As far as I know I'm pretty sure there is no RNG in the original G/S/C games.

I evolved mine into Flareon just for the heck of it. But like the post above I never really used it. I spent the majority of the time purify my other Pokemon

As far as events go the ID and SID do matter.

If I recall Trashbytes are only use on Pal Parked Pokemon and Mystery Gift Pokemon. So that's the reason why.

It turned out fine when I check it. If you want to fix it you can just Nickname it and then Rename it back and it should be fine.

I think it's just an update that will eventually be made. I've read somewhere (forgot EXACTLY where) but that Platinum is still lacking updates but will be getting them as time passes.

Well if you hatched them in-game AND THEN loaded them up on pokesav it shouldn't be giving you any problems (I do this all the time) would you mind attaching the Pokemon File so I can check it out?

Are you trying to export AR (Action Replay) codes or are saving directly to the SAV. file?

Ya I was just trying to figure out whether or not you AR actually worked. So now we know it's your Code Manager. So now the question is: Are you using the ORIGINAL CD that came with the AR or a different one ( Maybe an old one you used to have?)

Correct =] Just make sure you save before entering into the whole entire conversation (IT'S LONG) And when you battle your Rival you will be able to tell if your Pokemon is shiny or not =]

Does the AR itself work? i.e. Can you use it as of right now on a game?

Did you have another Platinum? Because this means you just LOST your Darkrai.... Assuming you got the Member's Pass from the Event that just ended...
