I’ve got no concrete answers for all your questions, especially your R4 one. As for the randomiser one, it’s one of two things: - if the randomiser doesn’t check the checksum of the game (meaning you can load an edited game), then it should be fine - if it won’t recognize an edited game, you’re likely gonna have to make the edits after you randomised it. in either case, it’s a “try for yourself and report back to us” situation.

yeah the hope would be them keeping it, but it's hard to say. Anything can happen

Multiple IFs. If HOME supports HOME->BDSP, and doesn't wipe the HT/WT data upon such an entry into BDSP, then yes, it would come into play. Same thing for SV: If SV supports HT/WT, and doesn't wipe HT/WT if HOME supports HOME->SV, then yeah it'll come into again. Do notice how there's multiple IFs involved. Just because HOME doesn't wipe HT/WT currently, doesn't mean it won't when entering future games. Another if would be if SV even decides to support + display it. HOME wiping HT/WT when entering future games: As much as it doesn't do so right now, we cannot guarantee it won't in the future. SV supporting HT/WT: As much as it seems SV is built on PLA's engine, we can't guarantee the support. SWSH was built on LGPE's engine and it didn't support HT/WT displays.

Gen 3 RNG Eggs on Emulator, IV not matching
theSLAYER replied to LilSmooshy's topic in Pokémon Legality
I meant 'show inheritance' for your previous beedrill example, since that's what we're looking at. Tho from this example, it looks like Pokefinder is more accurate than RNGReporter, since you're getting the exact values. So you can continue to progress with Pokefinder, it looks like RNGreporter is just getting the numbers wrong. Probably another reason (or maybe a consequence of) why it is a dropped project.. Regarding the method: https://github.com/zaksabeast/PokemonRNGGuides/blob/main/guides/FireRed and LeafGreen/Egg RNG.md It doesn't mention anything about the method, but it's using a normal one in the screenshot. -

Can you show me the search via Pokefinder, but click 'Enable inheritance'? I'm unsure of the Mixed method thing. I'm trying to look for it -

No them being legal won’t be a problem. Interestingly the screenshot you showed is for RNGreporter, yet you mentioned Pokefinder. To be clear, every value you input matches what you’re doing? Like the initial seed, like the compatibility of parents, like the IVs the parent have? -
[GEN1] Is there a way to recover pokemon from hall of fame?
theSLAYER replied to Manroscas's topic in Saves - Research
Pokemon files are not stored 1-for-1 in the Hall of Fame. So the answer for your case is no. Read more on what data is stored here: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Hall_of_Fame#Generation_I -
Pokémon Emerald GBA - Corrupt Save File
theSLAYER replied to Vedana's topic in Saves - Files and Requests
Yeah, that's the thing that baffles me the most. I would assume that you would have saved multiple times leading up from the start of the game to Sky Pillar, so if the 26 second came from a very early point of your playthrough, that should have been overwritten at this point. Anyway sorry I couldn't help. -
Corrupted Gold sav.dat File Restoration Help Virtual Console
theSLAYER replied to tah5274's topic in Saves - Editing Help
The save loads just fine in PKHeX, but PKHeX does tell me the checksums are invalid. So here's how to fix the checksums: Load it into PKHeX. The move a Pokemon around. Then export the edited save. Then import the edited save into your game.- 1 reply

Pokémon Emerald GBA - Corrupt Save File
theSLAYER replied to Vedana's topic in Saves - Files and Requests
How odd. How Gen 3 saves work, is that store a save in Block A and Block B, so that in case one Block corrupts, the game can revert to the other working block. However, both of your blocks are the "0:26 save". I would have hoped to get the 'caught Rayquaza save', even if partially corrupted, in one of the blocks, but it is no where to be found. Perhaps your cart saved it in some other area of the cart. Try finding out what kind of bootleg you may have (I don't know, maybe look at the physical cart for keywords and google them), then maybe you can try to see how to extract the corrupted save, if it even exists anymore -
Gen 3 RNG Eggs on Emulator, IV not matching
theSLAYER replied to LilSmooshy's topic in Pokémon Legality
Are the parent IVs correct? On RNGreporter you have them as both all 31, but I somehow doubt that. Any chance that the parents have some 30 and some 27 IVs? -

Anyhow, I'm assuming the 0:26 second save is a state where you saved a long time ago? -
Pokémon Emerald GBA - Corrupt Save File
theSLAYER replied to Vedana's topic in Saves - Files and Requests
Yeah I'm at a loss. The 128 save just had 2 copies of you at the start of the game. The 1080 version didn't even contain save data. -
Pokémon Emerald GBA - Corrupt Save File

Possible to upload 8M DACS? The size is the number in the bracket, and 1000KB appears to be the largest size in the list. -
Pokémon Emerald GBA - Corrupt Save File
theSLAYER replied to Vedana's topic in Saves - Files and Requests
I panicked for a moment, and thought my program borked. Turns out, it didn't. This is absolutely not a save. If no tools are finding actual saves, then I guess it's not really anywhere. Out of curiosity, go back to the save dumping tool, and switch the SRAM to max size the dropdown menu would allow. See what it dumps. -
Pokémon Emerald GBA - Corrupt Save File
theSLAYER replied to Vedana's topic in Saves - Files and Requests
Given that you didn’t pay more than $10 then, it would probably have been safe to surmise it is fake XD Try using your tool to dump the ROM, then use our tool to extract saves from bootleg ROMs gives you any saves. Remember to not upload the ROM here. Let me know if the extractor gives you any saves. -
Such requests usually fall through when the ‘head of the project’ have zero ROM hacking experience. Maybe try something basic, like using the tool “Advance Map” to edit maps and have NPCs in different places, changing the encounters, learning how to make working warps etc. After that, you can move forward with scripting, which changes what the NPCs say and do, custom encounters. And then past that, there are other tools in the “Advanced series” that can help you change how the sprites look. Should be easy to google.

Can you confirm if you cart is a real or fake cart? Perhaps try using another method to dump your cart? -
Pokémon Emerald GBA - Corrupt Save File
theSLAYER replied to Vedana's topic in Saves - Files and Requests
So I used the non-export save, tried to use both save blocks in that one save to make a full save, and they both have a game that saved at the start. So it sounds like either you saved over your own game at the beginning, or maybe some nonsense going on with your cart v dumper. -
Trying to salvage my "Corrupted" Pokémon Red Savefile
theSLAYER replied to Francistein's topic in Miscellaneous Help
Mew glitch doesn’t destroy the save. Or cause issues down the line in terms of operating the cart. It sounds like a board issue. The cart probably got some variation of wear and tear along the years. Since we aren’t PCB experts, even a picture of the board won’t necessarily help. Maybe carefully look at the pins, solders, and traces, to visually check if they’re all okay. Some times all you need is IPA to clean the contacts, and maybe resolder some broken connections. -
Pokémon Emerald GBA - Corrupt Save File
theSLAYER replied to Vedana's topic in Saves - Files and Requests
Sorry I was referring to RAM size/save type. Original was (64KB) in your screenshot. once you set it to 128, try loading it in PKHeX. After that, export the save from PKHeX, then try restoring into your game.
