Pokemon... if you want that I can post it here.
-
Ouch. That's bad... but I know someone who had it worse by encountering a shiny Rattata (how does everyone encoutner a shiny Rattata but me?) during the beginning of the game when there were NO POKEBALLS in your bag! Eww... I could give you mine but my Wifi is down... until I fix it I'm not giving away stuff for obvious reasons.
-
Does it really? I thought it's a x1.2 boost... although I haven't factored in STAB, I admit. And Speed boost? I don't recall that effect... please elaborate I have a shiny Larvitar (it's my friend's really). She's gold and has a purple stomach.

The cool thing about the second set is that people expect the physical Lucario so much that they forget Lucario is actually stronger on the special side... and they never see one most of the time. As for a flyer... Fly isn't a good move competitively, but for in-game, I use my Tropius because flying dinosaurs are cool. Tropius can also learn stuff like Cut, Rock Smash and Defog to help out as an HM slave. Or how about you get those ever-so-common Starly as your flier. Staraptor isn't bad competitively either unlike his predecessor Pidgeot, who I think Gamefreak screwed up so badly (see one of my posts about this, I'll link to it once I find it). EDIT: Click here... it's that really long one. I have an Aerodactyl and I would give you mine but my Wifi is down. You can look for an Old Amber in the underground (I think there are old Ambers there after you beat the E4...) And cool, you use a Vaporeon like me... that's awesome! BTW in that episode... Aerodactyl should have owned Charizard... but since the anime loves to deviate from what actually happens (like Goldeen beat Victreebel)... I got angry so I don't watch the anime anymore. I liked the Kanto series though.

Yeah, the new Giratina looks cooler, but he's forced to carry the Griseous Orb... and is rather outclassed by Dialga and Palkia as special attackers... although he has more HP than the other two... which always helps. For uber battles though I prefer the regular D/P form because he makes one of the best physical walls out there in ubers had it not been for the fact he doesn't have a instant recovery move (Restalk works but it takes away two moveslots). I agree though... aesthetically, the origin form looks much cooler than the alternate form... but aesthetics never counted for battling prowess, now did it?

A mixed Lucario? I don't know a good set for mixed though, so hmmm... I'd go with either these: Physical@Life Orb/Focus Sash Adamant/Jolly 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Speed - Swords Dance - Extremespeed - Close Combat - Crunch/Ice Punch (latter due to move tutor in Platinum) Special@Choice Specs/Life Orb <--- beware: Choice Specs locks you into one attack, but you will be switching often anyways so it can be a good choice Modest/Timid 6 HP/252 SpAtk/252 Speed - Aura Sphere <--- signature move, never misses! - Shadow Ball/Dark Pulse <--- choose one. Shadow Ball + Aura Sphere gives perfect coverage while Dark Pulse can flinch... but Dark Pulse + Aura Sphere is resisted by Toxicroak and Heracross... beware of the latter! - Vacuum Wave/Psychic <--- the former is from Riolu, the latter you can use if you don't care about priority or want to hit something like Heracross or Infernape on the switch - Calm Mind/HP Ice/Dragon Pulse <--- use the first only if you're not using Choice Specs. HP Ice if Choice Specs... if it isn't HP Ice you can opt for Dragon Pulse

Oh wow. Shiny Giratina looks like the inverse palette of the original Giratina. Get a sprite of Giratina, copy and paste it into Paint and press Ctrl + I to see for yourself (well... except for the head)!

It'll take more than one Fire Fang though... because Spiritomb has some pretty nice defenses. I'll just use an Adamant Choice Banded Flareon with Fire Fang and see her wreck some havoc against random Wondertombs. They'll Will-o-Wisp more often than not so switching in Flareon will activate Flash Fire... and Fire Fang against Wondertomb will surely do some heavy damage coming off a STAB Flash Fired 130 base attack stat with Positive nature and Choice Band... although that 65 base power from Fire Fang offsets it. And that 95% accuracy hurts. Some person gave up his Togekiss because his Togekiss's Air Slash (a 95% accurate move) missed 5 times in a row for him once...
