Rate My Individual *Unique* Pokemon set
Feralligates replied to Lugiamaster's topic in Competitive Battling Discussion
No, I haven't used this set yet, I'm just building one and possibly use it someday. The first one that I posted I did use, and can attest of how well it worked for me. I pretty much came up with this set thinking on lead Ttars, and possibly DDancers or even Mixed ones, however, I did imagine that Scarftars were the order of the day, which beats the motif behind the set. Between Surf and Hydro Pump it's always a struggle; personally I prefer Surf, as I favor reliability over power, much like you, but depending on the PKMN and its stats, the added power that offers Hydro Pump is most welcomed. I certainly will never use Hydro Cannon, although admittedly I've been tempted to, as I'm sure many have. I know better, of course. Anyway, here's a revised set: [sPRITE]260[/sPRITE] @ Damp Rock or Leftovers Ability: Torrent Nature: Brave EV Spread: 204 Atk / 216 Sp. Atk / 88 Def Moveset: - Rain Dance - Superpower - Earthquake - Surf Damp Rock is the item of choice, but the HP recovery from Leftovers is always welcomed. And I followed your advice and added Surf, mostly because 1) coupled with Rain Dance it will still hit hard, and 2) it has more PP, and we can't forget about the accuracy. =P- 151 replies

At first glance I would recommend running Tcruel with Clear Body.

I went with a speed nature in order to outrun Tyranitar and OHKO it with Superpower, so long it's played as lead, of course--in fact I could even outrun Hippowdon and Abomasnow. But I agree that those Speed EVs could be invested on another stat, possibly spreading them accordingly between attack and special attack. As for Surf, it certainly is another option, mostly if Hydro Pump's accuracy isn't trusted, plus it's even better in 2vs2. I haven't had problems with Hydro Pump myself, so I usually choose it over Surf whenever I use PKMN like Swampert. Ice Beam sounds nice, but I could always switch in to something else with that move. =)- 151 replies

Gotta love Life Orb. I'd go with a Naïve nature myself, with a spread of 252 in Attack, 200 in Speed, and 58 in Special Attack, and I'd run it with Agility, Sky Uppercut (or maybe Brick Break?), Stone Edge, and Overheat. Anyways, speaking of Naïve natures, I made some changes to the Swampert I posted earlier: [sPRITE]260[/sPRITE] @ Damp Rock or Leftovers Ability: Torrent Nature: Naïve EV Spread: 232 Atk / 220 Spd / Sp. Def 52 / HP 6 Moveset: - Rain Dance - Superpower - Earthquake - Hydro Pump It's basically a Tyranitar counter. Swampert's typing makes it a perfect choice to set up Rain Dance, and it also has respectable stats. I like how it turned out, but I'm sure there's still room for improvement...- 151 replies

To get your Secret ID you'd have to do it yourself with an AR. Alternatively, it is possible to do it without an AR as demonstrated in .

She sure is packing Psychic heat, and by that I mean all her attacks are Psychic-type. Anyways, I have to get up-to-date with the current metagame, but Gardevior sure has an impressive movepool, and I believe she can pull the support roll rather well. At first I was going to say "Why not Adamant?", but then I saw it's holding a Choice Scarf while having Swords Dance... I'm not missing anything, am I?- 151 replies

Yeah, seems like a segregated moveset; and I have indeed read and seen how many prepare for Bulky Waters. Thinking about it, could Swampert handle an HP Grass? Back then it was considered physical, but now it's wholly different. I'm positive a Grass Knot would certainly end its run for sure. But it might still have its uses--late game seems viable, as you stated.- 151 replies

I used to run this Swampert set many times during the RSE&FR/LG days, including NetBattle; it worked very well for me back in the day, but I'm not sure how it would fare nowadays (what with Stealth Rock and its ilk). It is a set I greatly enjoyed using at the time, so just for fun I decided to post it after coming across this thread... Swampert @ Leftovers Ability: Torrent (Not that it matters, really...) Nature: Careful Ev Spread: 252 HP / 214 Sp. Def / Def 40 / Atk 4 Moveset: - Curse - Earthquake - Brick Break - Mirror Coat I went through the arduous task of breeding for this to have 31 IVs in HP, Attack, Defense, and Special Defense, not sure what the IVs were on the rest, but not that it actually matters. Sometimes I would run this as lead, other times I would switch it on an Electric attack or against something that Swampert would resit and move from there, but most of the time I would use it once I eliminated at least two of my opponent's PKMN. I still remember one time where I led with it and managed to pull 4 Curses, my opponent apparently hoping for a critical (I would assume), but after the fourth Curse he switched to an Alakazam, launching a Psychic only to be returned doubly. Good times. I had a blast using this set!- 151 replies

I used to. Truth be told, I despised people that "Pokesav'd their teams" and didn't want to even be around them, but as time went by I slowly stopped caring. Ironically I recently delved into the practice after downloading PokéGen, although I've mostly used it so far to get some Event-only PKMN and shiny PKMN I'm too lazy to hunt for (like one-off legendaries--I get tired of soft reseting for them). As far as codes go, I've messed around with them a little, just the common stuff like item codes, IV checking, and fast leveling.

