  1. i think at this point i'm the only one who uses it.
  2. no, this won't work. the function that is being hooked is "storePKMData", a function that is a large switch statement that makes use of gamefreak's setup of pkm data as a series of fields. the case being hooked in the switch is the marking case and cutting off the top of the code will cause the game to function normally, since the hook is never written and the new routine never jumped to.
  3. f710 and 2111880 are part of a literal pool. that's not a location.
  4. well, i guess i can give you a little head start, then. 21A9DAE in white 1 is where you want to start. follow that(and the branch) to the end of the function.
  5. have you ever done any disassembly before? not being a dick, just wondering.
  6. every guide you've ever read about pid generation is missing a step. i'm pretty sure most every guide everywhere is missing it since it's something you would need to figure out through LOTS of observation or some disassembly. you have roughly a 50/50 shot of generating a valid wild/stationary pid without the piece you're missing.
  7. all english versions of bw (and presumably b2w2) are exactly the same, byte for byte. extra copy of what key items?
  8. it has nothing to do with shininess, the pid is illegal for wild and stationary pokemon. pokecheck agrees with me:
  9. the pid generator needs some work.
  10. gba roms can't be 64mbyte. the max cart size is 32mbyte.
  11. that doesn't necessarily have anything at all to do with this patch.
  12. use pokegen to do it.
  13. you're using the wrong code: Hold L to Show Secret ID at Trainer Card v2 94000130 FDFF0000 DA000000 0223AE36 D6000000 022260A4 D2000000 00000000 all it was doing is displaying your money. FFBB isn't a real activator.
  14. i can't say i'm surprised that i tried the meloetta on black 1 and white 2 and it worked perfectly on both.
  15. 3EF8A5F0 07A0EFBC AA7C07D3 0D67D1F8 CD080EFC B9010916 65DA389A 09D8882C i just made it. action replay v3 100% capture in emerald
  16. that's awfully strange. try clearing off the AR through the manager and then re-add your codes. the manager is a kinda finicky.
  17. maybe they did "screw up" the distro cart, but no one can prove that. it's more guessing. and really no one knows if either can be shiny. you can't say either way. if you can give me a distro cart/rom i can tell you in like 10 minutes, but that's not going to happen so you're just going to have a bunch of "yes they can"/"no they can't" guessing. and wishmkr jirachi can be shiny, so if they ban shiny jirachi it's their own ignorance that's the problem.
  18. they screwed up the distribution cart? no one knows if 10 anivs can or can't be shiny. one could make a persuasive argument either way, really. as for channel, i don't think anyone knows how it's generated, actually.
  19. post the code
  20. the first line in the AR code is functionally equivalent to the first 2 lines in the code freak code if i'm understanding it right. also, no one with an AR should use the code freak code, as D-type codes don't work that way on an AR and that will either just plain not work or crash the game. either/or, not about to try.
  21. i'm told(by guested) that the game registers you as having traded with yourself if you use a gts program, which is kind of a problem since that shouldn't be possible. i know pokecheck has some kind of provision to handle this, but i don't know what pokegts does about it. as for what would happen because you were recorded as having traded with yourself? almost definitely nothing. just saying, it's there.