Grass: Water: However, that is beta artwork.

Hmm, I dunno; I don't dislike any PKMN... I do dislike that in each Gen. they make a Pikachu-esque PKMN, though. Gen. II we got a Marill (and Pichu, of course); Gen. III we got the Plusle and Minum combo; in Gen. IV Pachirisu; and so far Chiramii seems to be the Pikachu of Gen. V.

Problems with ARDS Code Output of Pokesav
Feralligates replied to Soldjermon's topic in RAM - NDS Help
PokéGen is far more user-friendly; I remember I was taken aback when I used Pokesav for the first time, thankfully I came across this place. -
I tend to pronounce them my own way, but I do conform to the standard pronunciations. I pronounce these PKMN as follow: Rayquaza = Rey-qua-zah Charizard = Char-e-zard Arcanine = Ar-kah-nine Typhlosion = Ty-flo-shion Heatran = He-tran And "Giratina" was this close to being named "gelatina" or "gelatin / jelly" in Spanish.

Games: Black and White Update: New Pokemon & New Mechanics
Feralligates replied to NewsBot's topic in News Discussion
Water/Fighting seems feasible. At first I thought it would end up being Water/Ground, but since sea otters like the ocean more than land, that option seems quite distant at best. I'd say that Tsutarja will end up being pure Grass while Pokabu Fire/Ground (stereotyping it because it's a pig). Or, what if Pokabu ends up being Fire/Psychic? Speculating is so much fun when there's little info. =P I know we have a psychic pig already, but hey, Wynaut? Sure does. The sea otter will probably be like a starter version of Magikarp/Feebas. -
With all the Legendaries, it's always hard to choose... But if I had to choose one from each Gen., then: 1st Gen: Zapdos 2nd Gen: Raikou 3rd Gen: Rayquaza 4th Gen: Dialga

If Treecko were only male, I would say Tsutaja would end up being the female version. The PKMN shown in the image really has a Grovyle-esque feel to it--it is beta artwork after all, so the final product might be different. -
Hi, and welcome, I'm also new around here. =) I also got into the TCG, but stopped playing/collecting after Neo Destiny. I still have them laying somewhere around my room within a box gathering dust. I remember playing at school during recess. Good times.

LOL, yeah, it does make a good excuse. =P I tried NetBattle ages ago, used to be on it almost daily, almost always running different teams. Then after a while I had to fix my computer where system recovery had to be done losing all programs in the process. After that, I haven't bothered installing much programs, but taking into account I've recently installed some I found here, installing SB wouldn't seem like a bad idea. =) The scenery change might be beneficial indeed. -

Thanks, glad to meet you. =) And yeah, I consider myself a competitive player, but like I said, almost 3yrs out of Pokémon has really rusted me up. It's kind of hard to explain, really, but I think a friend of mine explained it better than me recently by saying that I simply have "competitive flu". That probably doesn't even make sense, but I'm sure I'll get back to it eventually. Shoddy Battle has been something I've pondered on, as I used to use NetBattle, but I feel a bit lethargic about it. I do reckon it could remedy my "competitive flu". Anyways, nice to meet you, Tbird; you'll definitely see me around. =) -

No, there isn't a Ghost/Psychic yet. A Bug/Fire is possible, and I wouldn't see why there can't be a Dragon/Ice either. Truth be told, as far as appearances go, Reshiram definitely looks like a Dragon/Ice PKMN. Also, I wouldn't mind some "retypings" myself. Luxray definitely looks like an Electric/Dark PKMN; Stantler has this Girafarig vibe to it, so adding a Psychic typing wouldn't seem odd; and wouldn't it be cool if Gengar lost it's Poison typing? Yeah, too awesome, but highly unlikely. I can dream... Anyway, on a slightly different subject, way back during the RB* days, when I saw Kangaskhan for the first time, I was under the impression it was a Rock-type, just because of the way it looks. *Red Robin! YUM!!
